With so many hot pot locations in Flushing, this AYCE location is still one of my favorites that I have been to. It looked like this place only does 1 large pot per table compared to individual pots. You can split the broth up to 3 types. We got the 2-broth split pot with "Liu House Special Soup Base" and "Tomato Soup Base", both were above my expectation in flavor. They have a sauce station that you make yourself and prepped food that is ready to eat such as edamame and seaweed salad. Also, a drink station with water, orange juice, passion fruit juice and iced tea. Everything is ordered on the tablet that is at the table and the staff there are very observing since every time we have an empty plate/dish they would come back and remove it from our table. It came out to $53 per person with tax and tip for an AYCE location that serves higher than average ingredients. Overall I would come back again since I enjoyed it a lot and it is well maintained. One of the last ALL YOU CAN EAT (AYCE) hotpot places left. Food is fresh, and I mean that by the cooked foods, the snacks, the meats, everything! Budweisers are $1 each every day! Soup base is solid and they have some that are not found elsewhere (like, fresh coconut water with chicken and pork stomach. The Cantonese would know how much this would be a staple) Meats: get the FLAT IRON BEEF, it outclasses some wagyu. LAMB SHOULDER. And just try different things! Our party of 3 dropped by around 530pm on a Sunday. No wait. Place looks a little cramped. I'm not sure if we were seated in a 2 person table, but there was not a lot of space even on the table or in the booths. I kept hitting my friend and reached over him to grab food. You place your orders on the iPad and they bring it out in a timely fashion. As others have noted, the broth is not included. So on top of the AYCE, we also ordered the 3 flavored one for an additional $20. I think each individual one was around $14/15. Never had to wait too long for our selections. I feel like they didn't have a lot of options with regard to the meats. We didn't get the beef tongue but ordered the rest (lamb, fatty beef, pork belly), but felt like we were consistently eating the same few options over and over. One thing I did enjoy was how flavorful their broths were! We had the pork bone, tomato, and the duck. My favorites include their signature spicy, the golden chicken w/ fish maw, the sour duck & radish, and the peppery chicken w/ pig stomach soup bases. Spicy lamb spine and mushroom broths are good too. For must order items, get the lamb slices, six second tofu rolls, napa cabbage, bok choy, shrimp paste, basa fish slices, tofu skin sheets, shiitake mushrooms, quail eggs, and SPAM (yeah, trust me). While I'm not afraid to admit that Liuyishou is one of my favorite hot pot chains, I can also admit that I'm impressed with how far along this Flushing location has come along. There was a period just before and during the pandemic that this place fell on hard times with service and execution. They've managed to solve a lot of these issues it seems and I couldn't be a happier diner. The space isn't conducive for ultra large groups, so stick to groups of 4 and less. Since the interior is ultra tight, it means the waits can get ultra long during their popular times. I wouldn't encourage calling in, but might be worth it to gauge the wait time. Just know that Mandarin Chinese is close to essential here. The sweet spot for most folks is a combination of good value and high quality. They have managed to do well on both here. The initial price feels a tinge steep but the food is quality enough that unlimited portions feels justified. It goes without saying, the food presentation is always a highlight. Their awesome displays of meat and the soup base bear make every service moment one worth capturing. I truly love all of their broths. The Lin's House Special has premium beef tallow and the Golden Chicken is fragrant and pungent. I think some folks would benefit from the Duck w/Chinese Pickled Radish base since it's poppin with flavor. The basic options of tom yum, tomato, and pork bone broth are also available as well. Throw in a few orders of their sliced marbled beef, wagyu, NZ lamb, and angus beef slices with some random dumplings and that's hot pot heaven for me. We got the 3 soup base combination with Golden Chicken, Tomato and Pork Bone. My favorite was the Golden Chicken base which was nice and thick and perfectly flavored. I haven't tried anything like it before. I didn't even have to use my wife's tasty blend of dipping sauces. Just keep in mind that the AYCE price does not include the soup base, which can range from $12-18. The variety of meats, seafood, mushrooms, veggies, tofus and noodles, etc were great as well. The meat was nice and fresh, and my favorite was the beef and lamb slices. They also have ice cream which is great to finish the meal. The only downside is that the service is quite lackluster. They provide an iPad for ordering, which sends everything directly to the kitchen, so there's no need to wait for a server to take your order. The food arrived quickly, and everything tasted fresh. I came here with a friend on a rainy and cold Wednesday