I lived in Brazil for a couple of months and really got used to the steakhouse is there. I just moved to Long Beach and I was so pleasantly surprised that there was a Brazilian steakhouse here as well and I must say that I am really overjoyed that's such a high-quality place exists. I really love the ambience and the food. It really felt like I was back in Floripa. The steaks were top-notch all of them perfectly cooked and the was something I really really enjoyed. The service was very quick and very friendly. The steaks came at a blistering pace, I couldn't keep up, which is something so great to have. They had anything from sirloin to chicken drumsticks to ribeye, so much more. I had to try as many of them, but I couldn't. It's just kind of a cool experience to have meets a varying kinds at random. Just come at you and it's just a great experience to have that happen. I did spend $200 for two people. Make no mistake. This is definitely not cheap, but I think it was worth it and my girlfriend enjoyed it too even though she eats like a little mouse. I will be back very soon! read more

First off, the dinner is $68.95 and there's no pricing for "salad bar only". So if someone in your party just wants the salad bar, they still have to pay $68.95. I was going to bring my family here to celebrate me and my sister's birthday, but my parents are vegetarians. We've gone to Fogo de Chao in the past, and my parents loved the salad bar there, and they were able to just pay for that. Green Field used to have an option for that too, but not anymore, I guess. I used to go here all the time, and it was great, but that was like 10 years ago. Reading the reviews, it seems like the customer service and quality has really declined. I've even brought a cake before to celebrate my wife's birthday, and I was shocked to read reviews that say they now charge $1 per slice to slice your own cake! How ridiculous and petty. Since Fogo de Chao is only a couple bucks more for the dinner, and they have a "salad bar only" price, it looks like we'll be going there. read more

My family and I had been looking for a good Brazilian steakhouse and decided to give Green Field Churrascaria a try. First off, the place is huge and very fancy looking, which makes the whole experience feel special right when you walk in. If you're a carnivore, this is definitely the place to go. They have a huge variety of meats coming around constantly, and the buffet also has a pretty solid salad bar along with other tasty sides. Overall everything we tried was delicious. I also have to mention that the service is great. The servers are always checking in on you to make sure you have everything you need, which really adds to the experience. That said, as someone who really loves steak, I did find that a few of the cuts were a bit too salty for my taste, which threw me off a little. It didn't ruin the experience, but it's something I noticed. On the positive side, the drinks were great--especially the Brazilian-style cocktails. And the natural ice creams they offer at the end are a really nice touch to finish the meal. Overall a very good experience, great atmosphere, great service, and lots of delicious food. Very large restaurant with very good food, for meat lovers! The buffet had decent salads and a few entrees, but the star is the meat, that is brought to your table, sizzling on skewers. The quality and taste of the meat was excellent. I loved the brisket, short ribs and skirt steak. The lamb was good too. Great chimichurri and Brazilian bread served on the table. Service was friendly and very efficient. Parking was easy in the large lot. Decor was nice, white tablecloths and napkins. I wish they had more variety in the barbecue, maybe some chicken and shrimp. Don't be mistaken by other older reviews saying $34.95 or $39.99. $4.50 for soda. (They do have good coffee, too) All around worth the price. Today's picanha was perfection. great buffet. Coconut white fish soup and chicken stroganoff is delicious. For what we eat, lunch menu felt the same as the dinner menu. Great attentive, friendly service, very clean. Make sure you come on an empty stomach ready to eat! I underestimated myself and wish I skipped the salad bar to save more room for the delicious meats. My absolute favorite was the meat photographed (top sirloin) and it was the first meat they brought out. I also loved the skirt steak and chicken hearts (which I didn't know was a part of the menu). So many options at the salad bar as well! I usually don't opt in for dessert but the dulce de leche cheesecake was so rich! I've been here before! I'm sure of it! But it's probably over 10 years ago. Anyway, my mom flew in from Asia and it's her birthday today! Yay! Happy birthday, mom! My little sis decided to take us all out... because the lamb I bought got bad and we couldn't cook it. Amazing ambiance, great service, great food, great salad bar, great dessert and coffee and what a surprise! They brought my mom a birthday ice cream dish dessert with a candle! We loved all the meats... but especially, the picaña, ribeye, lamb, top sirloin, Tri tip, brisket, chicken hearts (good vitamins)! Don't get too full of the salad bar! They have good Brazilian garlic rice and feijoada! The coconut fish was yummy too! Wow! Our Desserts were Dulce de leche cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake, pineapple sorbet in a pineapple, cappuccino... I'm stuffed! So glad I wore my pink yoga pants! lol! If you want to end your evening happy and content in a meat coma, this is the place to go. I have been dining here for years and never leave disappointed. Some people call the decor dated but I really enjoy the ambience. As soon as you enter, the lobby looks nice with a wall waterfall over dark stone. The bar is to the right along with an attached dining area. The main dining area is large with a blue painted wood ceiling. As soon as you are seated, a generous basket of Brazilian cheese balls arrives. A delicious bread outside with soft mild cheese on the inside, you could just eat multiple baskets of them and be happy. The buffet area is extensive and has a good variety of meats cheeses and bread, shrimp cocktail, various soups and salads, and usually chicken and fish dishes also. The real gem is the churrascaria. They are no slow pokes here and the various skewers of meat arrive at your table pretty much non stop. On this visit we enjoyed multiple rounds of skirt steak, beef rib, picanha, top sirloin, ribeye, lemon pepper sirloin, tri-tip, pork sausage, lamb, beef brisket, chicken hearts, grilled pineapple, and grilled garlic bread. You can request a specific meat and they'll throw it right on the grill for you. They have a good wine list and we had a bottle of Malbec. If you actually have room left for dessert, the dessert menu is mouth watering and you'll wish you saved more room. I had the lemoncello flute again this time which is light and refreshing. I have had most of the ripienos which are delicious and are served in the actual shell of the real fruit. Service is great and the staff is always friendly and very attentive. I went to Green Field Churrascaria for my friends birthday celebration and we were 6 people total. The parking is small, but there is plenty of street parking available as well. The restaurant is very spacious and there are many tables. It was not busy on a Saturday night, so it was nice to get seated quickly. The waiter came by and explained how the serving works, it is an open buffet for the sides and then there are workers with different types of meat coming by and offering slices to try. The buffet contained a lovely variety of options that were delicious. My favorites were the shrimp ceviche, the corn esquite, and the penne pasta. Now on to the good stuff, the meats were a good variety and they even came back out with a well done piece when I asked for it. My favorites were the skirt steak and the sirloin. They were very flavorful and tender. We had brought our friend a cake that one of us made, but the restaurant told us they would charge us a dollar per piece of cake if we wanted them to slice it. We opted out and later they brought him a serving of ice cream. Overall, I would want to try Green Field Churrascaria again. read more

