If you're looking for good, authentic Chinese food in the area, I'd say that Happy Bee Kitchen is a good option! I came with a party of 6, and we ordered a variety of dishes that we shared family style. Overall, I'd say that all of the dishes here were solid, with the most surprising dish being the house special eggplant...I'm usually not a huge fan of eggplant but this dish was delicious! Portion sizes and prices here are fair as well and my party all left feeling full and satisfied. We came here on a weekday night and although there was a decent amount of people here, we were able to get seated right away. Service here was a bit slow at times but exceptionally friendly! The ambiance here is typical of a sit down Asian restaurant. The restaurant is located in the same plaza as 99 ranch market and there was plenty of parking.
We came here for a family dinner after seeing the good reviews. We ordered a few different Chinese dishes and fried rice, and honestly everything tasted really good. The prices were reasonable too, especially for the portion sizes. My parents really enjoyed the food, so that made me happy as well. The gentleman helping our table was super friendly and moved very fast the whole time. Even though he was busy, he still checked on everyone and kept a great attitude. The place itself is not super fancy, but it feels comfortable and relaxed for a family meal. Good food, good portions, friendly service, and overall a very pleasant experience. We'll probably come back again.
I came here for dinner, the restaurant is not very big, but we were able to get seated right away. Everything came out in a decent amount of time except for the chicken feet. Portion size depended on the dish. The honey walnut shrimp was definitely on the smaller side while the orange chicken had a lot, but it was more like thin crispy chicken strips which I have never had this kind of orange chicken. Service was good. I might come back to try some other dishes since it is close by.
Came back for a big family pickup on Easter Sunday! Ordered two Calamari appetizers, fried fish, sesame balls, chow mein, one of my favorite dishes Walnut Shrimp! This is now in my top 2 Chinese places in the LB/Cerritos area. Everything is fresh, nice portions for sharing, and the host and server were courteous. We're going to have to eat in sometime, the dining area is well kept.
I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but I know this place exceeds expectations. I was simply looking for a place with calamari and found my next dinner spot when I want a cozy meal. The calamari was flavorful in a way that it didn't taste like squid covered in flour and fried. The calamari had a nice savory flavor to it and my tastebuds appreciated the kick. I also ordered the house special chow mein. Again, not sure what I was expecting, but this dish was something different. There was a generous serving of each protein and the soy sauce was not overdone. I had to stop and remind myself I wanted to save some for my work lunch. Side note- these entrees definitely reheat well. I would say the only drawback was that I had ordered for pick-up and the food came out a little later than the expected pick-up time. You can't rush a good meal.
Happy Bee Kitchen has become one of our go to places mainly because of the service. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and quick to help. They check in without hovering, and orders come out on time. It feels a lot more attentive than what we are used to at other Chinese restaurants, which makes each visit easy for our family. We usually order the French style beef with mushrooms, honey walnut shrimp, and the salt and pepper pork chop. The food is good and consistent, but the service is what keeps us coming back. Overall, it is a comfortable place with reliable food and great service. A solid spot for a family meal.
We have ordered takeout a coup of times and finally had a chance to eat here. The food is pretty good, price is reasonable, and the cozy store is comfortable. With 4 dishes for the 3 of us, we liked pretty much everything we ordered and we had plenty to take home! The French style beef fillet, the meat was very tender, it was tasty and goes well with rice. When we ordered over of the vegetables, the server recommended something else more fresh, we appreciated that. We ended up ordering the Stirred fried Sprouts and it was excellent. We also ordered the Seafood with bean curds in clay pot, it was delicious with many kinds of seafood, the only thing is the clay pot was smaller other dishes. The only one that would probably not order again was House Special Squid. The dish was tasty with generous portions, the squids were fried and have the House sauce on top, generally, we prefer either non-fried, or fried without sauce on top as sauces makes the fried stuff less crunchy. Overall, it was a tasty dish but just not how we preferred. I think this may become one of our go to places!
All time favorite Chinese Food spot in the area and love the flavors. It's my go to spot to eat there and to order take out. It's reasonably priced and definitely try to get the lunch special to help your wallet.
