I had a incredibly great experience here. The workers are super sweet, they asked me about my broken foot and were super engaged with the convo. I love that since it felt like they cared and it made me feel great. Going on to the ambience, the layout of the place is cute and nice! As for the pizza I really enjoyed the banh mi and pho pizza, they are both creative and tasty. Felt like a great touch of both healthy and unhealthy. The pho pizza was maybe the best-tasting pizza I've ever had in my life. It has a tangy combination of flavors that is absolutely wonderful, on a thin crust. It was ranked (in 2025) as one of the United States' 50 top pizza restaurants and I can see why. After seeing all the rave reviews of hapa pizza, we finally got to try it. It was even better than I expect. The pizzas were fire oven cooked to perfection and the toppings were flavorful and fresh. The steak salad was tossed in a delicious light dressing and the steak was tender and flavorful. We'll definitely be back to eat more pizza , salad, and try their rotating flavors. Very kind people here. Come early, they ferment their dough, thus they have limited amounts and do run out. This was our first time eating here but second time coming. Found this via NYT's recent review and it became the white whale of our trip to PDX (took two attempts S they were unexpectedly closed on the 4th of July holiday). I was skeptical at the fusion idea, but have to say I was pleasantly surprised - I had the Thai curry pizza with tofu, which superficially looks like the only non-margarita vegetarian option: be warned, they do use shrimp paste in the curry (which the servers helpfully noted to me and multiple others while I was sitting there). This place is just absolutely amazing! I'm usually not a fan of fusion flavors on pizza, but Hapa Pizza has made me a believer. They execute the flavor profiles so well that I was shocked how much it tasted like the actual dish but on pizza. The place is located conveniently in downtown Beaverton with tons of free street parking. The space is small, but it's still cozy and you can even see them making your pizza from start to finish. I went on two separate occasions before this review. The second time we went, the wait was a bit longer. We were quoted about a 15 min wait. I wasn't staring at the clock, but it probably was closer to 25-30 min. It was long enough that the owner had given us a couple of Hawaiian Suns as sorry for the wait which was super sweet! We've read about Hapa Pizza for seemingly ages, and finally visited last night after an event at the Reser center. We ordered the flagship Pho pizza, and I will admit I was skeptical that they could replicate pho in pizza form. I was wrong. Hooooly cow, was I wrong. They *nail* it. So, we omitted the cilantro from the pie, and Mrs. I. chose to leave the hoisin sauce off of her half. We got some of the yuzu ranch, too. Pie comes out super quick from the ultra friendly staff/owners, and it looked and smelled delicious. I grabbed a slice from my side of the pie, folded it in half New York slice style and man... it's magic. For me, the combination of toppings intermingling with the sriracha aioli and hoisin creates this pho umami that is like nothing I've ever had. Wife wasn't thrilled with the sriracha aioli, so we noted that for the future. Did I mention that the owners were friendly? I mean, we were the only patrons at the time, but it's such a welcoming vibe that I'm so happy to have in the neighborhood. We love Hapa Pizza! So much that we would go two nights in a row Our go-to pies are the Pho and Báhn Mì, but we have been loving the Pork Belly Kimchi and the Okonomiyaki. I'm originally from the East coast where we *know* how to make pizza. In my 11+ years out here, I had yet to find ONE place that had all of the pizza components needed to challenge the Eastern pie, but today I did. I took advantage of the barely there ordering line to snag myself a tried & true pepperoni pie, and it was well worth the 10-ish minute wait. I was pleasantly surprised to see cup & char 'roni (IYKYK), but the real amazement happened at the first bite: I literally groaned in satisfaction as the melty, gooey, acidic combination of cheese & sauce hit my tongue. It has been a LONG time since I've had that kind of instant gratification cross my lips, and the chewy, perfectly tangy crust could not have complimented the oral orchestra now playing in my mouth had it been a Boston Pops performance on the 4th of July. While I'm sad that Hapa is currently only available at the Farmer's Market for the moment, my family WILL be regulars, especially once the brick & mortar opens... This pizza is some of the best I've ever had. The flavors are bold and exactly like popular Asian dishes. We got our pizza very quickly too. I will definitely be going back to try the flavors we didn't get, and bringing all my friends. I had to text multiple group chats to tell everyone about it because Hapa Pizza was THAT good. The only negative thing I have to say about it is they don't serve soda, and their water cups are small. It was incredibly hard to narrow down the number of pizzas to get, which means I have to come back for more. We got the pho pizza. Full of rich flavor that we've known to be the signature of the eponymous Vietnamese soup. The crust has the burntish char on it and chewy goodness. The second was the massaman curry. It's good but really the pho blew me away that the poor curry pizza which was actually quite delicious didn't get as much attention from me. Dropped in on a Friday night to split a Thai peanut sauce pizza with tofu. Boy, was it busy! It was about a half hour wait and our pizza came out hot and crisp and with the right amount of chew in the dough. Have been here almost every time we visit my daughter in Forest Grove (we are from San Jose). Brought the husband this time and since we hyped this place up so much, we ordered the Korean Burrata salad, regular Bahn Mi, a Bahn Mi with Tofu and their seasonal, Korean BBQ. The burrata salad was heavenly. I thought because of the bright red dressing, it was going to be spicy, but it wasn't-- had fabulous flavor & the burrata was creamy. Pizza was absolutely divine. My husband termed it "the best pizza I have ever had!" Those are big words coming from him. He is SUPER opinionated about food and he really isn't a Korean Bbq lover. This is definitely a spendier pizza place, so be ready to dish out a few extra dollars for a pie. However, that being said, I have gone to Hapa Pizza even before it had a brick and mortar location in Beaverton. The owners have frequented Beaverton Saturday Market for a while now, and I have been glad to see their customer base continue to grow year by year. They specialize in Asian-style Neapolitan pizzas, which sounds confusing, but what that really means is some super delicious toppings that you won't find anywhere else atop a beautifully chewy, slightly charred, pizza crust. They have been busy ever since their grand opening, so it was especially difficult to find parking and a spot to sit during the summer months (not sure what it is like now that it is colder). The service is relatively quick - they seem to get a ton of online orders so even if there are only a few people ahead of you in line, they oftentimes make stacks of pizzas in between people... Anyways, at this point, I have had their Pho Pizza, their Banh Mi Pizza, and their Tom Yum Pizza. My two top choices are still their original offerings - the Banh Mi and Pho. I just find the toppings super refreshing and delicious. The Tom Yum pizza is okay but doesn't remind me enough of Tom Yum flavor-wise. I have seen recently as well that they are continuing to expand their menu so I can't wait to come back and check them out! read more
