We were so excited to try this new restaurant and unfortunately our visit was very disappointing. As we walked in the hostess checked us in and after 15 min we were taken upstairs, she talked about the restaurant and decor, super friendly. We got seated and our server came over and he took our drink order. We got our sparkling water, lemonades, Shirley Temple and his recommendation a pineapple jalapeno margarita. Drinks came out fast and our food orders were placed. Our cesar salad was out super fast, and that was the end of the speedy service. After finishing the salad, we waited for our dishes and nothing was insight. So we flagged our server and asked to add the parker rolls since my nieces were super hungry. 20 min later we got the rolls. Delicious and fluffy. After waiting over an hour and a half, I flagged our server and we asked about the food. He assured us it was almost out. 15 min later I asked for the manager and explained the situation. She was shocked to hear that we had waited for that long and she was going to check on the food right away. She came back and her answer was shocking " the food should be right out and just so you know an hour and a half is about the right wait time as this is an experience". Yes, a horrible waiting experience!! I've been to Hell's kitchen in Vegas and that was an excellent experience! After all that wait the food was bland, and portions were meh, definitely not worth the price. There are many other options at downtown Disney, save yourself the disappointment.

The food was ok, we got the bread, wings and salad. But let's talk about the reservations. Please put an option for indoor and outdoor when you book online . We had a reservation and they put us outside but people who were walk ins were getting sat inside at the bar area which is utter B..when it's 95 degrees outside and we made a reservation. Also there was no soap in the women's bathroom and a kitchen employee just wet her hands and left...

This is reservations only!! I was not aware until we went to the host. However, bar seating is not reserved so it's first come first serve. We were lucky to be sat asap after we acknowledged how the restaurant works. Every service member was nice and the bartender Eddy was really cool. He gave us plenty of time to order, made suggestions, and answered all questions. As an appetizer, I tried out the Parker Rolls. Butter is served on the side. These rolls were delicious. They were light and the top of the rolls have a nice crisp to them. The seasoning also gave a nice salty taste. Would definitely recommend for 1st timers. As my entree I ordered the Roasted Norwegian Salmon. Reading the description I was hesitant to try it out since ratatouille is a hit or miss for me for certain dishes from other places I've dined at (the ratatouille is underneath the salmon in the pic) The saffron beurre blanc was fragrant and there's even more sauce to pour on it after if you prefer. The skin on the salmon was perfectly cooked

The Carnaby is Gordon Ramsay's most recent venture and the latest in additions of restaurants to the rapidly expanding Downtown Disney district. Though they have only been open for a couple weeks, reservations are booked solid until November... except for me, who managed to snag a last minute reservation through OpenTable.  We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were greeted by a group of hostesses wearing red dresses and white stockings. They were so nice and even took pictures and videos for us while we waited for our table to be set up.  The restaurant had a whimsical fine dining atmosphere, having elegant elements such as a gorgeous bar while incorporating colorful pop art motifs and references to UK legends such as The Beatles. Although the dining area was a bit compact, we had a balcony view of the bustling district below and the fireworks show.  Our server was Joanna, who was such a sweetheart. She kept checking in on us and made sure we had a lovely time. I started with a cocktail from the bar - the Spirulina Negroni. It was lighter than I was expecting, which was good. On the nose, citrus. And on the palate, floral with notes of cherry from the Luxardo liqueur. The drink was a lovely shade of lavender from the Empress gin and was beautifully clear.  The menu featured some of Gordon's most iconic dishes such as the beef wellington and sticky toffee pudding, but also had some items unique to The Carnaby. One of these items was the Carnaby Nachos, which we shared as our appetizer. The short rib was tender, and I liked the hint of spice from the pickled peppers. But overall, I thought that the dish was a bit mellow. For my entree, I got the beef wellington. The wellington was served with a red wine demi glace sauce, poured tableside by our server. The center was a perfect, even ruby red, and the tenderloin was incredibly soft. But I would have liked it if the sauce was a little less salty, especially considering the generous amount of flaky salt sprinkled on top. The potato puree was also a bit lackluster to me. I've had this dish a couple times before at Gordon's Vegas locations such as Hell's Kitchen and Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill, and I must say I prefer it there. My sister got the 12 oz USDA prime rib, which was served via cart. Jasmine gave us excellent service here. She was gracious enough to wait for my sister to come back from the restroom before beginning the presentation. The prime rib comes with all the accompaniments of a Sunday roast: creamed spinach, Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, and roasted carrots. The prime rib was drizzled with a generous ladle of au jus and served with a side of horseradish. The prime rib was phenomenal, but lowkey, my favorite part of the feast was the creamed spinach! The spinach was so decadent that it shouldn't even be classified as a vegetable anymore and topped with delicious crispy shallots.  And of course, we couldn't leave one of Gordon's restaurants without having his famous sticky toffee pudding, topped with vanilla ice cream and a warm toffee sauce. My spoon glided through with no distinction - the cake was as soft as the ice cream. The sauce was rich, buttery, heavily caramelized, and decadent. You don't need teeth to eat this dessert because the entire thing will melt in your mouth. Whatever you do here, do not skip dessert.I've always been a fan of Gordon Ramsay and his restaurants, so I was delighted to hear that he was opening up The Carnaby so close to my home. We had a great time at The Carnaby and will come back again in the future.

