I made an appointment with Kenji and he is so nice & friendly!!! He is so funny and great a conversations. He is super gentle and his work was clean! Thanks for making me feel brand new!!!
My appointment was back in October but I'm writing the review now after consultation with my doctor. My nails chipped within less than half a week of my appointment for hard gel nails. However, the reason I'm writing the review is because I got contact dermatitis from my nails. Within the week of me getting my nails done at the salon for the first time (the only notable change in my routine) I started getting rashes on my face which spread to my neck and arms. In the beginning I thought it was eczema (I've never had eczema but I thought it was a change in weather) so I was just trying to find a way to treat it. These rashes lasted over two weeks and after recent follow up consultation with my doctor I think it's contact dermatitis from gel nails not being properly applied or cured. I usually don't leave reviews because of bad service but I think this can be a scary situation that even took me a while to find the root of.
I'm moving out of the area and am so sad to leave my nail technician Cassandra. She is the best and I am always satisfied with my nails done by her. Will miss going here to get my nails done!
I honestly never write reviews, but Nick and Dina absolutely deserve one. They are truly amazing. From the moment we walked in, they were so accommodating, gentle, and kind. Their attention to detail is incredible -- everything is done with such care, precision, and thoughtfulness. What really stood out to me was how sweet and patient they were with our baby, who we had with us during our appointment. Not once did we feel uncomfortable or rushed. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt relaxed and taken care of, which means so much as parents. If you're looking for a new nail salon, I highly recommend this place. Nick and Dina are talented, professional, and genuinely wonderful people. We won't be going anywhere else!
This is the first time I got my nails done other than regular polish and had the best experience! Got a gel-X design set done by Kenji and it looks so good. He was unsure if he could do the watercolor design I was asking for, and said he would do his best. Let me tell you, he absolutely killed it! He's so chill and fun to talk to as well. The staff there is so nice and accommodating. Definitely will come back after this set grows out!
this happy nails is so great!! they do an amazing job every time!! i have a bad habit of picking my nails so the gel x can come off easy. if one falls of, they replace it for free every time amazing service!! highly recommend!!

I come here couple of times and usually ask for Andy. His quality of work is very amazing. Today I had Tammy, she is amazing, very gentle and caring. Many times when I visit nail salons, nail artist are often not as gentle, but this time with Tammy I didn't feel a thing. She treated my nails with care and did a great job. read more

I took a chance and walked into this location hoping Nick (per yelp reviews) would be available for a full set of acrylic nails. Nick was booked, bummer. I needed to get my nails done and followed Tammy, who I believe is the owner of the location, over to my seat. Tammy worked on my acrylic full set while Connie worked on my feet. Nice work on my toes. Tammy did such an excellent job on my nails! She was personable, sweet and I enjoyed her conversation. Importantly, I LOVE how my nails came out! read more

I got my nails done by Nick and he does an amazing job! Tell him what you want and he'll know what to do! He double checks that your nails are even at least to him and if there's something bothering you just tell him and he'll fix it. Price for full set gel acrylics for me was $52. Worst customer service! 1. I was asked to choose the color even when I showed a picture which I usually do in other places. 2. I was asked to check the length of each and every nail. No other place does that. 3. I don't understand how can the cuticles be cleaned and cut without wetting the hand?! 4. I was treated poorly and yelled at even when I was all the time very polite although I was treated poorly. 5. The price was too expensive when the service is bad For reference, Nick is the one who did my nails. I've been coming here regularly for a couple months thanks to Nick, who does my dip manicure, and Julie who does my pedicures. They are both very detail-oriented and take pride in their work! What really sold me is that the first time I came in to get my dip nails done, Nick encouraged me to keep the natural shape of my nails instead of adding tips. My nails are longer now than they've ever been before and I feel like the dip powder isn't damaging! I can usually go (at least) 3 weeks without having to get a fill, and now my nails never lift or break off the way acrylics would. Ask for Nick and Julie when you book your appointment next time, you won't be disappointed :) read more

