I was invited by a friend to try Harry's Restaurant for breakfast so we could catch up on life, and this was my first time visiting. Overall, it was a really nice experience. I ordered the build your own omelette with tomatoes, cheese, peppers, grilled chicken, and spinach. It came out hot, well seasoned, and cooked just right. It was very satisfying, especially the grilled chicken which was very tender and juicy. On the side, I had a biscuit and cheesy grits. The biscuit was soft and absolutely moist, and the grits were creamy with a good amount of cheese. My friend ordered the spicy fried chicken plate with a biscuit and also tried the sausage gravy bowl. I had a taste, and everything was flavorful but the chicken really wasn't that spicy at all. You can taste the spice, but it really didn't give a kick. The orange juice was absolutely fresh, which I really appreciated, it definitely stood out. Add ice thank me later that's just me. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the raspberry jelly, but that's just personal preference since I'm more of a grape jelly person. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance stood out immediately. They have a beautiful patio if you're into outdoor vibes, definitely a great spot for conversations , relax, and enjoy a slow morning with good company. Overall, I'd definitely come back. For a first timer, this is a great spot for a laid back meal with good food and even better vibes.
I loved everything about this place except the wait you can't make reservations in advance! Our wait was almost an hour but well worth it!! Once seated, it didn't take for our waiter to come over and take our drink order. That frozen passion was delicious and just enough to start the day! After, we ordered our breakfast. That pancake omelet was chefs kissssss it was STUFFED!! The service was great, very attentive waiter! The restaurant was very clean as well! 1000/10
We made online reservations before going there and it was more than an hour before we got our table. The place was packed and had lines waiting outside the restaurant. It's a beautifully decorated place with bright colors that make you feel good. We ordered their Larissa plate, eggs Benedict, regular French toast, baklava French toast and some drinks. Everything tasted great but the best was their Baklava French Toast! What a great twist to the regular French toast. The server was good and very knowledgeable about the menu. When we complimented him about it, he said they have to go through a test to prepare themselves, which we've not heard of before. The owner of the restaurant was a really nice old man who was walking around the place, greeting all his customers and having a smile throughout. I would definitely be back here again!
If you have a group, get on the wait list before you arrive and ensure your party is complete once you check in. If two or more at the table drink mimosas, I recommend ordering the full carafe. You cannot go wrong with any of the food options and if you want to try different options, the portions are huge so sharing is caring. Harry's Restaurant is know for their bread which is thick and fluffy. Personally, I think the best way to eat the bread is have them slice it in half and toasted. As for the Spicy, Honey glazed chicken, go for an extra bit of crispiness, it will not disappoint. It gets a bit chilly on the inside so bring a light jacket or sweater just in case.
My waffles and spicy chicken were delicious. The chicken sausage and pancakes were good as well. The wait time was only 10 minutes and a great option to other restaurants in the same area. Service was quick and efficient. The tables are nicely spaced but was so hard to have a conversation. Adequate free parking adjacent to the restaurant.
I've been here twice. The first time was a while back where I had the chicken and waffles. It was solid but a little pricey at $18. This time I came back with a group of people and had the baklava french toast, $15. Also tasty, but just didn't live up to my expectations. Overall the service is good, the food is solid, but the prices are a little high for my tastes. Props for keeping my water glass refilled, and all the other people I was with seem pretty happy with their food and service. Depending when you come, this place can get pretty crowded. I recommend weekday mornings if you don't want to have to wait. Harry's is also a great place if you want to run into someone In the world of Houston politics at breakfast.
Stopped by Harry's with a group of friends, and we made sure to join the waitlist before arriving, so we didn't have to wait long to be seated. I ordered the Chicken & Waffles, and they were very good -- the chicken was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the waffle was nice and fluffy. I also tried my friend's chilaquiles divorciados, and those were delicious too. The sauce had amazing flavor. Overall, I can definitely see why this place has such long wait times -- it's absolutely worth the hype.
don't let harry's fool you! it's always busy.. but why?!? after seeing the parking lot constantly packed and it always looking busy, i finally decided to see what the "hype" was all about. and it was definitely just hype. the server was really really nice and that is the only reason i gave 2 stars-- i wish i could remember her name! the hostess, an older woman.. was more of a warden and less of a hostess. she was not friendly at all. as she walked back and forth in the dining room, i did not see her smile once (not that i needed to see everyone bearing teeth in joy...but lighten up!). i also felt like she was overseeing what drinks were brought to our table... i only ordered two espresso martinis, and there was still a third of my first one in my glass when the hostess ran over to my table to remove my first glass because a second glass was dropped off.. and why would a hostess be overseeing what is going on at the tables? that is well beyond the scope of a hostess. i assume this "protocol comes" from ppl i guess taking dipping containers or something.. there are signs on the door spotlighting that behavior as "stealing". in addition to a warden-esque hostess, the food was boring AF. the flavors were flat and if a restaurant can't get a hollandaise sauce correct.. why would one ever return?! now, please take this review with a grain of salt. this may have been a horrible day for harry's, and they very well maybe, the best place in midtown for brunch... but i will not be returning. dining out is far too expensive to patronize businesses that do not make me feel accommodated or welcome. if you decide to visit harry's, i hope that you have a more pleasant and welcoming experience! bonne appétit
Enjoyed brunch with the girls! Service waa quick but you do have to wait for your entrie party just fyi. We had margaritas and mimosas. For entrees I got the spicy fried chicken with a biscuit and hash browns. The waiter suggested I got my biscuit grilled and it was PERFECT. Others at the table were the perfect combo with French toast and home fries and the spicy fried chicken and kale. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our waiter was the best! We will all be back again to try some more highly recommended dishes.
Mid. I live in Mexico and honestly food is better over there, fresher ingredients, vibes etc. Sysco + US foods provides lowest grade food for every single restaurant in America, and guess what? It all tastes bad. Maybe my standards are raised because Mexico buys from local farms (what the norm should be), but here ? I expected to get cherry tomato's for my eggs... bro. It was pico chopped tomato's... literally so gross. Then they accidentally put another customers plate in front of me and I almost walked out cuz I thought it was mine...it looked so disgusting. Skirt steak? DONT GET IT. Belongs on boots in Cavenders. The server was nice but not too fast with service. Anyways, do what you will but America and corporations need to do better.
Harry didn't meet Sally, it met Cabo. We had a wonderful experience at Harry's. The ambiance, lighting, decor, textures, and bar area were all exceptionally well done. For our meal, we had the American Filet, crab cakes, filet tacos, and seasonal vegetables. The bread with rosemary to start was heavenly, and the dipping sauce for the steak was light and delicious on our veggies. For dessert, we considered the chocolate lava, carrot cake, Harry's cake, and homemade ice cream, which all looked decadent. We were then pleasantly surprised with well-presented cotton candy at the end of the meal. Luis and Danny were the dynamic duo team. Their service was 5 star! I have been coming to Cabo for over 30 years. It is a delight to see so many new places popping up. I do miss much of old Cabo but there is no going back so trying fun, new places brings a since of freshness to a very familiar place.

