Wow! A great diner experience, and an incredible server in Jennifer E. We were quickly seated on a Sunday morning, and enjoyed an omelette and a French toast. The food was delivered fresh, and it was well prepared. Our drinks were refilled frequently by our server Jennifer, and she just had the most incredible demeanor of happiness combined with being respectful, yet casual. I wish I could describe it better, but she's just a superstar. Overall, a wonderful restaurant, reasonable pricing at about $20 per person all in, and great service. It was finally my turn to go. I had heard from neighbors, relatives, facebook pages and the like about Grumpys. I mean the place is soooo close to my house. Why didn't I go sooner? It's pretty brand new and in a new happening area of Nassau County. Wildlight. Right beside the Publix supermarket. We were rushing home from Daytona and were concerned that we wouldn't make it on time before they closed at 2 PM. We made it and with plenty of time to spare. Seated immediately, we looked at the huge selection of both breakfast and all day items. It was really hard to decide but I went with the fried green tomato eggs Benedict. Wow! Did not disappoint! Fried green tomatoes can be risky because you never know what you might get. These were perfect and the hollandaise sauce was an excellent compliment. Instead of the regular sides you can get any other sides or in my case the chicken tortilla soup! Holy chicken tortilla that was a bomb of flavor and I wished I would have opted for a larger portion but after having my eggs and sneaking off some fries from my wife's plate dipped in spicy hollandaise sauce from her fantastic OP burger. I've been here several times and the food never disappoints. I almost always get their special of the week and I've never been disappointed. Even though the place is usually crowded, the service has been good and the server friendly and responsive. It has a diner-like atmosphere to it. Know that Grumpys is packed on the weekends so be prepared for a wait. And it's packed because the food is excellent and the portions are huge. This is one of my favorite brunch spots. We've been here a couple times and even though there is often a line of people waiting we never wait more than 15 or 20 minutes. The chicken tenders are huge! It looks like a breast filleted into three pieces. The tuna fish sandwich on rye is absolutely beautiful, sitting on homemade bread not just regular sandwich slices. The country breakfast sounds like a lot of food but compared to the other plates, it looks more like a kids meal. The French toast was good, also homemade bread. This is not a place for a long, leisurely meal- they have a lot of people to feed. But you will get good service and leave full. read more

We stopped here on the way back from Florida. What a great little place! Good people, friendly staff. Our food was delicious and came out in a reasonable amount of time. We all enjoyed our food. The most I was happy about was the changing tables in the men's bathroom! We needed to change my son's diaper and my husband went in there and it was so clean and well stocked! It was super packed at this new restaurant in Yulee but as a part of 2, we were only waiting for about 20 minutes. The flavored coffee of the day was caramel nut and it was DELICIOUS!!! Wish I could get the ground to make at home. It's a very family oriented feeling and even with a screaming baby sitting a few tables down, I felt at home! I got the #1 breakfast and it was excellent. The scrambled eggs were perfectly "soft cooked" and tasty. It came with two very good/fluffy pancakes but the winner was the complementary cinnamon roll because we had two wait for our pancake orders! We came on a Friday morning and waited around 30 minutes for a table.(2 people) This is not bad considering it's the Grand Opening week. They have a coffee and water station outside along with a small play area. We ordered the freshly squeezed OJ. It was so fresh it tasted like I was eating an Orange! The cinnamon roll was soft, hot, and covered in icing. The Crab Cake Benedict was amazing and filled with crabmeat. The Home Fries were seasoned and cooked to perfection! Let me start by saying that I really like Grumpy's and I do not think this location is indicative of all the great meals I have had at the Orange Park, FL location. We stopped in today for a late breakfast and were seated on the porch immediately. However, we were then greeted with server by committee which is a little frustrating. I ordered the Grumpy's big breakfast (2 eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns and pancakes) and my wife ordered the seafood omelette with home fries and sourdough toast (hollandaise on the side). On my order, I got home fries instead of hash browns. I would have told someone but I could not find my server so I just ate them. I also to get up and find my own condiments. Our glasses were not filled promptly most of the time but they did offer a to go cup as needed. While I was waiting to leave, a member of the kitche staff shoved past our table to use a side exit and in the process shoved and moved chairs for our table while I was seated there. Still really like Grumpy's but I am glad that I will be able to go to the Orange Park location as opposed to this one. read more

First time visiting Grumpy's. We arrived around 9:30 on a Monday hoping to miss the rush and we did. Seated by a friendly girl (Kara I think I heard someone call her?) as soon as we walked in the door. I had the fried green tomato benedict with hash browns and my daughter had a huge waffle with blueberries, strawberries and whipped cream as well as hash browns. Everything was delicious and I could only eat half of mine. When our server (Brenda) tried to hand me the check I said "My daughter is treating me to a birthday breakfast." She wished me a happy birthday and a few minutes later some of the staff came out with a big Danish covered in icing with a candle in it and sang happy birthday to me. read more
