We order takeout from Green Tea at least 2x a week and love their Singapore noodles w/ shrimp only. The helpings are so huge that my wife and I should share one order but then we wouldn't have any leftovers for lunch the next day! Great local family business that appreciate their customers. Standard Chinese take-out. Lunch specials start at 6.75. I tried the chicken with garlic sauce, which was just okay. The menu said spicy but I found it overall bland. You get your choice of fried or steamed rice with the lunch, and either a soda or soup (wonton/egg drop/hot and sour). I chose wonton soup and it was alright. My boyfriend enjoyed his sweet and sour chicken because the batter was good, not too sweet like some places. They have all the classics you're looking for and the prices are fairly low. I always judge prices by the crab wontons; here they are 8 pieces for $5.45. I'll be back to try them next time a takeout craving hits. read more

First time at Green Tea Chinese restaurant, the customer service was amazing. They greeted us upon entry. The place looked nice and clean. I ordered 2 spare ribs with pork fried rice and 1 steamed dumplings. I was a little disappointed because every time I go to a Chinese takeout spot I order the boneless spareribs, and this one had bone. However overall the food turned out to be good. We'll be making this our Chinese spot from now on! You should come to this place because it's clean, friendly and the price is fair especially the combinations. We stopped in while I was having my vehicle looked at across the street. We were the only ones in the place for the most part and the service was mediocre. Ordered the veggie lo mein & the green onion pancakes for my daughter and I to share and while the portion was good the noodles definitely lacked flavor and vegetables. I also would have liked some hot pepper oil or something on the side ...she did offer soy sauce or hot mustard (which i hopped on) but was pretty much done by the time she came back so wrote off the hot pepper oil. I don't know if I would give this place another try but I ordered 3 lunch combos and none of them contains fish or seafood, but the beef and beans when I took it home smelled like they cooked it with utensils that they cooked another order that had seafood. I've eaten from this restaurant in the past and it was decent. However, this last experience ruined me. I walked into the restaurant with my wife and two daughters and we placed our order. As we are sitting, waiting for our food to come out, I notice a family wrapping up a meal they had eaten. The older man at the table gets up and sneezed, with his mouth open. To our dismay, my daughters and I watched as snot flew out of his mouth and onto the floor. We looked at each other and shook our heads. Thinking he was a customer, our jaws dropped when we saw him gather the plates from the table and walk to the kitchen area where they were preparing our food! At that point we stood up and walked outside due to being sick what we just saw. As we were outside, still waiting for our food, the same man came outside, sat on the bench in front of the restaurant, lit a cigarette and began smoking. He then proceeded to cover one of his nostrils and blew more snot on the ground right in front of us! No tissue, hanky, or anything. Ordered Chinese again. This place, by far was one of the worst for Chinese food. The only thing my son enjoyed from the various dishes were the egg rolls. It's not really hard to make a decent egg roll, btw. The food we ordered were lacking...salt. They were bland. The hot and sour soup was mediocre at best. Lacked any protein, whatsoever. Lo Mein was soggy. If that weren't bad enough, we order a pork fried rice and it the meat was fatty and sparse, it lacked any depth of flavor. It was like eating poorly made white rice, colored brown. There was no flavor to speak of. Our trip to this place was a complete waste of money, as we ended up tossing the items that weren't enjoyable. I know, I could have called to complain, but honestly the business looked like it was on its last legs, with only a take out window open and a sparse number of condiments to be had. This restaurant was pretty good for the price. I loved the chicken lo Mein, best I've had. The chicken was fresh and in small strips (not the slimy slices like other places). Orange chicken with chicken fried rice wasn't too great, I think the fried rice had a weird taste to it so if I had gotten white rice it would've been much better. The orange chicken was decent, not my favorite though. It wasn't crispy on the outside it was more like a soft coating but the taste was good. If you enjoy canned meat, then this is the place for you. This was the lowest quality of food that I have eaten at a restaurant in a long time. The crisp vegetables in my Szechwan Chicken(canned) Was the most appetizing part. The egg roll was flavorless and the pork fried rice was very dry. My previous experiences with Green Tea Chinese Restaurant had been limited to only quick lunch orders and did not involve any interaction with the staff aside from paying for my lunch order. However, last night I decided to order dinner online from Green Tea. I placed an order for the Dinner For Two Combo. According to the website, this dinner includes 2 egg rolls, chicken fried rice, sweet & sour chicken and chicken chow mein. Until last night I could honestly say that my experience with this restaurant was positive. But my opinion change immediately upon paying for my meal. Customer service is a key factor in working in the food industry. After paying in cash I was due some change. The young cashier proceeded to get what I was die back from the register and in a very impolite manner simply said "here" as she handed me my change. It was very unusual and somewhat rude. Initially I thought it was due to her age (the cashier did not look any older than fourteen). But as you will read, her inability to interact with me politely is likely a result of the management at the