Oh MY WORLD!!!! This has got to be the BEST burger place in town! I went for the first time for lunch today and LOVED the whole experience! From the ordering and the dining, you can't go wrong here. Both my boys (2 and 5 year olds) loved the chicken tenders with fries from the kids menu. You also get a burger candy with it. My oldest LOVED the candy. I loved the fried green beans with my burger. First let me say that I am really pumped that we have a Habit Burger in Santa Maria and, usually it's awesome! Not today though. I actually downloaded the app a couple of weeks ago and have been excited to use it's features (particularly mobile ordering). So, since I donwloaded the app, Habit sent me a coupon for a free burger. Cool, right? Well, I called in my order, since mobile ordering isn't available in SM yet. Anyway, called it in at 12:18 and they said 10 mins (also cool). So I arrive at the restaurant about six minutes later. No place to pick up phone in orders... Nope, wait in line! 8 more minutes in line. Showed the app to the cashier for my free burger only to be told that it was a "corporate offer" and that they are a "locally owned store"... I don't care, it's a Habit, after all, right? Okay, so no biggie on the free burger but I'm bummed because the manager says that they will not be participating in the mobile ordering on the app. BUMMER! So, a good 20 minutes after I called in my order and I see orders flying off the counter at lightning speed (good on ya Habit, way to rock the lunch hour). So 25 minutes go by... now I'm seeing orders go out that was ordered by ppl in line while I was waiting to pay for my phone in order. So naturally, I'm thinking that, surely, mine is coming up soon. After another five minutes, a full half hour past when I called in my order, I go up and ask if mine has been lost in the shuffle perhaps. Manager grabs a bag from the counter. A lonely bag sitting all by itself for who knows HOW long... Yep, it was my order! It WAS done in 10 minutes but it SAT there for at least 20. I asked him if it was even still hot, he said yes, I felt the napkin that they cover the fries with and, indeed, it was warm so I took it. When I got to my car it was clear to me that, in fact, the fries were barely warm, let alone hot. The normally crunchy and delicious o-rings were soggy and warm (not hot). The burger was flat out cold! I mean like room temperature! Oh I ate it, don't get me wrong. The flava was there but it paled in comparison to the product that I'm used to from this franchise. So, Habit Burger SM, if you're reading this, get with the program! If you're going to hang the Habit logo on the wall and wrap your burgers in it then you should be a part of the app, mobile ordering, loyalty club (if they have one) and you should certainly develop a plan for expediting phone in orders. At least have a plan for what to do when one of your orders has been sitting on the counter looking at the person that ordered it while it goes from fresh, hot, and delicious to soggy, tepid, and average. I'll be back for sure but color me disappointed in the lack of mobile ordering, not honoring a Habit coupon, and for letting my order to languish on the counter and taste more like a drive through giant than The Habit! This is the Best restaurant ever!!! I had a Veggie burger and it tasted so good!!! The fries were very tasty and very little salt...they were perfect. It was packed but very fast.the restaurant was very clean as well as the bathrooms. They are gender friendly bathrooms. Everyone except for me and another had burgers and they liked theirs as well. This is such a hidden gem of burger chains in Cali! Great service, tasty food, cheap and amazing shakes, what more could you want? I've gone twice so far while im staying in Lompoc and I've had the normal burger, Oreo shake, fries and the chicken cesear salad. The shakes are soooooooo good, I would just go for them. The burgers are juicy and have good toppings. The salad was good and had lemony ceasar dressing. The fries were just ok so I decided not to order them my second time there. Overall great food, good service and under $10 a meal! read more

