Probably the best galbi tang I've had. 3-4 huge pieces of meat. The meat didn't fall off the bone as some people had advertised but the combination with the broth was damn good. If you are feeling super hungry, you can order another portion of noodles with your bowl for $1 more. I liked how the waitresses walked around with ban chan refill buckets. I hate when they take the entire dish away to refill it because they always get bogged down with something else and returning with a refill takes awhile. Here, depending on what you need more of, they scoop it out of a bucket and load it up! It was busy on a Sunday later afternoon (3pm) and there was still a 15 minute wait for 2 people. Don't be startled when they seat you with another party if there's space at their table. Its the asian thing to do to serve as many people at one time. There is a distinct smell when you walk in but after awhile you get used to it. When you sit down, they give you some kind of ice tea drink. To me it taste like weak green tea with a hint of rendered down fatty beef broth. The waitress explained that this is "boli(?)" tea. I asked for bottled water and the waitress told me "no". Ummm...ok, boli tea it is. After awhile you get used to it. I ordered the Galbi tang and my friend ordered the cutlet The Galbi Tang was sizzling hot. The meat was very tender and delicious when you dipped it in the sauce. There weren't a lot of noodles in the soup, just a few strands to make a guest appearance. I think the real winner is the Katsura cutlet. The piece was huge. The coating was crispy and the meat was so soft and delicate, it melted in your mouth . Okay, even though my friend found a hair in their soup/kimchi, we were able to get our food exchanged and refunded. And yes, even though that is bad to start off with, I can't say that the food here is terrible because of it. It is one of the few places in this area that sells Oxbone soup (Seolleongtang)! And they make it the right way! I got the Seolleongtang with beef brisket and my girlfriend got the Galbi Tang (Pork Rib Soup). The broth comes out a bit bland however that is why there is salt, pepper and green onions already at your table. You get to make it the level of saltiness and spiciness that you like. I love this dish and am so happy I found it around my hometown. A little hair is not going to keep me away. This little restaurant is nestled on Orangethorpe. Parking can be limited at peak times but you can find street parking too. The menu is smaller but this restaurant specializes in a few dishes and they do it well. This place has the best galbitang I've had - generous portions and plenty of meat. Came here with my mom & pop today. I tried out the Galbi-tang (Beef Rib Soup with Veggies), which my mom told me is one of the best she's eaten. Considering that she makes some pretty good Galbi-tang, I was like "whoaaaa, okay." Well, it's the best I've ever eaten. They also give you an empty bowl to place the meat & bone on the side, so you can dip it into their homemade dipping sauce. It's a great acidic taste, kind of tastes horseradish/mustard/soy sauce/onion-y to me. You also got your other banchan (side dishes) as well, mostly on the spiced side. Excellent Galbitang. The wait can get long since the place is very small. The galbitang here is unlike any I have had before and it comes with giant beef ribs that you can gnaw on. I'll be honest. I'll also go out on a limb here and say I'm not the only one like this... but I ONLY come here for the donkatsu and have only ever tried the donkatsu, despite having come here many times already. The portion size is ridiculous, and it comes with rice and a delicious slaw salad. The donkatsu is not overly greasy or fried like your typical cutlets, and the meat is cooked just right. Perfection! It actually got to the point where one of the Korean ladies asked if I wanted to try anything else when I went for dinner once. Obviously I said no, but thank you very much. It's just so frickin' good I'm scared of wasting my time trying anything else! Haha! Obviously my five stars cannot encompass anything more than the donkatsu and service, but since you already know how I feel about the donkatsu, I'll also say that service has always been really great. The wait is never too long, we always get someone coming by to refill our water or tea or replace the banchan, and the ladies walking around are always really nice. Best galbi-tang I've had. Very flavorful broth, lots of meat, excellent dipping sauce. The Nakji dolsot bibimbap (Octopus hot pot rice) is excellent as well. The chap chae (sautéed glass noodles with vegetables) is meh and the suh lung tang is just NOT good compared to others in OC (tastes like there is milk added...many restaurants "cheat" this way). The place is called HanYang Suhl Lung Tang but its not famous for its suhl lung tang. I am a regular at this place ever since my first visit here since 2012 winter. I always get Galbi Tang. The broth is probably made with lots of TLC. I cant express enough how good their Galbi Tang is. For me personally, it is the best Ive ever had. Also, their donkatsu is really good. Deep fried just enough for tender crisp texture with amount enough to feed two adult females...I think.. lol. Those are the only two I get from this place, but other food selections seem to be really good as well. Parking could be a hassle and the wait time is decent. It is always crowded here but their turn over rate is fast and you would wait at the most 30 -40 min if its reallly packed. With service, I dont have much to rave about but nothing to complain about. I came here for lunch with my grandma and brother and we were all very satisfied with the food. I got sulungtang, my grandma got beef tendon soup, and my brother got the donkatsu. I had been craving sulungtang for a while and this place did my craving justice! I usually like to eat a lot of rice, but at this restaurant I was able to simply enjoy the taste of the soup! The meat in the sulungtang was very soft and plentiful. And of course, to complete any bowl of sulungtang, they have some bomb kimchi and pickled radish. Our waitress was super friendly and polite and came by our table a couple times to make sure we were okay the entire time. All in all, good service and good food! read more

