I used to eat weekly at the Everett location, and miss it terribly every day. I always mean to stop in at this location, but I have too many other favorite restaurants in the area and have to alternate between all of them. I am happy to see that this location is back in full swing and was able to recover after the explosion. I appreciate that this has a small parking lot and is reasonably priced which does make the decision to choose it a little easier. I also really love the giant painting on the outside wall and appreciate that they support local artists on the walls inside. The pictures of the babies with burritos always make me smile too. My favorite item continues to be the tofu fajita burrito. I don't even like green peppers, but always eat them when they are served up deliciously in this burrito. I have had tofu at other places in burritos but it often lacks flavor and here it is scrumptious. I am also a fan of the chips and the warm salsa you get. The salsa bar is also a nice touch as I think everything tastes better with lots of onions and cilantro on top. I wish I was closer so I could eat this for lunch once a week. read more

In my humble opinion it is not easy to find good Mexican food here in the Pacific Northwest. The wife is a native Southern Californian so automatically she fancies herself a connoisseur of fine Mexican food. Whatever. We've eaten quite a few places but we don't really love many of them. Enter Gorditio's. Right off the bat I like this place because of all of the eye-popping art starting with the big chameleon on the side of the building. Look out for him as he is huge! Second notice all the pictures on the wall of newborn babies next to these gigantic burritos. Kinda Freaky. Last thing I noted before actually having the food is the layout of the place. I've never been to a real sit-down restaurant where the grill is right by the door. That in itself isn't a positive or negative just worth noting. We started our journey with chips and salsa which were really good. The chips tasted pretty fresh unlike some other Mexican eateries I have patronized and the salsa was also tasty. I ordered the steak fajitas in a casadilla and to put it plain it was exquisite. Perfectly seasoned. The cheese was all melty and gooey. Here's the cherry on top: The tortilla was nice and crispy! I LOVE texture! I didn't do dessert or horchata. I don't usually write reviews until I've been to a place a couple times but I felt compelled to tell you I found good Mexican. The place could have been a little cleaner as there was debris on the floor in some places but nothing gross or off putting. So worth the trip! read more

Dear Gordito's - sometimes I have wondered if I truly understand love. Why did she have to break my heart? Will I ever truly be able to love again? But then I think about the shrimp burrito I have ordered three times now. Surely, this is a pure love. A bond that can't be broken. I always tell myself that I will only eat half. Fun place with decent food. They need to clean up the way they cook, though. Big time. Food prep methods were gross , and, with their visible kitchen layout, plain as day to anyone who walks in. They pour to-go orders over the ingredients table (where they have the lettuce and stuff) and i watched the to-go burrito sauce miss the to-go box and land all over the sour cream/lettuce. I've had this place bookmarked for about 4 years and never got around to trying it out until today. We made the mistake of thinking the "burrito" would be a regular sized burrito. Well, it isn't really. It's still huge. So if you're not trying to be super full, maybe split it with your dining companion, order something else, or save some of it for later (not sure how well it'd hold up though). I ordered the steak burrito, dry. (There is an option to get your burrito "wet", which is basically a smothered burrito. Weird side note: I wish they'd call it smothered instead of wet... I find that wording to be so unappetizing.) Your food comes with chips and salsa which is sooo nice. I feel like that's a rarity nowadays, when in my childhood I swear everything Mexican place we frequented gave complimentary chips and salsa. The chips and salsa aren't anything super special at this place, but they're nice if you're hungry and want something to munch on while you wait. Speaking of the wait, it probably only took about 5 minutes to get our food. We were pretty shocked at the size of our burritos, but I ended up eating a little more than 3/4 of it. My sister only finished a little over 1/2 so it really depends on how much you can eat, how hungry you are, if you ate earlier, etc. The burrito itself was pretty good, not mind blowing, but definitely a solid burrito that I can appreciate. I think next time I'd order a smothered burrito to try that out. The fajita prawn burrito looked appealing as well, as did most of the items I saw on their menu. Definitely going to have to come back here because they have a huge menu. Another thing to note: the pricing was very fair. I've seen signs for Godito's for a while now since I am in the Greenwood neighborhood fairly often. I finally decided to go in and give the place a try! They have a huge menu of all kinds of various Mexican dishes and many varieties of different things like burritos and such. I ordered a potato burrito which was very good! It had a little bit of kick to it which I have been hoping to get and have not had in such a long time! If you want the burrito wet then you get a kind of red sauce put on it. The ingredients taste fresh and you get free chips and salsa with your order. In the dining area there is a salsa bar along with some other garnishes that you can add to your dish. I have friends who are obsessed with Gorditos, so I decided to join them coming here. They kept talking about a "Baby Burrito" and for my first visit - I decided to get one (I will never order a baby burrito for just myself ever again). It was cheap, and I actually ate it for 2 meals. The burrito is literally the size of a newborn baby. The burrito was delicious - it was packed with flavor and freshness. It also came out really quick. I got the "Dry Style", but I think I want to try the "Wet Style" next time (basically if they put sauce and salsa on top of your burrito or not). I could have used more sauce on my burrito. You get a free basket (or two) of chips, and you can choose from ~8 authentic salsas that vary in spice and tomato. I munched on these way too fast because they filled me up before my burrito came out! The menu has many options to choose from, so I can't wait until my next visit to try something different. Great memories of this place. It was one of my favorite places in town for the past couple decades. Unfortunately, they've decided not to reopen their dinning room. I've eaten take out here a couple times...... and it just isn't the same. I hope one day they'll completely reopen but as of now..... I can't bring myself to eat out of take out boxes, bags and ramekins. It's a huge restaurant space that has basically reduced itself to a take out window. Just a completely different experience. No more fresh, hot chips. No more piping hot food on a plate. The quesadillas now come cut up and stacked in a wrapped tin foil. No more of that amazing crushed, pebble ice for the soda fountain (I know that sounds weird but it was really good). No more meeting friends for lunch and/or dinner. Very sad. I miss it. read more

