Surprisingly very good. First time coming here, and I was a little thrown off by the restaurant name as Hibachi is typically a Japanese dish. I wasn't sure what to expect and if this was a going to be a fusion with Mexican flavors. It wasn't. It was typical Hibachi without the show. I ordered The Delux which was steak, chicken, shrimp with rice and veggies. This entree comes with 3 shrimps so I ordered a side of 3 more to share with my husband. The food smelled delicious and tasted so good too. I thought the chicken and beef was a little over done. I ordered the beef Medium but it came out Well Done and the chicken was slightly tough. I think if the meat was a little more tender and juicier, I would have given them 5 stars. The shrimp, rice, and veggies were delicious and flavorful. Shrimp was plump and juicy. Generous amounts of beef, chicken, and rice. Regardless, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and it was plenty for 2 people to share. Came here around 6pm and there was no one at the restaurant but the parking lot was full from other restaurants that share the same parking space. Ordered my food to go but the person at the counter was friendly and asked if I needed more sauce. read more

I had been seeing this place pop up on Instagram and I finally tried it out! I went around noon and there was no wait so my food was done pretty quick and it smelled so good. From the moment I walked in the customer service was excellent and made me feel very welcomed. The classic: One of the first bites I had a chewy piece of chicken which worried me thinking the rest of the chicken would be chewy. I started to eat the meat and it was good, but I think it was lacking some flavor. The fried rice was very good and flavorful. The portions were amazing and some of the biggest portions given at any hibachi place! Garlic butter was ordered as a side but it was not needed given that the food already tasted like it had some. However, the garlic butter did not taste like garlic, more so just plain butter. The hana: My first bite from the chicken was also chewy. It made me think that the chicken was not cooked well. As I moved pieces around I tried another piece of chicken and it was cooked well, so I'm not sure why some pieces may have been chewy. The shrimp was good, no complaints. The rice was also very good and portions were big. Overall, this place has such great customer service and portions sizes you won't get at other hibachi places. Flavor was lacking and some pieces of chicken could have been cooked better. I would come again and do recommend for others to try! read more

Ordered pickup because I have wanted to try the food here for a while. It is located in the Taco Bell lot on Pablo verde and stearns. For 30 dollars I got chicken steak veggies and rice. The food was very tasty and flavorful. Next time I might opt out of steak due to there being a few super fatty pieces. They gave plenty of food and it fed 2. Everything here is top tier quality ! I recommend this place because it will never disappoint, portions are very generous, and the flavor never misses. Man, I wish I could rate this place higher but it was not all that great. I ordered a 10$ Hibachi bowl with chicken and though it looked like a lot of food in the photo, it was not. It was mainly just rice and veggies and a few very small pieces of chicken :/ I get it though, you get what you pay for lol. The service was good though and the cashier was very kind to us and everyone who came in to pick up an order. He even ran the food over to our table when it was ready. I made it here finally and great vibe smells so good. wanted to try this place after seeing owner take action with a Uber eats delivery driver on social media. The food looks so good. It's irresistible. The owner is passionate and explained the menu and warm friendly clean environment. They have a $10 lunch option and he also asked me how many people and set me up with the Long Beach combo. The food was very tasty. Like some others have mentioned it's like a Benihana (for example, fried rice and options of teriyaki chicken or steak or shrimp or combinations of the various proteins) but without the need or price of the whole show, the jokes, the smoke from a choo choo train, etc. I sure as heck don't need all of that. "I've eaten at a lot of places in Long Beach, but Mexihanas is now firmly in my top 3. From the moment we walked in, Malissa and the service was warm and attentive without being overbearing--as our server she knew the menu inside out and steered us toward the perfect meal. We started with the garlic noodles and some steak. So good! Portions are generous but not absurd, desserts (the triple chocolate cake, do it) are worth saving room for, and the atmosphere is up beat. I read about Mexihanas during COVID. Because I am a huge habashi fan and with most restaurants closed, I gave them a try. I have enjoyed their meals since. The food is a little pricey but delicious. It's always something. The pic on DoorDash that Mexihanas links to place orders here on Yelp is NOT what they gave me. The pic shows steak with rice and veggies, which is what I get when I walk in and order their special. Open my food now and it's literally some steak chopped up in a box and nothing else. Fix your page, pics, something, so what the customer is getting is not misrepresented. Again, I really want to support this small business but it continues to just baffle me with something always being messed up. And for $50 you might think more than two tiny sauce packets. This was our first time here and we went there because of a video we saw on Instagram with LASeepy818. I was reading the reviews while waiting and saw a few what star reviews all I can say is every restaurant might have an off night but for us soon as we walked in it looked clean and smelled clean. We were greeted by Martine who is extremely friendly and goes out of his way for the customers. We got the big platter with lobster beef chicken fish rice and those wonderful garlic noodles. He was catering to us the whole time we were there it was a little slow so he did have some time to talk with us. We got an extra order of garlic noodles to go and have a piece of chocolate cake. Great food at great prices! We call ahead for to go orders and usually wait 15-20 minutes for pick up. Staff is always friendly. My go to order is #2: Deluxe! The Yellowtail Carpaccio was a lot easier to eat. Overall, I realize this restaurant is more catered towards teppanyaki, but if they decided to make a whole separate menu for sushi, the quality needs to be good enough for people to want to order it again.

They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. I'd still give them another chance in the future... after I get paid!

Mine was spiciest of the two. I really enjoyed the meat, but my favorite was the steak. The sauce that came with it was good and the rice was terrific. The price for it was reasonable so I would definitely make this my go-to spot for Teriyaki. They do make burritos, wraps and burgers so might want to try those one day but happy that my experience at this new spot was excellent.

Also I had so many collard greens at other places and these taste like they sposed to taste. They are SPICY, but the flavor so perfect you gone keep eating no matter how hot they are. Once again, if you a BLACK PERSON in the 4th street area fasho fasho pull up. Hours a lil tough, but the food is worth it.

It's run by a husband-and-wife team who are genuinely doing something special here. The food is incredibly fresh, authentic, and clearly made with care..but what impressed me even more was the level of personal attention. My daughter needed to be careful about what she could tolerate, and they took the time to make her cocktail specifically for her. I don't eat tomatoes, so instead of simply telling me what I couldn't have, they made fresh guacamole without tomato and even fresh ceviche without tomato. No attitude, no inconvenience--just, "Of course, we can do that." That tells you everything about this place. The food was outstanding, the ingredients were fresh, the service was exceptional, and the owners could not have been more gracious. It also has this wonderful, tucked-away, secluded feeling by the bay--which I personally love. You can actually relax, have a great meal, and enjoy some privacy. There are plenty of restaurants that serve good food. It's much harder to find one where the people, food, atmosphere, and attention to detail all come together like this. I will absolutely be back...again and again. Five stars doesn't come close.
