We've been going to Gourmet Garden in Hingham since they were Asian C and have never been disappointed, but because of our last experience, I just had to write a review! I got a call a couple of weeks ago from a woman who works for Gourmet Garden to invite my husband and I to a "customer appreciation for VIP customers" on June 20th. I remember signing up for news there once, but I was surprised to get a call at home - it was kinda nice. And why wouldn't we want to stop in for a free dinner?! On Wednesday we showed up at 6:30 and the place was PACKED! Apparently they have a lot of VIP customers... couples, families and kids. We were greeted very warmly by Ricky, the owner, who we've gotten to know by going there so much. He showed us to a small table and directed us to the buffet which was stocked. Even for a free event they went all out with sushi, chicken, beef and vegetable dishes, and of course the traditional appetizers. Everything was fresh and delicious and they had a small army of servers making sure. Then the DJ started, and things got crazy! Lots of dancing and we even got chatting with a couple of the other regulars. We had lots of fun, and a great time. It was wonderful being "appreciated" and knowing that when we go there we're not just faces in the crowd, but valued customers. Can't say I've felt that way at many other places. My coworkers and I are HUGE fans of Gourmet Garden! We have been going once a week for the lunch buffet for the mast month or so, and we've loved it every time. The dishes are always hot and fresh, and they have something for everyone from traditional chinese food, sushi and some low calorie vegetarian options too. The servers check the buffet often and refresh it several times. The servers are quick and friendly, you never feel rushed but we always get back to the office in time. My favorite dishes in the buffet are the beef and broccoli (the broccoli is always crisp and the beef is tender and juicy, never tough!) the yu hsiang vegetables and the house rice (never greasy like at other Asian restaurants!) If you are looking for a quick and delicious lunch during the work day, you must try Gourmet Garden! read more

I recently ate here with my friends as per their suggestion. We got some Chinese appetizers to start (rangoons, egg rolls), but the real highlights of the show were the sushi. We shared three sushi items amongst ourselves, those being the House Dragon maki, the Torch Salmon, and the B52 maki. We chose them since their descriptions were really out there. I'm not a big fan of raw fish, so I was happy to learn that there were cooked sushi options here. As you can tell by the presentation of the food and the 5* I gave, it tasted AMAZING!!! Our server was polite and patient, answering every question we had about the menu. On our way out, we also saw a robot. That was certainly something. 10/10, would try again (and I'd definitely recommend exploring the menu)! read more

I went to this restaurant earlier today and had one of the best service I've ever had in awhile. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. They took care my order carefully, and helped me in every possible way to complete my take out order, because they had so many different types of food on the menu, i had a hard time making up my mind. The atmosphere in there was great, they had the karaoke going and the delicious food smell in the restaurant was both attempting and addicting at the same time. Last but not least the take out food was heavenly, i ordered five star shrimp sesame beef, new wave maki and celtics maki, boy oh boy they were all so delicious. i strongly suggest this restaurant and i will definitely go back again!! u read more

My girlfriend and I have been on the lookout for healthy places to eat, and we've been really happy with Gourmet Garden in Hingham. The food is always delicious and they offer a diet, gluten free and sugar free selection, and organic sushi. We went there last night for the 4th time and had the gluten free spicy chicken, steamed shrimp with mixed vegetables and the akai fried rice. Our dinner tasted very fresh, the meat was tender and the vegetables crisp, all without the heavy sauces you get at other Asian restaurants. We went during the dinner rush, and although it was busy our server was quick and very friendly. It's hard to find Chinese food that tastes good and is healthy at the same time, and Gourmet Garden does is right. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I really wanted to after visiting Gourmet Garden in Hingham for the first time. I've been all over the area looking for a good sushi place and I've been disappointed with all so far - until now! Gourmet Garden simply has the BEST sushi in town. It's fresh, tender and delicious. My favorites are the Pink Lady and New Wave rolls. Their Uni is very good as well, with a fresh flavor and nice texture. I've also ordered takeout since I've been in, and that was great too! If you haven't been to Gourmet Garden, you must try it! read more

Read other reviews and had to try it myself. I was pleasantly surprised. Food the food to be fresh and healthier than some of the old school Chinese establishments. Very bright interior and outstanding serve from the initial welcome to the final check. Both Chinese and Japanese choices were outstanding. It was obvious to me that Roni J. and David Y are employees at Beijing House. There is no comparison between these restaurants. Gourmet Garden is a great place to go if you are looking for Asian food. The menu selection is great is the service is prompt. The have a variety of makimono they offer with organic rice is my favorite part of the menu, especially tye spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls. I have frequented Gourmet Garden. Every time the service has been incredibly hospitable. I love sushi, so I order it regularly. The sushi is so fresh, and the flavor profiles are new and inventive. We have also enjoyed the Chinese menu, in particular the Scallion Ginger Lobster, and Hong Kong Shrimp. We loved the new ambiance. It's one of our favorite spots, highly recommend! read more

It's pretty good. Sometimes the sushi is phenomenal and other times it is so-so. We eat here very often, and the staff is very courteous, but go closer to the city for better sushi. Side note: My brother just got food poisoning after eating here......but raw fish can do that to you sometimes! Overall: C+. read more

This one of the best Chinese-Japanese restaurant I have ever been too. The food was great, it is a must come back restaurant. The service was amazing and quick.
