I believe with the rise of bubble tea and Gong Cha's popularity there are many locations enabling a strong NYC physical presence. There is a line spewing out the door. There is one kiosk for cashless payment outdoor and one cash register operated by an associate indoor. Gong Cha complies with "Prohibition of Cashless Establishments, as of March 21, 2026, all retail and food establishments in New York State, including New York City, must accept in-person cash payments, banning fully cashless stores." (source: Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), Local Law 34 of 2020). Oh! For small amounts of purchases, my default payment method is cash. Yes, cash is still widely accepted in the 21st century. Peach green tea, medium, $7.25 With my favorite default grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 choice topping, it dispelled a lot of my anxieties enabling an evening's calm phlegmatic disposition. The grass jelly was average and disappointedly paucity in quantity. My drink order was accurately intake and fulfilled. The ice melted entirely during my long-haul subway ride home. My drink was delightfully enjoyable. Customer service is mediocre for two associates hustling busy. The cashier associate Esther H. incite aggression for a drop of condescending flair for a functioning air of ire as I disrupted her rhythm flow. I specifically requested a sales receipt two times and with acquiesce, I did obtained. This Gong Cha location sits in Korea Town on West 32nd Street (between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue) and is accessible via MTA NYC Transit 34th Street Herald Square subway station trains B, D, F, M, N, ​Q, and R. Love Gong Cha in general and this location is no exception. I came on a Friday afternoon (~2pm) and there was absolutely no line (there's usually a 10-15m) line when I walked by the place pre-pandemic so I'm not sure if it's because of the timing or if there are just fewer customers due to COVID. The shop itself is very small and they only allow one customer/ group in at a time to order. Their service is pretty quick and the order was made without issue. I always order the strawberry milk tea with white pearls and regular sugar. Most of my friends think the regular sugar level is too sweet, and I'd agree for their other drinks (eg. mango green tea), but I feel like it's a good level for the strawberry milk tea. The white pearls cost a bit more (75c) than the regular pearls (50c) I believe, and have more of a chewy jelly consistency as opposed to the regular tapioca chewiness. The strawberry milk tea is as you'd imagine, like a milk tea with extra strawberry flavoring. The strawberry flavoring tastes like boiled sugar water with strawberry more than hershey's strawberry syrup, making it taste more like a real strawberry rather than artificial flavoring. This is my favorite drink my far from gongcha and would highly recommend to anyone who loves strawberry milk! read more

Very small tea shop right in the middle of Korea town. Just an order and go location. Lines tends to be long. I ordered the Lychee oolong tea for the ride back to the hotel room. These were definitely overcooked and mushy, which was off putting. It is nice that you can customize toppings, sugar content, and ice to your liking. Service/Ambiance: Located in the heart of KTown, it typically has a line since it's a tiny storefront. There is not much room to stand inside, and nowhere to sit (so pretty much grab and go type of place). They forgot my friend's order, so we had to wait even longer. While the sugar level was something that I could tolerate, the drink was INCREDIBLY CHALKY. Seriously its as if they did not mix the drink and had the drinks froth sitting on top. Sandwiched in the middle of Broadway and 5th Ave on 32nd Street, Gong Cha makes great tea, cost is standard, and accepts card and cash with no minimums. That's always great. For those who aren't familiar with the brand, they only make certain flavors and not the flavors of the rainbow like Ten Ren or ViVi, for instance. Their limited selection is straight to the point and is customizable, as most bubble tea shops should be. All the teas are real ingredients too. Staff is fast and sufficient, but because there aren't too many bubble tea locations in the midtown area, this shop can get packed, especially on hot days. Gong Cha is also open late for your tea needs. As stated, this is a to-go shop- only standing room to order and wait for your order. They do sell random things like mugs and loose teas as well.
