We've been waiting to try Haii Keii since its opening was announced and finally got the chance! We were lucky to get street parking and walked over. Very dark and cool vibe - there is a dress code so visit their website to be prepared. We made a reservation since we weren't sure if it got busy but we were having a relatively early dinner and it wasn't. Everyone was super nice and attentive. The drink menu is very cool, lots of interesting concepts. I tried the JST which was a very matcha forward taste and a matcha mille bite on top (very tasty). I'm into unique drinks and flavor profiles so this drink was my favorite part of the meal lol. The sushi was very fresh and good, but for me, the options were not as inventive as the drink. We were not starving so I wish I could have tried more and definitely would comeback to try more, but even from what I saw in the reviews and menu I wish there some more out the box concepts. We both had the wagyu riced rice - my husband enjoyed it and ate it all. For me, there were so many onions and other veggies it put me off a bit. The meat was good though! I had such a great experience here! It has a very grown and sexy vibe and perfect for a girl's night or date night. Our server was great and knowledgeable of the menu. I have heard great things about out this establishment and it did not disappoint. I arrived on a Sunday evening. They will validate parking for up to 2 hours in the parking garage. The decor is just stunning. I loved the lighting and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Now let's talk about the food. Oh mann -- this experience was quite subpar to say the least. Initially the vibes are great -- to access the dining area you experience a nice cat walk through neon lights that really have you feeling like "that girl". Unfortunately, the overall experience were like when "that girl's" heels break and you take a tumble. Tha food/experience -- - let's go -- we went with the HRW as we try to support the cause as all good foodies do in the month of August but ughhh -- The initial course with short rib tacos, crudo and sushi rolls was not too bad as my expectations were set for a vibey restaurant food quality.. However, my friend received her tacos a good 15 minutes prior to anyone else receiving their course. Ok.. let it slide.. Well same thing happened with our main course. One friend paid the $25 upgrade for the ribeye.. we watched him eat the whole thing before the remainder of the party received their entree.. Ok again.. BUT! 3/3 remaining steaks were served severely overcooked and were not of the quality you would expect of that price point. The server did apologize but this was an unfortunately "get the manager" offense so I made eye contact, and she came over. She was quite apologetic and provided us with the wagyu tasting flight.. Not to complain about something free -- butt this was also very poorly executed. The raw wagyu was served over a flame but the fire lasted too long and started to overcook the steak. We asked how to remove the lovely pieces of wagyu from the pits of hell, and we were told to stick our chopsticks through the large flame and basically rescue the meat. We did our best to salvage but a lot of the pieces were well done at this point and had the residual alcohol flavor that you may have experienced with a flambe. RIP wagyu.. We did enjoy the ube cheesecake. :) Parking is validated for 2 hours via garage or valet. Make sure to scan the QR code when you walk in as you only have 20 minutes to scan. Overall, the server did his best, the kitchen fell short. Haii Keii this place is amazing! I've been on a real sashimi, suishi kick as of late and was taken here for my birthday. Their truffle hamachi just melts in your mouth- literally. His name was Jose by the way I was so caught up talking to him, but I didn't notice that the ambience of the place was amazing very pretty futuristic type because like when you walk into the building well outside the building looks very futuristic and then as you come in they have these signs and say hi key and it looks so futuristic as you walk down the hallway to get to the dining area absolutely stunning. I really like it I really enjoyed my food. I hatched the shrimp chili shrimp. I believe it was really good and they gave you a lot of of it. That's what I can't say. The quantity of the food was amazing. They also had the special $55 per person when you get a appetizers or tray dessert for 55 bucks so we shared our entrées she had like the I don't know brace tacos. It was like with beef. It was a lot of season in those little tacos. They were so delicious. The shrimp was amazing as well like I really enjoyed them a lot I had the Seabass. It was so good y'all in some type of sauce I don't know, but it was delicious and she had the red snapper. It was great as well and a different sauce because at first we thought it was the same sauce, but it wasn't and we also shared a a crab fried rice with a softshell crab on top. It was very good as well. You didn't eat no seasoning on it. The food was seasoned to perfection and when we got to the dessert, she had like a Twix like dessert I don't know I didn't like it. I wasn't a fair enough because I really don't like a lot of chocolate, and I had to ube cheesecake when I say that cheesecake was so good. It wasn't too sweet. It was just right I really enjoyed myself. I do see myself going back and next time I'm gonna do the steak cause they had so many different