All dishes were very tasty with friendly service and quick wait time. Waitress was able to answer questions. Clean restaurant with booths and tables and clean restroom. My favorite was the green beans. First time trying this place since i'm not from the area. Meets bay area standards.
Been here a bunch of times, we used to come here when it was a different name. Overall the food is pretty good. Sometimes it's a little inconsistent though, like this time. The Mongolian beef was insanely salty, almost inedible you had to eat it with rice. It's not usually that salty though so it was definitely a fluke. House Crispy noodle is always good and it was good this time. I almost wanna give them a three stars because that dish was ruined but we've had so many other good experiences here that I'll leave it at four.
I've been going to Happy Bee for many years and have always enjoyed my meals. The food is delicious and comforting. The staff is also very friendly and it's a nice family owned restaurant. It is very clean. My favorites are the house special crispy noodles, green beans, and the fried lobster. They have a great lunch special during the weekdays, which also includes a lunch special lobster deal.
Hadn't eaten Cantonese food in a while so had to hit up our favorite place in Artesia. This food was even better than we remember. We got a nice assortment of dishes that you'll see in this review.
Found this place thanks to Yelp reviews and it definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant isn't very big though so be prepared to wait during peak times. Ordered the Green Pepper Beef, Sautéed Fish Filet with Garlic Sauce, and Pan Fried Crispy Noodles with Chicken. I loved that every dish wasn't too salty. I've found most Chinese restaurants use way too much MSG but this place had nice natural flavors. Service was quick and attentive and the overall feeling inside the restaurant was quiet and peaceful. Can't wait to come back and try some other dishes. read more

Second time here, and I can confirm this is the best Chinese food outside of the 626. It's a small mom and pop shop with limited tables, if you have a larger party you should call ahead to make a reservation. Portions are solid and the flavors are on point! Yesterday we celebrated my best friend's birthday at happy bee. Let's first start with the customer service. Kimmie and all of the staff who helped us when above and beyond and were so incredibly helpful in explaining the menu and answering all questions we had. We went with many of the recommendations, which included the honey walnut shrimp orange chicken combination, rice and combination noodles. The food was fresh, and the taste was above average. We all agreed that this was a location that we would return to. There is not one negative thing about this business their service or their food. Giving them 10 stars in a five star world. Craving for some good chinese food? Happy Bee is the place to be.. their assorted seafood with tofu claypot is highly recommended. I have also tried their french style beef and honey walnut shrimp which did not disappoint. Service is fast even if the place is packed on a weekend. read more
Been here a couple of times, mostly for takeout but occasionally for dine in. It's in the same plaza with 99 Ranch market and many other businesses. House Special Eggplant is unique and delicious. The eggplant is sliced to about 1/2 inch discs which are breaded and fried. These are warm and crispy and dropped into a typical Szechwan sauce for some sweet and spicy notes. Due to the prep method these are amazing when hot and fresh, and unfortunately do not reheat well later. Honey Walnut Shrimp is a common dish and prepared well here. Not too much breading in the shrimp, with heavy of the Mayo sauce on top. Walnuts are usually on the side next to the shrimp rather than sprinkled on, and there are a couple pieces of broccoli too Bean Curd Szechwan Style has variable spiciness, and even the mild still has a kick. French beef cubes are great and good for takeout. House Special Fish Filet is prepared similar to the eggplant, but the fish is softer and so I prefer the eggplant due to the firmer bites. read more

Best Chinese Food around! We discovered this place on a whim by yelping. Got the fried chili lobster, mapo tofu, clay pot fish and eggplant, and hunan chicken. Everything was amazing! Came here to try the peking duck but unfortunately you have to call in advance to reserve one (they said the day before or at latest, the morning of). Salt & pepper shrimp - pretty delicious Deep fried lobster with spicy salt - was basically the same as salt & pepper shrimp. Have a craving for authentic Cantonese food... Coming from Detroit where there are not many authentic Cantonese restaurants, and had a craving... This restaurant was great and when you see Chinese customers, you are in the right place. I had the Haniese chicken with rice and beef brisket wanton noodle soup. Very authentic and delicious. Needed a yummy Cantonese fix today and Happy Bee Kitchen made my day. The salt fried lobster was light and tasty and accentuated its natural sweetness. Mapo tofu had that nice mala spice. Huinan chicken comes with a great ginger sauce. read more