This is the best burrito place i have eaten at in Washington State. That is nothing to sniff at. But this place is something to eat at. Something special. My cousin recommended we get take out and I was the lucky one to lug these burritos home. The grandes are huge and at least a pound each (see their wall of "burritos next to babies" photos). We got two steak grande burritos and a kids quesadilla. As tough as they were to carry, they were easier to eat and i ate 80 percent of my grande, and the only reason i didn't finish it was over (what i believe to be) falsely veiled self-respect. I got my burrito spicy and it had steak, cheese, rice, beans, jalapenos, pico, and guac. It was A TASTY BURRITO MY FRIEND! I can't believe I've never been here before. My wife and I finally decided to try Gordito's a local Greenwood staple - famous for they're baby sized burritos. Of course, I had to get the giant burrito. Yes, it is absolutely baby sized! I would say that is even more than 2 chipotle burritos. I cut it in half and could barely finish the half. I don't remember the price exactly but it was like $15 after tax. So from a value POV, it's great. My wife got the carne asada plate. Which was also generous in portion. Now for the actual food itself, I honestly thought the burrito was very average. Super rice and beans-y. Without salsa, it would border on being bland. I can confidently say the chicken at Chipotle is marinated with much for flavored. I also think the beans at Chipotle are much better. That being said, Chipotle is guaranteed waaaay more sodium and probably unhealthier. My wife also said the carne asada was so-so. Gorditos is officially opened again! I'm so happy! We brought our 5 week old son and honored the tradition of taking his picture with their Baby Burrito. It was delicious...the burrito, not the baby. They will even make it fajita style where sautée the veggies. My husband and I split the burrito and a half order of nachos and it was quite filling. Their iced tea is really refreshing. My only complaint is that it gets warm in there but today's high was 91 and the door was always open since it was their first day open since the explosion. You can't go wrong here. I remember the first time I got kissed by a girl. I was in 3rd grade and a girl snuck up besides me and put a wet one on my cheek. That moment changed my life as now my only goal in life is to make out with other girls. My first time visiting Gorditos's was like that life changing moment. After a short day at work someone suggested we try this place for lunch. We rolled right by the store front as it's hard to see off the road. The parking lot is gravel and the place isn't much to look at from the front. But hell this is a Mexican restaurant and not Chez Francois downtown so I'm not looking for white tablecloths and suave Pierre to take my order. So the menu has a good variety of stuff for some decent prices. I got the full order of the carne asada nachos from very nice people who run the register. It ran about $9 but the best part was that they give me a tiny donkey pinata with a number on it to put on the table. Now anytime I see a pinata I have always had a good time. That's when I knew this place was going to be awesome. Then the food arrives. Huge plate of nachos piled with a ton of carne asada and enough chips, cheese and other greasy stuff to make me smile. It was one huge plate of nachos which begs me to have a heart attack by the time I hit 35... basically the way I like it! My coworkers challenged me to put it all down. Those FOOLS! I was the first one done and I just wanted more! The others ordered a burrito and they were huge. Those wimps cried about how they couldn't finish theirs and had to get those girly take home boxes. Sissies! Real men finish their plates and never take home food! How dare they break the code! I had their horchata which was excellent. Since then I've tired their burrito grande and quesadilla which were fabulous. They pile on meat and the food has good flavor. I'm not sure about the healthy part but this is Mexican food! If you want to rabbit food go to Trader Joe's or where ever all those cheery people eat that have a reason to live forever. I stick to getting my burritos with their grilled steak and l like how they stuff their them with beans, salsa, rice, guacamole and all that goodness. Another thing I like about the place is their salsa bar which also offers cilantro, onions and pickled veggies to top your meal. I love to top my burrito will all that. I haven't got around to try their beverages yet since I usually don't have room in my belly for that. But I have heard they're pretty good. read more

