Pointer and middle finger chipped after less than a week

My appointment was back in October but I'm writing the review now after consultation with my doctor. My nails chipped within less than half a week of my appointment for hard gel nails. However, the reason I'm writing the review is because I got contact dermatitis from my nails. Within the week of me getting my nails done at the salon for the first time (the only notable change in my routine) I started getting rashes on my face which spread to my neck and arms. In the beginning I thought it was eczema (I've never had eczema but I thought it was a change in weather) so I was just trying to find a way to treat it. These rashes lasted over two weeks and after recent follow up consultation with my doctor I think it's contact dermatitis from gel nails not being properly applied or cured. I usually don't leave reviews because of bad service but I think this can be a scary situation that even took me a while to find the root of.

I honestly never write reviews, but Nick and Dina absolutely deserve one. They are truly amazing. From the moment we walked in, they were so accommodating, gentle, and kind. Their attention to detail is incredible -- everything is done with such care, precision, and thoughtfulness. What really stood out to me was how sweet and patient they were with our baby, who we had with us during our appointment. Not once did we feel uncomfortable or rushed. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt relaxed and taken care of, which means so much as parents. If you're looking for a new nail salon, I highly recommend this place. Nick and Dina are talented, professional, and genuinely wonderful people. We won't be going anywhere else!

This is the first time I got my nails done other than regular polish and had the best experience! Got a gel-X design set done by Kenji and it looks so good. He was unsure if he could do the watercolor design I was asking for, and said he would do his best. Let me tell you, he absolutely killed it! He's so chill and fun to talk to as well. The staff there is so nice and accommodating. Definitely will come back after this set grows out!

I loved this place! I'm super picky about nail techs because most of them are too rough for me but Thai is the best. Super gentle and he works to make sure I get the color I want. Went back to him a second time and the service was even better!! Pics of both sets he did

I work in the hospital so never do my nails, but decided to treat myself to a gel set over the holidays since I was off for two weeks. Overall a good experience although my artist was unable to reproduce the nail art I requested (which was not particularly intricate); thus, the final product was completely different from what I had wanted. I noticed some of the other clients nearby had requested intricate designs which their artists were able to recreate with no issue, so I'm guessing it depends on the comfort level of each individual artist. Otherwise, the actual process and pricing was pretty standardized. I think if I come back next time, I'll share the design I want and request someone who could recreate it for me before making my appointment. read more

This is my absolute favorite place to get my nails done! I've visited so many other salons for designs however they ruined my nails. Happy nails is always able to fix my nails and make sure they are in pristine condition whilst still being glossy. They are also very fast yet they pay attention to every detail with nails like shaping. They ensure that you will love your nails and are able to do an excellent job in doing so. The only time I get my nails done at a different salon is when I'm not in the area or at my college town which is always upsetting for me because I hate trusting other salons with my nails. I highly recommend making an appointment in advance because they get booked fast and it's hard to do a walk in! read more

The worst manicure I have ever had in my life! I came December 31st 2023 to make my nails before New Year party. The male manicurist spent less than 6 min on my nails. Did very clumsy work. He did not even cut cuticulas around?! The paint on my nails looks like it was done by kindergarten "artist". It is defiantly NOT "happy nails". Please see my photo. Updated Review! Service: AMAZING! I have been going to Andy for 6 months now, and he NEVER disappoints. Sometimes I am able to schedule an appointment the day of (although do not rely on this as it was my mistake booking last minute) He always makes sure to ask if there is an example picture of what I want, any colors in mind, or if I want to cut/keep the length of my nails. I originally booked Andy for acrylic full sets; however, I switched to dip powder. Andy informed me that this is healthier for my nails as it makes them stronger and still gives the acrylic look as my natural nails are long. When you go in for fills for the dip powder Andy works pretty fast, in a relaxed way. He does not rush his work. You will always be greeted by a smile when you come in for your appointment with Andy. Environment: Each time I come into the salon it is always vibrant and upbeat as they play calming music and greet you as soon as you walk in. Overall: My love for this salon has only continued to grow. Andy has my nails looking brand new each visit. I have continued to come here since October 2019. I would not try another salon! I've had my nails done by Andy and Tammy here and they've both done an amazing job. I got Tammy the first time I was here and she was very gentle at removing my existing acrylic nails. She then recommended the gel dip powder after seeing how I'm not a fan of the acrylic removal process and she has done such an awesome job that I returned 2 weeks later to get a new set of gel dip (she recommeded 3 weeks but my nails grow really fast) Tammy was not working when I returned so Andy took care of me instead. He is very attentive and detailed in shaping my nails to be perfectly even. I can see he really loves what he does and takes it very seriously. read more

While the price is affordable, I will not come back due to sanitary issues & incorrect methods they use. We made appts for 12 pm and my nails were not started until 12:45 pm. My nail tech (Michelle) was very nice and she does nails well, however, she used the nail grinder tool to clean my cuticles. My cuticles HURT for hours after my nails were done and weeks after the appt, I still have cut up cuticles and scabbing from the blood (pictures attached). I wish I had known in the moment that this method is not okay; it should have been a cuticle cutter. Once I got to my car and quickly googled that I found: Grinders are made for shaping hard artificial or natural nail surfaces, not living skin. Using a high-speed rotating bit on the delicate cuticle and the nail bed can easily cause painful skin tears, deep friction burns, and severe infections. These aren't correct practices used by this salon; they are taking the easy route to get it done quickly. Would not recommend. I would give them 1 star but Yelp removes those reviews easily so that's why I'm putting 2-stars.

Happy Nails Campus absolutely crushed it! I took my girlfriend here for a Gel X set, and we were both blown away. The salon has such a relaxed, clean vibe, and Kenji--our nail tech--is seriously talented. He listened to my girlfriend's vision, kept the mood light with some fun banter, and delivered a design that looked straight off Pinterest. Her nails are still flawless weeks later, zero chips! The prices were way better than we expected for this level of quality. We've wasted money at fancier spots where the nails barely lasted a week, but here, you get artistry without the markup. Kenji was patient, walked her through aftercare, and never rushed. Just good vibes all around. If you're nearby, do yourself a favor and book with Kenji. The guy's a wizard with Gel X. HORRIBLE. Got a manicure and pedicure from this Happy Nails last week and TWO fingers on my right hand became so infected after. I've never had any issue like this before, and I'm outraged by it. I called them to tell them about the issue, they said they weren't responsible and that I didn't have proof and hung up. They obviously have dirty tools or don't sanitize their cuticle clippers or bowls. I'm angry that I trusted this establishment and even more upset about their reaction on the phone when I told them the news. I just had the most wonderful manicure here. Cassandra, the manicurist, and Vivienne, the manager, were both very upbeat and professional. The salon is clean and well lit. The toenail design wasn't exactly what I had asked for or what I showed in the reference photo, but it was close enough that I could live with it. However, after I got home, my fingers started to sting. I realized I had several small cuts around my cuticles and skin. It became clear that my skin had been nicked in multiple places during the manicure. During my appointment, the technicians were frequently on a video call and spent most of the time chatting with each other in Vietnamese. They would often stop working on my nails just to continue their conversations before resuming. Unfortunately, it felt like they weren't fully focused on my manicure, which may explain why I ended up with so many cuts on my fingers. To be fair, they were not rude at all. Everyone was friendly and polite, and I don't think anyone had bad intentions. I just wish there had been more attention to detail and more focus on the client during the service. I hope they improve because they seem like nice people.
