We love this little restaurant. We come for breakfast every time we come to Wears Valley. The food is always fresh and delicious. We've seen the same two ladies working each time we've dined there over the past ten years. One time I got a slice of coconut cream cake to eat later and it was excellent. Definitely worth visiting. Recently we went to this restaurant for breakfast. Ordered standard fried eggs sausage toast breakfast. It was so cold in the restaurant our food got cold before we could eat it and we were very uncomfortable. Thursday march 16 went there for lunch. It was still cold the waitress was even agreed with us. I ordered a fried baloney sandwich which was $4.95. It came with no fries, chips or anything. What I got was two slices of cheap thin white bread and a thin piece of baloney. It did not stay warm long enough to take the four bites to eat it. Two strikes and we won't be back. read more

WOW! The breakfast is out of this world! Cathead biscuits are excellent along with the country ham. No complaints from the rest of the family about their french toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy. The staff was the best part. I think they have been some the friendliest group that we have run across. The waitress joked right along with my family and come to find out we grew up in the same area in Florida. We will definitely be stopping in a few more times before we leave this week. If you look *different* then the common demographic in this area you may want to avoid. Unless you like being ignored, talked about by other patrons, and made to feel completely uncomfortable. My husband and I visited while here because it was close to our cabin. Let me just say I never leave bad reviews or get so unnerved. Our server took our order, never to be seen again. Oh actually she did bring quickly drop off coffee 40 minutes after I ordered it. Our food took 45 minutes and was seriously over priced. But the real problem here is the atmosphere. We are a mixed couple from a small town in Florida. We by no means have thin skin when it comes to people staring. However from the second we walked into this place we were both extremely uncomfortable. I can honestly say I've never felt how I felt sitting in this place. Our server attentively waited on her other tables, and never once made eye contact with us. She never came back to our table to apologize for the long wait, in fact another server brought our food. We immediate boxed it up and left. That same second server ran our card and brought us boxes. We couldn't sit in that place for a minute longer. She even sat down to clean a table right next to us while carefully avoiding any opportunity for us to get her attention. I can look past less than par food and service, but this was a whole other type of problem if you catch what I'm putting out there. I'm not sure what's going on in this place, but I want other people to know to avoid this place so you don't experience what we did. Had high hopes for this little restaurant but was very disappointed. First the good. This is a very neat little cabin restaurant in wears valley and the view out front is beautiful. The waitress was very nice. When we arrived we were seated. There were only 4 other people there besides us. They had a list of their sides for that day which looked great. Then the waitress who was nice, told us, "sorry all we have is pinto beans and mashed potatoes for sides, we didn't get the rest of sides done today." Thankfully they do breakfast all day so I went with breakfast. I had the country ham and it was very good. The biscuits were pretty good. It came with sawmill gravy but it was thick and not much taste other than a flour taste. Ordered eggs over easy but they came out over well. Suppose to come with grits but, you guessed it, was told they just ran out. They did not offer to replace it with anything. The waitress, their were only one, sat down and began to text on her phone, never checked on us or asked if we needed anything to drink. After our drinks were dry, I looked over and noticed the other 4 people dinning also had empty glasses. The waitress continued to text and talk back and fourth to kitchen about how they should close early because there was a chance for rain. She actually as we were leaving told a guy who was walking up that they were about to close so he should go up the road to another restaurant. It was only 12:30 peak lunch time. Finally when waitress got up to walk outside I asked if we could get a drink refill. She was very nice just was not attentive to her guests at all. Over all the food we had was not too bad but it wasn't the best and there are much better places in the area. Recommended by a friend who we were visiting. Service a bit slow, only because there was one waitress (would have been a five star review) however the food was more than worth the wait and came out quickly once the order was made. The biscuits and country ham were fantastic. Wife had the fried chicken that was delicious. The batter was infused with honey and some other secret ingredient that made impossible to stop eating the entire half a chicken. Don't believe the articles you find searching on Google for this area. Food was ok, not special by any means. Our waitress was also just ok. I also suspect she was posting an updated review on the restaurant while we were there (it was like she was trying to capture pictures while the restaurant was busy, suspicious) instead of being attentive to the patrons. The real problem was how overpriced everything was for what it was (nothing special as I read in some of the reviews). As an example, we paid considerably less for a very good, generous, home style diner, the same evening, in the same area. The breakfast at this place was well over $10 more. Tourist trap! Beware! We stopped here on the recommendation of the cabin rental staff. After a long redeye from LAX we just wanted something to fill our stomach. What we found was a fantastic hole in the wall cafe away from the craziness that is pigeon forge, that served up fantastic home cooking. Highly recommend the burgers and pulled pork. Expensive and poor quality. The coffee was so weak I could see the bottom of my cup. I got runny yolks with 2 little pieces of bacon and toast for $7. I had ordered eggs over hard with 3 pieces of bacon. I looked around for our waitress for 5 minutes but she never appeared. I had to just eat the eggs and avoid the yolks. I eventually did get my third piece of bacon, but it was a struggle to ask for. My companions were also really unimpressed. My sister kept saying "I'm so sorry for bringing us here. We stopped here for lunch on our way back from Cades Cove. At first interaction I thought the server seemed annoyed with us but she quickly warmed up and was even kind and helpful when my son spilled his full drink (ugh). I had the daily special which was an amazing piece of meatloaf "like mom used to make" for only $6.95. It came with two sides (I chose delicious mashed potatoes and green beans) and choice of corn bread, roll or biscuit. The corn bread was a little dry, but I tried my husbands biscuit and it was SO good! My husband had the fried chicken and it was to die for and my mom had the country fried steak and it was tender and tasty. The cucumber and potato salad were also fresh and good. I'm so happy we stopped here and went all out for lunch so we can head back to the cabin and skip dinner. Oh, and we left with a piece of pineapple coconut cake. Yum! read more

We should of stopped earlier, don't pass it by. Saw this going back and forth from our cabin but cooked our own meals. The last morning we stopped after checkout and were met with an awesome meal and excellent service. Anyway we asked for our food they knew what we wanted. Came here based on the great reviews, and it was just down the road from family. Five stars for the gigantic biscuits and gravy, but the rest of breakfast was just average. Ok food, not amazing, not bad. My husband called the coffee 'jailhouse coffee'. Place was packed for a late breakfast right before Thanksgiving so maybe we missed out on the atmosphere that other reviewers liked. I wish we would have found this restaurant at the beginning of our weekend away instead of at the end. My husband had breakfast, I had lunch. He had eggs and pork loin and it was very tasty. The pork was cut a little thin, but was about what you would expect at this price point. I had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and greens. It was all good. If you prefer white gravy, be sure to specify. It comes with white gravy for breakfast and brown gravy for lunch. Mine came out with brown gravy but they quickly switched it when I asked. You definitely want the white gravy which seems to be freshly made vs the brown gravy, which was still on my potatoes and tasted like it came out of jar. The service was great. This is probably my favorite restaurant in the Pigeon Forge area. The food is fresh and is always cooked to order not pre cooked. It is homemade and lots of Pride is put in to cooking the food so you can tell that by eating it. I had pancakes, sausage biscuits, and sweet tea. When my wife and I are on vacation we try to eat breakfast at a different place each morning - this place is so good we ate there two days in a row! Their country fried steaks are some of the best I've ever eaten and I have had a bunch. The gravy is excellent and the biscuits are just as good. My wife says the biscuits and gravy are to die for. I like my eggs cooked sunny side up and some cooks just don't know how to cook them right. My eggs were cooked beautifully both times.
