I come to this location for their oil change specials and for new tires. The people are typically very friendly. I have had two issues that left me less than thrilled: First was when I was told that I needed all new rotors due to surface wear from pads that had worn down to metal. I asked why this wear problem was not raised during my previous visit for oil change + inspection. I take my car in religiously for oil changes and they say they always check break pad wear as part of the service. So there should have never been this much pad wear if they were indeed checking. I told the counter rep this and the response I got was that the particular technician that had previously inspected my car was known for cutting corners and that he had been let go for this reason. I argued that I didn't think it was right for me to absorb the entire price since my rotors wouldn't have been damaged if they had done a proper inspection. They didn't offer anything other than a "sorry". Second issue was recently when I went for an oil change and was told my rack'pinion boot was "completely torn off" and thus I needed a fully rebuilt rack'pinion setup, to the time of $1,200. I told them I would consider them when I got home I check the boot and it was torn, but not "off" and it appeared to be relatively recent since it was still leaking grease (not dry like it would be for a fully torn boot). So I took the car to a local shop and got a new boot installed with front alignment for a total of $150 (thanks S&D Automotive!). Car drives great (just back from 600 mile trip) with only a boot replaced vs entire sub-system. Great oil change specials and friendly staff. Buyer beware on all other work. read more

This used to be my go to tire place, until they had a "management change". I made an appointment and explained in depth what I needed done. The guy on the phone said it wouldnt be a problem. I come in the next day and they take my wheels and tires. I call about an hour later for an update and the guy goes "yeah sorry we cant do this". Soooo, when was I going to get a call informing me if refusal of service? The tech claimed it's due to "new management". He then had the audacity to tell me he wouldnt charge me because he "didnt write anything up". Write all you want, you refuse to do the work, you will not get paid. Will not be back. I came down to Shingle Springs from Lake Tahoe to have my Subaru looked at at a dealership. I also desperately needed new tires but was waiting to purchase them until I knew the outcome from having an inspection done on the issue my car was having. Decided to have new tires put on while here since most of the Tahoe tire shops & mechanics were backed up with installs due to recent snow storms. Contacted Goodyear & they were able to order the tires from their warehouse that I had researched on Tire Rack & Consumer Reports. They arranged to have the tires in-house the next morning. My wife and I were on the road for my birthday trip on March 24, 2017. It was our first weekend away from our kids in 5 years and scheduled to be a great weekend in Tahoe. I was crushed when the air pressure light came on in Shingle Springs, CA. Luckily I found the Goodyear Auto Service Center there. The shop was busy, and the sales associate (Clyde) let us know that he was not able to promise a timeframe, but he would get us in as soon as possible. He was amazingly back to us in 30 minutes to let us know the car had been checked and that we had two dangerously flat tires. We had saved money for our trip, but were forced to spend most of it on the tires. Clyde was understanding and made sure that he got us the best deal possible and had us out the door in another 45 minutes on our way to the vacation. It is rare to find such great customer service and you should be proud of Clyde and the team at the store at 4000 Durock Rd in Shingle Springs. I have been a loyal customer of a competitor for over 15 years, and came to Goodyear out of necessity. I will now use Goodyear for maintenance whenever possible thanks to this great team. read more