I now see Nick for my manicures (dip or gel) and Dina for pedicures and they are both masters at their craft. Dina helps keep me out of the podiatrist office with any ingrown toenails (thanks a lot thick nail beds) are starting to bother me. I've been coming here since I've moved down to Irvine! They are very nice and welcoming once you walk in and really easy to make an appointment. I always find myself coming back here because of how well my nails look and last! These are the most recent nails I've gotten done by Missi and design done by Kenji! Awful service. The man checking me in was very rude and yelling at me unprovoked. The woman who did my manicure did not completely soak off my previous gel and did not clean my cuticles or do anything that's part of a manicure. My nails were thick with 4 coats of gel, uneven shape, uneven length, streaks and bubbles, and missing polish on the sides of my nails. I even showed a photo of what I wanted and did not receive anything close to that at all. read more

I got a gel pedicure and manicure ($90) here ONE WEEK AGO and now I have an infected big toe and a gel manicure that has completely disintegrated. As a very busy young mom who took off work for some self care, I'm really bummed out that I spent my money on this. It seems like they need to figure out their sanitation techniques and throw away expired gel polish. Maybe spend a little more money and go somewhere else to avoid this. I will NEVER go back to this place. I did full arm waxing. Really bad experience. The lady that did the waxing had really poor technique - she even pulled in the wrong direction a few times. It was painful and I was worried that she will remove parts of my skin. There are still hairs left and I ended up with large red spots on my skin (see pictures). I have been doing arm waxing for several years and never have seen my skin like that. Also, she seemed annoyed that I was there only for waxing and that I had done my mani somewhere else. She was annoyed that she couldn't get more money from me. read more

Stopped by around 11am on a Tuesday and it was my very first visit to this nail salon. I went in already having 3 week old gel acrylics from a different salon asking for removal and a fresh gel manicure. It was a 30 min wait as all the technicians were busy and I did not make an appointment. In the meantime I chose a gel polish (which the selection was relatively small compared to others). As for the actual nail job I was pleasantly surprised! I was initially scared because removal of acrylics usually hurts but their was no pain at all!! Tammy soaked my nails several times to remove them and I did not feel a thing. For the gel I chose a light pink and you can see in the work she really took her time and made sure they came out great. The arent clumpy, thick or uneven and really liked the way they came out! Ended up paying $35 (that included a 20% off coupon) and left a $4 tip. read more

Infected & Swollen Cuticles I recently moved to this area & decided to try this Happy Nails out. I have been going to Happy Nails in other locations for the last 5 years & have always loved the way of their business. I went in wanting a SNS Dip Powder manicure. I was greeted by a man named Andy who claimed he had been doing dip powder manicures for over fifteen years. So, like anyone, my hopes were high. He was very sweet & I have no complains about him as a person. As he was buffing out my nails with the electric nail drill, I was in instant pain. He dug so far into my cuticles, I swear I almost got up & left mid-manicure. After seeing my fingers swell up & bleed, he proceeded to tell me I had "sensitive skin." Mind you, I have been regularly getting gel & dip powder manicures every 2-3 weeks for the last 5 years & this has NEVER happened. My fingers were so sore after, I actually cried on my way home. It is now the next day & every single finger is swollen & red to the point where I can't even run my hands under water because it's too painful. I love Happy Nails, but this was the worst manicure experience I've ever gone through. read more

This place was very clean and well kept and the people were friendly. I'm a bit picky when it comes to my nails and I think this place was okay. I got a full set and a pedicure and my total was $95. The pedicure was great, I liked how it came with a scrub and a massage! The lady was sweet too. The gentleman who did my nails didn't seem to quite understand what I was asking for at times, and my nails didn't turn out really how I wanted them, but they still look nice. I wanted a deeper French, but it seemed like he was only painting half of my nail and wiping the other half off, resulting in what looks to me like half painted nails rather than French. I could tell he put a lot of effort in though, so I don't hold it against him, but I don't necessarily think I'd get French again, maybe just a solid color. I do wish the price was a bit lower, since the work isn't the best and does seem a little rushed. read more
