If I could give Happy Thai more stars, I would. Happy Thai is the best Thai restaurant in Long Beach, I guarantee you. The food tastes incredible and the portions are very generous. The service makes the experience even better. Marrisa is an absolute angel! She is incredible, the food is incredible, everything is amazing. They have awesome customer service, we have been coming here for over 5 years, they once were Khun Dum Restaurant which was located right down the street. I went looking for Thai on my favorite app yelp. I found this place I've never tried and decided I give it a shot. I ordered food to go. The lady on the phone was patient and friendly and assisted me in choosing some great dishes. I order the basil mint leaves, orange chicken, veggie egg rolls, and shrimp fried rice. My girlfriend and I went to Happy Thai restaurant for dinner and it was amazing. Marissa our waitress was the most sweetest and most awesomeness waitress that we've ever had. I had a few questions about the menu and she was able to help us out quickly and with a good attitude. She gave us recommendations to help us make our choices. My wife and I were very happy with not only the food but also the service. My wife wanted very spicy papaya salad and I called the restaurant to make sure that we were not you average customer requesting a higher level of spicyness but we wanted beyond that level of spicyness. I was in town on business and saw that this was near my hotel and the ratings were very positive. This turned out to be the best Thai food I've ever tasted. Don't be turned off by the lack of decor and the fluorescent lighting. Here, all the focus is on the food, and rightfully so. Tom kha gai (coconut chicken soup) was delicious with brightness from Lime and lemongrass. Larb with ground pork stood out for its freshness and the vibrant punch of salt, sour, and spice. Drunken Noodles were so good I wanted a second order to take home. I would definitely return next time I'm in Long Beach. read more

I was looking for some Thai food around my area. This place was close to me. I called in my order nice lady on the phone said food should be ready in 10 mins and it's Cash Only, I didn't have a problem with it being CASH only since I always carry at least 50$ with me. I arrived to the place and found parking on a Monday evening right in front of the restaurant I'm from the area so I know it's hard to find parking, I'm not to sure if the restaurant has reserved parking spots. I got inside and the place looked very clean, a couple people sitting enjoying their meals. I went up to the counter and a lady greeted me for some reason she new I was the call in order. I got my food nice and hot and DELICIOUS! I'm sitting here at work looking at the empty plate wondering what took me so long to try out this Thai spot. This place has no sign or name outside, and the only reason I found out about it is because it's been added to Yelp recently. I just had the orange chicken with some sticky rice and my friend got the pad see ew. Everything was very good, and the people working there are the nicest. Someone on yelp complained about the food quantity, so yes it is less than the usual in America, but this is what a "normal" meal is supposed to be. I favor quality over quantity. Happy Thai Restaurant was formally Khun Dom and was located right down the street. I totally love their food, my favorite are Pad See Ew, Wong Tong Soup, Fried Rice and their Pot Stickers are so yummy! I'm pretty much a regular here, Marisa is so friendly love her service :) read more

My boyfriend brought me to this place when I was pregnant & I was iffy about it because everything made me very nauseous during those time but I loved it! He used to go to their old location & loves it at well. Now we have a 9mo baby & go very often & the boys love their chicken lemon soup w/ white rice & I love my beef salad! This is our family restaurant my husband loves coming here. Affordable and good love their seafood soup has a taste no other Thai restaurant according to my hubby and my kiddos don't get me wrong I like it too I just don't like the drive. We were looking for a local Thai place that was open past 9 pm and we were very excited that happy Thai was still open! We had their green curry tofu and tofu phad Thai! I have been coming to this restaurant for several weeks now and have yet to be disappointed. The food is tasty and the ingredients are fresh. I can tell that everything is made from scratch which is a nice change from places that serve dishes out of the box or straight from the can. Most of all I really appreciate that the staff ensures that the restaurant is impeccably clean. I've never seen dirty floors and the tables are always set. Fast, friendly service. I call this place asking Thai chicken noodle soup and the girl replied Tum yum I said yes Che asked if I want seafood I said no and I replied chicken with noodles, she asked if I want rice I said no rice with noodles only, she asked if I want spicy I replied not too spicy, so here I drive 7 miles to pickup my food, finally I get there my soup is ready she asked don't you want rice? I said I do not eat rice is there noodle? She replied no but we can make you some side order. I look at here and ok so they got the noodle ready I got the bill for $14.60 plus tip that was an expensive chicken soup for a place not so fancy but it was clean, so I take the soup home open the cardboard container smelled delicious tasted very salty and few pieces boiled chicken, what I am saying is that if you want return customers you better give them food that tastes as good smells, and don't rip off customers after they gave their order that we need to charge you extra! read more