Awful service with horrible customer service!!! I recently took my daughters paddle tires( for her quad) in to this store, so that they could swap the paddle tire to her dirt tire. After two days of no communication my husband finally called and they said they were ready. Upon arrival my dirt tires were on the wheels but my sand tires were missing, come to find out they threw them away because they cut a chunk out of one of them to remove the RIM!!!! These were perfectly good tires and no one asked permission to cut on my tires or throw them away! I specifically asked for them to save my tires because I still wanted to use them!!! I personally spoke with the manager to discuss what we could do to resolve this issue of me now not having my set of paddle tires. The manager said he would not replace my tires, and could only mount my next set of tires for free. I have no idea why I would ever bring in my vehicle after something so simple was messed up so horribly. This still did not help the fact that I am now out a set of perfectly good paddle tires. I have had several problems with my car and had gotten different estimates and some with out service crew even doing hands on to inspect. I was told from a friend to take my car to Goodyear so I did. The crew was outstanding in customer service. Although the type of issues with my car needed to be taken to a specialist for some of the repairs, the crew here was able to correctly diagnose my car problems and direct me into the next step. We've used this store several times now, and while the staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, etc., we have continued to have unsatisfactory experiences. I recently went in with a bad tire that needed to get replaced. When I called several hours later, they said it was finished. In reality, the bad tire had not been replaced and when brought to their attention, they quickly apologized and put the new one on. What if I had driven off not realizing the error? Trusting this was just an honest mistake, we went in again to have additional work done. We just got the vehicle back and they failed to put back together a substantial part of the air flow system, it was literally just sitting loose when I opened the hood. I own a truck, two cars, two Jeeps, a motorhome, and a trailer, so as you might imagine I buy a lot of tires. This was my first time at the Shingle Springs Goodyear store. I found the store clean and well laid out. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They were also good listeners, and did exactly what I asked them to do. I was told it would take about an hour to install the new tires on my truck. The work was completed in about 45 minutes. The waiting area is comfortable, and has a big screen TV, a good assortment of current magazines, and free coffee. I am very pleased to find a good quality tire store close to my house. There is a Big O Tire in Cameron Park but it is a horrendously awful business. read more

I took my vehicle here when I thought Big-O in Shingle Springs was trying to rip me off. Big-O claimed that I needed new brake bads, which I doubted. I let the people at Good Year know about my issue and they put my vehicle up on the rack, pulled my brake pads, and showed me that there was quite a bit of pad left on them. They also quoted me a price on changing them that was $60 less than Big-O. Thank you Good Year. You will be getting my future automotive business. Big-O sucks. read more

Got a flat coming home from wine tasting, was able to get to these folks in Shingle Springs. Feared they would have to put a new tire on but they immediately put someone on it and determined it could be fixed. Thirty minutes later back on the road AND no charge for the repair. They have swapped managers since my last experience here which was horrendous. They used to be a very shady shop ran much differently than it is now all I can say is they have changed so much. They are extremely customer friendly and honest now. They compete with pricing at other tire shops in the area very well and their service is just all around outstanding I will happily go here over the other tire shops in the area any day. Their new manager is three times better than their old one and much, I mean much more understanding of their customers needs and wants. He will work with you every step of the way to please you and your cars needs. Definitely recommend going in talking to them in person. read more

I took my car here for an alignment. My car was pulling to the right. After I got my car back it still was pulling to the right. I called and told them. The lady said to bring it in. So I did. Not 3 minutes later, did she come back and tell me my alignment was good. It was my 3 brand new tires I just purchased an hour ago that were not aligned. I'm pretty sure that my car wouldn't be pulling the same if they had aligned my car. It just doesn't make sense. I spent $80 for an "alignment". Very dissatisfied. Will be going to a different Goodyear to get my alignment looked at and redone for FREE OF CHARGE. read more

I stopped in here two weeks ago for tires for my 2015 Jeep Cherokee. I explained that I would be trading it in later this year so wanted something safe, but the tires didn't need to be top of the line. Clyde showed me a few options, but they did not have the tires I wanted in stock. He could have sent me somewhere else or tried to talk me in to a more expensive tire, but instead offered me an even better deal on the tires if I was willing to wait a few days. The tires came in quickly and they were able to complete the job in a hour. I appreciated that my business was important enough for Clyde to work with me. I had a flat tire on Friday December 23rd (pouring rain) and had called a tow truck to change the tire. He suggested I go to Goodyear Tire (Shingle Springs) which was right down the road because the tire could be repaired (small nail). I drove over there and was told they could not repair it but could order me a new tire (not the Parreli tire that was on my car but another brand) that would arrive on Monday the 26th. I told them I would just go to Firestone which was down the road from my home. Then they could suddenly order the exact tire on my car but it would be $209. I declined and went home. I called around to numerous tire stores and American Tire (Folsom) had my tires in stock for $160. I went to American Tire on Saturday morning and they immediately told me the tire could be repaired. I was there 10 minutes and it was free. So Goodyear wanted to charge me $209 + labor for a tire that was easily repairable. read more

