Came here with all of our family/relatives after having some dimsum at the dimsum house. And man was I glad - coming from San Diego this place gets two thumbs up. Our group tried several flavors some from their most popular ones listed on their menu board by ranking if I'm not mistaken. The ones I actually got to try were the papaya/pineapple/coconut with regular boba and the white chocolate banana coconut with small boba. I will highly recommend both of those flavors. If You're craving something more fruity go with the first one but if you're craving something more sweet and creamy I would recommend the latter. This place is connected to another Asian establishment where you can have your meal and then walk over here for your dessert. I always have good appetite for good food! You cannot go wrong to come to this place! They have the biggest pho bowls with lots of yummy meat and soup! I ordered the house pho with all kinda of meat. I'm leaving this review as I'm still sitting here. I haven't been here in years and I was hoping it would surprise me in a good way. Unfortunately, I'm still disappointed. Ordered a pho combo and after it came out, no one asked if we were doing okay only brought out the check 10 min later. After the waiter walks away, another one literally walks by after them and asks if our check was ready. We finally pay and I'm still eating. Then the other waitress comes by and asks us if we need anything. After I finish eating, she proceeds to bring the same check WE ALREADY PAID FOR. Yay, I am a fan. This is kind of a strange business to review, where once you go you'll find that it is really a couple different places that both operate here. With this in mind, here we go with the review. I found my way here for the boba, and you'll get to that pretty quick right when you walk in the place. The billboard that advertises all the options and features was a little confusing, so we ended up just asking the staff "what is the best" and "what is your favorite"? We were not disappointed, and loved the sweet boba balls in the drink. it was reasonably priced, and overall a good value - give it a try. I did not ry to restaurant, but plan on going back and hope to give it a ry as well. the seating for the boba is nice, and relaxing for the date I went on with the wife. There are times when it can be a little crowded but the food is always good and its reasonably priced. Its nice that it is co located with a boba spot, their drinks are good. Went with a few friends from work tonight and had a great time! The food and service were great and the consensus amongst all of us that we'd definitely come again. We started with an order of tofu spring rolls and pot stickers. I only had the tofu spring rolls: they were delicious! The peanut sauce that it came with wasn't overly sweet like a few that I've had in the past. Everyone else seemed to enjoy the pot stickers that were pan fried. Moving all the the main course: a variety of things were ordered. Some of my friends got some pho while others had noodle bowls. I had the vegetarian chow fun noodles. Yes I know that this is not a traditional Vietnamese dish; however, there were not that many veggie friendly options on the menu. My one other veggie friendly friend ordered the noodle bowl with tofu. I didn't want to get the same thing so that we could at least try off each other. Anyway, that's the reason for the one star reduction. Honestly it's more like a 0.5. Anyway, my meal was amazing! It had the right mix of veggies to noodles. See picture. They also have bubble teas and smoothies. I wanted to get one but definitely didn't anticipate one early enough to stop stuffing myself with noodles. I WOULD DIE FOR THIS PLACE. The food is soooooOoOoo good and you get so much. When I go with friends we just buy one meal and split it because they're so big. I always buy the same thing over and over because I fear nothing like I fear change (eggroll noodle bowl 4 dayz) but next time I go I'm gonna order some sweet and sour tofu. I came here for lunch on a Tuesday. There's plenty of parking along the side of the restaurant, but it was pretty crowded inside the dining area. I ordered the beef and meatballs pho for $9.25, which is a bit more expensive compared to most pho restaurants. The bowl was big and had lots of soup. There was plenty of noodles and meat for a smol person but if you're super hungry it might not be enough honestly. The broth was tasty, even if you don't add any sauce. I loved how they gave so many limes because I love them in my pho. Their water was tasty. I also tried their "create your own" boba. I did a mixture of almond, coconut, and mango. My boba tasted like almond banana though. There wasn't really much of a coconut or mango taste in my drink. The pho prices were a bit high, but their boba prices were reasonable. When the BBH (bun bo hue - Vietnamese spicy beef noodle soup) cravings kick in, I make my way to Gossip. The food is surprisingly good and reasonably priced. Gossip is ALWAYS busy every time I come, so service could be a little better but all the staff are friendly and chipper so what more could I ask for?! I've also tried their pho, lemongrass chicken, bun (dry vermicelli noodle), and spring rolls, all of which were delicious! Their bubble tea drinks are ok, I prefer more authentic flavors so these fruity drinks aren't my faves. You can't go wrong with any of the foods here! Had dinner on Friday here at 8:00 pm. Was seated quickly (although at 9:30 it was packed) and the staff was friendly and quick. We had: Honeydew Boba- perfectly squishy tapioca pearls, tiny bits of chopped fresh fruit, and an unexpected bit of tiny regular tapioca pearls. Textures and crunch. (No rose, violet, or almond so I'll have to keep going to TeaBar to get those) Vietnamese Crispy Egg Rolls: Great- Mi la cai is #1 for crispy Vietnamese egg rolls, but this is #1.5. This looked like 3 egg rolls, they were cut into smaller pieces so I'm not sure. Crispy outside, the usual ingredients inside: carrots, wood ear mushrooms, glass noodles. Came with a sweet fish sauce for dipping. (I usually add a spoon full of the chili oil that is on the table to add a bit spice...watch out, this one was hot!) House Chow fun: Smoky, sweet, sprouts, beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, green onions, yellow onions