If you've seen those pictures of burritos as big as a newborn infant, this is the place that delivers those giant masterpieces. The place itself isn't the "prettiest" place, but it definitely has a comfortable, family filled vibe to it. You wait in line and there are menus for you to look at. The menu is simple and easy. Then someone will take your order on a small sheet which he/she will hand to you after you are done ordering. You bring the small sheet to the cashier and then pay for your food. They'll give you the cute little pinatas with names attached to them for you to take to your table. Right next to the cashier is where you get some complimentary chips and salsa. Next to that station you can find three different kinds of salsa, and then the water station. There is a shelf just to the left of the water station where they have a bunch of boxes for you to take if you have any leftovers. You can find forks, straws and knives right next to the salsa station. Everything is quite easy to find and up to you to pick what you need - I found this to be really nice. There is a lot of seats as well, and outdoor seating for the warm days! The tables and chairs aren't the most luxurious, and some of the chairs were a bit dirty. We tried two of the salsas, as well as the fresh, warm salsa that they give you with your chips. All the salsas were pretty good (the spicy one definitely has a kick) but I think the one that's warm is the best one. The chips are lovely. They are super thin and crisp. Perfect little chips to munch on while you wait. And the wait isn't even that long before your food comes out! We got the infamous baby burrito. Yes, it is huge, and I would probably share. There is nothing "healthy" about this giant portion size. We got ours "wet" and with steak. The burrito itself is full of rice, beans, cubes of steak, salsa and guacamole. The whole thing is smothered in sauce, but not too much that it's drenched. Then it's topped with cheese. I think it's a good idea to keep some salsa on the side because the inside can feel a little on the dry side because of all the rice. The steak pieces were yummy and it tasted like a pretty good burrito. There wasn't anything that overly "wow-ed" me, but I'm glad that even with something this big, the quality didn't suffer. I think it could have used a bit more guacamole too, because I couldn't taste it in some of my bites. The wilting lettuce on the side is a little sad, but we just decided not to touch it. We also decided to get a half order of chicken nachos. The chicken was so delicious. It was grilled to perfect, tender and moist. Sadly because the chips are so thin, they do start to get on the soggy side because of all the toppings. The cheese is good, but then it starts to harden and I'm sure you know how that is. However, they were a pretty good contrast to the giant burrito which offered many forkfuls. Service here was wonderful. They have humor and make sure that you enjoy everything. I really felt like home here. You bus your own table afterwards. You can place all your plates on the shelf underneath where all the to-go boxes go. The portion size on the baby burrito is giant and we had a corner left and a lot of nachos to go. Price is definitely good. For the amount you get, everything is pretty cheap. We left super, super stuffed and had leftovers all for less than $25. Food was about 3 stars on average, but service took it to the next star. It didn't wow me, other than the size of the thing, but the meal was really filling and still good. I will take my food coma self to bed now. read more

