A little poke place hidden in downtown Monrovia. Came by after work to pick up some raw fish. The prices here is a lot cheaper compare to other poke places. 3 scoops for about 11 bucks after tax and they don't cheap out on the portions. Ordered on Grubhub for pickup, but when I got to the store, door was locked with a handwritten closed for the moment sign. I call the place and someone comes out and tells me that my order was cancelled since they didn't have one of the ingredients. This is odd, since I had no cancellation notice at all. So I ask if they can just make my order without the ingredient that they don't have. The man tells me no, because they just staring a 40 minute break, even though the store doesn't have any mid-day closing break. Finally I call GrubHub and they confirm that the order was in fact not cancelled, and they refund my credit card. Oke Poke is just messy with their GrubHub orders and customer service. They need to be trained to use GrubHub properly, cancelling orders if they need to, or shutting down their system if they are about to go on some sort of break. read more

Very good poke. The girl who helped me was very helpful with any questions I had. She even got me sushi rice instead of regular white rice which is great. The sushi rice doesn't have too much vinegar in it but just enough. If you don't like too much heat in your poke be careful on some of the sauces you use. Make sure you try them before you add it to your bowl. read more

I started coming here 6 months ago because of the value for a 5 scoop poke bowl, hearty servings and the fact that avocado wasn't extra. I don't know if it's the times/days I'm coming, but lately the staff seems new, poorly trained and/or distracted. Multiple times there were key ingredients missing and they are so stingy with the portions. It makes me wonder if the management is different? When I was served the employees touched their masks while preparing grub hub orders and one came out from the back with their mask completely down. They apologized and wore it correctly. My most recent trip, the guy working was by himself and super stressed out because of the line forming. I normally don't post negative reviews but literally the past 5 visits have been poor and it's frustrating. I Hope they can get back to the better service and caution. read more

Like this spot a lot, the prices aren't terrible, the service is solid and they give you a lot. Alyssa is very helpful and accommodating. She is so darn sweet and absolutely gorgeous to the point it's painful, shes absolutely stunning, a very pretty girl with nice full lips!! Nonetheless, they have a freestyle machine which is a HUGE PLUS!!!! I recommend the oke sauce mixed with the spicy mayo or crunchy garlic sauce. Some good poke, decently priced and for a good amount of food and they don't charge extra for avocado! Always a plus! They have two different types of the crab salad which is nice to have but even more unique is the two different types of masago! That was a first. I've been meaning to write this since my visit on 4/27, but I'm finally getting to it. My family and I frequented Oke Poke since it opened -- we absolutely loved this place, the food & service was always amazing...then they changed owners. I had not visited Oke Poke for a while, and my family decided we wanted poke for dinner so they sent me to go pick it up. In the beginning of me ordering I told the gentleman helping me that I was going to be ordering 4 bowls and 1 kids bowl. Apparently he was new so a man, who said his name is Raymond, began helping to speed up the process as they were getting close to closing time. After I'm done getting the 4 bowls completed, I asked again for the kids bowl, and Raymond said "we already put everything away, sorry we can't do that one." I had already asked for the bowl and it is not my fault that they started to put things away, besides all the bowl needed was rice and fish (which still wasn't put away -- only the toppings.) I said to him, "I already asked for the bowl, though." He says again that there's nothing he can do for me. I asked him, "so I'm supposed to go somewhere else now to get food to feed my niece?" All he could say was sorry. I almost left, but considering my family wanted poke, I felt bad to not bring them what they asked for. I asked Raymond if he could provide a discount for the inconvenience, he said he couldn't but he could offer more protein on one of the bowls -- how can you provide more protein for a bowl already complete but not put ONLY rice and protein in a bowl??? I asked to speak to the manager and he stated he was the manager and that they are under new management. CLEARLY!!!! The people who ran this place before were so, so amazing and now, it has obviously gone downhill. Making a customer go somewhere else to complete getting dinner for their family is the furthest thing from customer service I have ever heard of. Yeah, I don't know. I'll be up front and honest: I'm not really an ~authentic~ poke lover. I add a bunch of stuff on top of my poke and the real taste of the fish is probably drowned out by all the spicy mayo and eel sauce I like to drench my food in. So, if you are not like me, and prefer a more authentic feel to your poke akin to what you'd expect in Hawaii then please disregard my review of this fine establishment. I've eaten here a handful of times and the service is really good, everyone has seemed friendly. If that's important to you (which it is to me) that's a plus. The fish has always tasted okay, but the size of the bowls is definitely smaller than what I'm used to seeing at similar places. Everything just tasted okay to me. Not the best poke I've ever had, but not bad either. Also, they don't have eel sauce so it's totally possible I'd like it way better if I had eel sauce which I realize sounds stupid but I literally only knocked them one star so don't @ me. The quality of the fish here is just terrible. I attempted to eat a piece of the salmon but as a super fishy taste permeated my mouth upon contact, I could not bring myself to take a single bite. I ordered takeout for a regular create your own bowl with salmon and tuna. The moment I got home and opened my poke bowl, I was immediately disappointed. This was my first time ordering from Oke Poke and I read in the reviews that you guys are known for big quantities of fish in the poke bowl for decent quality fish. My bowl literally had what looks like 3 tablespoons of fish LOL. like ?????????? huh?????? I paid $10.50 for this???? The bowl was literally just rice. AND the fish itself is terribly fishy which means it's not fresh at all. Super dull colored and just smells bad. I don't know if the quality has suffered because of COVID but if this is the quality of the fish you guys have right now, you're going to make people sick. read more

They are generous with the portions here and everything taste fresh. First time I had cream cheese with my poke and it was like I was having a Philly roll in a bowl. I tried this Poke shop with a coworker this afternoon for a lunch meeting. I didn't expect much at first because I've been to plenty shops that charged too much for a small bowl. Upon ordering, I was surprised at their menu because they offered 3 scoops and 5 scoops. Most shops I've dined in only offered 2 scoops like Ahi Poke and charge $12. I noticed they had different toppings available as well, and first scoop for any toppings are included.. yes even the avocado. I was really impressed that it had a Hawaiian feel to it and even had Kona Coffee at their shop. Overall, the meal was great. If there's something I could suggest.. it would be adding a bigger scoop of crab salad as it tasted a bit dry and stuck together. Food is always great, but the staff never washes their hands. They wear the same gloves to do your checkout then just toss them and grab a new pair without washing or they'll put a loose pair on top of another pair and only swap the top pair between customers (while handling money). Management needs to retrain on proper hand washing procedures, especially handing raw foods. read more

Though I ADORE this place; I came in tonight to grab a quick bowl for takeout while my kids food was being prepared a few doors down. As usual the service was lovely BUT when it came to payment, the girl told me it was cash only because the system had been down all day. I certainly understand tech issues, but I should have been told when she started my order. I didn't have time to get cash and it breaks my heart that all that I ordered went to waste! There were 2 simple options, give me the information at the start of my order or COMP the order because of failed communication and put it on my account! This USED to be my favorite poke place and I will not be going anymore. I can see they have a lot of new staff so I don't know who to blame but I have been going for many years. The portions they used to give used to fill up the entire bowl and it used to be hard for me to mix which is a good thing. Now these employees don't even fill the whole scoop AND THE SCOOPER IS EXTREMELY SMALL. They always had the same scooper but the employees were not doing justice today. Can I please have some salmon with my rice please, I THINK this is a poke place IM NOT EVEN SURE ANYMORE.
