The service here is great! Only thing is you have to ask or look for someone if you need something, they didn't really check up on how we were doing or how the food was. I would recommend coming here for breakfast or brunch. Seems like those items are better. Dinner menu isn't as great. Ended up here by mistake because another restaurant we wanted to go to in the area was too long of a wait. I'm so glad we came to Great Maple!!! It wasn't my first choice because at first glance, the menu seemed like plain American food, but upon closer inspection, it is clearly elevated. I couldn't even choose one thing because there were a variety of great options to choose from. I ended up going with the rib eye melt and my husband went with the burger. Both sooo flavorful and magnificent. I was truly impressed. He also ordered a beer and I got a cappuccino. And to share we got truffle fries. The truffle fries were also divine. Still killin' it! Great Maple is one of my top 10 favorite places to eat. The food is excellent and the service is impressive. You can't go wrong at Great Maple. Just make sure you have a reservation! They get crowded and walk-in's usually have to wait an hour or more. They offer patio seating and indoor seating. Very comfortable dining experience. We have done both; indoor and outdoor experience. Both were pleasant. The macaroni and cheese is a highlight! It is one of the best Mac and cheeses we have ever had. Seriously, it's that good. 10/10 Those truffle fries keep us coming back. We love how the fries are seasoned perfectly. Nice Parmesan flavor. It came with fresh fruit, whipped butter, and scrambled eggs. The kids menu (came with crayons) was interactive with crossword puzzles, tic tac toe, and i-spy images. They even brought out a gorgeously printed plastic cup and straw for water. We ordered the Fried Chicken & Doughnuts and, boy, was it a sight to see. There were two decadent bacon maple-glazed doughnuts and two hearty fried chicken, which were crispy, juicy & flavorful. We also enjoyed the Thick Cut Smoked Bacon. I'd skip the Ribeye Hash though. The price may be on the higher end, but you have to consider the taste, service, and ambiance. I look forward to coming back and trying other items on the menu. A very lovely restaurant to have a nice tasty meal at. I really enjoyed my lemon shrimp. This is a lunch portion. I do not eat a lot, and I was able to finish all of this. Their donuts were good, but they were a little hard. The inside is softer, the outside is more like a hard crunch. It's those type of donuts if you've ever had them. The shrimp was so good. I just have to throw that out there again. I tried their pink drink their advertising when you first walk in, it was good, but not great. I will say it is kind of hard to hear people speak in there. It's very loud. You can hear people's conversations, you can hear, forks clanking, the sound travels a lot in this particular establishment. The bathrooms are clean, nothing special about them. This is a nice restaurant if you would like to take someone to lunch, brunch it would be great for a nice birthday. The staff is friendly, however, we needed water multiple times and didn't have it, I believe we even had to ask another staff for utensils because we weren't given any. And I forgot to mention, when being taken to our seats, I had to wipe my seat down with my hand because there were crumbs all over my seat. So I did have to clean the chair off before hand. Been wanting to try this place since I saw it few months ago, but was always too busy with a long wait. Got lucky today and was able to get a table right away even though it still looked busy. Kind of hard to go wrong with that combination, especially when this place specializes in maple. The maple bacon doughnuts were warm, fluffy and so damn tasty. It was much better than any maple doughnuts I had in the past. I could be wrong but thought there was a bit of spiciness on the maple glaze. To counter some of that unhealthy meal, I also got Maple Pecan Crusted Salmon, which was quite good, although not visually appealing. It came with riced cauliflower and some other chopped up green veggies. Cajun Shrimp Biscuit Benedict was just ok. I really didn't detect any cajun flavor, and the biscuit was somewhat pasty in texture. I think this dish would be much better if it used its maple doughnut instead of biscuit. Service was decent. What a disappointment. The food is served in "large" portions to try and mask the horrible taste. Everything was big and had NO flavor. The steak and eggs were flavorless, the scalloped potato looked and tasted like brown bland potatoes with no fresh ingredient taste. They looked old. They poured some brown thickened gravy on the biscuit which I didn't ask for. The gravy didn't match the steak and was full of flour. We had the bland Mac and cheese and then swapped the chicken soup for French toast before our entrees but they didn't want to be courteous and hold our entrees and