Was able to snag a 9:30pm reservation! Checked in and was called up right on time. We were seated by the window and had a great view of the fireworks. Restaurant was full and busy. Service was friendly and attentive through all staff. Enjoyed the aesthetic and atmosphere of the place. Ordered: 2x wagyu burgers, sticky toffee pudding, & chocolate tart for $87. Burger was a little overcooked but we were overall pretty happy with everything. This is the 3rd GR restaurant we've been to and the standard is pretty consistent. The prime rib looked to be the most ordered dish, I look forward to returning to try!

Gordon Ramsay's newest restaurant has opened in Downtown Disney and it's a groovy place! Gordon Ramsay at the Carnaby is currently accepting reservations and is booked out through the end of the year. I secured 8:30 dinner reservations for my birthday on the first day OpenTable reservations were available. While they are reservations only, the bar area is open to walk-ins, but let's be clear, the bar area has limited seating. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation to check in and the hostess informed us that our table would not be ready until our reservation time. No matter, we did a little walk around DTD. We checked in a second time to let them know we were in the lobby. We were led upstairs and took the elevator. Our table was on the second outdoor patio to the back and I had a view of the bar. The patio is covered and we had a nice breeze blow through during dinner. Our server was Phil and he was great! He wished me a "Happy Birthday" and took our orders. We ordered plain tap water along with a hazy IPA ($14) and the Passion Fruit Royale ($23) to start. For our meal, we chose to split the Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips ($38) as the appetizer, the Beef Wellington ($73) as the main, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding ($15) for dessert. First off, it was a little windy on the patio, so the passion fruit bubble kept popping. We got it though and the drink was quite tart and refreshing. I loved the fresh passion fruit forward cocktail. The fish & chips were brought out with malt vinegar and the giant fish was perfectly crisp with hot flaky cod inside. The mushy peas are mixed with mint and was a nice palette cleanser. The Beef Wellington definitely lived up to its hype, as it was tender with perfectly pink beef wrapped inside a layer of mushrooms and pastry dough. It is served with a Demi-glace sauce which is poured onto the plate with flourish. We did notice that our server did not actually ask the level of doneness for our Wellington. It was served medium rare, which is what we prefer. Just be aware if they do not ask and do not be surprised when you get a perfectly pink medium rare piece of beef in front of you. Our dessert came out with a small "Happy Birthday" stamped chocolate piece on top of the Sticky Toffee Pudding. The date cake is topped with vanilla flecked ice cream. They pour the warm caramel sauce over it at the table. It was hands down one of the best Sticky Toffee puddings that I've ever tried. I would come back for this dessert! In fact, I'm telling you that you should order it when you dine there. We cannot wait to go back to try more items on the menu. Our server did ask if we were passholders. Why yes sir, I have a pass. We were given a 10% discount for Magic Key. Our meal was delicious and while they did not take the gift card I had, we paid the bill. My birthday meal was memorable and one of the nicer dining experiences at Downtown Disney. We will be back to try other items on the menu. 5 stars.

