How bout this is one of my favorite-must-go-to breakfast spots on the planet!!! I must say that I am NOT typically a fan of buffets at all, but with each Branson trip I must make an exception to stop in a time or two during my stay. Suffice it to say, they had me at hello years ago. It has wonderful food (consistent), a family oriented staff (all are soooo kind) & a Music Hall just outside it's doors. There's also a cool boutique, candy store & fun games for the kiddos. It's also a hotel...what a one-stop-shop. Additionally, quite a few of the staff are long-time employees & a few years back I ran upon an omelette master there who grew up around the corner from me & happens to STILL work there. I come here every time I'm in Branson, it's practically a tradition. Been coming here since I was 12, I'm 32 now. This time our server was Santiago, he was great and you could tell he was either new, very passionate about his job or a bit of both, he was great. I had 2 plates of Salad, some country fried steak, ribs, Mac & cheese, and sweet corn nuggets. The corn nuggets, salad, and country fried steak were fantastic. The ribs and Mac & cheese were not, but for me, they never are. Also you'd think they'd update the talking picture to be better quality, but it's been the same thing since it's inception, not a big deal though as I tend to ignore it, loved it as a kid though. read more

The Grand Country Buffet has nice and caring staff. The buffet is part of a strip of attractions. There's an indoor black light golf course next to the buffet, you can see people playing through the glass! They have a music show across from the buffet and a gift shop as well. Their food seems homemade. I wouldn't recommend the turkey, though. It was very dry. I would NOT come here on Thanksgiving! It's hard enough finding a parking space, but the line gets ridiculously long! It was past 3:00 before we could finally dine. Grand Country Buffet also raises their prices on Thanksgiving day! What is up with that!?! FYI, kids don't get to eat for free at any time of the year here. I tried their apple pie because the staff were handing out pie slices for Thanksgiving. It was the WORST apple pie I've ever had. The pie was served ice cold! That's not how apple pie should be. The staff make sure their cobblers are warm. Why can't they do the same for pies? We ate at the Grand Country Buffet last night for dinner. I had never been here and was excited to try it. I was shocked at how good It was. They had a great selection and the food was so fresh and warm! The best thing on the buffet was the country fried steak with gravy. It was the best I've ever had!!! The mashed potato's and rolls were great too! The salad bar was super fresh and had a lot of toppings! I literally had the BEST chocolate chip cookie from the dessert section. Everything I ate was delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the next morning for breakfast and it was just as good! Again, great selection and everything was warm and fresh. They had all the things- eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fresh fruit, French toast, omelets, etc. I can't wait to go back and bring my hubby! The only downside was that they were not spreading folks out. You would think with COVID, they would be spacing people out. They had plenty of tables but were seating people right by each other. The buffet was a little expensive, but for the Branson strip, I guess that is to be expected. After I paid, we were escorted to a table by one of the staff. They brought some plates with them. I found that a little odd. The, she introduced herself as our "server" for the evening. Server? At a buffet? That made me a little uncomfortable. It sounded to me like she was expecting a 20% tip. For what? Bringing us fresh plates? Filling our water glasses? Taking the used plates away? Sorry. If they stored plates by the food carts, like ALL other buffets that I have ever been to, then there would be no need for someone to bring us fresh plates. I assumed she was just a victim of this restaurant's sneaky methods, so I gave her a few bucks anyway. But certainly not what I would have given a full-fledged "server". read more

