    Hot Chicken Teriyaki

Whose idea was it to serve teriyaki chicken on a sizzling hot skillet as part of the children's menu? Please take note of this--it is a very simple point: children can get burned, even if you warn them.

Jalapeño bomb was a solid 5/5 for us, it was crispy spicy creamy and crunchy! The spicy tuna was yummy on the jalapeno. Loved the textures and taste of the sauces together! The Hanabi roll was good, fish freshness was at 4/5 but I still enjoyed it! Not particularly special but it fulfilled the sushi cravings. The Hurricane was new to me and paired with softshell crab and crushed macadamia nuts, it was a nice mix of textures in every bite. Flavorwise, it was mostly eel and sauce but I enjoyed it! Rolls were both a 4/5 for us. Service was nice and welcoming. We went on a Sunday at 6:30 and the restaurant was near empty :( Ambiance was great!! I really liked the interior of the restaurant and enjoyed it as a short date dinner :)

Love this spot. My friends and I come here at least twice a month. The staff are all super sweet and the sushi is always good. I haven't had a sushi set that I haven't liked from here. They even do delivery! And it comes just as fresh as it would if you were dining in. I always bring my friends to Hanabi at least once if they haven't been here yet. The place is spacious and there's never a long wait, so if you've yet to try this place, you definitely should!

Biked over from our hotel and grabbed a table without waiting on a Saturday evening. Plenty of tables inside, good lighting, and nice staff. Large sushi roll menu. We started with the spicy edamame and it was great, to an addicting point. I got the monster roll and the spicy hamachi. Good quality fish, rice was solid, and the ingredients tasted fresh. Solid spot for sushi.

My kid and I love this place! We like that their menu includes both Japanese and Korean food items. Our favorite is their vegetarian sushi rolls. The restaurant is spacious, staff was friendly, the food came out quick, and it was delicious. We'd definitely come back again!

This is our go-to place in Mountain View! I've been here more times than I can count on fingers and toes, as you can see by all the attached photos! The staff here is very friendly and efficient. They always seat us promptly and have items flying out of the kitchen at a fast speed. Between their rolls, donburi, and bento boxes, everything is nicely portioned. Prices are in the mid-pricey range, but so is rent in Mountain View so I get it!! I personally think their donburis are the best bang for your buck as they were very nicely priced and are packed with both rice and main entree. Thank you, Hanabi Sushi Team, for always serving up delish Japanese food with friendly service!!

Came here last night for dinner before a concert. Great quick service, clean and big portions of sashimi. I ordered the combo dinner of chicken teriyaki (sauce on the side) that came with soup and a variety of side choices - I got the California roll. Good food and atmosphere, reasonable prices, we were stuffed and we were happy campers before going to our show!

10/24/2024 Hanabi Sushi 1040 N Rengstorff Ave Ste A1 Mountain View, CA 94043 We went there for lunch after shopping at Costco in the same plaza. The dining area is split between a cozy interior table and chair setup and a larger patio area. We were seated promptly with fast and attentive service. We both chose the lunch combo bentos. Wifey had the beef teriyaki and avocado roll and I had the Saba Shioyaki and Combo Tempura. The miso soup had good flavor and a few small cubes of tofu with kombu. My dainty mackerel filet was moist, tasty and boneless. My one shrimp tempura was hot and juicy with a crispy panko breading. The veggies were yam, carrot, zucchini and cauliflower. The dipping sauce was a little sweet. The beef was medium rare and lean of high quality with good teriyaki flavor. A good place for lunch and conveniently located. May repeat.

We ordered two different types of sushi rolls online. First, we surprised by the large number of items on the menu and felt it was just like a Japanese izakaya:) Crunch Salmon Mango - It was spicy than I expected, but mellowed and balanced by the mango, eel sauce and mayonnaise. Scallop Volcano - I personally prefer this one. Wrapped with three different types of fish (salmon, tuna, and yellowtail), you can enjoy not only sushi rolls but also fried scallops at the same time! I would like to visit the restaurant next time!

This is a nice little sushi place. I've been wanting to try them for a long time. We ordered the Tako Karaage (fried octopus) and 2 sushi rolls. The sushi rolls were pretty good, the fish tasted fresh, and the portions were huge. The fried octopus was a bit tough but tasted good nonetheless. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Do you provide cooked fish options? My wife is pregnant and can't have raw fish

Yes, we have fully cooked fish options like Salmon Teriyaki from the kitchen or you can choose from our selection of special rolls under the baked or deep fried rolls which are fully cooked as well.

The service was top notch even as they were busy. We were seated and our waitress was as professional as many fine dining restaurants with impeccable posture and attentiveness while taking our order. It's really the little things that set great places apart. Food: -Chilean sea bass twigim - like the most airy and crisp fried fish I've ever had matched with the butteriness of the fish itself Yookhweh - pretty good but came out slightly frozen still. Needed to warm up a bit to get more tender. Galbi - so rich yet tender with sweet and savory sauce, super delicious and it came with lettuce wraps Seafood tofu - a bombshell of flavors with big succulent portions of seafood, the tofu itself was actually quite special, soft like silken tofu, but still had good body and a bit of firmness. It tasted super clean. Spicy pork Bibimbap - delicious as well but less vegetables then we've seen other places. This was super filling and rich. For me to standouts for the tofu soup and twigim but the overall experience was top-notch and I can't wait to go back. I just want to try everything on their menu

I got the veggie dumpling tofu soup at medium spice and it was amazingly flavorful. The soups come out PIPING HOT, the bowls were still sizzling when we got them, and I definitely burned my tongue and the roof of my mouth even after blowing on my spoon for what I thought was a long time. The veggie dumplings inside the soup were also really good, I actually thought for a second when I first took a bite they had accidentally given me meat ones, but I'm pretty sure it was just tofu with a surprisingly meatlike texture. The menu is very vegetarian/vegan friendly, the vegetarian dishes are clearly labelled, and I believe all the vegetarian tofu soups are vegan as long as you don't add egg. Most of the banchan is vegan, except for the kimchi and fish tofu. The banchan I did get to try (cucumber, bean sprout, japchae, potato) were all really good with very distinctive flavors. Meal also comes with purple rice which I enjoyed. The menu is also very kid friendly, my little sister loved the fish tofu soup. The inside is very large and they also have outdoor seating as well. On the wall they have a menu signed by RM of BTS, who I guess came to eat here during the Stanford stop of the tour. In terms of service our main waiter seemed to be in a bit of a bad mood and was not super friendly, but he got the job done lol. However there was a different girl who brought us our banchan and she was really really nice. Overall I would highly recommend!
