It pains me to drop a star but here it goes. The Habit has IMHO the best char-broiled burger in town - hands down - and for $3.50 - whoa ! So why spoil it with all the noise ( I've measured 80 to 85 dB with 95 peaks routinely) -- there is no apparent effort to dampen the ambient sound at all, and the noise ( I won't call it music ) blasting from the loudspeakers is, as another reviewer phrased it, atrocious. Seems I experience an aural assault everywhere I go these days. We tried this spot a while ago while we were on travel and I was not impressed. The burgers were ok and I could take it or leave it. Fast forward to my most recent trip to Lompoc. My crew decided to go to this location. I wanted to try something new to see if I can show this joint some love. I ended up ordering the turkey burger with a side of sweet potato fries. That turkey burger may have been the best I ever had. The meat was well seasoned and the burger as s whole with the lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and mayo was a 5 on the flavor scale. I also used ranch as a dipping sauce for my fries. Definitely a new go to spot for me when I'm in Lompoc. But wait, there's more. I came back on a different day and ordered the grilled chicken sandwich on sour dough bread. Shut the front door! That mojo was on and poppin. The way they grill the bread gives the sandwich a awesome crunch. Again, the sandwich as a whole was over the top delicious. One of my all time favorite places to eat lunch or dinner! Fresh, delicious and staff is always awesome. I love getting the grilled chicken sandwich and add a pineapple. The sweet potatoe fries, onion rings, and tempura green beans are delicious! Just about everything on the menu is really good. I also like to get a chocolate shake after I've eaten. The grilled chicken salad is also really good. Sometimes ill get a burger, salad and sweet potatoe fries and my total is about $18. Hungry after our visit to the local California Historic Mission we opted for lunch at this Habit location. We have several in our hometown and love to eat at them. You can get a good salad or burger, sit at one of their convenient tables or take it with you. Prices are consistent with other fast foods but the quality of the food is better. read more

The Habit has been one of my families go to spots since we moved to Lompoc. The service is always excellent and the food is always amazing. I'm currently sitting in the restaurant after I made a mistake ordering through DoorDash forget i forgot to remove onions from my husband burger, he's deathly allergic. The Habit in Lompoc is ok. The food tasted good. I think they got my order wrong though. I ordered a Santa Barbara Style Burger but got a sandwich instead. They don't use fresh hamburger which is sad. So it is not "Char" in my opinion. The hamburger patty is your typical frozen patty. Which tastes bland. The menu is way over priced for what they offer also. If you are hungry, this is an ok lunch. If you would like a hamburger, I would look somewhere else. Not the best burger joint by any means.