The food was tasty and that's why I gave 3 stars. Here's the bad...We got our food quickly but the waiter NEVER came back. There was something floating in my hot water. I had the shrimp in lobster sauce and one of the shrimp had the full vein. Gross. And they don't give you steamed rice with your entrees, you have to pay for it. I had high hopes for this place. We were meeting a friend for lunch who wanted Chinese food but doesn't really eat spicy, so I suggested Happy Bee Kitchen. Parking was easy in the large lot on a weekday. We went shortly after opening on a Wednesday at 11:20AM so it wasn't too busy. The two waitresses were very friendly and attentive, and spoke excellent Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. Service was 5-star for sure, above average for a Chinese restaurant. The interior is nice and clean with a fair number of tables even though it is not that big of a restaurant. The menu was extensive with some Americanized dish offerings but many more authentic dishes. We ended up ordering a mix of lunch special items as well as dinner menu items, as the lunch specials came with a large bowl of rice. Complimentary peanuts were brought out at the start of the meal and we opted for hot tea as our drink. We ordered the green onion pancake and Chinese donut, Spicy Eggplant w/Garlic Sauce (魚香茄子) and Baked Pork Chop w/Peking Sauce (京都排骨) from the Lunch Special menu, and Honey Walnut Shrimp (西汁核桃蝦) plus Sauteed Water Spinach (清炒通心菜) from the regular/dinner menu. The water spinach was paler and slightly less crunchy than I am used to but was a large heaping mound. The pork dish was a little sweeter and wetter than I was expecting too. However, overall all of the food was delicious, and the portions very generous (especially the lunch specials). Our meal came out to a little over $80 after tax but before tip, and we had leftovers. Would definitely return to try more off of their extensive menu! read more
It's really hard not to love this place. I frequent he enough to know that the service is always on point and the food is excellent. Might I add even better than most Chinese that I've been in the area or surrounding areas. It is not a big store, so make sure you come with either reservations or not prime time. My family surprised me with an impromptu bday dinner here at Happy Bee.... first time here and it did not disappoint.. we ordered beef with scrambled eggs eggs, Mongolian beef and the French beef tips were all so delicious!! We also had shrimp and green bean chicken . All the flavors were perfect!! Parking is at the 99 Ranch Plaza, with Happy Bee located next to It's Boba Time & Let's Sea Bag n' Roll at the southside of the plaza. Wonderful food, wonderful people. When we arrived we were immediately served with delicious peanuts appetiser, they're nicely seasoned. Except for the house noodle which I personally didn't really like (7/10), the rest of the food we ordered are delicious (10/10). Service is excellent, our server (he probably is the boss) was so nice. He came back several times to our table to make sure everything is ok with us. And here they speak very good English and they're all very nice. The place is nice and clean and we feel very comfortable inside. read more

This is our usual takeout place when we want Chinese food since we don't have time to eat out these days. But before having kids we would come here at least every other week. Our usuals are honey walnut shrimp, filet mignon style beef, their fish tofu eggplant dish, house chicken, and west lake beef soup. Occasionally we will try something new and also order a veggie. Their service is really friendly and they speak mandarin and Cantonese. When I was heavily pregnant they were super friendly and helpful in advising what to order. It's a great place to have a large party since they have round tables but definitely call in advance. read more
I've been here several times and it's a decent place when you want some good Chinese comfort food. Majority of the time, I order takeout. I usually order the house special pan fried noodle (you need to request crispy otherwise it's the lo mein style). Theif fish filet with black bean sauce is good too. I wouldn't get the deep fried squid with spicy salt as a take out because it get soggy or too dry if you trout in the air fryer. That dish should be eaten as dine in. I do like the pork chop with Peking sauce. The price is reasonable. Service been good everytime I've come. read more
