GOODONYA is the best place for healthy, organic, farm to table DELICIOUS food in Encinitas. Have been visiting this eatery since they originally opened. Went the other night for a special event with a group of friends. We shared all our dishes and as always, the food tasted fantastic. Chicken and pancakes, potato skin shepherds pie, stuffed mushrooms, lentil soup, and many more yummy goodies. Love the dog-friendly patio and the atmosphere is vibrantly positive. Awfully slow. I just dined there for lunch. 30 minutes after I ordered, no food. No drink. No water! I can't justify coming back here when I can't count on good service. Or event decent service. Just terrible. Our waitress was MIA. When I did spot her a few times, she was visiting with patrons and chatting it up. At one point, she sat down at a table with guests while she took their order (it was a large party). On another occasion, she took out her cell phone and started showing pictures to a guest. After trying to flag her down multiple times, I went up to the hostess stand and paid my bill so I could leave. The food tasted alright, but the fries were cold, so I had to send them back. They swap ingredients to make it more vegan/vegetarian friendly...while sacrificing quality and tate. The tortillas are grain free, a boon to some, but they taste like it...denying centuries of tradition and knowledge, these tortillas are thin, tough, and flavorless. The same goes for pretty much everything else, the meat, eggs, vegetables (pretty much all), and baked goods, are seriously missing in the flavor department. Must be a great eatery.....but, I wouldn't know, though we tried. My wife and I made a special effort to lunch there, today. Busy, yes, but... Diffident hostess told us that there would be a 5 minute table wait, so.....we waited. No problem. When she timely came to retrieve us, she escorted us to a chilly outside table (...without asking our indoor/outdoor preference). O'side heaters were in sight, but not used.....Strike one. Menus on the table.....but, an entire section of outdoor diners, selves included, simply weren't approached, acknowledged or serviced. Strike two. 10 minutes ticked by, chocks out, done and done. Strike three. Departed and moved up the block to another establishment where we were welcomed, promptly served and ultimately satisfied. They have good food here but it's incredibly overpriced, especially for the portions. I got a breakfast burrito with bacon and a Siete cassava flour tortilla and it was $20. The tortilla was $4 itself which is incredibly high compared to what it costs to buy a package in the store (like $10 for 8 of them). It cost me close to $30 for a small burrito with barely any bacon on it and a dirty chai latte. I'm not doubting the quality of ingredients here but it's just not an economical place to eat, especially during these times. read more

Our first time to this delightful little spot near swami's beach in Cardiff. Stopped in for a late breakfast today with my number one goal, a couple of amazing coffee, and my husbands goal, a delicious and filling salad. Check and check! I had the protein breakfast plate which was perfectly seasoned and delicious-eggs scrambled, cheese, crimini mushrooms, and delicious sausage. With two slices of praggers brothers sourdough toast Yum! And yet still I was jealous of my husband's Thai salad! Beautiful colorful fresh veggies with an amazing cashew-herb spread and the most delicious dressing I can imagine. We both fought over each other's dishes. Needless to say, we will be back! Sorry for being gross, but it absolutely does clean you out so depending on your preferences, you can either call it a positive or negative. Either way, afterwards it's easy to replenish your body with something good for it. Almost everything food-wise is organic and non GMO. Salads, sandwiches, and protein wraps are all delicious and at a pretty fair price for such amazingly simple sustenance. It's always packed and it's really no surprise. Reminds me of Portland. Very down to earth place with friendly people, good food, and creative menu. The golden milk is different but good. Coconut milk with honey and turmeric. The salads were good. The pizza crust is gluten free. It's the only time I've ever had gluten free product that seemed palatable. Don't get me wrong, it's still gluten free.... nothing like the real things, but pretty good for gluten free. People were super friendly. They make homemade nut mills that are unsweetened, and it's just a restaurant you can trust to have the most amazing quality, local ingredients. Anything on the menu is insane. I am definitely a fan of super cute cafes and organic food, and if my rating was solely based on the ambiance, this cafe definitely deserves a 5/5! However, the food I ordered was sub-par and nothing too special, making my rating lower than expected. I ordered the power breakfast wrap, which was a coconut wrap filled with eggs, ham, cheese, and avocado. The wrap was interesting, but I wasn't too big a fan of the coconut wrap since it tasted like a sheet of dried coconut flakes. The filing was also very greasy--the eggs and ham were greasy and I was expecting something more light since there was also a lot of cheese added. The wrap was also pretty small for the price, and it wasn't too worth it, other than for the cuteness of the cafe. However, the drinks looked better than the food and I wish I got a chance to try some of the drinks! Ordered dinner tonight through DoorDash. My order came in with quinoa on it and I am allergic. I did not realize that was the base of the chicken Pesto dish I ordered. When I called GoodOnya, they promptly helped me change it to a sautéed vegetable base. Wow! What a delicious dinner I ended up with! Had to return something at the New Realization Center, and recently got a recommendation for "Goodonya" which was more or less across the 101. Decided to see how "vegan-friendly" this place was. Split a vegan veggie burrito. It took thirty-five minutes for it to come out, however. Will need to see if this slow service is normal. Lot's of interesting people in this place. One guy was dead ringer for Jesus and one gal was wearing a plunging evening gown. They have vegan waffles and make their own syrups. Will try this place for breakfast. Dog friendly. Street parking. I've been hoping to come here for the longest time, but it's a drive so I made a trip over it. After walking the street fair, my dad and I picked from their giant list of coffee drinks. They had three cold brews on nitro, lattes with homemade coconut milk and butter, and mochas. They have kombuchas in the refrigerator case. The menu is huge - breakfasts, burritos, and sandwiches - and you can pick coconut wrap, gluten-free bread, or just flour tortillas. I got their Mexican cold brew and breakfast burrito (without beans). Dad got the protein wrap. The only complaint was that the ham was rather salty. There was so much food though that I have leftovers now. I also got a cinnamon roll, but not before asking what was in it... the cashier brought up a whole book, laminated with all the ingredients for every food item!
