Hoooooolyyyy crap this place is so expensive. But 4 stars for it's food. I went with a friend for dinner and it came out to be around $25 per person. To be fair, we could have ordered less, because we underestimated the portions. We got a divider hotpot. Both the vegetable broth and the spicy broth are DELICIOUS. They're full of flavor wit dates, herbs, and spices. The menu has a vast array of choices, from meat to seafood to vegetables. I'm vegetarian and I found a lot choices (yam, mushrooms, spinach, etc). Honestly we could have just made our own hotpot at home for a LOT cheaper but I'd recommend coming here for the experience. The staff is very nice and attentive, and the wait is not long. Little Sheep Hot Pot is a solid place for hotpot - we have this in California and it's a popular chain in China too. Inexpensive and a solid, solid selection of ingredients to choose from - I absolutely love tofu and they have a billion variations (tofu knots, soft tofu, frozen tofu, fried tofu curd, you name it... makes my Asian stomach oh so happy). So why the 3 star rating? Mainly the wait, really. I knew that we went on a Saturday night and they didn't take reservations for parties under 6, which was fine... my friends and I were prepared to do a loop around the New World Food Court before coming back to Little Sheep. However, they NOTED DOWN when we had arrived back at the restaurant and let people who were behind us in line (as in, got numbered tickets after us) get tables first simply because they PHYSICALLY waited AT the restaurant longer. Ludicrous. If it weren't for the fact that my friends and I flexed our Chinese debating skills we probably would've had to wait for much longer than necessary. If you decide to go next time and the wait is long, make sure to have them write down your phone number so that they can call you!! Lesson learned. 1.5 stars off for the wait/weird service, otherwise food/ambiance/sauce selection/etc was very solid. read more

Love hot pot here! The soup base is great and very unique. Has an herbal kick to it but really works well with the food. I recommend ordering some udon to throw in there because it really soaks up the soup flavor. Price is slightly high since you pay per dish, but it usually averages to around $25 a person. I was soooo excited that there is finally a REAL Little sheep restauant in ny! I love hot pot and ive been to little sheep in beijing, fuzhou etc. So after seeing it on a commercial i cant wait to go to this place. Went on a Monday night around 8:30 with a group of 5. It was pretty busy there, the decor was nice, restaurant looks clean, staff dress and looked professional. We order and our food came pretty quickly. The portions are okay comparing to the little fat sheep happy family in flushing but still not to my standards. The soup base was good but then it got really salty in the end. We didn't get much service bc it was busy so we have to wave a waiter down every time we need something. I was upset bc they didn't have a lot of live seafood options, all they have was crab and lobster. We ordered lobster but then we were told they sold out. So we end up ordering the frozen seafood platter. We paid 220 including a 15%tip ,pretty expensive for hot pot. Best hot pot I've ever had. The first chain store I visited was in Bellevue, WA, which was surprisingly amazing. The flushing one is as good. They aim for the mid-upper scale Chinese restaurant so the price is a little higher than other hot pot places, but it is definitely worth it. I recently went again in a hot summer day and expected an empty restaurant. I was wrong. The AC was strong so it does not get too hot in there. Food was yummy. Service was great. I would rate this place 2.5 stars but the overall food was good. Decor/Layout: 2 out of 5 - Needs improvement The seating is super tight and crowded, very limited big tables for groups. You have to be really careful walking through the restaurant because they have trays/stands sticking out at every table to place food. Not a bad idea if there was more space... This place is ok. My first time eating hot pot. I wouldn't eat here again. Not really all that flavorful. Service sucks. The waiters seem to walk by us and not ask us for refills on our drinks. We had to tell one of the waiters twice about the hold up on our order. He apologized and they brought half of our orders out a few mins later. We still were missing stuff. Soup bases are on point with quality meat. I've been here many times but never left a review. There are many hotpot places in flushing but each one is distinguished. This one particularly I come to when I actually want to eat a good spicy soup base just because everyone else that does "mala" in flushing always seems to lack flavor. What's the point of reservation if there's no table anyway?! Yum! This place was awesome. My first time at a Hot Pot restaurant and I'm addicted. I went with my brother in law and sister in law who are both very familiar with hot pot restaurants in China, (having lived there). They knew what to order and everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was attentive and polite. We had to