Great place for breakfast. Buffet is hot and refilled often, and staff is very nice and attentive.

I had a great experience with Ryan at this location! I came in on Christmas Eve to get rolls for the next day and Ryan was fast, accurate, and super friendly. Before taking my order he took a really big order and even with the line to the door he made sure to ask all the right questions so he got exactly what the costumer wanted. Overall great experience and I hope management recognizes Ryan for killing it. read more

Every time I have been to Grandy's, I order the same exact thing, A breakfast platter with eggs, hash brown, biscuit, sausage and bacon with a steak and gravy as well. I ALWAYS order double sausage WITH bacon still and no steak sub a biscuit. This morning around 8:45 am, I found the bacon was not in the platter, even though they asked my order again at the window. When I got home is when I realized the bacon was not there so I attempted to call the restaurant more than three times before I got an answer, but when I did the person who answered the call was very rude and unhelpful in solving my problem and hung up in my face. At first, the issue was only about the bacon being missing from something that I know comes with it, but now it's also about the consistently crappy service I have received from this location. Last time I came, they overcharged me and at this point I'm starting to think they just don't care. Love the establishment but the service is killing it for me. read more

Just not the same place they were years ago. Very sad. My food was cold. The staff did not understand English. I was sliding on the terracotta tile floor. Such a letdown from what I remember in the 80's and 90's. I know the chain has been sold a time or two, but you should really consider what stores like this are doing to your name. I know some stores are still great, and remind me of my younger days, but this store on 15th street is probably the armpit of the chain. The bathrooms are atrocious. In the mail there was a coupon to Grandys, we decided to have breakfast there. They offered a buffet, but there were only a few items to choose from, so not a good sign. So we decided to order pancakes with sausage. The coupon said $1.00 off any adult meal, we were not allowed to use it saying it could only be used as a meal. Ok, it was only 10.00 for both of us. When the food came the order was wrong (we only ordered pancakes and sausage). The taste...you get what you pay for. Needless to say,we will not be coming back. read more

We visited this Grandy's for the breakfast buffet and we weren't disappointed. The eggs weren't dry and rubbery which is a first for me at any buffet. The rest of the food was good as well. It's not a 5 star restaurant, but for the type of restaurant it is, it's great and the price is good. The location itself also has a nice interior and is more modern than other locations that we've been to. We will be back. read more

Tried Grandy's for the first time today. For what it is Grandy's is excellent. Is it a gourmet restaurant? No. Is it a fast-food place? No. It's like that perfect in between that serves great comfort food at reasonable prices. It's the perfect way to get a quick comfort fix. Ordered: -Double Country Steak Combo (Mashed Potatoes with White Gravy, Corn) $7.99 -Pot Roast Meal (Mac and Cheese and Fried Okra) $7.99 -Cherry Cobbler $1.99 -Cole Slaw $1.99 Double Country Steak Meal: This was just like the Chicken-Fried Steaks I used to get for lunch almost every day in high school, so it had a nostalgia effect for me. For those who didn't have this experience, the patty is basically a patty of processed meat deep fried in a crispy batter and smothered in the gravy of your choice. I had the cream gravy and I can tell you it was great. The mashed potatoes and corn were also great. Corn was nice and sweet and juicy and mashed potatoes were perfectly fluffy and creamy, especially with the gravy in a well in the middle (they smoosh the middle down so the gravy stays inside the potatoes). Pot Roast Meal: I personally found the pot roast to be a little bit salty. But they do give you a good portion of beef for the price which I appreciate. Some places' pot roast will be mostly vegetables and no meat but at Grandy's it's more of mostly meat and no vegetables. And I also found this morning that the pot roast reheats very very well, so that's always a plus. The Mac and cheese I found was pretty standard and reasonably good. It's not your boxed mac but it's definitely not your gourmet mac either. It's about what you'd expect from a place like Grandy's. The okra, of course, was good and standard for a fried okra. Great flavor on the breading and nice crunch when fresh. Cherry Cobbler: This was really good and a good size portion for $1.99. I added a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top when it was still hot and it was absolutely divine (because the cherries were a little sour and it balanced nicely with the sugar from the ice cream). Cole Slaw: Standard mayonnaise-based cole slaw. Crunchy and fresh and good amount of cabbage mix. Rolls: Standard yeast rolls. Good with honey and/or butter. Overall: I'd definitely order from here again. It's hard these days to find a country steak that gives me the nostalgia effect that this Grandy's steak did, because most restaurants tend to use a real steak battered and then fried, whereas I used to eat the processed kind. Can't wait to try the other things on their menu like the fried chicken and the cinnamon rolls! read more