While our stay in Branson continues we heard that you gotta try the grand buffet!!! We did and we did enjoy it, though the price was a little steep, If I did it again I would probably try the lunch time and there were coupons floating around for half off lunch. For the food though, I did really enjoy the chicken and the country fried steak and the gravy i got to pour over it. I always love to see a nice salad bar at a buffet as well and when they add "real bacon bits" it sends me through the roof. Now i have been to many buffets where they have an amazing selection of deserts here i felt it was pretty limited but I did enjoy my ice cream that i created. The staff was super friendly and we got to talking to our waitress who had some fun stories to share and how she preferred to make her cobbler desert put a scoop of all 4 cobblers on a dish and pour not ice cream but the vanilla cream on it. my wife was to stuffed to try it but my mother in law did she said it was really good, but she did miss the hot and cold mixture which the waitress did say before she got it most people who get the ice cream on it do it for the hot and cold mixture. Decided to have our Thanksgiving dinner at Grand Country for the 3rd year in a row. We were either very hungry or something, but this was the best Thanksgiving dinner we have had at a restaurant. Service was great, food was hot and plentiful. Thank you for serving our community each holiday. We have been here on previous occasions and the line was tolerable - only less than a 45 minute wait. I usually don't have high expectations for buffets but this was honestly our favorite meal in Branson and the surrounding areas so far. Other places we've eaten are Farmhouse Cafe, Paula Deans Kitchen, Silver Dollar City, the restaurant at Dogwood Canyon, and more of the like. After doing our fair share of clogging our arteries, we NEEDED vegetables and between all the diners and southern eateries, it seems really hard to find healthy options in this town. Luckily at the Grand Country Buffet, we were able to get salad, broccoli, green beans, carrots, etc. there were roast and ham carving stations, baked and fried chicken, fish, chicken fried steak, baked potatoes, soups, fresh fruit, desserts, breads, cold salad bar fare like pasta salads and a few other items I'm sure I forgot. If you are one of those people that wants 300 options, this buffet is not for you as the selection is smaller than many buffet restaurants, places in Vegas, or cruise ships. I personally prefer less options with better-prepared, fresh options and that's what I got. My favorite items were the salad bar, baked chicken, rolls, and fresh fruit. My son most enjoyed the pineapple, baked chicken, green beans and steamed broccoli. My husband said the cobbler was some of the best he's had. Not way too sweet like what's served at many places. I remember going here as a kid and it was good; even just a few years ago when we went and it was alright. Now it's just better left as a memory. Don't waste your money. In our latest outing to Branson, we chose GCB for our first breakfast stop, even though we got there a scant 30 minutes before the buffet changed over to lunch. While not a huge fan of a dinner buffet in most cases, I'm all over a breakfast buffet, if it's done right. GCB does it right. Up until about 10:30 the buffet also includes an omelet bar, which is always a nice touch. Buffet fare is the usual eggs, waffles, biscuits, gravy and assorted meats, all of which are downright good, for a buffet. What I didn't expect, and loved, was the Ozark Omelets, and breakfast fried rice. The omelet is really a well done egg bite cooked in a medium sized muffin tin, so it's about 2, maybe three bites, depending on how bog your mouth is. In some cases, not naming names, it can be a 1 bite thing. The fried rice is just that. Well seasoned rice with crumbled sausage in it. As a fan of fried rice, the addition of some scrambled eggs to the dish would cap it, but since I had those on my plate already, a little redneck ingenuity and problem solved. Overall, the place was good enough in the pantheon of sub to mediocre Branson eateries that we returned the second day, timing the meal to catch the lunch and breakfast buffets on the same ticket. Lunch was probably less stellar than breakfast, but that's most likely just me. What I had was pretty good, and the fried chicken better than most. As long as this place stays open, and my family keeps dragging me back to Branson, this is where I'll eat breakfast. read more

This was our main place to eat during our recent stay in Branson. We had the all inclusive package at the Grand Country Inn, and all three meals were included. The selection here is very good. It's not quite on the level as a larger restaurant such as Golden Corral, but it was much better than the buffet on the last cruise I took. There were plenty of options at all meals. I liked everything I tried, and there are certain foods I wish I had the recipe for. (Pineapple parfait became my favorite rather quickly, and I loved the fried chicken and fruit selection.) The service was absolutely incredible. I've never been to a place like this where I just loved every server. We took our 13 yr old and grandkids. We had a room close to water park which the kids loved!! We went to the animal show which was good. I'm so glad I don't live in the area because of the cheese pizza... I don't even like... was amazing. All the kiddos were sleeping and my hubby was hungry so he went and grabbed a cheese pizza. Holy moly! There we are, crammed in the sink area in the room trying to shove pizza down our throats...quietly 3 pizzas the next day for the kids.. Awesome!! Danishes, muffins, sausages, bacon, mini ozark omelets, omelet station, mini waffles, French toast, cheesy hash brown casserole, biscuits, country gravy and sausage country gravy. Fresh fruits. Chicken strips. It had something for everyone in our family and convenient when staying on property. If you don't want a long a wait in line get up early. The buffet is convenient because of its proximity to the hotel. The food is okay. About what you'd expect... Some decent variety, but lots of fried stuff. Downside is that tips are not only expected, but they're essentially elicited. There's a little card the "waitresses" bring you at the beginning that reminds you that you should tip them. The staff was busy busy and eager to help. The only issue other than the wait was they seated us near the indoor golf which smelled musty. Oh and they didn't have sweet tea. We had a wonderful breakfast in a charming dining room. The room looked clean and new. Our table was under a gazebo roof and I noticed other areas looked like a front porch and a grape Arbor. We could look through a wall of Windows and watch families playing indoor mini-golf. The food was of good quality and a good variety of breakfast dishes ranging in calorie-counts from fresh fruit to caramel pecan sticky buns to omelettes freshly made with your choice of ingredients.