deliver the French toast first. We were told it would come after our entrees which is fine but they were letting us know they wouldn't be accommodating a change we made early in the meal before our starters and wouldn't hold the entrees for us. I have never had a restaurant not accommodate a change. The chicken sandwich was thigh meat fried instead of breast meat which is uncommon and makes the meat slip out the bun making it a sloppy mess of a sandwich. I saw someone else having to cut it to eat it. It was not a good sandwich. We brought our food home and I don't even want to give it to our dogs. For $150 I could have gone to Coastal Kitchen or someplace that I know the food would be fresh and tasty. This was a waste. Asked for chair for my $10k bag and was told NO, I was holding it with a carpal tunnel cast on and not until I asked AGAIN was the chair given to me. The woman next to me had a chair for her bag and there were tons of chairs they could have given me. The shape of their chairs is not something that can hold a bag so maybe have bag stools for patrons. I will not be returning and told my daughter not to go ever again as the food was so terrible. They are located right next to Nordstrom at fashion island. I normally get the mushroom fries as appetizers and the chicken bowl for entree. The mushroom fries are crispy and comes with a pesto aoli. Its topped with some Parmesan cheese. The chicken bowl has cauliflower, sautéed veggies, avocado, brussel sprouts and hummus. Its flavorful with a bunch of veggies. My husband likes to get the chicken and doughnuts. It comes with some crispy bacon as well. And for dessert, we get the seasonal doughnuts. We just love the food here and its definitely a nice place for brunch or catching up with some friends over drinks as they have a bar here. First time here. Was seated right away. Pet friendly per the other diners seated in their patio dining area. Our server was nice, but she was busy attending to so many tables! No complaints there though. We did have to wait a bit for our checks and then to pay afterwards... but I was able to ask another employee who was able to help me. We ordered a good variety of food to share. They were all pretty good. The spritz drink was mediocre. The lemon shrimp pasta was a bit salty and had a very strong lemon flavor. This was our first time here and we plopped ourselves at the bar for immediate seating and enjoyed a bloody mary before ordering. For the warmer months, I like that they have a generous patio. My husband had chilaquiles and I ordered the smoked bacon scramble (sub sausage for bacon). Both our dishes were delicious but the one negative remark I have is that my scrambled eggs were powdered - such a horror. I could get better pasta at any random country club. Chicken taco salad - I could probably make a better salad at home. To top it all off, I had major food poisoning after this meal. This was the only new food I had today. Beignets - I came here to try the beignets but they are literally BRICKS with how dense these are. Not sure what everyone else is talking about on here. Beignets are supposed to be light and fluffy! Service/ambiance - Service was rushed and our server was nowhere to be seen for 90% of our meal. Beignets arrived with 0 utensils, so it took 10 minutes for a server to bring utensils to our table. The check took 15 minutes to be brought our table, then it took another 15 minutes to flag someone down to actually charge the card. The place was crowded and hectic, probably due to the upcoming Christmas holiday; I know it's not the servers' fault that the restaurant was so understaffed. This is a delicious and substantial sandwich, with tender beef and a great flavor profile. Nicely executed! I ordered the cinnamon sugar latte which was really not sweet at all to my surprise, and she brought me over some vanilla syrup without me even asking! I also ordered the mac and cheese, chicken and maple donuts, and the eggs benedict. The mac and cheese is a MUST TRY. We all shared it and loved every bite it is so delicious, creamy, and not overwhelming with cheese flavor. The chicken and maple donuts were very good I just wish that they were a bit softer and warmed up! The eggs benny was very good and I loved the scalloped potatoes on the side. I've heard so much lore about the Great Maple, so I had to check it out for myself! The hype around the Chicken and Donut plate is real and absolutely justified. My chicken pieces were juicy and well crisped, and the donuts were fluffy and just the right amount of fluffiness. The salad was balanced and well dressed, not too soaked and not dry. Ribeye hash was great paired with the salad. Lots of different textures and tastes happening across these three dishes. The service was fantastic, and everyone had a smile on their face and a can do attitude. I'm on the fence about the ambiance of the restaurant itself, and perhaps it's because I may not fit the aesthetic of the other guests dining myself.
