I'm not a vegetarian. At all. Never have been, truly cannot envision a world in which I ever will be. That being said, I adore Green. I forgot it existed for a really long time, and fairly recently rediscovered the Scottsdale location. It's not too far from my house, and definitely on my drive home from work... So I foresee this becoming an issue. We went to take out a few dishes on a Friday night, because February-March is the time of year when my life becomes consumed by college basketball, and there was an Arizona game on that night. The line out the door was a little daunting at first, but moved pretty quickly. Pro tip: If you order and pay online, you can mosey on right past all of the peasants in line and just pick your order up at the counter. Pro tip 2: If you order a tsoynami at the same time as the rest of your food, it gives you pretty much the perfect amount of time to scarf down the tsoynami while you're waiting for your order to come out. Our tsoynami of choice on this trip was the Fluffernutterin. Peanut buttery, banana-y, toasty marshmallowy greatness, combined with the swirlytwirly ice cream of course. It doesn't even taste soy based. It just tastes like heaven. We decided to share the animal fries. French fries are some of my favorite things in the entire world, and cheese right alongside it, so I was pretty skeptical about vegan cheese ruining one of my favorite dishes. But realistically, I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between vegan cheese and normal American cheese (because let's be honest, it's hardly even real cheese). The fries were excellent, just a tiny bit soggy from the drive home. The onions fried perfectly, and the thousand island flavorful without being too acidic. I was also hesitant about the $5.50 price tag, but you get a TON of fries. Definitely would/will get again. I'm totally fine to have vegetarian meals here and there, but I'm not a big fake meat person; I have to imagine a big percentage of it is mental, but I feel like fake meat usually makes me feel unwell. So, I opted for the Thai Peanut Bowl, with the house tofu. Best call. Their house tofu is amazing; fried to perfection, it absorbs the sauces but doesn't get soggy and fall apart. The sauce on the bowl was really tasty, just spicier than I was anticipating it'd be (I'm kind of a baby when it comes to spice though). The brown rice was just a little bit overcooked, it seemed a bit dry. The veggies in my bowl seemed to be in kind of a weird limbo state between being raw and cooked... I think I would've preferred them to be left on the pan for just a few minutes longer. Overall, pretty tasty. Just could've used a tiny bit extra love. Undoubtedly, I will be back. I visit Phoenix from New York from time to time on business. I have been to the other location, but this was my first time at the location in Tempe. First thing I noticed was the really cool decor. One wall is covered by car doors painted all different colors. The service was really lovely. All of the staff was kind and helpful. You order at the counter, pay and bring a number to your table and then it is delivered. I went with two Omni friends. Two of us had the big wac (pictured), another had a classic burger. We were all beyond pleased. Also had the West Coast fried which were yummy. Finished it off with the Betterfinger soynami. I was full and satisfied for my red eye. Can't wait to do back. read more

I love this place and I'm not even a vegan. All the menu items (that I've tried so far) are delicious and everyone is nice. I do have one suggestion- the whole line situation is a poor design and can be easily adjusted. I went in the other day to pick up a to go order and had to wait in a long line with undecided people and the friendly staff member pretty much explained every dish in detail to that person. First off, the food was very good. But this was the worst customer service I've ever gotten. Went in right before the dinner rush, ordered and sat down to wait for them to bring the food to our table. After 30 minutes and many others who came after us getting their food, we asked the acting manager what the delay was. After a few minutes, young employee came out and said "the printer broke so some orders got lost". After another 10 minutes they started to bring pieces out, but at such wildly different times. Chips came out, 10 minute later sandwiches, 20 minutes late our sides of fries. 1. Our food was never even made and was never going to get made unless we complained. 2. I got a different sandwich than I paid for. The fries came over an hour after we ordered them, and were not seasoned with thyme at all. 3. The manager wouldn't even come talk to us, they sent a young newer employee to break the bad news. No refund or extras, but we didn't even get an real apology! They are low key the best taco house in town , this chef is not lazy with creative new taco specials weekly that are out of this world. Good stuff here! So I've been to Nami before and it's one of my faves but this was my first time at green. Awesome place to get your meat-free junk food fix. Everything on the menu looked so good it was hard to choose! I ended up getting the big wac with a side of fries. I feel like $3.75 is a little pricey to have to pay for that side of fries, but they were pretty yummy fries. The big wac was massive! I loved the sauce on it. Honestly didn't care as much for the patties but I think that's just my personal taste. Was a nice big meal though! The friend I went with got a mock chicken BBQ sandwich and a tsoynami that had a bunch of stuff on it, she enjoyed it! A little pricey but cool place to go try something new. Green New American's thyme fries are to DIE for. I came in for the first time on a Saturday, I wasn't hungry enough for a full meal so I opted for some of their apps: the crab puffs and egg-less rolls, while my partner got the Spicy Po-Boy. I wasn't particularly impressed with my apps. The crab puffs had a great outer texture but the filling was a little too garlic-y and the spring rolls on the other hand felt kind of bland and overall, lacked flavor. The dipping sauce definitely helped but still, this is not something I'd probably order again. My four star review is mainly for what my partner ordered. The Po-Boy turned out to be amazing and I truly cannot find words to adequately describe how amazing the thyme fries are. Oh and their strawberry lemonade is a must-try! I ended up mixing some of the lime tea in to lessen the sweetness but even without that it was a 10/10 beverage. I'll definitely order something different from the menu next time, and until then I will be daydreaming about their fries! read more

