Good Stuff is solid. It really is. I have been coming to this location for over 12 years and I am not disappointed. They do a good breakfast and while I only get a few different things, they are all delicious! My favorite is the California Omelette. Also a big fan of the Loco Moco (I realize this is not everyone's favorite) but all the food coming out of the kitchen looks great. Large portions, fresh ingredients, and super tasty. Orion's to go healthy or indulge a bit. That's your call. Lunch menu looks good but I have to tell you, I come for the breakfast! It's not a huge restaurant so it can get busy but the staff does a great job getting your food out hot and keeping your coffee and water topped off. Inside tables, a small counter for single diners, and a small but great little patio on the side. 3-4 two tops outside and maybe a table of four so your larger groups may have to sit inside. I write a lot in my reviews about the staff because I think it makes a huge difference as these guys almost always exceed expectations. The place is clean and the service is great. read more

This El Segundo diner lives up to its name by being good, but not great, impressive, or unique. Like Oklahoma, it's OK and that is totally a-ok. Parking was easy in the garage for the building and I was lucky to pop in on a Tuesday when beers are $3 all night. Happy Hour is an option (before you get off work) from 3:00 to 5:00 with $3 beers on other days. A friendly server greeted and seated me quickly and brought a draft beer a few minutes later. Service was consistent and positive throughout. Cierra's Wedge Salad ($6.25) with the basics of a wedge like Blue Cheese Dressing, Bacon, Tomato, and Red Onion was a large appetizer to start my meal. It almost filled me up by itself. The salad wasn't spectacular, but good for a diner salad. (3 stars) Guacamole Pepper Jack Burger ($10.25 plus $0.30 for Jalapeños) with a side of Sweet Potato Fries. The 1/3 lb. Beef Patty was unremarkable; however, the burger was messy to eat because the weak (dry) bun crumbled apart. Thin and soft sweet potato fries made me wish I'd ordered regular fries or a cup of chili. (3 stars) Families, seniors, or anyone looking for a classic local diner in El Segundo offering average American food and neighborly service should visit Good Stuff. ***Good Stuff is a little pricey for a just okay breakfast*** Good Stuff is a well known breakfast spot that has several locations in the south bay. This is the first time I have ever tried one of their locations. The El Segundo location features a very casual and friendly atmosphere. There are a few tables outside and several tables inside as well as a counter. Their breakfast menu is fairly big. There are a lot of options like omelets, egg and breakfast meat meals, eggs benedict, pancakes, and so on. There are also several Mexican breakfast options. I had their California omelet, which was a three egg omelet filled with applewood bacon, avocado, mushroom, and tomato. It was then topped with melted monterey jack cheese. The omelet was not bad. The egg was nicely done. I felt the fillings were just okay. I liked the tomatoes and mushrooms as well as the creaminess of the avocado. I was not a big fan of the presentation of the melted cheese on top of the omelet. It made the omelet feel heavy. The bacon was okay. It had a good flavor, but it was not crispy. It was too soft and thus kind of lacked flavor. The omelet came with hashbrowns, which featured tender and soft potatoes and a very crispy and browned crust. The hashbrowns were nicely cooked, but they were bland. The omelet also came with a choice of bread, muffin or English muffin. I went with the toasted English muffin and it was thin and flat. It was kind of like a mediocre grocery store English muffin. Service was good. The staff was friendly and the food came out at a quick pace. Prices were not bad given the decent portions, but most of the menu was right around the $10 range, which felt overpriced for at best average breakfast food. Good Stuff feels like it should be a good breakfast spot, but I just did not like it as much as I wanted to. Nearby Uncle Bill's Pancake House serves a much better omelet. The menu at Good Stuff is big though. Maybe some of their other breakfast options are more satisfying. Free parking is available on the street. read more

