I've been to Hai Di Lao at Santa Anita several times now, and it continues to be one of my favorite dining experiences. The ingredients are always incredibly fresh, from the meats to the vegetables, and you can really taste the quality. Hot pot is definitely a meal you should set aside time for, but that's part of the fun! The restaurant has such a lively, energetic atmosphere that you honestly lose track of time while enjoying your meal. This was actually the first visit where something went a little wrong, they accidentally forgot to bring one of our items, and before we realized it, we were being rushed with the check. But as soon as we mentioned it, the staff immediately apologized, corrected the mistake, and went above and beyond to make it right. Everyone was so kind and genuinely apologetic that it completely turned the situation around. No restaurant is perfect 100% of the time, and what really matters is how they handle the rare mistake. Hai Di Lao proved once again why it deserves five stars. Amazing food, fresh ingredients, wonderful service, and a fun dining experience every single time. I'll absolutely keep coming back! Highly recommend this spot for everyone as well!

I really could eat this for the rest of my life and be okay. They still have great quality meat and vegetables. I don't like the seafood much cause it's kinda flavorless frozen seafood, and aside from the shrimp, every time I order some form of seafood I regret it. Kitty is a fantastic server, very attentive and helpful, and she was working her tail off yesterday. The service is generally good but the kitchen has been rough the last couple of times. We had missing items this last time, and we legitimately waited almost 50 minutes for the majority of our dishes the time before that. This was around 3:30pm on a weekday so maybe only one person was working or something.

Fun night at Santa Anita mall. Great hot pot and fun spin wheel. Good noodles and variety of food.

Great service for Father's Day and the food was good too. They had Father's Day decore and a fruit tray to make the dads feel special. Glad we came!

First timers here. We were supposed to try their lunch all you can eat but when we arrived we were told that we only had like 30 mins to order, eat and pay. We were a party of 6 with 3 adults and 3 kids. And my 5 year old and 10 year old was already considered adult price. My kids don't really eat hot pot but I wanted them to try it but not for adult price. We ended up getting the one meat lunch special since we were short on time for the ayce. Then when our server was explaining everything to us, all I hear is it's extra for everything even the sauce for each person. It's kinda ridiculous. The decor was really nice. We gave it a chance but the food was eh. The broth was really plain compare to other hot pot places. And the meat was not enough. Although the kids did enjoyed the noodles. Other than that it was mid. I would rather go to Broth in Cerritos.

Came here for the weekday lunch special which is a soda, meat, soup, and veggie. It was my first visit to any hai di Lao and it was a fantastic experience. No lines to get in and got seated right away. The service was super attentive and friendly. We also got the BOGO milk teas and they were really good, the less sweet option was perfect. Single serve portion was perfect. Food was delicious. I felt full but didn't have any leftovers. We added the sauce bar which is a few dollars more per person and has a few extras and also opens up a small dessert bar with jelly and almond tofu that I thought was worth. Dessert was really good too. We were celebrating a birthday and they had a fun glowing sign for photos and sang the song! They also gave a cute goodie bag and cake for the birthday person which was REALLY unexpected but amazing! The manager was also very friendly and also helped our table too. Would definitely come again!

Don't go to this restaurant, ad scam promotion on internet. It is ad scam. For $24.99, you can get 1 choice of meat from 5 to choose. FOR $19.99, You get 1 choice of meat from 3 kind of meats to choose. So you get only one plate of meat about10 thin slices, chicken or beef or pork belly, and a small bowl of vegetable, and one can of coke or sprite, if you take some soy sauce or sesame paste from the sauce bar, they charge $3.99 per person on your table. I think it's a scam, for I and my family have been charged $3.99 per person. Otherwise, you don't even have soy sauce if you don't pay $3.99

The food is so yummy. The service was very good. I wanted a free item so I left a review. The ambiance is nice.

I've never had hot pot but want to try. Is this something I can have delivered or even picked up? Or is it a dine-in only experience? This is not my culture & people are often rude when you try to explore other cultures. I'd like to try AND be safe.

It was my first time here and I opted for all kitchen cooked. We ordered grilled LA galbi and grilled beef bulgogi which were each served on a hot cast iron. They were both really really flavorful and super tender. We also tried the omelette rice and their version of bibimbap. The omelette rice was served with a fried rice inside and topped with a red sauce. It was good but huge for 2 people. The bibimbap was not what I am accustomed to. Instead of a hot stone pot in which the rice cooks and crisps, it was more like a vegetable salad with meat and a fried egg. The rice is served on the side. Although it's not what I prefer it was still tasty and super fresh. This is a great summer version. The price was reasonable for what we ate. Service was very friendly. I would definitely return.