GROOVY, baby... YEAH! Love the 60's London decor. Simply phenomenal on all accounts. Went for lunch and had the Fish & Chips. Cooked to perfection but just slightly under seasoned... slightly, I say. All of the appetizers were fantastic - the Pea-guacamole, Rolls, and Wings. I WILL be back for the Beef Wellington and many of the other items. What a tremendous addition to Downtown Disney. GO HERE!

I was so happy to have a Gordon Ramsay restaurant open in SoCal! I've always gone to the Vegas locations, so I was excited to try this one. It's conveniently located right by the Downtown Disney parking lot and Din Tai Fung. They only take reservations, so no walk-ins at the moment. For starters, we ordered the Parker Rolls and Salt & Pepper Squid. For my main, I got the Beef Wellington, and we finished with the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Unfortunately, the Wellington was a bit disappointing. I first had it in Vegas, where the filet practically melted in my mouth, and the puff pastry was perfectly flaky. Here, the puff pastry was softer and a little soggy. The Salt & Pepper Squid was really good, and I'd definitely get it again. The Parker Rolls were fluffy and good, but nothing too memorable, so I'd probably skip them next time. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was definitely the highlight. It was warm and moist, and the ice cream paired perfectly with it. The service was amazing and definitely made the experience better. Doug was so funny, kind, and welcoming, and he went into detail explaining everything to us. Great hospitality all around! Overall, not a bad spot to try, especially if you're a Gordon Ramsay fan. I'd come back for the squid and Sticky Toffee Pudding!

TL;DR a mix of classic British fare, upgraded British classics, and modern renditions from the mind of British chefs; no real misses and some definite stars (beef Wellington and sticky toffee pudding im looking at you). The drinks are better than the food but the food is great! Smaller portions mean you can pick and choose a few things and enjoy some amazing cocktails. Welcome to the Disneyland Resort, Chef Ramsey. He's come in with a bang(ers and mash)! The place Right at the entrance to downtown Disney district is the top story restaurant overlooking the stage. The ambience is an homage to all things British music, complete with deep greens and colorful mosaic murals. Lots of style with a gastorpub feel. The layout is a little weird as the pass shares the same walkway as the main entrance for guests so traffic flow is an issue but only for entering/exiting the restaurant. Luckily you'll probably want to be seated for most of your stay as there is a LOT to take in. Service is attentive and expedient, zero complaints. Pricing is heavy but it's a "resort" destination so what are we gonna do? Ambience 6/10 (knocked off a point for layout) Service 9/10 Value 5/10 The food and drink The menu feels like the elevated bar food from the 2010's and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Dishes range from modern takes on classics, British classics done perfectly well, and what they call "bridge" dishes - British foods done in a California style. I liked everything and LOVED some dishes! Salt and pepper shrimp (App) Literally just a Chinese restaurant staple but their riff off of calamari. Savory, salty, peppery without being spicy. The CA twist of serving with lime-cilantro aioli is nice though. Latin and Asian flavors always pair nicely! It is prepped very well, with tender meat and a light but crispy finish. Perfect finger food to start the meal. 7/10 Pea guacamole (App) I'm starting to think Gordon Ramsey thinks California is 50% Asian and 50% Mexican because this bridge dish is also fusion of those two but unlike the squid the guacamole has a distinct British inspiration. Green peas are the base of this dip and the flavor is highlighted quite well. The sweetness, herbaciousness, and brightness of the peas is preserved and put right in the middle of everything. The spring onion oil and, cilantro, garlic, are all in small amounts to complement but not overtake any of the pea's flavor. Similarly, the shrimp crackers are lighter than a tortilla chip but add a needed savory note which adds yet another complement to the dip. I love the whole thought process behind this one. It's light, fun, shareable, new, and well executed! 9/10 Gouda Mac n Cheese (Side) Perfectly serviceable Mac n cheese. Cavatappi is a great choice for cheese soakage while also standing up to the broiler. Great cook, noticeable smoky flavor, and a thicker sauce. If you like creamy smooth this wont be your favorite but I'm a fan of all Mac styles. 6/10 Beef Wellington (Main) If you've been to a Ramsey restaurant you've probably seen it but I've been to HK and it was soggy and overcooked. This one is much better! A perfect mid-rare tenderloin, and well insulated pastry cover. The duxelle is savory and tastes distinctly of thyme. To me, the real star here is texture: crisp exterior on the pastry gives way to a hearty chew, the duxelle is a smooth puree, and the steak is tender enough for a butter knife. The Demi is textbook with a meaty and deep red wine flavor. 8/10 Cottage pie (main) Another elevated classic. Very hearty and heavy but not stodgy. Luckily the potato is well prepped and airy, if it was not as well executed this could have been an anchor of a dish. The short rib is fork tender and well seasoned and the vegetables are a perfect garnish. 7/10 Chickpea tikka (Main) The one miss of the night. A basic tikka masala served with saffron basmati and plain naan. Just not a very exciting flavor profile, a little too flat. Sweet tomato and dairy come through, reminiscent of takeaway. The real issue is that it comes out like warm which may be to prevent curdling of dairy but I would've liked some spice or pickles to pick up the flavor and a little hotter temp. Decent vegetarian option though. 5/10 Sticky toffee pudding (Dessert) This is the best thing at HK, and it's unchanged for downtown Disney. A perfect dessert. Moist, earthy, and well flavored with dates. These are important flavor notes because it. Is. SWEET. A wonderful dessert for anybody looking to scratch the sugar itch. 9/10.

