There aren't many places that execute at the level Hanuman does. This was our first time eating here, and the food truly lives up to the reviews. The Khao Soi was my personal favorite that I've had in the States, the chicken wings were incredible, and everything else we tried was equally impressive. The drinks were very creative and tasty. However, what really stood out to me was the service, especially when it came to accommodating kids. It's clear the owner is very involved (we had the chance to meet her, and she was wonderful) because of the little details that most places overlook. Before we even sat down, there was already a small bowl and place setting ready for our daughter. When we asked for water, they brought out a cup with a straw without us needing to ask. Every dish was placed just out of her reach, and any trash was cleared from the table immediately. It's those little things, combined with the outstanding food, that made this such a special and memorable experience. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. came to eat here today during their soft opening and left happy and satisfied. the owner, jenny took the time to come to our table to make sure everything came out perfect from presentation to taste and told us her heartwarming story of her journey of founding hanuman. servers were also just as accommodating with the small details such as asking us if we needed sharing bowls and coming by with more napkins without us needing to ask. the two of us tried the yellowtail ceviche, crying tiger, glass noodle soup, and pad see ew with pork and almost devoured everything heh. 10/10 we had to hit the seal slap because of how full and happy our stomachs were!! :) read more

Arrived around 4:30PM for an early dinner on a weekday afternoon for a party of 2, Moment after we sat down at a tucked away location with a tiny table, were told about a 90-minute limit. This is not an AYCE and clearly there is no visible signage posted at the front door about the time limit. This place seemed focused only on turning the table, not on hospitality and quality of food (the over cooked rice in Pad Ga Pow was wet and mushy, portion of minced meat was too small for a $20 charge) We were out in less than an hour, but it felt stressful and rushed. Overall, the food was very good, I was planning to order drunken noodles vegetarian, but disappointed, in the vegetarian dishes only came with tomato and onion. No bell peppers, eggplant, etc., as I find at most other Thai restaurants. to me, this is very boring. The Panang with hanger steak was cooked perfectly, but the meat was chewy. The ambiance is average, but that's OK. Food quality is a much higher priority for me. Overall, a good experience, but the food did not deliver on the hype that I heard. Just got a chance to eat at the new Hanuman in Orange. Our last attempt was cut short due to the long line waiting to dine. We had an early dinner arriving at 4:30 PM and got seated right away. By 5:30, a line was forming outside and it would only get longer by the time we finished. Have patience if you eat after 5:30. The service was very attentive--they are definitely trying. The use a team approach so you will have several servers bringing items to your table throughout your meal. We started with chicken laab (larb) and it was divine. Be sure to squeeze the lime juice over it. Served with rice crackers it was a nice change to the usual cabbage leaves. Next up was the Khao Soi. I'm not a fan of receiving a huge leg of chicken in my curry dishes as I prefer the meat to already be cut up; however it was a beautiful presentation along with the dried noodles. At first glance, you think you're getting fewer noodles than at other Thai restaurants, but by the end of that deliciously spiced (but not overly spicy) dish, you realize the amount of noodles was very adequate. Great to the last drop! My least favorite dish was, in fact, their highly touted Khao Sawan, the Chef's Signature Dessert. While I found the salted coconut interesting, I felt it was overrated. It was good but it fell short of my expectations. Hanuman's prices are on the high side, but that seems to be the trend these days due to the economy. The flavors are wonderful! The choices are many. The lines are long if you show up at 6 PM. But all in all, it was worth it. We'll be back but I'll try to roti or coconut ice cream next time. read more