Grandy's is a restaurant I have loved since I was a kid. I love Southern home cooking and Grandy's makes it easy to grab some chicken fried steak and mashed tatoes and gravy to take home or enjoy in your car. The food is true comfort food and very filling. I wish people would understand what Grandy's is about. It's not eat as you drive food. It's a real meal that packs some calories and fat that can keep you fueled all day. One of the cheapest places you will eat as well considering how much food you get and how big the drinks are. Is it a 2 fork restaurant? No, but it was never meant to be. Love my local Grandy's and I hope more people give it a chance. read more

Horrible place! They told my wife she could only have 2 rolls after my wife asked for 4 rolls. My wife offered to pay for the additional rolls and they told her no she could have 2. This is by far the worst experience ever! This place needs some serious help. read more

Horrible customer service!!! Order wasn't right and they acted like it was a problem to get it corrected. While I was eating in the dining room a woman comes out with a nasty broom and starts sweeping right at my feet and using the broom that is on the floor to wipe off the tables and seats. When I asked her to stop sweeping near me she said sorry just doing my job and continued to sweep right around me almost like she enjoyed making a customer mad. They obviously don't care about customer service. No manager to be found. Will never come back. If no stars were an option i would have picked that!!! I love grandy's but this location is poor! I just have to wonder what kind of health code there is for using the broom that goes in the bathroom on the table you eat from!!!! read more

Fries were cold, but fortunately the portion was small. I was given exactly 11 fries, modt of them small. My wife ordered the funnel cake fries. The dipping sauce cup was not even 1/4 full. She asked the employee at the counter for mor. The lady was rude, and begrudgingly added a little more dipping sauce to the cup. At this point it was about 1/3 full. We go to this Grabdy's 2-3 times a month. We noticed the quality of the service and the food deteriorating recently. We won't be going any more. read more

I've eaten there twice in the past couple of weeks. Their service is excellent and the fried chicken was also excellent. I like gizzards, I know that is strange, & they were also very good. This place is a waste of time. They are slow! I started going here after stopping at one on I-20 on my way moving to Texas. The food was awesome. The cinnamon roll is what really did it for me. I was pleased to see it was a location close to where i was moving. My 1st trip was great and then it went all down hill. Not one time have i been since then I have been pleased. I watched a employee give me the last cinnamon roll in the pan that had been sitting there for a while. But there was a fresh pan of them right beside it and she couldnt get it out easily so she shrugged her shoulders and gave me the old one. Mind you, I was standing right there looking. The chicken began to taste old and they started slacking on the breakfast portions. My last visit was in November 2015 to try the turkey and dressing special. Still not pleased! This is a great place to eat! The employees are so nice! We commute here from Sherman and once a week we normally eat at this Grandy's restaurant. Whether you eat inside or go through the drive-thru expect great service and great food! I want to give a shout-out to an outstanding employee who normally works the drive-thru when we come by and on the receipt I believe her name is listed as Chata. I really wanted to like this place, but I did not come away with a good impression. Went with the drive through. The interior looked pretty dated from the outside. The harsh white fluorescent lighting didn't help. The interior seemed like that kind of creepy like some diner you'd see in the deep south in the middle of nowhere. The Hills Have Eyes. That sort of thing. As for the food, the first thing that struck me was that the meals all seemed somewhat expensive. In terms of value, they are all far superior to a McDonald's meal (thin sliced government subisidized beef with cheap potato and drink sweetened with government subsidized corn syrup, basically all corn and beef both of which are subsidized) or even the chicken meals at Cane's (chicken with wheat, potato and iceberg lettuce), but they still feel a buck or two too expensive. I'd say it's because the main course of the meal (the chicken or whatever) is equivalent in quantity to the sides you order, so it all feels like some sort of insubstantial sampler platter. The fact that drinks are also extra was a bit surprising. The chicken nuggets didn't seem very fresh. The chicken was tender, but the battered coating was somewhat on the chewy side, likely because it'd been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. Beans were far too sweet and salty. Okra was on the chewy side too. Not that great when there are other restaurants serving homestyle foods for a slighter higher price with significantly better quality like The String Bean a little ways down the road. read more

I wish there were negative stars. I have gone here several times for breakfast on Sunday morning before going to work. No more. These women are the absolute worst employee I have ever seen. The buffet bar never has enough food. When you ask for something that had been all eaten, they tell you they are making more. Thirty minutes later, it is still not refilled.