FAV VEGAN JOINT IN THE VALLEY! Everything I have tried has been excellent. The staff is friendly and the service is fast.

Don't get intimidated by the line out the door, they're very efficient here. If you are in a rush, call in an order. This fare is vegetarian comfort food. Their mock chicken is really tasty, but eat it when it's nice and hot. The texture changes slightly when it's cold. The Dogobah salad with crispy Brussels sprouts is really good. Last summer, I brought about 6 or 8 people from a conference here with me and ended up being a big hero everyone loved it so much. Don't leave without trying a Tsoynami frozen soy dessert. I am not a vegetarian, and I am one of those guys who feels like I need meat with every meal to be satisfied, but I tried Green with an open mind, and they fully satisfied me. I've been going here for years and taking meat-eating friends, and most of them are also hooked. My favorites are: - The ice-cream dessert (Soynami). It's similar to a blizzard from Dairy Queen or a Concrete from Andy's Frozen Custard and super delicious! - The taco specials in a variety of flavors - The big wac, yes, this is a cleaner and better version than the famous fast food version - The buffalo wings. If you are taking a meat-loving first-timer here, I suggest the big mac and or chicken wings. These are so good at satisfying that mindset. read more

TL;DR: This used to be a solid vegan joint... A DECADE AGO. What's with these farkakte vegan places not being open for dine-in at this point, by the way? Green has cut their menu numerous times over the years and gotten rid of the healthier options, having left us with mainly junk food (SOY, anyone?!). Which, that's what Green is and always has been: vegan junk food. Save your wallet and your intestinal tract some indigestion and find somewhere else to dine - Green is shot. I started going to Green a decade ago when their fries were crispy and hot, when their menu had a robust selection of rice bowls. It started to go downhill maybe 5 or 6 years ago, and got to the point where I'd swear I'd never go again for the umpteenth time after receiving lukewarm, halfhearted "comfort" food. "New American" indeed. Frankly, nobody should be eating soy patties like this. Soy is terrible for your health, particulary for men. The prospect of eating a soy patty betwen two glutinous pieces of bread with soy-based cheese no longer entices me (in fact, it makes me sick). Additionally, Green has consistently raised its prices over the years, despite lowering its quality. You're looking at maybe $40 for two, for lunch. It's absurd. And if you wanna go next door to Nami for a sugar overload with even more soy, you're looking at another $10-15 for a treat and coffee. Soynamis? No, I DON'T think so! I'd actually prefer to not flood my body woth estrogen and destroy the quality of my boys, thanks. Green's interior, for me, is just not charming. It's far too cramped, and attracts unsavory, uncouth folks. That's not saying anything of the staff, who never acknowledged me as a regular, were almost never even remotely friendly. What is it with vegan joints and smug, condescending employees? Oh yeah, forget about finding a parking spot here. There were several times I just couldn't find a spot here due to the extremely limited parking, simply gave up and went elsewhere. It's a joke, and will melt your brain or cause an artery to rupture. Green used to be decent when it offered more healthy options instead of just "New American" junk food full of soy and other garbage. If you wanna eat this sort of food once in a blue moon, that's no problem, but don't make it a regular thing. Save your wallet and your health. This place is nothing but a big bunch of bupkis as far as I'm concerned. Do yourself a favor and head over to Coronado instead - the food is better for your health and your palate. read more