For burritos the size of a burro, come here! I always forget how huge the food is at Gordito's until I visit them again.. it is then and only then, that I remember the true meaning of 'wet jumbo'. I don't head to Gordi's all that much because, in all honesty, I'm not much of a fan of huge portions, because usually, if it's in front of me- I'll eat it. Sad, I know. Put a wet burrito and a bowl of their never ending chips and salsa within arms reach of me and well.. I'll probably put most of it away.. Pretty disgusting (if you've seen a Gordito's Jumbo), I know. I'm not proud of it.. but it's just the way it is. Today, I played it safe and ordered the Fish Burrito on Whole Wheat to go. Aside from being just a tad too salty, it was pretty dang good! The fish was charbroiled and the cabbage and the cilantro really made it taste fresh. Fast service with a smile and they always keep that long line moving. If you, your brother, sister, aunt, uncle, and best friend are ever jonesin' for some 'Healthy Mexican Food', go see Gordi' You absolutely cannot go wrong with one of their 'Plates'. This review very much takes value into account. Gordito's isn't quite on the level of, say, La Carta de Oaxaca. It's definitely an unprepossessing place, doesn't even have table service. But, man, the dollars per pound ratio of the burritos is insane. You get leftovers for days. A grande Gordito's burrito will feed all but the biggest, hungriest people at least two servings. That's just one advantage. The food is all made with fresh ingredients. That right there puts it ahead of the majority of restaurants. Much more healthful and flavorful. Yeah, they're not shy with the cheese and sour cream, so it's overall not a healthful meal, but the ingredients themselves are better than most places. It's a fun, laid back place to eat. Great food, several draft beers to choose from, mellow and friendly vibe. They could use some better ventilation on hot days, and they could stand to turn down the music. read more

Everything about Gorditos screams authentic mexican food, except the food itself. Walking in to Gordito's, I was transported to San Francisco's Mission. This place looks and feels like the real deal, complete with hipster families enjoying their enormous plates of food. My husband looked at me and pronounced, "You've been holding out on me!" He assumed we hit the mother lode. Gorditos seems like the real deal. It really does appear that way, up until you get to the salsa bar with its two watery offerings. Everywhere are signs that you may be close to greatness: from the aqua fresca, horchata, great beer, giant burritos the size of babies, house fried chips, and fresh made salsa. Everything looks potentially fantastic, but just tastes just, well, large. That's when you realize this place has a case of mistaken identify. I do think if the team at Gordito's could dial up the quality of the salsa, get a burrito steamer, and dial up the flavors (get rid of the boiled tomatoes and sour cream in the shrimp burrito for example) this place could really be the real deal. Maybe a road trip to the Mission District and some immersion in places like Papalote or La Corneta could inspire & improve things. read more

Gorditos touts itself as healthy Mexican food and I wondered what to expect when I grew up around greasy 24 hour taco shops in Arizona. Health isn't really something I think of first at 2am after clubbing and the hanger sets in. So I guess this worked out since it was around 4 in the afternoon on a Sunday in Greenwood. I got the creamy chipotle chicken keto style, they offer a lot of options keto style where they skip the rice and beans. A friend got fajitas, and we grabbed the green sauce, grabbed our to go order and headed to a nearby park. The place looks way smaller in person than on the site but maybe that's just camera angles and they removed all but one table? I get there are limits due to covid right now. Despite ordering Hi-lo (keto) there was still a lot of rice in my container. The creamy chipotle chicken tasted fine, but there were other options on the menu I might have enjoyed more. read more

When my friend brought me here, I was pretty skeptical. I'm not usually a huge fan of rich Mexican food, but he did point out that the sign says "Healthy Mexican Food" haha. Not sure about that! The place itself didn't win me over right away either- honestly all the babies & burritos pictures kind of creeped me out. But I liked the family-style atmosphere and the family feel of the place. Plus the random decor was entertaining and there was great people watching! The chips and salsa were a delicious start. Loved the variety of salsas and authenticity of the tortilla chips- you don't get that everywhere! But what really sold me was the GIANT burrito. We split the chicken burrito grande, and I was completely amazed at how much I enjoyed it. I was also amazed that I quickly consumed almost all of my half without even realizing it. I think the key is the surrounding sauces on the burrito, and the mix of crunchy and creamy in every bite.