My family and I went for breakfast on Halloween and they were very busy. We waited only 15 minutes to be seated. They were quick in getting tables ready for their next customers. Our server was Gustavo and he was attentive, friendly, and quick. As soon as we sat down other staff asked if we needed drinks. Very friendly staff. We appreciate that even though they were very busy they did their best in getting our food quickly and still checked in on us for any missing or needed items. The food was amazing as always. It's a strawberry puree, banana, peanut butter explosion of rich, creamy, decadent flavor in your mouth. It's 400something cals on its own but it's worth it. Other winners on the menu include their CA Wrap which features freshly (albeit thinly) sliced turkey, bacon (thin normal bacon =-/ ) etc all wrapped in a spinach tortilla. I've also had the turkey bacon avocado burger which is a nice healthy change up from lamb burgers in my arteries. The patty was not dried out which can sometimes happen. All the veggies were fresh and crispy and the avocado slices were a good balance of firm but not mushy. Got the buffalo chicken sandwich special today which was like 3 chicken tenders + sauce and a nice healthy heaping of spinach leaves (love that they did this instead of boring, nutrition-lacking lettuce!) on a nice fresh french roll. Nice quality bread. Fries are the thicker type (not steak fries), crispy, not overly salted. Very great, fresh fries. Taste like double blanched. Not greasy at all. True ensemble service here. All the servers help each other. It's not uncommon to be waited, served, and checked on by 3+ different servers. They are a team and I really appreciate that. No one ever waits on a refill here. I even looked around the entire restaurant and could not find a near empty glass. Very impressive. Lovely, heated, covered, connected outdoor eating area. Normally you pay the price for eating outside in terms of attention from the wait staff but not here. Good mix of tables and booths inside and out. Some of the indoor tables are a little too close together for my liking and in one instance resulted in a gentleman listening and laughing at one of my jokes I was telling to my party...I'll take it as a compliment and move on. Like all places in this area of El Seg, parking is a disaster but it is what it is, we are used to it and brave it anyway cuz this place is that good. You can get lucky w/ parallel street parking around the island off the front entrance. Just mind the curb color cuz there's a lot of red (some faded and remember you're in an area w/ a lot of bored beach cops) so be careful! read more

Went there for the first time for breakfast, too bad it took so long to come here considering it's about 3 minutes from the house and it was great. Nice cozy atmosphere, looks great for dinner, but I had the breakfast special a mozzarella/spinach omelet with turkey and artichoke hearts, it was great. My girl ordered the breakfast wrap, like a great tasting breakfast burrito, both came with potatoes or fruit. Service was good, it was a typical morning being a little busy. $26 w\ a tip. This place is GREAT!! They cater to everyone - heath nuts, good old diner eaters, and beach bums. LOVE IT! (probably cause it suits my multiple personalities. hehe) I love their omelets here and they have some wonderful pancakes! The food is fresh and you really can't go wrong with any order. The coffee is good too and they have juices also. The feel of the place is a beach diner - so you get some comfy booths, nice tables with cushy chairs and a great outdoor seating area with the same seating options plus some additional wicker chairs. I've only been to this place for breakfast and I'll say that I've never been disappointed with their food. The breakfast is good, the coffee is good and the service is pretty good also. I have never been to this location but I have been to Hermosa Beach on The Strand many, many times. Although this one doesn't quite share the same ambiance, I feel they did a good job trying to make it feel beachy and "California". I was actually flying out so this location worked perfectly being minutes from LAX. I ordered what I almost always order- the Island special. The barracuda once again was grilled to perfection with just the right about of seasoning and super juicy. I had eggs, fruit and an English muffin with that. We ordered takeout on a Sunday around 11 and it was pretty busy (as to be expected). Everyone who helped us was patient and made sure we had everything we needed. We both ordered the two egg breakfast with pancakes. Not only did they pack the eggs separately from the pancakes (a key play in my book), but they also gave a ton of condiments. They had our order ready well before the time we were told it would take. Major plus! Eggs were delicious with their salsa which was even better! Loved the menu options and the food is tasty. But . . . Service is awful! It takes a long time to get waiter to take order, and then get food served. The waiter has to cover sooo many tables, he never has time to check in to see if you need something (ie hot sauce, extra napkins or syrup). So waiters never returns to refill coffee/water unless you flag them down or at end of meal. Finally, to get check and make payment takes forever! For that reason, we don't like to go there because it takes so long to get in and out. I've been there 3 times and always feel anxious & exhausted because it's such a "struggle" trying to get our very busy waiter's attention. I like all of the GOOD STUFF locations, they're solid places to find a nice breakfast in the Beach Cities. This one is inland, so not by the beach and without a typical California oceanside view some may