and perfectly cooked chewy noodles- none of that overcooked falling apart crap. I wish this had more veggies, but thats me, my kid wishes for less- she says she's getting this next time. House Singapore Fried Rice- Good. Smokey, shrimp, pork, beef, chicken, rice, eggs, chopped red, yellow and green peppers and onions. I wish this had more ingredients like the inspiration dish: sprouts, basil, limes, peanuts, but again thats just me. I would get this again too. Overall great place! I have to admit, their bubble tea is one of the best around Salt Lake City. I loved their durian smoothie, which is about $4-5, which isn't bad for their quality. I've only tried the original boba milk tea here, but it was actually pretty tasty especially for the price (just a little over $3). The restaurant is split where there is a food/dining section and coffee shop style boba section. The booths in the boba section were set up nicely with outlets, easily somewhere you could bring your laptop, order a tall boba drink, and get some work done. What a little gem of a place. I have never been so totally happy drinking any substance than I was while drinking my boba smoothie today. Well an ice cold Dr. Pepper is hard to beat, but Gossip can bust out some pretty freaking delicious drinks. The smoothie itself is waterbased, which I really like. It makes it lighter and easier to drink. The boba is delightful and when the two are combined , sliding through straw into your mouth it's heaven. They are able to blend the smoothie together so perfectly that you don't have left over icey residue either. You can drink every last drop. They have a HUGE flavor selection so you can't go wrong with what you choose. Plenty of options make this place a fun time. Designing your drink is a blast! Then to top it off, it is very satisfying. For $6 you get a huge smoothie way more valuable than Jamba or whenever. Love it! read more

There is no other place in Utah that Pho like Gossip Tapioca. They are awesome! The boba tea that they make too is so good and they have so many different varieties! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. They really do need to update their website though because the stuff on there is extremely outdated, same with Facebook. Things I have a natural affinity for: - Pho - Boba - Vietnamese People So you think I would love or at least adore Gossip, but unfortunately, after many failed attempts, I just can't. I really want to, but I've been consistently disappointed with all three of my favorite things here, well, maybe not the last one because I bring my own when I go. But in all seriousness. I love boba, especially tea-based, i.e., thai tea, green tea, milk tea, etc, you name it, I love it. But their boba here, while the pearls are always cooked fine, the drinks they are surrounded with kind of just fail. The drinks are either watered down too much, too sweet, or just lacking in any distinct flavor. While I've had boba here with fruitier based drinks, and they have not been bad, I get boba primarily for milk teas. Their Pho, which I've had twice, may taste fine to your average Pho novice, but the broth is way too oily and laced with MSG. Pho Fail. And their service (aka Vietnamese people), while very nice as people, are awful in customer service. I've been ignored numerous times while stepping up to the counter, or when I sit down, there is ever only one table that is clean, and I've had very questionable water glasses. So, I want to love Gossip, but based on their quality of everything that I'd want in a Vietnamese place, it just doesn't deliver. read more

Got here and the hostess told us it would be a 10-15 minute wait for an small table. We placed a boba order wile we waited and proceed to watch three other groups of people come in after us and be served bubble tea. One group didn't like theirs, which were remade several times while we continued to wait. After 30 minutes we were finally seated. At that time, we saw that seven tables were available. Did they really expect a rush of people at this time? I ordered some summer rolls and reminded the server of our previously ordered boba. I then tried to order the fondue grill which they apparently don't serve anymore. It's still listed on the website and menu. Very annoying. This is the reason we came here! We ended up waiting 45 minutes for pho, which is ironic because the whole in and out process normally takes 45 minutes. Only one more table came in the entire time we were seated. Guess they really overestimated that large party rush they were expecting. I give 2 stars because they serve culantro, one of my favorite pho toppings and one that you won't find in any other salt lake noodle house. Also, the gi cun was excellent. Quality Asian food is not the easiest thing to come by in these parts. Much less something as specific as a good pho broth. Fortunately, we stumbled across Gossip over six years ago when we resided in the mainland and it is still there! Well, of course it is still there as it is awesome. The broth is great (I believe they don't use msg? Or it's limited?), they make their own meatballs, the teas and tapiocas are beyond delicious, and the rest of the menu is great. All great. Lots of greatness. A standout? The rice cake with eggs and brown sauce appetizer thing. I ordered it purely because I had never seen it before and it was a amazing! So good. The Bo Boa Hue was less spicy than the one I tried in another resterant but still really tasty. The catfish hot pot was a little bit too sour for me. For the drink part - I LOVE THE DURIAN SMOOTHE! People kind of have a love or hate relation with this fruit but for durian lovers, this is a must try! The smoothie tasted so silky and the flavor was rich as if they blend the whole durian in it. For as long as this restaurant has been opened, I have only tried their Boba, which was reason I originally gave this place 3 stars. However, I dined and ate from their menu for the first time last night and decided that they deserve another star! My colleagues and I ordered their Spring Rolls and Pan Fried Rice Cakes as our appetizers, which was delicious and filling. Our shared main entree was the Seafood Hot Pot which was tasty as well. I was amazed with their service since our server frequently checked up on us, even though the restaurant was fairly packed.