evening. The allures of AYCE hotpot was definitely very appealing given the circumstances. I've been to a Liuyishou branch many years ago in Boston and have had a great experience, so was definitely looking forward to the AYCE experience. There is a set AYCE price per person. You also do have to pay for the broth as well. Once you get past that, the options for the amount of food is amazing. Theres also a sauce station and area for other small fried appetizers and desserts. There's also a juice station should you want that. Hotpot meats were fine, but some of the seafood was not fresh and had an overly fishy taste. Unfortunately, the service detracted from the experience - a couple waiters were rude, particularly one wearing glasses. The restaurant itself felt dirty, and many of the small dishes included in the AYCE offering were depleted by 8-9 PM and looked dirty. We asked if they had more but they didn't make any effort to replenish them. I went to the restroom twice and both times I was rudely shouted at - the first time one waiter pointed at 1 of 2 restrooms and shouted at me to use that one. The second time I walked out of the restroom, but stopped since I saw the waiter with glasses mopping the floor. He aggressively and angrily shouted at me, pointing at the ground SLIPPERY!!! This place is AYCE but the price didn't include the broth. We ordered the spicy beef tallow and Tom yum broth. The Tom yum broth was really good and it almost tasted like it was from a Thai restaurant! I normally don't drink broth from hotpot places from I couldn't help and drank some of it. There were a lot of varieties for meat and veggies and they were all fresh. They had some premium items such as beef tongue and shrimp paste but they were only okay. The beef tongue's texture and color were a bit odd. It was brown and looked like it was cooked. I cooked it in the broth regardless since I wasn't sure and the texture tasted like it was braised. The shrimp paste also didn't have that nice chew to it. Overall experience was decent. Service was fast but I feel like the servers had trouble understanding us sometimes. AYCE was $32 per person and broth was another $18, which is not too bad for AYCE. The portion that they gave was slightly too big in my opinion for all you can eat. I should have went to Hai di lao instead the price for AYCE for quality is just not justifiable and plus you had to buy the soup base anyway which is crazy for AYCE! Service was okay until we had to leave Tips, the person (Xin Yan) who is the name listed on my bill, I assume he was the same guy who we had to deal with. When I was about to give my tip on my card (11% before tax) , he asked if something is wrong and that I should leave the minimum tip that he is asking and he was just standing there putting pressure. First of all why you looking at how much I am giving, they dont give any privacy to customers? I do get they want more tip, but forcing customer to give certain amount of tip is crazy. My mother had to put him in place saying we arent forced by law to do such thing. I mean what did they do? Refil soup and serve the food which is part of their job they get paid to do and it is part of the food we paid to be delivered to us. You have to get your own drinks in this place also. What's different is that, they have different appetizers such as fried buns, chicken feet, meat jelly, cold duck and etc...their flavors are more northern China flavors; which is a very nice change to what I'm used to. Good selection of meats and seasonings for broth. 2. The vegetable broth was superb. I added my herbs etc and it was delicious. 3. Appetizer bar was minimal and not that great. Fries and spring rolls were really greasy. Area needed some cleaning. 4. The spicy broths (beef /pork) my company got were very oily. Too oily. It was unappetizing. They charge for broth changes which is interesting.. 5. I wish there was a grill option with the hot pot like at other spots. Boiling only option felt limited but that's hot pot! 6. Service was okay, at times it felt you had to hunt someone down to ask questions or get things. But there was no rush even with the busy afternoon which was nice. I was able to make it in this Friday around 5pm with my partner (no wait!). The price is $32 per person currently, but you do need to pay extra for the soup base. We chose the 3 flavor pot ($20), and got the tomato, pork bone, and Liu's house special soup base mild. They also have an AYCD (all you can drink) option for $4 per person. This includes sodas, watermelon juice (pitcher), fruit tea (pitcher), plum juice, milk tea and maybe a few other options. Going back to the broths, we liked the tomato and pork bone but the Liu's house special soup base was pretty spicy, even for the mild level! We almost got the medium but thankfully didn't, HA! I got the duck pickle broth which is a bit sour at first, but after you add in the ingredients it gets absorbed by the animal after taste that is usually on the meat making the broth tastier. There are a lot more meat options that other ayce hotpot spots dont have. For example slice pork and beef from other parts of the cow. If you want fancier cuts like wagyu. You will have