Soonheene actually started in Seoul's famous Gwangjang Market where they were known for their pancakes, so I was excited to check it out. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Esther (the owner) and her daughter. They both went out of their way to explain the menu and answer all my questions with genuine smiles. That kind of hospitality really sets the tone for a meal. We ordered the Pork Mungbean Pancake, Rose Tteokbokki (creamy rice cakes with fish cake and sausage), Bibim-Naengmyeon (spicy cold buckwheat noodles), and a whole fried chicken split into two flavors. Everything we ordered was delicious and tasty. For half the chicken, I went with the original but added green onion and their special oriental sauce drizzle. The other half was spicy soy garlic. I'll admit, I liked the original better. I second-guessed myself when the owner's daughter mentioned soy garlic was their number one most popular flavor followed by honey butter, but I thought I would be different and try the spicy version. The spice kind of drowned out that garlicky soy flavor, so lesson learned. Next time I am going straight for the soy garlic and honey butter combo. For drinks, we tried the Korean coffee and cold yuzu drink, both refreshing and a nice complement to the food. By the end of the meal, everything was so good that I even found myself asking about catering their chicken for future events. The vibe inside is really comfortable with soft K-pop playing in the background. It is just enough for atmosphere but not too loud, so you can talk easily. The only tricky part is parking since it is in a busy plaza with a lot of other restaurants, but at least it is free. Overall, this was one of the most unique dining experiences we have had recently, made extra special by Esther and her daughter's hospitality. I love supporting family-owned spots like this, and I will definitely be back to try that famous soy garlic and honey butter chicken next time.

There used to be several locations across Southern California, and I'm glad the Arcadia location is still here. Every visit brings back memories. I come for the Taiwanese classics that are becoming harder to find. The popcorn chicken is still one of my favorites--crispy, fragrant, and seasoned the way Taiwanese street vendors do it. The Taiwanese meatball soup is comforting, and the Taiwanese sausage always reminds me of night markets back home. What I appreciate most is that SinBala doesn't just serve street food. It brings those familiar flavors into a warm, home-style setting. It's nostalgic without trying too hard. Before you leave, save room for dessert. Their shaved ice is a must. I always recommend the brown sugar shaved ice topped with five mochi or boba. It's refreshing, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to a meal. Taiwanese food is often overshadowed by other regional Chinese cuisines, but places like SinBala remind me how unique it really is. Simple, comforting, and full of character. There is a physical Drink menu (sake, beer, etc.) and the food menu can be viewed by scanning a QR code with your phone. The waitress made suggestions about which dishes she personally liked & we ordered whatever she suggested, along with some of the things we thought looked good. *7/10 Toro w/ seaweed *8/10 Moriwase (chef's selection of sashimi) 2 each of 5 different sashimi. There was one cut I did not particularly care for. *7/10 chicken wings *10/10 Beef tongue-- Tender, but firm. Delicious, a must try! *10/10 Ankimo-- creamy and paired well with the ponzu and fresh seaweed *10/10 Fried Seabass-- they served the entire fish, which is rare. *10/10 Sous-vide Duck breast-- must try! *10/10 Nikomi stew--simple, but delicious! *10/10 Matcha Oolong Panna Cotta-- subtly sweet with a smooth texture. It was so good, that we ordered two! The only reason that I only gave it a four out of five stars is because the service was slow. All of our dishes, came out in time, but no drink refills were given and the server never came back to collect our check for payment. So we had to walk it up to them ourselves. We hadn't been here for a while so decided to try it out again with their Star Student promotion…read more(which is a really nice offer!). We hadn't come back because our first visit felt very rushed and they didnt have ice & other items that day. This visit luckily was better with items being replenished pretty quickly or on request. Broths: We liked the Tonkatasu and Sukiyaki. I tried the the house, but it didn't have much flavor and I had to add some chili to it for more flavors. I drank more of the tonkatsu broth as a soup since it was so good. A little disappointed they dont offer a spicier soup base for spicy lovers. Meats: We liked the Short plate and chuck eye the best but all of them were good to eat. No issues on our meat orders, you just have the 5 or 6 options for regular menu. Our server was attentive and checked in for refilling our meats pretty timely. We were given last call about 30 minutes before time was supposed to be up. For the price, we felt there are many other places that offer more in the self service area with seafood options and other foods or drinks included. If you're just there for basic hot pot, then this will satisfy you if you don't care for those other items and it would be a 4*. For us, we enjoy the other things we can get at other places for a comparable price and felt there was more to be desired.