wait on Friday night for 40 minutes and it was worth it! They only take reservations for a party of 6 and over, but they do call a head, so I would recommend that. All in all, I would definitely say go and enjoy. Every time I go here, the food is always great. Price wise, it can get a bit pricey, but otherwise it's worth it. However, the last time I went, I would give them 3.5 stars just because our server, Eric, was an inattentive server. He introduced himself as our server, but we never saw him half the time because it was always someone else helping us out. I would look up and see him just standing around, doing nothing while other people brought us our food. He also seems to have an attitude and not an overall friendly persona. I'm not trying to be picky, but I usually like servers who are friendly and take the time to make you feel at home and he did not make us feel that way. He was inattentive, did not check on us, and he looked like he didn't care about our experience. I know this place has some really great servers and now, I know there are some not-so-great ones. The beef angus steak and fish ball was good. Everything was going smoothly until my wife scooped up an unknown creature from the stew with her spoon. The manager 'Tony' apologized first and told us that it is from the vegetable and they rigorously wash 3 times. Does that mean other restaurants that do not have this bug-like creature wash more than 3 times??? Common give me a break. I highly do not recommend this place but if you want to risk it, you might get lucky enough that they will not charge you for the vegetable and take 20 % off your bill. Stopped by during a weekday afternoon, after reading all the great reviews that said this place has the best broth. Having tried it, I'd say it was good, a tad too Herbal for my taste buds. I prefer the soup at Spice World a.k.a Xiang (I believe is the new name). The ambiance and the booth style seating is much more cosy and family friendly; there's good lighting (compared to the pretty dim Xiang) and it's easier to converse here without the loud music blasting over the speakers. Also, thumbs up for the service!! The waiters are way more fluent in English and are happy to converse or explain the menu to you (which is not common for the area lol) . Little Sheep really deserves a 5-star rating. We were there for the first time yesterday evening. The restaurant is fairly close to the Flushing-Main St. subway station and is quite modern looking without being over-the-top. Seating was prompt. Servers were all very friendly and hospitable. Broths were very tasty, and servers kept coming by to refill them and frequently asked if everything was good, which it certainly was. Prices were very reasonable, and portions were sufficiently large for a 6-foot-plus hungry guy like me. Although not all-you-can-eat, you likely won't spend more than you would at an all-you-can-eat and will have enjoyed your shabu shabu just as much, if not more. We can't wait to return. read more

It's a very spacious and clean hot pot restaurant. My 2 friends and I ordered 2 plates of beef and lamb, rice and Mongolian beef pie . There were a choice of about 11 sauces with some guidance attached nearby on what sauce mixture is best for each type of meat. It was a bit pricy. Food was just enough to be content, but we paid $21 each for the whole meal. One downside was the mistakes the waiters were making with the order. We accidently received someone else's skewer order. Place was packed on a Friday night. It was after the dinner rush (~9PM), so we only had to wait about 5 minutes. Ordered the yin and yang pot, which was delicious. I'm normally not a fan of super herbal stuff, but this was good. I didn't even really use any sauces b/c the meat and veggies just absorbed the broth's awesomeness. Next time I will probably do just the mild. I love spicy food, but the spicy broth even made me choke. I like to taste my food, thank you. It's a international hot pot chain but very good nonetheless. The first time I had Little Sheep was in Montreal. Great broth. Go for ying yang pot (half regular and half spicy broth). All the meats and veggies that you can get to cook in your pot were very fresh. It was four us and the bill came out to about 20 bucks a person. Not bad. My only complaints about this place was the service. It was pretty bad. The waiters take forever to come around and aren't very attentive. You have to really flag them down. I love hot pot, xiao fei yang was actually one of the first hot pot place I visited when I was in China, and this one in the states didn't let me down. I think we pretty much ordered one of everything, but I would say the lamb was the big winner. Also, while I generally prefer lean beef to fatty, I think the fatty beef in this case was the better of the too. They are subtle when it comes to the "ma la," would have liked more, but I can't complain, it is after all "Mongolian hot pot" and not Sichuan. Nevertheless, this place is one of my new hot pot go to places in flushing. Just be sure to get there early or be prepared to wait because the line gets absurd as the night progresses. read more
