Came here before the dinner rush and was seated immediately. Not sure if it was the owner or manager but he handed us our menus and walked away, we waited a while for him to ask for our drinks, probably about more than 5 minutes. I tried signaling him to come over so we can put our drink orders in and our food orders since we already knew what we wanted. It seemed like he was more occupied in attending to regular customers that eat there. After 3 attempts of trying to get his attention he finally made it over to our table. We ordered our drinks and food and i think he can tell that we were peeved that he took so long. Food came out after 10 minutes and it was indeed delicious. Prices were decent and we went home with plenty of left overs. I hope they work on their customers. That being said I will probably be back but maybe next time ordering take out. Take it from a real Chinese, as of now, Happy Kitchen is the ONLY authentic Chinese restaurant in Chino Hills. I heard some say it's pricy, but that is not true. Each dish is about $8 to $10 more or less. Portions are huge, so if you order 3 dishes, it's enough for a meal for 2 with plenty left. Order the "water boil" beef. Don't let the name fool you, it's super spicy and delicious. Add Shang Hai spare ribs, and another vegi dish, and you'll have a good dinner. If you are going alone, order the pork chop rice (around $6) and it's a full lunch by itself. read more

The ladies that work here are rude and racist as fuck. I watched her being nice to some Asian people that walk in, and then when I came in to order my food she was rushing me. I didn't know that the vegetarian fried rice had tofu in it, because I've never heard of anybody putting tofu and fried rice. So when I asked her to make it without tofu, she got an attitude. And then they made it over and I opened it, and the rice was hardly was cooked with any type of soy sauce and was still completely white. She put one soy sauce in the bag and I asked her for more and she handed me one more packet. I said you just gave me a whole container of rice can you give me more soy sauce. She said how many do you want, I said three, because I was going to take it home and refry it with the soy sauce and she got an attitude again like that's way too much. Typical rude Asian people. Best Chinese food in Chino Hills! I'm a pretty picky eater, and of the 7 dishes we've tried there so far, loved them all! Especially the honey walnut shrimp! The only down side is that the portions (if you're sharing several plates with others) are a tad bit small for the price. read more

We decided to try a new Chinese place in Chino Hills and we found Happy Kitchen! Friends said this place has pretty authentic Chinese food so we decided to give it a try. When we got seated, the waitress greeted us with limited english and we could not understand what she was saying at all. When we have questions about the menu she couldn't really help us out. Luckily there's another waiter that came to us who was able to answer our questions. He recommended sizzling beef and kung pao chicken which were very decent. We were glad that our dinner went well since we don't really speak that well of Chinese. The waiter's recommendations were good and we will definitely come back! read more

First time giving this place a try. Went with my husband and baby. We ordered a couple things, we weren't to excited to see that they have small cups for drinks. And when my husband ordered a soda the waitress brought a cup of ice with a can soda. My husband is a refill type of guy but had to settle with only one can. And we were a little annoyed that his soda was $1.75. Were we can buy a can for $1-1.25. Everything we ordered was really good, the wonton noodle soup, the orange chicken, but the kung pao chicken can be more spicy, it pretty much tasted like teriyaki chicken with the nuts. If in the area again, we probably won't stop by. Food was good, and though the waitress seemed kid friendly their bathrooms aren't. Our baby had an accident and neither women's nor men's restrooms had a changing station/table... saw the comment about the servers not speaking english. that was exciting! in the last 2 weeks we've been there THREE times. perhaps others can nitpick about how it compares to sgv eateries, but for chino hills - this is an absolute knock-out. among the times we've sampled: 1. mushroom and chicken soup hot pot: you know it's authentic when you find an actual chicken's foot, with the gelatinous goodness that tells you it has been simmering for a while. very good. 2. beef roll - think of it like a chinese burrito/wrap. inside is fragrant (five spiced) think slices of beef with a touch of hoisin sauce, cilantro. a must order item. 3. shanghai style spare ribs - i could sit there and eat this by myself. boneless pieces of pork rib meat. if you enjoy orange chicken, this will put a smile on your face. the light breading in their own sauce, coated with almonds... another amazing dish. i'm really excited this is in chino hills.... read more

The best friend and I could not decide where to go out for dinner, and as a recommendation, we ended up at Happy Kitchen. It was about 7:00 p.m. when we arrived, there were a few customers eating, but we were seated quickly. The customer service was attentive and checked on us a few times throughout our meal. I was impressed that we did not wait too long for our food to come out! All our plates practically came out at the same time, and they were all hot! Hands down my favorite dish, and highly recommend the Walnut Shrimp, I could have eaten that all night! The food is not your typical Panda Express "Chinese food," leans more towards the traditional side, which makes it even better! The food is served family style with large plates brought out and you serve yourself. I would recommend ordering two or three plates at a time, and if need be, order more throughout your meal. I know I will definitely be keeping this place in mind on my next Chinese food craving! read more