A pay first and find a seat after kind of place. There was plenty of seating and it wasn't too busy in the evening. We ordered the chili, tahini coleslaw, and the sesame dragon bowl with fresh tofu. The chili was flavourful and was just a nice comforting bowl of chili that warmed me up. The tahini coleslaw was refreshing and tasty. The rice bowl had plenty of sauce, but it became a bit too much in the end. I wish it had a bit more rice or veggies to go with it. Overall, it was a filling meal and everything was flavourful. First time checking this place out and boy did it not disappoint. I had no idea this place existed until my friend mentioned it to me. Recently I have been on a vegetarian kick and decided to give it a try. It is tucked away in a little strip mall plaza and hard to see from the street but totally worth it. I got a peanut chicken salad and it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh and savory. The chicken really tastes like chicken. The atmosphere is super laid back and just exudes healthy living. You can really tell those that eat here are on a healthy diet and pursuing the healthy lifestyle. I've really only been here once before and it was to get the cauliflower wings which are GREAT. But today, I thought I'd try one of their burgers and I've gotta keep in mind now that vegetarian does not mean healthy. I got The BFF chicken burger. The mock chicken patty was literally a slab of uncooked tofu. The avocado wasn't even full slices but a hot mooshy goo. There was supposed to be jalepenos on the burger and there technically were two which would be fine if they were completely blackened and floppy. I basically just ate a mush patty on bread. I'm gonna stick to the cauliflower wings. Also the Phoenix location is just better. Sad. read more

This place out front might not look like much but this is a gem hidden in North Tempe. Vegans and nonn-vegans alike can and will enjoy this place! There is truly something I gotta for everyone! From Tacos to loaded fries and burgers to vegan ice cream, this place is the real deal spot to cheat on your diet a little. I am not a vegan and my girlfriend is, I am always up to try vegan places with her, and this place from tthe first t time coming I said I would absolutely come back! I love the inside decor and the workers are so helpful and nice! The food isn't necessarily to the "raw" side of vegan cooking but rather allows vegans a place to enjoy some good greasy food! I love their loaded fries here, the sauces and toppings are amazing, specifically the East Coast Fries! They also rotate their tacos here it's always different. One week it may be an elote Taco and the next a Tikka Masala Taco, both amazing. Tried this place for the first time yesterday and the food tasted great! We had the Big Wac, crab puffs, and Philly cheesesteak with a side of fries... everything was delicious. The Big Wac actually tasted just like a Big Mac... plus they had their own version of the "special sauce" which was great! The staff was very nice and friendly too. The reason we gave it 4 out of 5 stars was because they were a little stingy with the "meat" on the cheesesteak. For the price of the sandwich, we would have liked a few more slices of the meat. With that being said, we would still recommend the restaurant and we will definitely return very soon! read more

I've been coming to Green for years now. When Chef Brasch left a previous (now defunct) establishment, I eagerly waited for Green to open. It did not disappoint. Green is vegan comfort food at its best. I've been vegetarian for twenty years and every once in a while I just want a BBQ "burger" (my favorite isn't on the menu anymore) or a fried "chicken" sandwich. Green is my go to--the BFF (fried "chicken," "cheddar," avocado, jalepeno) is just about the best thing ever. The menu has changed over the years to add more healthy options. There are plenty of veggie bowls now--and they're good--but you can find them anywhere. I say enjoy the junk food once in a while:) read more

Very good vegetarian food. I love how they have many of my favorite meals but without the meat. This place is usually very busy so a long line to order can be expected. Use this time to decide from the options on the menu or the refrigerator full of kombucha. This time I got the Singapore Orange rice bowl with the mock chicken. The sauce was a little too salty, but still tasty. Their mock chicken was downright delicious and I could eat it all the time. My boyfriend always get the po' boy sandwich and scarfed it down so fast I could only get one bite out of it. Lastly, I decided to try the Donatello tSoynami soft serve (vanilla with pecans, caramel sauce, and chocolate chips) for the first time and it was so delicious!