restaurant. When I got home with my meal, I noticed I did not have chow mein in the bag. I drove back to the restaurant to exchange the dish I had with the dish I ordered. The same cashier as earlier helped me when I arrived. I advised her that I had not been given the right dish and showed what was in the bag. She told that what I had was right because chop suey comes with the Dinner For Two. Well, that's not what the website says, I told her. As she explained, again that chop suey is included with the dinner I ordered, an adult women came out and spoke with me. She told me the order was right. Again, I told her that the order is not right and reminded her that the order included chow mein. The woman then became defensive and borderline combative, insisting I was wrong. I told her that when I placed the order the online menu, my confirmation and the receipt all showed chow mein as part of the order. She proceeded to tell me that they changed the menu and pointed that out on the physical menu. She was very rude to me and at one point asked her why she was arguing with me. After all,I'm the customer. The website said chow mein. The receipt said chow mein. The phone rang and instead of offering to get me the right dish she decided to answer the phone. So I then asked the young cashier if they were going to make something else for me. We went back and forth for a bit. She tried to tell me that how mein is chop suey, which is not. At their restaurant chow mein was a noodle dish with crispy noodles. In the end they finally made me some lo mein. It's not my fault the online menu is wrong. They should have changed or bare minimum own up to the discrepancy between the two menus and just apologize for the mistake and make things right. Needless to say, I will NEVER go back. And if anyone ever asks about this restaurant, I'll be sure to tell them to go elsewhere. NOTE: the food Egg rolls seemed old and the cabbage inside them tasted funny. Local family owned place, great for takeout. I usually go once or twice a month because the kids eat the vegetables by the spoonful. I usually get beef broccoli and veggie lo mein for them and Szechwan shrimp for my wife and I. None of the menu spicy dishes are that hot so if you like spicy ask for your dish to be extra spicy. Soups are ok, crab wontons have been good inthe past but recently the wontons were a bit salty. Above average considering the other options in the area. read more

Pleasantly surprised! This place opened up down the street from where I live and I've been meaning to try it out. Finally tried it today. Another family run place which I love! Walked in and it's very basic, 4-5 tables, smaller place. We ordered the fried tofu lunch special and the beef chow fun. Being Chinese, I'm critical of Chinese restaurants because my family owned many and I'm used to home cooking. We were brought out a basket of fried wonton chips and a small container of sweet and sour, my gut told me that this wasn't a good sign, this was going to be a Panda Express experience. The meals came out, food was served on 9" dinner style plates and there was no shortage of food. The tofu was crispy and firm. The veggies were crisp. The brown sauce was tasty, not some sweet brown sauce found at Panda Express. The chow fun was awesome! Very flavorful! Noodles had a good crispy edge but still soft. I really think my rating should be about 4.5 but it's not an option. This Ahwatukee restaurant has been open about a month and I've gotten food here 3 times. I've had 3 different dishes and apps and all were very good. Well, except for one minor issue. I had the moo shu pork and the pancakes were hard and breaking up. However, the entree itself was excellent. There are only a few tables and a counter for sitting so I always took the food home. The food is prepared to order and is ready very quickly. Tried this new place for the first time Jan 2, 2016. Ordered over the phone and food was ready when we got there. The place was nice & clean. There were several people waiting for food & a few that were waiting to order. A good sign I thought. We got beef & broccoli with white rice, veggie Lo mein, and egg rolls. We liked all of our food. The only weird thing was I thought I smelled a fishy smell on my beef. As if it was cooked in a same pan with fish. Hmmmm. Not good if u don't really care for fish. Just came in the mail - an extensive menu with delivery - that's a plus! This location used to be really fresh salad place and some of those items are incorporated into this menu so I'm hoping its the same family and they just expanded their offerings. Decided to dine in for our first experience since delivery does diminish the quality a wee bit - can't be helped! Excellent crisp fresh vegetables in every dish. Shrimp was plump and not over done. Chicken in the General Tso and the Curry was tender and tasty. Hot & Sour soup had nice complexity and just enough spiciness to be enjoyable on a cold night. Came across this place that was open late on a Sunday night after Lights of the World by Rawhide. It was a nice surprise that the food prices was very reasonable and the flavors of what we ordered was very good. Walnut shrimp was a nice sized prawn. Crunchy outside texture. The portion of the black bean chicken was great and with very good flavor. The beef chow fun had enough flavor that only needed some chili oil (must ask for it as only shiracha is on the tables). Sweet and sour pork was very big portion as well. But not the best and not the worst. No chopsticks when asked (but I believe the Resturant is very new and was explained wasn't available just yet). We saw a man come in after we started to eat with a bag full of chopsticks. Eating area is little. Two tables seating four people and one table that sits two. Four bar stools are also available for seating. Overall I would recommend this Resturant in the simple fact that it stays open late (miss Chinatown in LA) which is rare for the Phoenix area and the food is pretty good w nice sized portions. read more