states they have Wagyu steaks Japanese Wagyu. I want to see a Texas wagon. We celebrated our wedding anniversary with friends during Houston Restaurant Week at Haiti Keii. This place is very upscale and classy so you won't feel out of place with a cute little black dress and dinner jacket for the guys. Decor is very modern and Asian inspired with the white screen where you can have a personal message scrolling as a surprise for someone or special occasion. The wait staff was excellent and the food was so delicious. Sushi quality was a 10 and drinks were imaginable and well made. I would definitely go back to try more options on the regular menu. Since it was HRW we were able to dinner on the set menu which was a plus as some of our the meals we tried was at a great discount. All the meals we tried had very good flavors and the presentation was pleasing as we eat first with our eyes. We spent about $150 per couple with the HRW menu and drinks. I had high hopes for Haii Keii after seeing it on instagram with the cool interior but left disappointed. The service is pretty sub-par. My friend and I arrived a couple of minutes late for our 9:45pm reservation only to be greeted with an immediate notification that the kitchen closes at 10pm. Excuse me, what? Why offer 9:45pm reservations if that is the case. The server tried to "accommodate" us by offering to get our order in quickly but did it in a poor manner. Literally the second he finished pouring our sake, he asked if we wanted to order cocktails too. What? We literally had not even taken a sip of our first drink. I was also disappointed that the waiter only conversed with my male companion. Any recommendations about the menu, sake tasting, etc, all directed to him. Hello? Sitting right here! I guess women don't matter much here. When our sashimi arrived, I had to ask for soy sauce and ginger. When the waiter returned, he only brought one dish. Are we supposed to share a dish? Finally, as I mentioned, the manager and waiter made it clear that they were in a rush to get our orders in as quickly as possible, however when we were ready to pay, they were nowhere to be found. This is the type of place you take advantage Of during HRW bc you expect the most bang for your buck, and hopefully are wowed enough for a return visit. I will say flavours were overall good, but the coursing of this dinner was all kinds of wrong. Not sure if they usually have the bartenders waiting on tables as well, but that was our case. Server was checking on us regularly but I guess should have noticed the odd timings of everything from the kitchen. I got my short rib tacos first- good depth of flavour to the meat- wish they weren't quite so minuscule though. Then came out one persons tuna poke tacos. After we were done is when the hamachi crudo came out for the next person, followed last by 2 of the rolls. The sides we ordered: truffle fries, and such fried rice then came out before the entrees. Truffle fries were nice but the duck fried rice was mediocre and greasy. Then the bone in rib-eye came out and he was pretty much done with his steak when the other steaks came out for the rest of the table. I had a bite of one - meat texture was nice but the dipping sauce was a little heavy on the sweetness. As for my miso sea bass- I actually enjoyed the cook and flavours here. To close it out most of us got the Ube cheesecake which was just right in sweetness and I liked the crunchy nuts with it. I'm assuming it was the manager for the night that did come by at one point and when she heard about our coursing out and steaks that weren't cooked to satisfaction, she did send us out the Around the World flight. I had the most incredible birthday experience at this restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I was immediately struck by the beautiful decor and welcoming ambiance. My group was seated right away, and the amazing bartender and waiter, Ollie, came over with a big smile to take our drink and appetizer orders. We ordered a little bit of everything: the spicy edamame, broccolini, pork belly, shishito peppers, Wagyu burger, tuna and caviar cones, and the hand roll. Every single dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Delicious AND "instagrammable" are understatements. I'm usually skeptical about trendy viral restaurants because it usually means that the ambiance and decor are the highlight and the food is an afterthought. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE HERE. The food came out quickly, and we didn't leave a single bite behind. Compliments to the chef(s) for creating such a delicious and memorable dining experience. The presentation of the tuna and caviar cones was superrrrrr cool! The drinks were just as impressive. You must try the Ube Espresso Martini because it's creamy, balanced, and just the right amount of strong. Ollie also crafted a special cocktail for one of my guests, which made the night feel even more personal. To top it all off, the restaurant surprised me by displaying "Happy Birthday, Helen" across their screen. The manager came by to check on us and made sure everything was perfect. I was very disappointed. Once again, I have fallen for the tiktok reviews. I am not a sushi person so maybe my review would be different if I were one. I ordered the crab fried rice and it was very lackluster. I also ordered I believe it was the snapper. Both entrees lacked flavor which you'd think they'd have so much of just by looking at them.
