Well, what can I say about heavy Bento? I will say this they have a wonderful ambience and their service is amazing! The food is made really fast and the portions are fairly good sized! I am not one to comment on sushi because I don't really eat it but friends of mine say that it is good when they go with me. I enjoy the fried rice and teriyaki dishes, as well as the Chinese dishes just about all of them I have had have been great! This place is fantastic, I have come here so many times to eat-in and to take-out. First the staff is always friendly and full of smiles. It is crowded during lunch time (at least when I have come) but ither than that there is mostly always sitting. Their sitting arrangement is spacious but cozy. They also have a sushi bar available. There is a special going on everytime I go. Their menu is large and has several good options. The menu for the kids could have chicken katsu though, it doesnt. We ordered the bulgogi and the chicken katsu bento. I have had their teriyaki before but never their bulgogi, the portions are large and the bulgogi tasted delicious! I totally recommend it. Their bento came with rolls that were freshly made. Their Chicken katsu was soft but with the perfect crunch on the outside. Their katsu sauce was perfect too. I had green tea which was perfect for the rainy weather and my daughter had a lemonade which tastes pretty good. There is plenty of parking available by the way and they do have handicap areas at front. Only had the chicken fried rice several times. Sometimes it is AMAZING & full of flavor which keeps me craving more, but other times it is just really bland. Consistency is lacking at best. Here now praying to catch the GOOD COOK. Unfortunately out of the 6 times I have come here 2 were amazing, other 4 were averagely bland & lacking. Ok todays fried rice was horrible bland again. 5 out of 7 tries gets u 2 less customers, Guess I will be heading elsewhere. Maybe they fired the GOOD cook they had? I dont know, but I'm NOT wasting ANOTHER $30 + tip, roomy completely agrees. Bad service. They close at 9:00 pm. We got there at 8:00 but it's so obvious that they were really rushing us to order, eat, then leave. I go out to dinner to enjoy good food and to relax. I can't relax when I feel rushed. I felt like I didn't have enough time to look at the menu. I get it that they want to leave on time. Walking in, I was immediately welcomed in by a super nice girl working the cash register. The overall atmosphere of this place was quite nice, relaxed, and welcoming. Their menu is huge, with so many options to choose from. I eventually went with a teriyaki chicken bento box. First, The California roll was average in taste but still satisfying, the tempura veggies were tasty and crisp, I liked it a lot. The chicken teriyaki itself was delicious and full of flavor and the salad tasted fresh and really great with the sauce it comes with. Very disappointed with our order once we got home. The crab Rangoon is way overcooked and very difficult to eat. The amount of beef in both beef teriyaki is way less than normal and on a bed of cabbage (or some type of salad) although I requested no salad. One tiny thing of sauce to pour over the meat that is completely dry. If I lived closer, I would be bringing it all back. However, we are way out on Meridian and 267th. read more

This is one of my favorite spots for Japanese food in town. The menu large, food is great, servings large, and most impressively the service is always fantastic. This trip I got the spicy pork bulgogi. The spice level was the only thing that was a little disappointing, it was rather mild but I do have a higher tolerance to spice. Pro: Katsu & Katsu sauce are really good & amazing customer service!I went and sat and ate here once and felt the portions were pretty good. Con: Today I got the same thing but to go( Katsu and teriyaki ) and the portion was really small ( EVEN THE RICE PORTION) compared to other local teriyaki places! The teriyaki had an "off" flavor too it too... my husband said this last time but I felt mine was fine so I thought I'd try it again. I also had the Taro bubble tea and it was my least favorite I've probably ever had. It had a "fake sugar" taste to it. Although it seems like bubble teas are very popular there so maybe the Taro flavor is just not the best. I took a very small portion out for my toddler but you can see in the photo the portion is not comparable to some local places. I have been a loyal regular to this location for many many years. You wouldn't think a small little place by Walmart would be that amazing but... Yes my friend, it is. The dining room is always clean and relaxing. The staff is always friendly and prompt- in fact a lot of the time you'll get the owner himself serving which is nice. Since Covid I have used door dash to eat here and never had a problem with any of my delivered orders. My favorite thing about this place is the variety in the menu. I'm pescatarian and my boyfriend is very much NOT. I love sushi, he thinks it's nasty... Which is usually a problem at teriyaki or sushi places but here we can both eat and be satisfied. He usually gets the mongolian beef (it's spicy be careful) and I get sushi. They also have a lot of teriyaki options my boyfriend loves... And chinese-like entrees like sesimee chicken or sweet n sour chicken I super recommend. If you love sushi this is gunna be your jam! I personally have replaced trappers with Happy Bento. I find the sushi is on par, you wait ALOT less, it's not crowded and as I mentioned before if youre with someone who doesn't care for sushi there is a huge menu of other options. My favorite rolls? I personally love the mango paradise roll it's a bit sweet but the flavors work super well. I'm good with the normal philadelphia roll here because the smoked salmon is bomb! I also like the vegas roll- which is basically the fried version of the Philadelphia roll with a cheese-like sauce on top - omg it's so yummy ! It is almost like eating a cheeseburger except it's sushi. Hard to explain but try it!! It works, The flavors are amazing! After deciding to eat at Happy Bento. I ordered the Mongolian beef dish. Now, I've been eating Mongolian beef for for years and I have tasted all different kinds and styles of the dish. So I'm very familiar. But this one was probably the worst that I have ever had. The meal had a ton of hard beef gristle. The meat sat in a pool of soup at the bottom of the plate. Through the meal I found very small pieces of American broccoli as I was eating the plate. I thought to myself. "Hmmm. I wonder if this restaurant just gave me a recycled meal that someone didn't pick up from a past order and gave it to me as a different dish?" The meal was not worth the $21 that I paid. I usually eat at home and I can't speak for anyone else's experience at this place. But my experience reminded me to never eat at Happy Bento again. read more

The food is good. The bulgogi was a little on the greasy side and tasted different than what I am used to. That could be just a matter of preference. The service is the main reason for the 2 stars. It is completely understood that compliance with COVID-19 guidelines are essential. The server, Bora, did the following: 1. She separated people who live in the same house from sitting together. 2. The table they seated the other part of our party (who live in the same house) was the SAME DISTANCE from the table we requested them to be seated. We tried to explain this to Bora (our server), but she wouldn't have it. As we were eating, two servers came by to ask my husband and I for our plates (one of them being Bora). Since the food is good, we want to come back in hopes that the servers, in this case, Bora would "hear" the customer's explanation in order to better comply with safety guidelines. read more

The place is very clean and the menus were easy to read with nice professional photos and layout. I ordered the spicy pork bulgogi which came with salad and white rice. It was delicious and reminded me of the spicy pork that I used to get in Songtan and Seoul, spicy and sweet; with the perfect amount of Gojuchang. Really good stuff! If you want protein in your Udon , just ask they will replace the fish cake for the meat but of course there's a extra charge for protein. Double check on your order when u do , they tend to forget the protein the few times i order for the Udon. Understandable since its a special request. Overall still a good experience .
