The service department is a joke. Jesse and Sean are rude and have absolutely no customer service skills. They are sarcastic, dismissive, and leave customers waiting all day with little to no updates. They will tell you the service will only take a couple of hours, but expect it to take much longer. This dealership only seems interested in being civil when they are trying to sell you a lemon. Once there is a problem, accountability disappears. They constantly use phrases like, "We can't find anything wrong," then backtrack and say, "We are not saying nothing is wrong; we just can't find it." That is not reassuring when customers are paying for diagnostic services. What is even more frustrating is that they have to call GM because their mechanics cannot figure out the diagnosis themselves and instead rely on GM to tell them what to do. Even after that, they still cannot confirm whether the repair will actually fix the issue. It feels like they avoid making a diagnosis so they do not have to take responsibility for a misdiagnosis. I asked Sean why I was being charged a $140 diagnostic fee if GM was the one telling them what to do. His response was, "Are you telling us how to do our job?" No, I am saying customers should not have to pay for a diagnosis that your service department could not make on its own. Both Sean and Jesse were snappy, rude, and argumentative, even with their own mechanics. They openly went back and forth with employees in front of customers, which was completely unprofessional from start to finish. Update in response to the dealership's comment: The response is honestly comical and only reinforces the concerns I originally raised. They claim they "strive to maintain a high standard of customer service," yet they never specifically mention who I should contact regarding my concerns only a vague "contact us," which means very little in a dealership with hundreds of employees. Over a week ago, I requested that Giovanni, the dealership manager, contact me directly. I personally spoke with multiple employees who said they would make him aware of the situation. So either none of those employees actually informed him, or he simply did not care enough to address my concerns. At this point, the dealership's response seems more focused on looking good publicly on Yelp than genuinely resolving customer issues. If there had been any real desire to address the situation, someone would have contacted me by now. Unfortunately, I'm back at the dealership again today, expecting to spend another full day waiting to see whether they can finally fix the issue with my car. Love that for me. read more

I purchased a 2024 Hummer EV Edition 1 from your dealership. Recently, I reached out for help troubleshooting what appears to be a defective charger that came with the vehicle--it wouldn't get ready for charging, showing an amber LED instead of the blue. The service advisor, Jeff, instructed me to bring in both the charger and the car. Frankly, I couldn't understand why the car itself was needed, since it charges perfectly fine with my Porsche charger and at every public station I've tried. But I respected GMC's protocol and didn't argue. What happened next was truly disappointing and unacceptable. When I asked Jeff whether I'd need to leave my car at Hardin while they figured things out with GM--which, according to him, could take "a couple days or so"--he said yes. So, I politely asked if I could get a loaner car to cover my business needs. Jeff flatly replied he "couldn't guarantee" one. Trying to be reasonable, I then asked if he could at least help me schedule a day when a loaner would be available, so I wouldn't be left stranded. He curtly said I'd have to go on a waiting list and wait for a call. That was it It is completely unacceptable that a customer who purchased a $120K vehicle is told to "just wait" and hope for the best. I have owned many cars in my life--from Honda to Ferrari--and never have I encountered this level of unwillingness to help from a dealership's service department. Jeff mentioned that GMC Tustin has an on-site Enterprise rental partnership, but Hardin does not. Frankly, that is not the customer's problem. I wasn't even demanding an immediate loaner; I was simply asking for the basic courtesy of scheduling service for a day when a loaner would be guaranteed. Instead, I got a cold "no." I called Hardin at 11 a.m. today. It is now 10:09 p.m., and I have received zero follow-up. I'm certain I won't hear back until Monday at the earliest--if at all. Frustrated, I called Laguna Niguel GMC and made a service reservation there with a loaner guranteed on this Tuesday instead--without any hassle. For the record, I truly love my Hummer EV. I was even planning to purchase another one in orange for my wife in January 2026. But after this experience, I will absolutely rule out Hardin GMC. This is not the level of service anyone should expect from a dealership selling six-figure vehicles. And it is certainly not the experience loyal GM customers deserve. read more

Hands Down the Worst Dealership Experience I've Ever Had... My experience at Hardin Buick GMC was beyond unprofessional -- it was flat-out disrespectful from start to finish. The sales rep, a woman, didn't even acknowledge that my wife and I were purchasing a vehicle for our business, and I literally had to force her to include my wife in the conversation. That alone should have been a red flag. But I still showed up ready to buy. I had a written deal from another dealership, but Hardin had the exact truck I wanted at a slightly lower price. All we needed was to get the final number under $100k for business qualification -- we were only $1,700 away. Instead of even attempting to work with us, they refused to look at anything. No effort. No discussion. Just a cold, automatic "no." Then came the sales manager, Sergio -- and in my experience, he took the situation from bad to unbelievable. He looked me in the face and said -- and I am quoting from my interaction -- "If you don't want to talk to my sales rep, then you don't have to buy the car here. We don't need your business." I then called to speak with the general manager, Giovanni, hoping someone higher up would show professionalism. He wasn't available, so I spoke with Bruce, who said he had been with the dealership a long time. He asked me to meet him outside to explain the situation -- which I appreciated -- until he walked me right back to Sergio, where the same disrespect and dismissive attitude immediately started again. And to top it all off, while this was happening, the original sales rep stood about 50 feet away, staring, yelling things toward us, and literally laughing at us. That behavior alone speaks volumes about the toxic culture inside this dealership. At that point, it was crystal clear that customer service, professionalism, and basic respect are not priorities at Hardin Buick GMC. This was one of the most hostile and unprofessional dealership experiences I've ever had. If you're buying fleet vehicles for your business, do yourself a favor and go to Costa Mesa GMC or Dutton GMC. Stay far, far away from Hardin Buick GMC. read more

