While inspecting our 18 yo HVAC unit (by others) a cracked heat exchanger was discovered. We secured bids to replace the system and Greens won the job. TJ was very professional and explained all the options available to us; I agreed that the AC system was at the end of life as well and the inspection discovered some problems. They scheduled us for the following week and performed a complete replacement of the HVAC system over 1.5 days. This was performed in December when we needed the heat and Green's was diligent to provide us that capability before leaving at the end of the first day, they worked until 7:00 PM to give us an operating heater. Their price was reasonable and the quality of the work was great. They are providing us with two inspections over the next 12 months as a courtesy, which is really appreciated; they stand behind their work. read more

The warranty for the evaporator coil covers the part only. Recently, I observed--and captured both photo and video evidence on my dash cam--an individual operating what I believe to be a blue Chevrolet HHR bearing the "Greens" company insignia. The driver engaged in multiple acts of unsafe and unlawful operation of a motor vehicle, including: * Twice abruptly cutting off my vehicle without signaling or ensuring the lane was clear, conduct consistent with Idaho Code § 49-637 (Unsafe Lane Change). * Failing to maintain proper attention to the roadway, consistent with Idaho Code § 49-1401(3) (Inattentive Driving). * Operating the vehicle with an inoperative left brake light, a violation of Idaho Code § 49-903 (Required Lighting Equipment). * Proceeding through a yellow traffic signal in a manner that demonstrated disregard for prudent stopping distance and safety, consistent with Idaho Code § 49-802(3) (Obedience to Traffic-Control Devices) and Idaho Code § 49-1401(1) (Reckless Driving). The dash cam photo and video clearly document these violations. Such conduct, particularly while operating a vehicle clearly identified with a business, raises serious concerns about the driver's adherence to basic safety standards and, by extension, the company's commitment to professionalism and public welfare. While I fully expect the company to respond with a defensive or dismissive comment rather than addressing the unsafe behavior, such a response will only further confirm my concerns about their professionalism and accountability. The manner in which employees conduct themselves in public--especially in marked vehicles--serves as a direct reflection of the company's operational standards, ethical values, and respect for community safety. I urge the company to think carefully before making decisions that endanger others on the roadway. You are not the only ones on the road, and every driver--especially those operating a clearly marked company vehicle--has a responsibility to prioritize the safety and well-being of all road users. Consider yourselves fortunate that I am choosing not to forward this evidence to law enforcement at this time; however, the next person subjected to this kind of reckless behavior may not be so inclined. read more

Our AC was struggling to keep up to the normal temperature in our house during the hottest days of Summer so we had these guys come out to check our unit. They did a full diagnostic and said we needed a new run capacitor, stop leak and that we also needed 2-3 pounds of Freon. The price they quoted for the Freon alone was $275 for the first pound and $175 for each after. Our unit requires 410A refrigerant and according to other AC places, it costs $40 per pound. The total they quoted for the Freon, stop leak and run capacitor was over $1,100. We were able to get a run capacitor on Amazon for $27 and fixed it ourselves. We had a company our warranty recommended come out to check our Freon levels with the intention of filling the missing pounds and after doing the same diagnostic measures, found that we aren't missing any Freon AT ALL and that our unit is running perfectly fine. They also advised NEVER to use stop leak on our machine. Long story short, Greens clearly was trying to rip us off. Good thing we didn't fall for it. Customers beware. Oh and if you do choose to use Greens, be prepared for them to slap three giant stickers that don't come off easily all over YOUR heater and AC without your permission. read more

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with! We have had them out around 6 times to fix a BRAND NEW furnace! Every time they come out, tinker with the furnace .... it works for about 2 weeks and then stops. Last time they came out the guy went to Boise and picked up a part, came back and realized it was the wrong part and had to go back to Boise to get the correct one. He didn't come back and we waited a WEEK and we didn't hear from anyone. My husband called them and was told that, since the furnace was working, the part probably wasn't needed. My husband said, "It always works for a few weeks after you guys tinker around with it. Why don't you just put the part in?" The boss said, "The part is on my desk. If it stops working I will send someone out to put it in, even if I have to come out myself." Okay...fine. Well, guess what....tonight it stopped working again. It's the weekend. We call and was told "We will have to wait until Monday to get the part because the place we get it is closed." My husband told him the boss said it was on his desk. The response? "No, it was in my van and I used it on a different furnace!" WHAT????? The temp is dropping here about a degree every 30 minutes, so it should be nice and chilly by tomorrow morning since the temp outside is 29! Oh yeah, and once when we called in about the furnace the boss or service manager or someone told the tech that "Yeah, they always call in and nothing is ever wrong with their furnace." SURE we do....I mean we just LOVE having strangers in our home and we LOVE being cold while we wait on you! I would never recommend Greens Heating and Air to ANYONE for installation or repair...and their "24 hour emergency service" is just a bunch of hogwash! read more