Love these guys. The most honest and reasonably priced auto repair/tire shop I have ever gone to. They are always straight up about when my tires need to be changed as well as other repairs. So many times over the past 5-6 years they could've nailed me for various repairs that I thought I needed (maybe I heard a weird noise or noticed a leak) and these guys consistently are honest. My steering wheel shimmy's at high speeds, so I thought it would need an alighnment. They inspected my tires and noticed uneven wear and recommended that I come back in a few months for new tires. An alighment would have been a waste of money, but they didn't take advantage of me. read more

I have been getting my tires and tire repair with Good Year on Durock for the last 5+ years. They have always done well by me with price and customer service. I am constantly on a tight budget and they have ALWAYS worked with me and made things work with my budget. Today one of my tires decided that it would look beautiful with a giant screw in it. I was at work, couldn't get away so I had my truck towed there from Placerville, they patched the hole for $20 and saved my day! First off I have a lifted 2005 Toyota Tacoma with 35 inch mud tires on it. I had a tire issue and was referred to Goodyear in Shingle Springs because they do good work with four-wheel-drive and bigger tires. The service manager I dealt with was Kelly, he was very professional and very helpful. They got me in and out really fast. I had a 10 AM appointment and they took care me and got me out of there by 11 AM. From now on I will always use this location for any of my tire needs. Customer service/communication was horrible. I called the night before to see if I could have 4 tires and two rims swapped by 8:30 if I arrived when they opened at 7am, to be sure they could and would have a guy available to get started. When I arrived I was told it would take a couple of hours and I replied that was not what I was told and I had work crew arriving at 9am and needed to be home. The counter rep said nothing and entered my info. When i noticed no one was doing anything in the garage, one guy just standing around, they informed me that the only one working was on another task and they wouldn't start until another guy arrived at 8am. WHY was i not told that at the counter when I'd said I needed to be out of there by 8:30? They had no intention of starting til 8am after I got up at 6am to be there at 7. Staff couldn't be bothered to say so but wasted half hour til I asked why they hadn't even started?? They could have told me when i arrived nobody would even start on it til 8am so I could decide to try elsewhere or tell my crew to hold off arrival. I quickly called Big O down the street who took me immediately and got the job done. read more

My front tires were wobbling on the freeway. I called in, spoke with Andy, and I was first, very impressed by the sheer amount of time that he took with me over the phone to diagnose my problem. We, basically, set an appointment. I was there on time. They had my car in the shop within 5 minutes and successfully rebalanced and rotated all four of my tires at no charge per my lifetime warranty. Thanks guys! read more

We made an appointment to change all four tires. They said they had the tires we wanted in stock and would hold them for us for the appointment. We arrived for our appointment to find out that they only had three tires. They claimed that one of the tires was sold the day before. They offered a $35 discount and said they would replace all four tires the next day. We kept our truck at the shop overnight so they could take care of the tires first thing in the morning, like they said they would do. We arrived to pick up our truck at 3:00, and they still had not put on the new tires. My husband stood at the front counter for more than five minutes waiting for someone to come in from wherever they were. When the service tech finally came to the counter, he told my husband that our truck was next. We refused, asked for our key, and left. I don't even feel they deserve one star because they failed to provide a service they promised us...twice. read more

This has got to be the worst experience I've ever had with a automotive shop! About two months ago I went and got an oil change by this company, and ever since then everything has just gone downhill. I had a flat on one of my tires and I also had an oil leak after I got my oil changed by Goodyear so I tried to kill two birds with one stone and get them both fixed at the same time. The staff said it would be no problem to fix both at the same time and I got them both back within about an hour and a half. Two days after I got the tire fixed it was completely flat and I still had an oil leak! I will be going back in about a day to get the oil leak fixed and I will never be returning! The customer service was satisfactory and the establishment was very clean but they were extremely slow and I had to wait an hour and a half just for them to fix my tire again after the tire went flat for the second time! read more

Seriously happy with this Goodyear every time I need them... They continue to provide outstanding service and fair, honest prices. They don't try to up sell anything that isn't needed, but give the most fair price with good work for those things that are needed.