I've been trying to get a reservation here since they opened about a month ago and I was lucky I got a late night reservation. The first time I've ever tried beef wellington and it just had to be Gordon Ramsay's recipe and now idk if any other beef wellington can satisfy this craving. The meat was so tender, the pastry puff was just enough and the sauce was amazing!! The Gouda Mac and cheese was recommended by the hostess so I had to try. I thought it was good but open to trying other appetizer options. The sticky toffee pudding was the popular dessert option so I also had to try that. I'm not usually a fan of cake or bread textures but glad this wasn't too cakey. It was the perfect amount to share with another person. I would definitely come back. The only reason I gave this place 4/5 stars is because I was charged for two additional items that I never ordered and didn't realize until the day after.

Gordon Ramsey at Downtown Disney?! That's so crazy!!! Came in opening week to check it out! I made reservations for 5 on open table the morning it went live and was able to get a reservation no problem. When I got there, we asked the hostess outside with red short hair if we will get seated in a 6 top table and if so, if we can make the reservation for 6 instead. she was incredibly insistent that we were seated at a 5 top and the reservation would only be for 5 saying they were completely booked. we accepted our fate and entered as a group of 5. once we got through the doors, the hostess at the front indoors, Ashley, checked us in. it turns out we were getting seated in 6 top table (who has 5 tops? but anyway) and i asked Ashley if we can add a 6th person and she said yes no problem! Not sure what the issue was with the first hostess but thank god for Ashley! She was so kind! Everything was pretty good! The beef welly isn't AS good as Gordon Ramsey Steak in my opinion but the meat was still cooked to perfection. Maybe it was the glaze that was too sour? Wagyu burger was BOMB! I actually preferred it. The mac and cheese was yummy and the rolls were okay. if you only get ONE thing, get the sticky toffee pudding. That was DELICIOUS! The fish and chips were also yummy! Ok giving it only 4 stars because the drinks were ALL subpar and we tried 5 different drinks!! I don't know if it was a bad night or what but they were all bad it makes me sad. Also service was hit and miss? not enough to dock another star but definitely encountered some not so great attitudes, it was a bummer! Still gonna go again just for the sticky toffee pudding? Gonna update this when I go back!

Having no luck securing a reservation earlier in the week, we took a chance and walked in to see if they had any open resv. Unfortunately, they did not and they just told us to continue checking on open table. At around 4:30pm, we checked just for kicks and a 6pm same day resy popped up do we immediately booked it! Friendly staff. For appetizers, we got the parker rolls, tomato burrata salad and pea guacamole with shrimp chips. Entrees - we picked beef wellington and prime rib. And finished off with the sticky toffee dessert! Delicious meal. Appetizers came out super quick but took some time to get our main course. Will certainly return to try other items on the menu!