In Buena Park to hit up the beaches and visit Knott's. Realizing we've never tried Korean food and feeling adventurous we gave it a shot. The wait was long, about 25 minutes, seated outside. The service however was pleasant and efficient. The food was amazing. The number 6 Don-Katsu and number 8 Korean BBQ Beef Bibimbap were amazing. We knew what we wanted to order when our server arrived and she promptly returned with iced jasmine tea and three types of kimchee. We left at 9:05 PM and there were still patrons filing in (they close at 9:00PM). The servers were happy to see the new customers and cleave no indication of being frustrated by the late arrival of the new guests. Overall, the experience was amaxing and we had leftovers for the next day. I wish we had this spot I'm Seattle and am looking forward to returning on my next visit south. read more

What a hidden-ish GEM! I used to always go to Garden Grove for sul lung tang and other traditional Korean soups but was introduced to this by mom and her friends. I used to live about 5-10 minutes from this place but now since i've moved into Garden Grove, it'll take me a good 25 minutes. I would still take the drive out to Han Yang over any other spot for their food. I was fortunate enough to have a smart family and order several different items for each of us to try. My favorite here is the galbi tang and the yukejang. These pack in all the flavors, you really don't need to add anything in order to adjust to your taste. With your soup orders, you get a bowl of rice and they come with dang myun or guksu. (Dang, i'm disgracing myself as a Korean because i'm probably blotching these words in English LOL). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is wanting some good authentic Korean food! read more

Even on a weekday night, the place was super crowded and this is a sure sign the restaurant is good! I was not wrong, and their soup, Galbi Tang, was AMAZING! It was a cold night in SoCal (how can that be?) and a few friends and I arrived and we have to wait for the table. Since it was cold outside, I thought I'll get a hot bowl of soup instead of a plate of rice or whatever. On the menu and all around us is this item - beef rib soup. Sounded kind of strange to me. Then again, it was COLD outside... After a wait, my order arrived and the bowl was a little smaller than I imaged. But after a single sip, I was completely enthralled. The soup was simple amazing and like what I have been trying to do for years at home but keep on failing. It was THAT good. If it wasn't hot, I would have finished my bowl in 5 minutes! It was so good and I have to tell others about it. After a few days, I can't stand it anymore and ordered a takeout so to enjoy that at home. You all know one. That place you drive by on a regular basis and sense, despite all visuals suggesting the contrary, that a place is a gem. Han Yang is a great find. With all due respect to Chinese every time I have Korean it reminds me like a cold smack across the face that I'm silly for not eating it every time, and also that Koreans may be the only populace more carnivorous than Americans. I recommend the Nakji-Dol-Sot. It's basically Bim Bim Bop with octopus, in the traditional sizzling hot pot. Be sure to let the rice get extra crispy before you stir it. I was hesitant to try this spot only because I was unfamiliar with what they offered BUT I AM SOOOO GLAD WE GAVE THEM A SHOT! I ordered what everyone on yelp recommended the ** galbi tang- OMG sooooooo goood! Now I'm no expert on Korean food but man this stuff was amaze-balls!!! The meat was so tender and melted in your mouth! The broth was so good! My bf ordered **Yuk-gae-jang(?)- He said it was okay but once he tasted my food he kept saying how he wished he would've got what I got lol ! Overall the meal was really good! Iconically...I come here for the pork cutlet (donkatsu). It is near perfection...! Cooked just right and simply melts in your mouth good. It's nothing fancy but simply delicious. Tried the galbi-tang and it did not disappoint. First off, hats off to the wait staff for getting a party of 9 hungry office workers seated during lunch hour in less than 10 minutes. Back to the soup-- the portion is HUGE! I couldn't finish it all, though that may have been due in part to the fact that I was eating right next to my boss and felt a little shy about slurping the soup and gnawing on the bones.... The meat was tender, albeit a little gristly, and the mustard soy sauce they give you to dip the meat in is pretty yummy. I didn't try the broth before seasoning it (bad form, I know), but based on the recommendations of other yelpers I put 2 scoops of the salt crystals and one scoop of the chili paste. After seasoning, the soup was very yummy. I wish there were more noodles in the soup, though. I'm a real noodle lover and I was looking for more of the glass noodles only to find that there were none. The dates in the soup add an unexpected sweetness to this dish that I really enjoyed and appreciated. I would think that a flavor like date would be out of place in a soup like this but the flavor really meshed well. I found the banchan to be a little lacking.. just some kimchi, nothing interesting. No fried fish or seaweed or anything good like that. Nothing against kimchi, I just expect more in banchan. I'm deducting a star for this and for the fact that the coffee machine isn't free All in all, I enjoyed this place and will probably return to have the galbi-tang again since it was pretty bomb-diggity. read more

Having never tried this place but getting it for lunch by my coworker (who is Korean) I was very pleased. I have a pretty bad cold and he promised that the Beef Short Ribs Soup would make me feel better and he was right! I loved every spoonful and couldn't finish it so I'm excited for leftovers. I enjoyed the variety of Kimchi as well as the sauce for the beef, Wish there was more of that sauce though. I did not eat in the restaurant but rather had take-out. Ah yes. One of the go-to Korean restaurants in the Buena Park area (the other big option being Surah on Beach). A friend was craving some sullungtang so the five of us decided to pick this place for an early dinner, around 5pm. We ended up getting pretty much all their representative dishes: sullungtang, galbitang, and tonkatsu. Oh, and squid fried rice. BEST DECISION EVER. Good quality food, hefty portions, and boricha to complete the feel-good meal. I will say the service wasn't great (we asked for rice and never got it) but eh, it's an Asian place. read more