to pay extra. They also have a really sweet ice tea you can keep getting. Overall pretty good spot for the cold weather. For 2 people with 3 broths plus tax and tip bill was around 108$. So about 54$ per person. I came back after a couple of months and the quality of the food and especially the service went down. First, there was little to no service. We dined in for about two hours and they didn't refill our broth once. They didn't turn the fire on for us when we saw they turned it on for other tables. They never checked in on us. We came around 4-5pm and it was not busy, so I don't know what the excuse is. It took them 10 minutes to give us our checks and the workers hovered over us while we pressed the tip amount. Sometimes, they have a beef sauce that I like to use as a sauce base but it's not always available. There are also some fruits and sides like oranges, chicken feet, pickled vegetables, and more but the selection rotates. One thing is to be prepared to ask for the items you requested because they may miss an item or two. The first time I ordered lotus root, it didn't show up. I had to ask for it again and then the server brought it to me. I appreciate that there's a variety of meat and seafood dishes that you can order. At some AYCE places, you need to order the meat and seafood separately while the vegetables are AYCE. I usually get, beef, lamb, and tripe. They also have duck feet, for those who like to eat it. I thought I was past the point of AYCE hot pot in my life. It's usually pricey, with sub-par service and middling/lower-end quality foods. But I was happy to be proven wrong with Liuyishou. For an AYCE spot, almost everything was immaculate (nothing tasting like a carryover from days ago). At 11:30 AM Sunday, there was no wait. Our server checked on us often enough, and the food was always brought out in a timely fashion. The self-serve station was great (the wood-ear mushroom dish was refreshing, and all the sauces/accoutrements were flavorful. We didn't try too many different things, but I really enjoyed the Sliced New Zealand Lamb, the snakehead fillet, some kinda signature sliced beef (perfect ratio of fat to meat), and all the mushrooms. And of course we loved straight drinking our two soup bases (spicy lamb spine and duck with pickled radish). I first came here during covid when it was outdoor dining and in winter and also with a large group. Needless to say, that was not a pleasant experience even though they did their best to keep the area warm so our food wouldn't get cold as fast. Now that they have moved back to indoor dining with their normal stovetop tables, I can say that everything was fantastic! We got the spicy mala and herbal broth and both were great, as was all the items we ordered from the extensive menu. My friends wanted to go to an AYCE hot pot rather than a la carte ordering and we were surprised at how good everything was for the price; keep in mind, you do need to pay additional for the broth itself. There is also your typical sauce bar and some snack side items such as chicken feet and pickled cabbage and fruit/jelly for dessert. Best part is this area is kept super clean! Next to it is also a beverage area for water and free sweet tea! 10/10 would recommend if you are a carnivore with a hint of vegetarianism. One of my goto ayce hotpot places in flushing. Have been going for the past several years and would say that for ayce their broth taste and meat quality are superb! Also appreciate their recently expanded drinks/appetizer bar. Plus walking in for early dinner or late lunch (4-6) is super convenient and there normally isn't a wait thought it can get busier at later hours. Service is great, they recently switched to an ipad order system that has made it seem more streamlined and fast. Whenever you put in an order, the waiters/waitresses get a ping on their phone. With this, they are pretty speedy and rarely make mistakes. Food-wise, you generally can order a split hotpot (up to three) per ayce price at the table. Most items are included in ayce but they have some premium items that require extra $$. Appetizers/drinks- many appetizers at the bar that have included fried chicken, kimchi fried rice, pig ear. Drinks- cold passion fruit tea, orange juice, oolong tea. Very solid and respectable in its own right. Sauce bar- pretty diverse with my go-to's being the shacha and peanut sauce. Broth-We normally get the half Chongqing beef oil spicy flavor and half tomato base. The chongqing is on the spicier side and is authentic tasting. Came here with a group of three friends on the weekend as we were craving hotpot. Flushing is home to lots of ayce hotpot chains, and I felt like this one is above average compared to others. They do charge extra for the broth, which I found kinda strange. The meat and seafood here was quite fresh. They also have skewers included in the ayce, and some more premium dishes like wagyu beef provided with extra charge. Also, they have a ayce drink option as well per person, but please note it comes in a jug each time you order instead of a glass cup like other places. I liked that they had a more unique variety of drinks such as homemade milk tea and watermelon juice.