Ok the decor y'all!!! There are 2 bars- one indoor and one outdoor. There are 2 patios for seating and of course indoor. I'm telling you this place was gorgeous. The servers were kind and helpful and gave us a tour! You can clearly see the fireworks from the upstairs patio too. The drinks were great too! Such an amazing vibe!

We also order their award winning fish and chips, we got the cod. It was ok. Not too sure about "award winning". But it was good. My son got the fish bite and chips from the Little Buccaneers menu (12 and under). It came w/a drink and an ice cream sundae. It was a good portion for a 9 year old. He said it was good! Our server was nice and smiley, but unfortunately our food and even our drinks took a while. Maybe cause it was busy, but luckily our server was cheery and friendly, it kind of made up for it. Overall, this place is pretty cool. Would I come here again? Possibly. But honestly I thought this place was just ok.

They gave me a beeper, and I was able to find a nearby table without any trouble. I ordered the Fish N Chips, which was a generous portion. It came with two large pieces of fish that were nicely fried. The batter wasn't too thick, and the fish itself was tender rather than overly flaky or hard. The texture and overall quality were good, but it was a bit lacking in flavor, even with malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The steak fries were crispy and not overly salty, which I enjoyed. Overall, the meal was average. With limited fish and chip options nearby, it's still a decent choice if you're in the area and craving it.

Hits the spot!!!…read more This was one of my Mother's last meals before she passed away and I'm so happy that she enjoyed this lovely place. I even went back months later for myself. We don't really have fish fry spots in Irvine besides California fish grill or OC fish grill(they pissed me off the first last visit so that's a different story.) Anyway, I love to support mom and pop over corporate eats any day. The service is good and the menu is straight forward. Great portions and super fresh eats. I honestly don't have any complaints. I'm not an English fried fish connoisseur so I can't compare but this meal hits and its solid! I'll definitely be back and please support your local small business:)

I had some friends over since I was staying in Newport Coast during the Memorial Day weekend…read moreholiday. I made reservations for our party and this was my friends first time dining at Lawry's sister restaurant. Founded in 1965. I haven't been here recently, but it hasn't changed a bit and is still a cozy and comfortable place to dine. We started off with a bottle of cabernet, complimentary bread, and two of their Pride of the Crowns salads. Since it was my friend's birthday I steered him into ordering the 16 oz Henry VIII Cut, cream corn, Cremini Mushrooms, Yorkshire pudding and spinach. I went with the same meal, and the prime rib was one of the best I've had in a long time. Tender and tasted great even when I pan fried my leftover prime rib. Our friends were impressed just as I was in the excellent service, quality of food and my friend's wife said it was the best prime rib she's experienced.

He forgot our order and I had to remind him several times to bring items clearly ordered. My drink was empty for a majority of my meal, and I had dirty dishes left around for far longer than is acceptable. Overall my husband's birthday dinner was fun because of our friends, but unfortunately we will not be going back to 5 crowns. It did not feel worth it at all. The food was only OK, our entrées came out luke warm, including the disappointing sides. The mash potatoes were flavorless, and the cream spinach was lack luster. The mac and cheese was piping hot, and delicious. I will also give credit to the server's assistant who helped him. He was more present than the server, but honestly that was a pretty low bar to begin with.

My husband and I had high hopes for this place because we've seen videos on social media about…read moretheir food and it looked delicious. I guess I should have read the Yelp reviews first. My husband and I got the seafood combo which comes with two pieces of fish, one jumbo shrimp and fries. My husband was looking forward to the shrimp and has been craving fries. These were a big let down. The fries, you could tell were frozen and were soggy. Again the shrimp, you can tell was frozen. And then when fried, it became overcooked so it was tough and chewy to eat. We both enjoyed the fish. I saw them actually dip the fish in the batter then fry it. So at least we know it wasn't one of those frozen "fish stick" style stuff you get at the grocery stores and it was prepped to order. The fish was very flavorful. It had good seasoning and the batter had a great crunch to it. The batter wasn't too think. And the fish was a good portion size. Service was good. It took a while for the food to be made. Chill ambiance. It is inside of the Anaheim Packing House so it gets loud. We were able to find seats nearby here. But this place has a lot of seating, so you can take your food and sit downstairs if you'd like. I'd come back here, maybe just for the fish.