want. It's in a very nice neighborhood with lots of stores and plenty of people. The average breakfast is about $10, and the portions are right for fit folks, so if you've got a big appetite and a small budget, you'd probably be better off at Denny's, Norms or iHop. If you like a nice environment, fresh quality food, healthy menu options and service, Good Stuff probably has the right stuff for you. The waffles are my favorite, they have a 1/2 waffle, eggs and bacon combo. I think at the same price, since batter doesn't cost that much, it could be a better deal if they just included a full waffle. However, I think in the health conscious South Bay, where slim figures prevail, maybe it's a "doing what's in the best interests to serve the clientele" and helping customers with portion control to watch their waistlines. Parking at this location seems fairly easy or I make that comment regarding a weekday morning breakfast knowing the area has 2 hr parking spots (and no meters) along the street and adjacent neighborhood residential streets. If you're a parking rookie, make sure you pay attention to the street signs regarding when there's street cleaning and when you can't park, as well as the green colored curbs which means a 20 minute time limit. read more

I have been looking for a good place to get a salad around my job and my coworker suggested Good Stuff. The restaurant itself isn't huge but it is nice and clean. It is located about a minute or two from my office so already that is a plus. I put in my order over the phone for a Chinese steak salad. They told me this place takes a while to prepare the food and they weren't kidding so definitely place your order ahead of time. The salad was really good. Our party of four ordered: Blackened & Blue Bacon Burger w/pineapple cole slaw Guacamole Pepper Jack Burger M & M Burger w/cup of soup Turkey Bacon Melt My Blackened & Blue Bacon Burger was great! The patty was cooked just as I had requested and the bun was very soft. I also like the slaw as it wasn't too wet and had just the right of sweetness. The other virgin co-workers enjoyed their burgers as well, and the one who brought us here has only ever had the Turkey Bacon Melt. It's so good that he hasn't ordered anything else to try. I recommend the Breakfast salad, which is scrambled eggs with ground turkey, served over a bed of lettuce and topped with caesar dressing. Sounds weird but it's delicious. Their menu is quite large, so it usually takes me a while to decide. They also offer healthier, lighter options for those watching their waistbands. If your entree comes with a choice of side, get the muffins! Their cranberry muffins are absolutely divine. Pass on the coffee, which is too expensive. I went here on a Sunday afternoon and it was a little busy. I love that they serve breakfast until 5pm. I ordered the crabby benedict ($10) and it was so good! It's basically 2 crabby patties topped with 2 poached eggs and tons of hollandaise sauce. The crab was tasty and not too fishy and the eggs and hollandaise sauce were rich and scrumptious. It's hard to find good eggs benedict but Good Stuff passed the test. It comes with your choice of fruit or potatoes. I went with hash browns but they were pretty burnt. Next time I'll get the fruit. came by after the farmer's market. nice location around the corner from Main. newer looking building than their counterparts lined up and down the blocks. the hostess was extremely nice and helpful. initially, i was perturbed by our server who was spending an inordinate amount of time chatting it up with some locals/friends of hers. don't get me wrong, chat it up and be friendly, but, don't let the rest of the customers be left on their own. she finally freed herself and got to the table next to us and got their drink orders. not ours though, and we sat first. the hostess, sweet girl, got us our drink orders. our server finally got to us and we placed our orders. she redeemed herself for the most part the rest of the service. the other server that was there was also helpful. mama got the southwestern chicken salad, i got the chicken chile verde and sofia got the mac n cheese. mama really liked her salad. her ranch dressing was very satisfactory as well. usually, she's really picky on those two items. my chile verde sauce and seasoning was great. good flavors. the chicken on the otherhand left a lot to be desired. they used all dark meat, which i'm not a big fan of. but, i was hungry and don't waste food. sofi's mac n cheese... well... let's just say that we usually pay $4 less when we buy it in the box at the grocery store. but, maybe they justify that because it comes with a ready pac cup of peaches??? overall, a mediocre to average meal. the service recovered from the initial 2 star rating i was going to hand down. the hostess and the other server were on top of things (hence the 3rd star) and our server eventually made up for initially overlooking us. we'll probably come back simply due to proximity. maybe i'll try something else next time. read more
