This place has by far the worst service I have ever encountered. I dropped my dress off on a Tuesday to get cleaned. I was told it would be ready no later than Friday and I needed it the following week since I was going out of town. I showed up on the Monday after the date they promised me and my dress was no where to be found. They lost it. I stayed there for approximately two hours while they figured it where it was since they outsource their cleaning. They finally found it, I left with my dress in time for my trip and I thought I was in the clear. Wrong. That was only the beginning. I didn't notice until I was packing my suitcase that they cut all the tags out of my dress. Since they cut the tags that were also attached to the seam, it caused the entire lining to unravel and become unwearable for the event I was traveling to. I ended up having to get the dress remade but it wasn't done in time and then had to purchase another one. A $9 (over priced) dry clean has now cost me hundreds of dollars and an endless amount of headaches. Save your money and your clothes and go elsewhere. read more

The couple who run this dry cleaning business are so friendly. When my husband walks in, they greet him with "Hello, friend!" Their prices are reasonable and the turn-around time is pretty good. I have not gotten anything altered there because I really don't like the curtain enclosure in the corner that they use as the changing room. I prefer a private room for that. But, we take all of our dry cleaning here on a regular basis. read more

I have been going here for about five years now and am very pleased with the quality of their cleaning and the service. There was an ownership change a couple of years ago; and I acknowledge having suffered through some less than wonderful service, but those things were entirely related to language barriers with the older former owners. Once I got to know them they treated me well. Since Seon Ro, the current owner, took over the place is brighter and more inviting looking and the service is courteous and thoughtful. The quality is better than ever and the pricing is fair for the work that they do. In five years of heavy starching, they have broken exactly one shirt button and cheerfully replaced it. I would probably look elsewhere for leathers or suedes and the range of tailoring is medium. With those two items understood, I give this Smart Cleaners location a solid recommendation. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Paid $40 for two sports coats to be dry cleaned and two dress pants to be hemmed. They were due last Wednesday. It's now Monday after and NOTHING is ready. Don't let the sweet lady behind the counter fool you - you'll get scammed out of your money and have nothing to show for it. Smart Cleaners is the only place I'll bring my dry cleaning since moving to Rogers Park. The product has always been top notch with a quick turnaround time. This past spring, I needed a work shirt cleaned at the last minute and they were able to have it done within a few hours and texted me that it was ready for pick up. Too bad I'm not able to leave zero stars because that is exactly the service this place provides!!! I brought in a really expensive shirt to get dry cleaned. I pick it up on Saturday right before they closed, to discover hole and burn marks on my shirt!!!? I was furious!!! This was not only an expensive piece of cleaning it was one of my favorites and on top of that it was new (only wore it once)!!!! I took it back and they agreed to try and fix the the marks and holes, however; that just made it worse! Then when I expressed how I still wasn't happy she said it looks fine and she would wear it!!! Are you kidding me??! I really came close to telling her "Then you wear it then!!!" After all that she proceeded to tell me how it was my fault and that I probably made these marks on my own clothes!! After going back and fourth for maybe an hour I finally left!!! Overall I'm not with the service they provided and would NOT I repeat would NOT recommend that anyone take anything to this place for service!!! I'm starting the process to take them to court to get my shirt replaced!!!! Please take my situation as a warning and stay away!!!!! Far away!!!! read more

WORST!! So rude and incompetent it is unbelievable. I left that place feeling taken advantage of and insulted by their behavior. I have now tried them twice. The first time they didn't do my alteration at all and the second time they didn't clean or pleat my dress but still charged me for it, and would not give me the dress until I paid, and then when I was annoyed they told me never to come back. (i did not swear at them or anything- they are just horrible at customer service.) And how greedy to take my money when the work wasn't completed! Over-promise and under deliver, big-time. She is difficult to communicate with and claimed not to have understood what needed to be done. It bothers me that they didn't do the work but still made me pay. In my opinion the owners are very lazy (don't get the work done or bother to call you to let you know they aren't planning on taking care of your garment) AND terrible at customer service, since the 2 things i have dropped off to be altered/ cleaned were neither altered OR cleaned. AND they weren't sorry. AND they still charged me. When I was annoyed that they didn't clean or press my dress, that instead they made excuses and still charged me, they said they didn't care whether i came back. As a customer, if the person you are doing business with doesn't care about your business at all, it is understandable that they don't bother to do the work, or even apologize. At the least I would expect them to say "We're sorry we didn't/couldn't do it, and we are not going to charge you since it didn't get done." They don't do what they say but will still charge you. I feel taken advantage of. Unfortunately, since they don't care about their customers, there is nothing I can do except try to save (you) the trouble. read more

I feel bad writing this review since the owners seem so nice BUT I took in 4 pants to get tailored which was $12 each to raise the bottom hem so nothing difficult, BUT the work done on them was very amateur to say the least. The lines are not straight, the connecting piece of where she started and where she ends is off and I will unfortunately not return to this location again. I was referred to this place because a friend had gotten dry cleaning done which he said was good so figured the tailoring should be decent, but that came to be seen as untrue. read more

We've gone here several times for dry cleaning and clothing repairs/alterations. I have always found the service here to be excellent, fast, professional, and fairly priced.
