We ordered the Massaman curry, drunken noodles, and lamb chops, and every single dish was packed with flavor. The atmosphere was great, lively but cozy. They give you 90 minutes to dine since people were waiting for tables, but honestly, it was more than enough time to enjoy our meal and each other's company. Highly recommend this spot! read more

Joined the waitlist on Yelp. Since we thought we had an hour took our time getting there. Got to the new Orange location to check in and found we were not on the waitlist. Yikes! Apparently we were on the Costa Mesa waitlist. The manager there was absolutely wonderful. She offered to seat us in the patio immediately. We were a little concerned about the street traffic noise but should not have been. We went to the patio seating without entering the restaurant. It was pleasant, cool and not distracting at all for our party of 4. The patio was very nice, lots shade from the large umbrellas. The wall facing the street did a great job of offering privacy and sound blocking. We were excited to try Hanuman as we had heard a lot about them. They suggested we share the chicken wings with rice as an appetizer. REALLY GOOD! The chicken was wonderful, crunchy, not greasy and very flavorful! We ordered the drunken noodles, pad see ew, Massaman curry with chicken and the panang curry with tofu. AMAZING! Flavorful, bright, satisfying! Friends recommended based on eating at the Costa Mesa locations and there is a lot of online buzz about the new Orange location. Just ate at the Orange location and it was exceptional. Chicken satay starter, wife had Gai Todd Hat Yai and I had Khai Soi. The flavors and quality were just outstanding. Fantastic service and Jenny came out to ask us about the meal and service. this is one of our favoritee thai food places and it never disappoints! we've been to the location bristol and this one was equally as good. the wait is quite long (as is with their other locations) -- we came on a friday evening around 6:30 and waited just over an hour. overall, the food is so yummy and worth the wait for us. we tried their massaman curry with hanger steak and it came with a crisp and fluffy roti on the side (this was our highlight dish of the night and highly recommend)! we also got the pad kee mao with tofu which had the perfect chew of noodles and you can never go wrong with. overall, we had such a goodddd meal despite the wait and will happily be back soon! read more

We attended the soft opening this past Wednesday. A large crowd waiting outside probably means they were just as excited as we were for this new Thai place to open. The restaurant is not very large, but with the patio space outside, it's a decent amount of room to fit a good amount of people. We saw groups as big as 8-10. We sat outside and were worried about the street level noise, surprisingly not noticeable which was a plus! Considering how packed and busy they were (a great sign), the service was great. There always seemed like someone was nearby if we needed anything. The food was traditional Thai but slightly elevated because of the way they prepared it and made it their own. We had the Ceviche to start with prawn chips. Ceviche was refreshing with larger pieces of fish with a slight citrus flavor. We also had the Gai Todd Hat Yat aka the fried chicken and it was the type of deep fried naked wing, I dream of. Crispy, a little salty and with the sauce, a little sweetness. We also had the Massaman which is their curry and got the steak which was done perfectly medium rare. The flavor of the curry was perfect with the steak. The curry had whole peanuts in it, which offered a nice crunch along with some potatoes. Lastly, we had to try their Pad Thai Boran. It's our litmus test when we try new Thai places. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not too sweet and it came with small firm tofu pieces and you can add shrimp. Overall the ambiance was nice, the service was amazing considering how busy they were for a soft opening. We are looking forward to coming back and trying other items. Great food. I would definitely come back to try the other items. The khao sawan was definitely the highlight as a dessert. One thing I was say would need some improvement would be the service. I received the check but when I got the receipt, it was charged to a different table. But just so happened and a lucky coincidence that the amount that was billed was the exact same amount. This has to be one of the best places to get Thai food in the country. I loved how balanced and deeply flavorful the khao soi was, paired deliciously with a glass of petite sirah. I needed it to be considerably more spicy, and the chili oil they provided was perfect. I thought the outdoor seating might be noisy from traffic but it was actually very peaceful and relaxing under the heat lamp and clear night sky. The service was attentive and good spirited. As this restaurant does not take reservations, we joined the Yelp waitlist when we were 5 miles away from the restaurant as per the Yelp waitlist policy. At that time the wait was only 25-35 minutes according to the waitlist. However, we ended up waiting nearly 1.5 hours (and this was a Thursday). The restaurant is also much smaller than it appears from the outside and we ended up having to sit at the bar. Plan accordingly. The food is good, but not worth such a long wait. There aren't many places that execute at the level Hanuman does. This was our first time eating here, and the food truly lives up to the reviews. The Khao Soi was my personal favorite that I've had in the States, the chicken wings were incredible, and everything else we tried was equally impressive. The drinks were very creative and tasty. However, what really stood out to me was the service, especially when it came to accommodating kids. It's clear the owner is very involved (we had the chance to meet her, and she was wonderful) because of the little details that most places overlook. Before we even sat down, there was already a small bowl and place setting ready for our daughter. When we asked for water, they brought out a cup with a straw without us needing to ask. Every dish was placed just out of her reach, and any trash was cleared from the table immediately. It's those little things, combined with the outstanding food, that made this such a special and memorable experience. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.