Fantasitic meat selections and love that everything is cooked on charcoal. The beef rib was by far the best cut of meat I've ever had at a Brazilian Steakhouse. The salad bar was pretty good too though I felt like could have more variety of items. Cuts of fruit and more salads would be nice. The oxtail was so good! Absolute terrible experience and will not be back. Seemed like it was taking forever between rounds of meat, so we decided to time it, 25 minutes the last time. After being asked 3 different times if we were done to clear our plates, so we told them no we were still waiting on dinner. Finally gave up and asked for the bill, in which they tried charging two desserts! Then the waiter argued with me saying my wife and I already finished the desserts so we have to pay for them. Talked to a manager and he didn't seem to care either. Took the desserts off our tab, asked me to sign and didn't have anything to say in regards to the horrible experience. First time back in a few years; we had booked a reservation for Father's Day dinner. The restaurant was fairly busy at 5:15. The salad/cold food bar had plenty of options; they were constantly restocking platters so we made a few trips during the course of the meal to see all the options. We loved the cocktail shrimp, pesto pasta, greek salad vegetable medley, cheeses and beets. They also have a hot station with mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, and fish in coconut sauce. The soup container was empty the entire evening, however- the only real negative. Our waiter and the meat servers were friendly and attentive. They have a full bar but we did not order cocktails. The variety of meats offered was satisfying and well prepared on the rotisseries in the kitchen(which you can view). If you are served the outer slices of beef carved off the spit it can be very salty. The ribeye steak and picahna were the best, medium rare and juicy. We also tried the big chicken drumsticks, garlic sirloin, trip tip, lamb, and skirt steak, all delicious. As long time customers, we knew we could ask for a specialty item- thin sliced pineapple grilled with cinnamon. We ate it so quickly I didn't have time to take a photo! We did not see an item that used to be on the hot buffet- the fried plantains, which are like little banana churros. We asked the waiter and were told that now they are cooked to order and served if you request it. We were too full to try it this trip, but good to know they are still available. There is a delectable dessert cart as well for an additional cost. Prices have increased a bit, but all restaurants have done that as well, so, for the quality and amount of food, $75 a person is okay for us, for a special occasion. They are open 7 days a week til late evening. Lunch is 11-3 weekdays; dinner-is 3-close on weekdays and served all day on weekends and holidays. read more