Been doing business with Greens for more than a decade. Both Furnace and AC installed new by Greens. Recent failure of the Furnace to ignite on the weekend. Service request (to a 'recording device) Saturday and Sunday got no response, not even a call back, but I was 'referred' to 'normal work hours' 9-5 M-F to 'resolve' an 'appointment' schedule. If you have an 'emergency' or need 'service' after hours, Greens IS NOT your best choice. read more

Trying to avoid being ripped of by "the guys in the pink trucks," I contacted Green's for a second opinion and scheduled an appointment to have a heating unit inspected and service.. The Green's tech, Brett came to the house and performed a full inspection in half the time that the Right Now Heating and Air trainee tech took. Brett's diagnosis? Everything was fine and in good working order. Brett vacuumed out the unit, cleaned the heat sensor and tested for carbon monoxide. He was efficient and single minded in his diagnosis and duties. I am very please with Green's Heating and Air and will recommend them to all my friends and anyone who asks. read more

I had them replace the capacitor on my compressor and the unit worked for a month and died again. Although there are other parts that can malfunction, they were totally unconcerned that I had just given them $270.00 for 7 min worth of work and they said they would charge another $70 diagnistic fee. We purchased a Trane air conditioner from Greens in 2006 mainly on the advertised promise of a quality system that would last for years. We had problems with the installation from the beginning and after some duct work modification and then some leaks in the freon lines they installed, it worked mediocre. This year we went to use the ac and all the freon had leaked out at the Trane unit. The technician was friendly and knowledgable but the owners of greens said it was out of warranty and they would not do anything for us. After consulting a different company I learned how poorly built Trane products are. They spend a lot of money on advertising hype but in my opinion build a poor product that does not last. read more

I hired this company to replace and seal ducting under the house to the tune of $2468. When they said they were done I inspected the work and found they had not sealed on the duct work they said they would. When I called them on it they admitted they had not. It took them a month to come back and finish the job. When I called to complain they apologized but I really felt like it was no big deal to them. I had a very unhappy experience with these people and will never contact them again, nor recommend them. My AC compressor wouldn't kick in so I called them. I was informed that there would be a minimum diagnosis charge of $69. FIne, I understand. So the man comes out and I look over his shoulder as he troubleshoots the problem, which took about 10 minutes. Turns out it's a small wire about 18" long that runs along freon tube and operates the solenoid that turns on the compressor. It took him a maximum of 10 minutes to replace the wire, using some electrical tape and one wire nut. Then he presented the bill---$69 for the "diagnosis" and and additional $63 for the repair. Never at any point did he inform me that there would be an additional charge for the repair, much less $63! All told he was there a maximum of 30-40 minutes, including the time he sat in the truck making out the bill. I wrote all of this information to Green's a couple of days later and they never even acknowledged my complaint. read more

First of all, the tech that came out was professional, courteous and did a top job. But......absolute price gouging on the parts. All I needed was an igniter element. If I could have found one I could have had it installed in 20 minutes myself. Checked on line. OEM part was 42.15. plus a little shipping I'm sure. So now I know what I should be looking at as far as price, give or take. Called A1 heating. They had to get the part from a central warehouse. $98.00 plus tax. Are you kidding?! Double what the internet was charging? Well I couldn't wait as the house was dropping in temperature. So I called Green's. They charge 70.00 for service call, which is normal for this area. Tech came out and agreed it was what I already knew. Cost of the SAME part $201.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now granted , I probably should have asked about pricing, but after talking to a local service and getting a price quote, not in my wildest imagination did I think they would more than double the price of the part. And I was already stuck for the 70.00. SO CUSTOMER BEWARE. This is a price gouging company you really want to avoid. And agreed, the guys in the pink trucks are crooks, but they have nothing on these guys read more
