I absolutely loved this pub. It had such a homey feel to it and the staff was very sweet and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and it's right near the harbor(hence the name)! So you can see boats and such docked near by. It was pretty crowded for Christmas and the staff was all dressed in Christmas attire it was so cute! Their pizza dough is made in house and they are known for this! Their dough and sauce is made fresh daily, and they used garden picked veggies. You could definitely taste the difference! This was one of the best pieces of pies I've ever had! And I'm from Vegas so that's saying a lot with all the spots I've tried! This place can be hard to find and it's nestled in a corner but do not sleep on it! You will not be disappointed. 1st visit here. Initial impression, it smelled horrible inside. We waited 1 1/2 hours, yes, 90 minutes for a medium pizza! Our waitress came by & apologized several times but spent lots of time & attention to the younger patrons. She gave us a free basket of potato chips b/c of the wait. I had a hamburger, brought out 15-20 minutes before my companions, so it sat there & got cold. Yes, it was my choice to wait to eat with my friends but the burger wasn't all that good anyway. Issue with a bartender; I believe his name was Fred. Despite his advanced age, he presented like a juvenile idiot. Sitting at the bar, I watched him call patrons, distant as they walked by, derogatory names, inaudible to them. Then, after calling him out on drinking surplus mixes, he called me weirdo. I wanted to leave him without a tip, but I did have other bartenders serving me prior. Leaving something, he called me "grease bump", which I took as not enough. 600th review for the Harbor Pub by yours truly, today. My husband and I walked over to Harbor Pub from the Ala Moana Shopping Center from Signature Steakhouse and Seafood's after happy hour one night (see previous review) because we were still hungry after eating small plates of rich, decadent food. We also walked to Harbor Pub because we hate parking at Ala Wai Harbor (see my other review about parking at this atrocious place). Harbor Pub supposedly has parking but I don't have experience with it, which is fine, because the walk was short. Funny side-story about Signature Steakhouse and Happy Hour: I was going to take one of my best friends for her birthday to Signature but something told me not to because she tends to invite other un-invited people with her, or just flakes out on the day of the event. She proved me right...again! She wanted to bring some girl I do not even know, for a birthday breakfast date this morning. So why am I writing this? I would let my flaky friend bring along whomever she wanted to the Harbor Pub! Harbor Pub serves breakfast starting at 7 AM, but I suddenly came down with a slightly sore throat that may or may not be contagious. Harbor Pub is a dive bar that serves food. Pizza, specifically. Which takes an hour to come out. It was pretty edible, I guess. Mai Tais were super sweet, like diabetes in a cup. Service was pretty nice, but slow. Bathroom was pretty ghetto, but who comes here for the toilet? Decor was left over from Christmas, and it's February now - but who am I to talk because I leave Halloween stuff out all year 'round in the house. This is not the kind of place you bring your boss for business meetings, this is the kind of place you come to in order to hang out with people dressed in shorts and beach wear, or chat with strangers, or hang out with the flakiest of friends. If they don't show up at the last minute, you can always find someone to talk to at this bar! The atmosphere is definitely flaky - there's nothing about commitment or planning here at the Harbor Pub; it's an overall easy hangout kind of place with no agenda, no plan, no rush, no urgency. If you're pressed for time I'd advise against coming here or complaining about it, because I have warned you! I do not eat pizza but they had lasagna w/ garlic bread and choice of salad or soup--my lasagna was awesome!! The others 7 in my party ordered pizzas and they all had the best compliments for their pizzas. Our waitress was awesome too--her name is Deanna!!! The bar manager Jay is incredibly rude to his customers. The moment we sat down, he was rude. We sat at his bar until a table became available. When the table was available, I asked Jay if he wanted to cash us out so he could get credit. He rudely said "just tip me then" and I did because I'm nice. I could've just moved tables and not even cared about helping him close out. He certainly didn't deserve a tip. An hour later, still no food so I followed up nicely to make sure the food order didn't accidentally get messed up from table transfer. Jay's response was very rude to me and he actually cussed me out, called me "bitch" in front of many customers. Never ever in my life, especially as a woman have I ever been cussed out by a bartender/server especially one that I tipped generously. I felt bullied and absolutely mortified by this. Jay is a busted up, old loser resembling a high school drop out who probably worked this same crappy bar for the last 50 years. He's a miserable pos who takes out it out on customers, but somehow he's a bar manager. In addition to Jay's rude service, Harbor Pub smells worse than a sewer and I truly question its cleanliness. We ordered a burger and a pizza but I'd lost my appetite already from the sewer smell and Jay cursing at me. Both items tasted disgusting and microwave dinners would've been 10x tastier. I absolutely loved this place. Perfect pub atmosphere with a really bright view of the marina nearby! The bar had tons of seating, but the tables were mostly booths, which made them more comfortable in my opinion. Quite a variety of seating! The menu was a smidge pricey for some of the items, so we settled on the pepperoni pizza because we'd had a full day of activity, and nothing hits better than pizza and booze after a long day with family! Happy hour prices were definitely nice, but to realize those were their "discount" prices for dinner, makes me want to wait to come back than come in more often. The drinks were great, but the pizza was just good. Not the best, but definitely not the worst! Our server was super sweet, and very attentive. Saturday night, we tried to do take out cuz had the baby and didn't want to bring her to a noisy pub when she was supposed to be sleeping. They told me no take out! That was crap. The crust was solid. Almost