The food overall was okay. I'd recommend the house picanha. Would I come back? Nah. I made a reservation for two and specified that it was my girlfriend's birthday. When we arrived, I reminded the manager, but nothing was done--no candle, no acknowledgment. I wasn't expecting a free sundae or anything like that (I saw another table get one), but when I ordered dessert, they didn't even bother putting a small candle on it. The meat takes forever to come out. It really feels like they try to get you full on the salad bar / cold station first--which, honestly, was pretty underwhelming. The cheese tasted like an assorted tray straight from Ralphs. My girlfriend is vegetarian, and she had a really hard time eating here. There were barely any options for her, and nothing really tasted good. When the bill came, I asked why she was being charged the full amount, since I had specified from the beginning that she's vegetarian. I was genuinely just asking. The server gave me attitude like I was asking for something outrageous. At places like Fogo de Chão and other Brazilian steakhouses, they usually don't charge her the full price since she doesn't eat meat. Then the manager came over--also with an attitude--and offered a senior discount, which I obviously declined. We're not seniors, and we're not trying to be cheap. We were simply asking because most places we go to handle this differently. And before anyone asks: why would I take my vegetarian girlfriend to a steakhouse on her birthday? I actually took her somewhere else first. I was coming off a 72-hour fast and only eat meat, and she agreed to also stop by the steakhouse so I could eat too. All of the sides were delicious. My daughter and I agreed that we could have been satisfied just filling up on the sides. The other guys wisely kept their mouths shut since I was picking up the tab. We all agreed that the lemon pepper steak was outstanding while the other meats were only great. One of us did not care for the lamb. I won't identify who, but she said it was a bit "gamey." I disagreed. Lamb should taste like lamb, not beef nor mutton. Meats - 5 of 5 Sides - 5 of 5 Salads - 4 of 5, who comes to a churrascaria for the salad anyway? They didn't offer my Crab salad or other options for sea food salad options, soups available today was fish & coconut sauce only, no other choices. So now I'm a little irritated, they minimized the selection at the salad and soup bar. It took 15 minutes before I got my ice tea, asked my waiter about the cheese bread that took another 5 minutes to reach the table. Asked for some napkins which I never got from my server, had to ask another server which she brought to me right away. It took 25 minutes of sitting there starving, sipping on my ice tea before the first round of meat came, garlic steak, advised the meat server, I asked my waiter to let them know I wanted to start with the beef ribs, rib eye, and pork ribs (which I was told was not available). Received the beef ribs and rib eye which were delicious. However, now it took another 15 minutes before the next service of meat came out, the flow of service was just off and I'm getting more and more irritated. I have been coming here since I was 4 and everything is just how i remember it, the steak is perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. Picanha is obviously a favorite, thats basically the only reason why we go!! They new we liked the picanha and they cane by so often my plate was never empty. I cannot believe this place doesnt get packed! I love that they keep the culture up with music that plays and the ambiance of the restaurant. 100/10 I am ready to go back already!! This place deserves more hype then fogo de chao, greenfield still uses charcoal to cook making the steak authentic compared to other chain resturants. read more

This happens to be my first time here and I came to have dinner on Thanksgiving with family from out of town ... First of all the restroom wreaked of piss that you smell from the waiting area and hallway. I noticed because I wanted to take a picture of the butterfly art on the wall.... Second...we were limited the choice of meat we were given as opposed to the tables around us that seem to get their full compliment of the offered fare. We are a blended group but do I dare say it was because we are black majority?!?! I don't know the reason but for the price of the evenings meal I was greatly underwhelmed and would not be recommending this establishment for future visits .... Sangria tasted like cough syrup and was offered a cranberry juice or sprite to make it better. It was not better and I was still charged for it even though I clearly did not enjoy the drink. Hasn't been to Green Fields in a while and thought I'd give it a try as I was hosting my family from our off town. Some meat options were good but most were too salty. Maybe the yucca fries could have been good but when we were there, all the bread and fries were stale, definitely not what you expect from such an expensive meal. To top it off, we were not told the dessert and coffee was extra, adding another 150 to our bill, my slice of cake was not worth 25 dollars, nor was the dollop of coconut sorbet. I may have left less offended if I'd been week informed about the extras I would have to pay but for $100 a plate, I'd rather go to Fogo de Chao. I didn't get there initially because I thought it would safe a little going to a local spot but how wrong I was. They hide the prices here and hit you with it at the end. All the extra prices are well advertised on Fogo de Chao's website and they actually have the dessert wanted, at half the price. I heard this place had gone downhill but I wanted to see for myself, don't bother coming here, it will probably close soon as most have caught on that it's too expensive and the quality doesn't match(it was mostly empty on a Sunday night). I expect to see a Fogo de Chao here one day. Until, stay away and let it die. read more