I love the Habit, but I had a bad experience here and it really made me think twice about the customer service. So one Monday night I came into the store at 9:05pm hoping to buy some food. When I came in there was a man in uniform that just started ordering some food. When he was done he walked away and then I was next in line. The woman at the register informed me that they had just closed the kitchen. So I proceeded to head back to my car. I saw two more men in uniform get out of their vehicle and head to the habit. I decided to watch and see if they would get serviced since the woman had just told us they had closed. To my amazement, she took their order RIGHT after telling us they were closed. It was very very unfair and it made me feel discriminated against. Should I have to wear an official uniform in order to receive service too? I think this was a very unfair circumstance that made me feel very badly. I had just come back from work out of town and was very hungry and was denied service and the two men after me were easily attended. Online it also said that the closing hours are 10pm (as it says on Yelp and on the web) for that day so I hoped I would be able to get a quick meal. This was just super unfair and it reflects on who their "valued" customers are (they were white men). My friend talked to the manager but she didn't really seem to care and just wanted to push it aside like it wasn't a big deal. Just wanted to share this experience with you guys and hope it's helpful. -you can see on the picture I attached that it closes at 10pm on Mondays. Perfectly charred burger, and does not have that overly charred taste that ruins a burger. The menu price is burger only, you pay additional for cheese or bacon which is fair. We got the SB double and the regular double charburger, and both were delicious. The sweet potato fries and onion rings go perfect with the burgers and they are nicely cooked. BEWARE. We've given The Habit in Lompoc quite a few chances, but this was the last straw. We found what appears to be something metal in one of our salads, looks like an open staple. We called the manager (daisy) immediately and she had no remorse, or sympathy, to be honest, she didn't even sound surprised. A couple months ago we ordered a salad with NO blue cheese, since I am allergic, and they still gave me blue cheese, it was underneath the toppings so I didn't see it until I bit into it and chewed it. Good burger joint, very similar to 5Guys less the peanuts. Little on the high side, but this is California; everything's high here haha, plus now CA wants to secede--bye bye! The service is excellent but the tables were dirty and it wasn't that busy when we arrived just before 7, then very busy for about forty minutes then back to a calm and hardy any business. Tasty deliciousness and great customer service! I've ordered a few things from here and the burgers and chicken sandwich are fresh. Shakes are thick and rich. The serve your own drinks and condiment bar really allow me to customize my order how I want (hello, jalapeños!). The customer service here is really what gives this location a greater rating. Brianna greeted me like I was the only one in the packed place and was patient taking my complex order (part of it was to go). Thanks, Brianna! You might just be the nicest cashier I've had the pleasure of encountering. The Habit deserves a solid 4.5 rating. The only suggestion I can make is to have napkins on the tables. I found myself devouring my burger and the handful of napkins I grabbed wasn't enough to contain messy fingers. read more

This is my first Habit experience. It was pretty good! I wish the chocolate shake was made from chocolate ice cream, not Hershey's syrup! My burger was perfection! The sweet potato fries were a tad undercooked. The regular fries were nothing to get excited about. Let's add some flavor please! The onion rings were eh. We came about two weeks after they opened. It's a nice new location and even with the wait it went by fast. But all in all, it's just a burger. I don't know why but I was expecting them to have a "thing" something that sets them apart from other burger places. I didn't find that at The Habit. I just had to update my review because of the customer service. The staff is SO amazing. We came in today around 8:44pm and both of the supervisors on duty (both wearing polos so I assume they're supervisors?) checked on us while we were eating. I'm not sure what the female supervisor's name is, but she is AMAZING!! Every time I've seen her, she is always working hard, finding something to do, checking and making sure everything is stocked and clean, making sure orders are coming out correctly. My first time ever to The Habit. Everybody always said they're great, and they are. The newly-opened Habit on Betteravia in Santa Maria is inviting, clean, and friendly. The staff are welcoming and helpful. There are booths and high tables. There is a wide range of condiments available and extras such as peppers and sauces. I had the charburger with cheese. It was cooked to order, and I was given a beeper to tell me when it was ready. The burger was loaded: mustard and mayo and grilled onions and pickles and shredded lettuce. Ketchup is available from a long-armed dispenser. Great-tasting burger. Napkins, straws, and lids are available at the condiment table. One thing though: the Coke I got from the dispenser had an off taste (from the water, I suppose). I couldn't drink it. I recommend that you taste a sip before you fill your big cup, and if it's not good, try another beverage; there are lots of good choices available besides the usual soft drinks. My total cost for one charburger with cheese and one soda: $6.63. read more

I moved to Lompoc in February of 2015 from Santa Clarita, CA (Magic Mountain) and Soo happy they have added a Habit in town. It is hard finding great food in Lompoc. I don't know if it is the people that work in most of these places or what, but The Habit is a great addition. I still prefer In-N-Out burger style burgers for a similar comparison but this place beats all the other in Lompoc for a Burger. I have had both a Double Charburger and their Chicken Club. Although Santa Clarita's multiple Habit locations have great customer service and everything comes out great. This location just opened and everything is pretty good but maybe just a little under 5 stars. Many people swear by Tom's or Eddies in town but I still find their burgers just same ol, same ol. Eddie's is much better then Tom's. Applebee's aren't great either but better then most of the fast food places in town. The Habit has a burger that you know is from The Habit and that is what you want in a burger. A burger that has that signature taste. The number one problem with this Habit is its location. There is no back exit to come around and exit onto Central Ave, so your stuck with all the traffic, regardless if your turning south or north, its a pain. When coming south from work the traffic is now more congested on those turning right onto central from that driveway entrance. Obviously this isn't a Habit issue, but more a city, traffic issue. read more

Went in to get a sirloin steak sandwich and I ordered a teriyaki char burger and then they proceed to refund my card apparently they ran out of steak and didn't tell me and then the manager I suppose the person was the manager told me oh yeah I told you that we were out of steak and I said no you didn't if you would've told me I would've ordered something else for my wife don't waste your time at this place and or your money whatever happened to the customer being right not at this one you're not you're wrong read more