My experience with Hardin GMC was extremely disappointing and far below the level of professionalism expected from a dealership representing a major brand. Communication was poor, follow-up was inconsistent, and I felt completely disregarded as a customer. Jesse Negrete was the service consultant I dealt with, and after dropping my car off for service it became extremely difficult to get ahold of him for updates or information. However, communication suddenly became available when it was time to pay in order to get my vehicle released, which was very frustrating. To make matters worse, I was charged simply to run diagnostic codes on my vehicle, yet the major issue I originally brought the car in for was never properly fixed. Paying for a service that did not resolve the primary problem is unacceptable and shows a lack of accountability and quality control. Throughout the process, it felt less like customer care and more like the dealership was focused on pushing charges, chasing sales commission, or trying to meet monthly quotas rather than actually resolving the customer's concerns. That kind of experience leaves customers feeling taken advantage of instead of valued. What stood out the most was the lack of respect for my time and concerns. When customers trust a dealership with their vehicle, they expect transparency, clear explanations, and effective repairs -- none of which were delivered in my situation. I am leaving this review to hold Hardin GMC accountable and to inform others of my experience. I strongly encourage management to reevaluate their customer service standards, diagnostic practices, and overall communication because what I experienced does not reflect the level of service customers deserve. Honestly a disappointing experience. The Sales Experience: I bought a used car from them. They sell themselves as this ethical dealer that is very caring, but the reality is they use all of the same tactics to sell you a car as any other dealer. They leave you sitting in the dealership, waiting for **no reason.** They will tell you the finance person is with another client, but then you will watch the finance person you end up with walking back and forth in the dealership, leisurely chatting with other people and then ultimately after the feel like you've reached your breaking point and you threaten to walk away they will take you into the finance office and encourage you to rush through the contracts. The finance office: was, whatever. They absolutely rushed us, and our credit union (the one that was supposed to be a "partner" actually reached out to us AFTER THE TRANSACTION to tell us they offered us a lower rate than the dealer quoted, and our payment went down. I cannot imagine all banks are that ethical, so they didn't even offer us the best rate the bank had. The Car: They do not inspect used cars well and they will charge you the DMV fees for the entire time they held the car, plus make you responsible for the upcoming registration. The car has needed 3 repairs since I purchased it. One was on the due bill so they had to repair it. one was an existing recall they sat on for the months they held the car, and one was something I should have tested and didn't. (that's on me, but this would have been easily caught during any basic inspection, I was just too excited about buying the car. The Service: They are liars! We bought the fancy car security system they told us was essentially mandatory because it was already installed on the car from the dealer. The car we purchased needed a repair, and we had them put it on the due bill. I didn't want to take delivery on the car until the repair was completed (and I shouldn't have. Or I should have just left.) but they convinced me to take the vehicle. I spent 2 weeks chasing after them, with them telling me there was only one guy at their shop. I finally called, told them it was on the due bill and they were in breach of contract and suddenly the guy is available next day. WELL come to find out, thanks to the security system that locks the car down and tracks it's location, they are not repairing it at the dealer, they have taken it to a German repair shop. WHICH WAS FINE, AND HONESTLY APPRECIATED, but when I asked the guy about where the car was repaired he said at the dealer! The car was not at a shop for 5 hours to pick up a part. Don't buy a car here, certainly don't buy a used car here. These guys are wolves in sheep's clothing, and they will assume you are a moron, and when you email them to ask them questions, like please explain why 2 months ago I paid a 300.00 registration fee and now I have to pay another 300.00 registration fee from the DMV Denise the person in charge of DMV will ghost you without explanation, and you will end up paying both registration fees to make sure you aren't penalized by the state of California. Stopped in today to look at a used car. It had a dent on the passenger side quarter panel and scuffed up front rims. They told me it was a fleet car for the dealership. I'm assuming the person that drove it didn't know how to drive because the car was loaded and had sensors everywhere. They wanted roughly 27k out the door. I offered them 26k. They said no three times. Woody, the salesman wasn't bad but the sales manager does not know how to sell a car or handle customers. To turn a customer away over $1000 is ridiculous. I own three businesses myself, If I was the owner, I'd fire the guy in a heartbeat. I don't recommend them and I will never buy a car from them. I bought many many many many cars in my lifetime and that was the worst experience I've ever dealt with was not like I was trying to lowball them. This place needs to find a new finance manager! I went in for a used SUV. I absolutely fell in love with the car. I went in with the approval from our credit union ready to go. Once I saw the out the door price and saw the dealer add ons it added an additional $2,200. Since I had been car shopping already I know they can remove them, but they refused. They gave me two options no negotiating with the add ons and use my credit union or they would be willing to negotiate if I financed thru them. I ended up leaving. I read in a previous review that there was a digital license add on they were able to remove. This was the same thing they told me so it's all a tactic. I hope the dealer's owner sees how much the business the financing manager is losing for the sales team. read more