Be careful when you pay with credit card here! My family eat here a lot but I just found out that they steal money from your credit card! My friend told me today that she ate there with her family a few days ago and she paid $41.55 including the tips. We went vary wary. We've been looking for a good Chinese place but haven't found one yet in Chino Hills. We thought this was a fast food Chinese place. It's not. It's a restaurant. It's super clean inside, nice decor. Staff was all very friendly and helpful with explaining menu items. We went for a late dinner on a Monday and the place was packed with all Asian people. Only two tables free and we were the only non-Asian people there, which I felt like it was a good sign. If Asian people are eating here, it's probably authentic and delicious. Well, it was! We ordered Chicken Crispy Noodles (menu says Seafood but we substituted chicken instead), Mongolian Beef, Pan Fried Dumplings, Beef Fried Rice, Chicken in Spicy Garlic Sauce (can't remember the exact name) and Chicken Chow Mien. Every last things was so delicious! The only thing was that the Mongolian Beef was way too peppery. It was like it was rolled and coated in a dish of fresh cracked pepper. The flavor was great, just too much pepper. The only other problem was a few pieces of meat were a little questionable - a couple too chewy and a couple fatty pieces. It didn't ruin the meal, but we did pay attention to each piece of meat we grabbed. The hot sauce was sooo good. Had amazing flavor but extremely spicy! Prices are reasonable - $8-10 for most dishes, each dish serves 2-3. There were 4 adults and 2 toddlers - we all shared and we finished almost every thing. There was half the crispy noodles left but we were just too full to finish - that dish easily served 4. We were so pleased that everything we tried was so delicious. I've been here a couple of times, generally with my elderly mother. Unfortunately, she is just so white that they tend to give us the 'panda express' service when she eats with me (not a bad thing, really, they just take away the chopsticks and give us western silverware). They have a very wide selection of dishes, like many asian restaurants tend to nowadays. Pretty much everything is good. I usually like to get the fried pork chop with rice, and it's pretty good; they serve it cut up into bite sized pieces without the bone in it, which I really like. Horrible Service. If you do not speak Chinese then they pretty much ignore you. My wife use to order 3-4 times a week for food to go. One day I had to go pick up the food because my wife was running late (wife speak Chinese, i don't). I paid and i had to wait because it wasn't ready (order 20 minutes ago through phone). Sat there and watch three customer order and picked up their food before I did....40 minutes in... I asked them if my food was ready and the lady ignored me and ran into the kitchen. wow... that was rude. Another lady came out and I asked again. They said its not ready yet. Okay.... waiting another 20 minutes and watch other folks order and picked up their food. Now I just wanted my money back because at this rate, am never going to eat. I ask for my money back and the lady said wait wait i'll bring the food out to you. Check this out... I was relieve to finally go home and enjoy a meal with my wife...then in my rear view mirror, I see a lady running out chasing my car. OMG... turns out she gave me the wrong order. I had to park my car go back in. They lady apologizes and went through my order carefully and behold my food was sitting on their table all this time. They just didn't bother to tell me it was ready. They told everyone else but for some reason they forgot to tell me my order was ready. THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD AT AN RESTAURANT! My wife and I no longer order from here. If you don't speak Chinese, then I do not recommend this place. I think their employee are shy too speak English because they have no confident or embarrassed. Honestly, as a customer I do not care how poor your English is. Just speak, communicate and give me my food! I recommend the Korean BBQ next order. That's where I go now. read more

my daughter and i saw this place and walked by and picked up a menu as we got groceries at albertson's next door. we decided to take her here for her birthday as she asked for "rice, noodles, and taiwanese food" (she is a 4 year old who knows what she wants). what caught my eye was that the menu had taiwanese food and different culinary cuisines from china...score!!! we ordered tons of food on her big day...our waitress didn't speak english and my poor chinese/taiwanese didn't cut it. we got stinky tofu, fish fillet w/broccoli, steamed dumplings, some pork dish, some tasty soup w/ noodles with star anise in it, and then a leafy veggie...sorry guys but i do no remember everything. the booth we sat in was cozy...had pillows and my little girl loved it. the food was all very good. stinky tofu was great...my mom complained of the smell...that's how you know it's good =P! even my overly picky non-asian parents enjoyed...especially my mom who is most non-adventurous when it comes to food. so i definitely recommend this place. i swear this place is owned by the same owner as Happy Kitchen in San Gabriel. menu is the same! the choices are plentiful and i have my eye on the szechwan mala type stuff next time around...though no one else likes things as spicy as i do =P the prices are reasonable and we feed our entire family for $70! the dumplings are something i expected from the dragon...so if i don't feel like driving to rowland heights i will be making a much closer drive to here! read more