knock someone out solid - but I like that better than being limp and all the toppings falling off. Just my personal preference. Caesar Salad - Typical. Nothing special. Hit the spot since I wanted fresh veggies. Beef and Bean Nacholada - Nice to have it dippable so the chips don't get all soggy. Tasted pretty good. Actually was better as leftovers. As it was a later meetup, we decided on Harbor where happy hour goes on until 7pm. Worked well for our schedule as we got there closer to 630pm. Beer sold by the mug, larger mug, and pitcher; Fresh and refreshing, happy hour discounted and on draft! Parking is easy and easily accessed on Hobron. With validation, parking fee is only $5 for four hours. Otherwise, you can also park at the meters nearby or the boat harbor, many times for free. Get yourself down to Harbor Pub. We loved this off the beaten path spot so much we visited twice in our quick 3-day Oahu trip. When we landed late and hungry on a Saturday night, we spotted this low-key basement pub and decided to grab a few beers and a pizza. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that the pizza (we got half red sauce tomato & basil and other half white sauce bianca) was one of the best we've maybe ever had. No joke. Great location and out of the way, if you did not know it you might walk right by ... but don't because it is a nice "hole in the wall" place. The service is friendly and spot on. They are welcoming and attentive to the right degree...not overly pushy but they see. To know when to stop by and check in with you without having to look for them. I sat up at the bar and enjoyed to ability to look out the street level windows and relax. I have to admit they had the best nachos I have had so far in Honolulu so I walked away full and satisfied. Our party was seated quickly despite how busy it was and we ended up in a small booth/nook. The decor was very festive and there was nice live music on Monday evening. We went at 6:00 for dinner. We were seated at what is unquestionable the worst seat in the house. It was right beside the kitchen and where the wait staff pick up orders and also empty leftovers on the plates into the garbage can that is only a few feet from our table. Ew! We each ordered a glass of wine from the happy hour and waited and waited for our pizza. Finally after 40 minutes we asked how much longer we would have to wait for our pizza. Our waitress said that our order was the next one up and we should have it shortly. After waiting another 20 minutes we asked our waitress to cancel the order for the pizza. We paid for our drinks and left. We waited over 1 hour and did not receive our order. One hour sitting right where leftovers are emptied into the garbage. What a waste of time. read more

I'll start with what I love about this place--they have the best pizza I've eaten on the island. Unfortunately sometimes it isn't their best--since July we've had great oizzas--our fave is the BBQ chicken but the meat combo-the mushroom- the others are all good but we have had a few that were not to their standard. One was burnt--one was undercooked--and one missed an ingredient. We didn't complain during those times-because we were mostly surprised. The location is convenient also so it's a plus. The staff are friendly enough too. Here is what I don't like but it's not enough to keep me away for beer and pizza lunch or dinner. If you don't get seated by the windows towards the back it is very dark. I think the regulars seem to like this. In the dark booths they feel a bit sticky and there are tiny gnats that hang out there...it's not the only barflies there either. I did complain about the flies but it seemed like nobody else noticed them. Never seen any sitting in the sunny areas of the bar. Also those sitting in the dark seem to be there to talk stink about their boss, coworkers, contractors, ex wife, politicians, government. I say so because they are all a bit loud (or deaf or drunk). So who should go here? For a pleasant lunch or dinner get seated by the windows. For old sea salts--belly up to the bar. For pau hana or pitcher of beer at lunch playing hooky sit in the dark--nobody will see you. read more

My friend and I got together for brunch and ate here per his suggestion. It's a hole in the wall as many other reviews suggest but I thought it would be a good one. It was sad. I ordered coffee and biscuits/gravy. My mouth was watering for some biscuits and and gravy thinking about it as I don't typically see it available in Hawaii. The coffee was decent but took the server 10 minutes to bring me cream. My biscuits and gravy were not good at all. It was three half biscuits covered in a nasty gravy with some sausage pieces. It's like seriously, three half biscuits? Because three whole biscuits costs too much for the $9.95 meal? My friend had a $9.95 biscuit sandwich which didn't fill up his big toe, so he ordered the $9.95 biscuits and gravy against my advice. We left this place asking ourselves if we really spent that much money on a crappy breakfast. It appears happy hour is the highlight of this place as the alcohol prices were good and you can't go wrong with a bottle or draft beer. This is a bar, not a restaurant. It's also an indoor restaurant without social distancing. Fortunately, we were spaced at a table away from others but some were 2'-3' away. A friend of mine introduced me to this place. Well he was the one that got me to keep coming back. Been here prior to him mentioning it but nothing stood out and I was never inclined to revisit. Harbor Pub & Pizza is below Chart House in Waikiki. You can pay to park on the street or in one of the lots in the area. The place is old and a dive bar so not really my scene. How did he convince me to come? He sold me on the Mai Tai's here. This isn't a drink I would normally order but he was raving about it and I'm glad I tried it. I would come back just for their Mai Tai's! After a few visits of just coming for Mai Tai's he told me they have legit pizza so we ordered one. Be warned, it takes awhile to get it so make sure to order it when you get there. The two I personally like is their Harbor Combo and Paniolo All Meat Combo. The crust is crispy and the toppings are full of flavor. So why only 3 stars? The ambiance is still a dive bar and customer service here is sub par at times. Will this stop me from coming back? No, I will still come back for their Mai Tai's and pizza. Worth checking out and it's good to support local at this time. read more
