We went out of the way to try this place. We are from the East and desperate for GOOD pizza. The crust was excellent. We had a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. Fortunately we asked for extra cheese but should have also ask for extra tomato sauce. But it did taste good. We also had a shite pie with extra ricotta. This was delicious. I love their pizza but will likely never sit down and eat at this restaurant again. We visited the restaurant while my dad and brother were in town like we usually do however this visit was different. We had a good experience until the end of the meal. As we were wrapping up we watched the bus boys prep a couple tables for the next group. They brushed the crumbs off on the floor and at one table they didn't change the tablecloth or wash it off between guests and at another table all they did was flip it over. They would also touch plates, napkins and glasses after brushing the crumbs off the tables with their hands. This is completely unacceptable and unsanitary. Service is terrible, the manager on duty May 11th was extremely rude, unhelpful not to mention when you walked in the place smelled like a sewer. We regularly visit the Chandelier location with ZERO issues, the last two times at the Gilbert location we've had issues primarily with poor service. Going forward we will never visit the Gilbert location again, the night ended on a positive, we drove to the Chandelier location had a great experience, $220.00 dinner the Gilbert location missed out on as well as further business. read more

Thanks for letting us sit with our party of 8 for 30 minutes with about 10 tables available only to tell us after 30 minutes that the ovens are getting cleaned and we would not be able to eat. His place is hit or miss and mostly miss with take out orders Ordered online for a small pizza and small salad wanted pickup time to be 6:15 pm. I know from experience they never have at the time you request. I went to Dick Sporting goods to get a gift card. I went to go to pick up the pizza at around 6:25. The take out person says I don't see it and walks away. She comes back and says the ticket was never printed so it will be around 10 minutes. Fine. It's freaking hot out and I ask for an ice water. Walks away again and hands to me the water and leaves. 25 minutes later I get my pizza. She comes over gives me the salad hands me the pizza. No sorry. Sorry for the inconvenience. Nothing. This is not the first time this has happened. Last time we ordered a large salad and it was a small. They insisted it was a large until the Manager came over and said it's a small. I paid 41.00 for this small pizza and salad. Not worth it. I don't want to complain. I don't want to be that person. But, c'mon a simple sorry would go a long way. I refuse to go back there. Second time in a row we ordered through door dash and they didn't meet our time expectations and blamed door dash. We placed an order to be ready at 7:20. The order was placed an hour prior and when my wife arrived at 7:20 they said our pizzas wouldn't be ready until 8:00. When we shoes them the door dash confirmation, they kept saying it's door dash's fault and to call them. (The hostess) This had happened to us twice now. Once for pick up and once for delivery. If Grimaldis can't handle online services then they shouldn't commit to it or at least take ownership and make the customer happy. Especially in the case of THIS place where it seems like nobody besides my waitress is doing their job or there are not enough people hired to do the job. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful, but we waited over an hour for our food. It takes 15 minutes tops to cook a paper thin pizza in a brick oven. Then one came out and waited another 30 minutes for the second because "something happened and it was messed up" an older lady informed me. Either let waitresses keep their tips or pay the same wage as kitchen staff so they don't depend on them, I don't want to pay the entire store staff because the owners are stingy money grubbers, especially when the restaurant doesn't even run in an orderly fashion, this place is chaos. If you can't hire enough people in the kitchen, or add another oven plus staff to run it, because you're trying keep up with takeout/delivery/online orders, then you probably shouldn't branch yourself out so much. I do enjoy the pizza and the caprese. However, the service here is terrible. The most unfortunate part is that their pizza is only good when eaten fresh. I have come here several times hoping that the service would get better. A really great disappointment that throughout the years it has gotten worse. Will likely not be dining here again. I'm a big tipper, but when I have to wait for an hour for a refill on water and lemonade that's insane. I believe in tipping well. We LOVE the pizza here! We first discovered this restaurant in the early days of the PLANdemic and came for take-out. We knew the food must be great because the take out line up was huge. As I waited for my order, the waitress and I chatted and she too saw through the nonsense in this world. We have only had take-out orders, but need to come dine in soon. I must have missed the slave-mask phase for the employees -- grateful, I missed that, because it's so degrading to do that to your staff. If people are afraid of a murder "virus" because they trust corrupted gooberment and teLIEvision, THEY should STAY HOME, or pick up their order. So ridiculous. Back to the food... AMAZING! Tried a couple of their salads also, and just as wonderful! The pizza sauce is DELICIOUS -- we always order it with extra sauce on the pizza. And, the crust isn't too think -- and, also one of the best crusts I've ever had! I normally don't eat the crust on pizza's, but I will eat their crust. I do agree with one of the other reviews though that it's on the expensive side. We would probably order more often if the pricing wasn't so high. Oh, and the wait time for pick up orders is "sometimes" an hour or two -- probably the first time I've ever had such a long wait time for pizza. read more

The food is the only thing that keeps making us come back. The pizza is absolutely delicious!! The service on the other hand is horrible! Our server was not attentive, waited 25 minutes for refills on drinks she blamed it on having too many tables, so if that's the case management needs to step in and help. Usually at restaurants managers will stop by to check on your table but I've never once seen a manager from Grimaldis do that. The worst part is-we asked @ the beginning if she could split the bill, when she brought the bill to us it wasn't split so she asked me to do it for her!!! Yes, it's the BEST PIZZA EVER!! There, I said it! :-) Simple menu and high quality ingredients seems to be their key to success. I'm not a big fan of thin crust pizza (in general), but Grimaldi's does this exceptionally well as the bottom of the pizza's have a nice, charcoal-esq flavor/crispness to it. I almost always get either a pepperoni or meatball topping, which will fill you up after only 2-3 slices. Wait times are usually less than 5 mins for a table for 2, but can be a bit longer for larger parties. And yes, they do have a large dining room/area in the back for larger parties. read more

I actually really love Grimaldis but I'm giving it only four stars because we got horrible service on this occasion. The waitress didn't seem to want to be there and she wouldn't come back to our table for anything. They only give you these tiny sides of peppers, parmesan, and oil since Covid:( My husband loves to cover his pizza in hot pepper flakes but they bring you like this little pinch full. We kept wanting to ask for more sides but she just wouldn't make eye contact with us. We had to ration our soda because she never came to offer refills. There were literally only three other tables there so being busy was no excuse. However, as usual the pizza was so good! I love the meatball pizza and the sauce and cheese are always amazing! We got the 16" thin crust and mowed the whole thing between two of us... we left stuffed!! It's truly sad to see how a great pizzeria has gone downhill at 90 miles an hour due to poor management. I don't know why I have never checked in to Grimaldi's before, I've probably been here at least 100 times. We love their pizza! Pizza and a salad, perfect meal. They have a number of great salads plus a seasonal salad. If you've eaten here as many times as we have you tend to get tired of the regular menu salad so the seasonal is perfect. The pizza is very well done and has a crispy crust, delicious. If you sign up with them you get a free pizza for your birthday, not the 12" but the 16". There is a pizza maker that only works there part time but he makes the best pizza. The service is always excellent and the ambience is very New York. There is so much more to say, all great, but I'll have to save it for my next check in. read more