Had the chicken and waffles like I always do everywhere and they were pretty good. Not the best I've had but they were tasty, our server was Donnelley and she was honestly the best! Made sure we were good, she was engaging, and just an overall good time! Fresh squeezed OJ is always a good choice. Overall would come back, had a good experience! read more

Our waitress was very friendly and explained menu items. I tried the Baklava french toast and the spicy chicken breakfast platter. The spicy chicken thighs were extremely tender and were quite flavorful. The Baklava French toast was a delightful combination and was worth every penny! They top the French toast off with a Greek yougurt/ice cream and honey it is everything you didn't know you needed. I did get my ice cream on the side, and I'm glad I did. Otherwise, it would have been too sweet, but other than that, I don't think you'll go wrong eating here. Oh I almost forgot, the HOMEMADE BISCUIT, honey order extras of that!! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for MONTHS but never got the chance. I finally was able to see what the hype was about. The service was quick and friendly, there was like 3 people that would approach our table for different needs. Special thanks to Andrea, our server who was sweet and helpful. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Breakfast, it seemed like it was dark meat, which isn't particularly my favorite but the flavor of the honey glaze on the chicken really complimented the spice of the chicken. So it was easily looked past. The 2 pieces of meat were more than filling alongside the eggs (which seemed to have some sweetness to them) and side. This is going to be a favorite go-to. They have a really great menu to select from with a lot of variety from American-style, Greek and Latin options. They homemake the butter, biscuits, jams, etc and you can definitely taste the difference. We got the chilaquiles and the fried chicken and biscuit. Highly recommend both! read more
A cute restaurant with a reasonable wait time yet packed parking lot. The Larissa plate definitely exceeded my expectations and it's something I'd get again and recommend. I decided to try a breakfast taco as well but even with the sauce they provide on the side I thought it was underwhelming. I just got the basic egg and cheese with sausage and potatoes but it was bland. On an unrelated note the water cups they provide are teeny tiny and about 90% ice which is annoying. read more

This was our first time trying this place out and we were pleasantly surprised. We had great service and only waited about 5 minutes to be seated, and it was a full house. The food was delicious. I had chilaquiles divorciados and my 9 year old son had the French toast, He said it was "bomb" so we will definitely be back. read more

What can I say besides amazing. All of the staff were so pleasant. I ordered the spicy chicken and waffles. When I say I have never had a waffle so light and fluffy at the same damn time. It melted in your mouth. It was magic. And the chicken thighs were pure perfection. You could cut it with a fork. This was hands down one of the best things I've ever eaten read more

Went to Harry's on a Saturday late morning... 40 min wait for 3 people. I wouldn't recommend this to other dairy-free brunch-lovers as there were not many DF options. I ordered the chilaquiles divorciados because that's what the waitress recommended but it came out with cream and cheese on top. The owner seemed bothered when he came to table to clarify that it was supposed to be DF. The waitress was so kind and the quality of food was good. I would recommend but probably won't return myself. read more

Harry's was a nice little treat! I wasn't expecting much and quite honestly, I'm glad I set didn't my expectations high because I was highly impressed. This is a classic American breakfast restaurant which also has a few Greek spins on some entrees. I was torn between the shrimp omelet and the Greek omelet, so I took our server's suggestion and ordered the shrimp omelet. Omg, that was a wonderful choice. My guy choose a classic choice of the chicken fried steak breakfast plate. I ordered a mimosa and he, a coffee. Everything was bountiful and delicious; however, the potatoes--while cooked perfectly--were on the bland side. A little salt and pepper added made them better. The service wasn't good. Waiter brought food with no condiments. When we ask for condiments, we was made to feel like we were inconveniencing the waiter. They brought us old ketchup, possibly from Chick-fil-A or somewhere and I gave it back informing the waiter the ketchup is really really dark and old and she's just kinda looked at us. My first time eating at this place was very mid I got the Chicken thighs with eggs and the hash brown with toast. 4/10 the chicken thighs skin was falling off meat tasted slimy. The scrambled eggs was under cooked. The toast was hard and cold. The food had absolutely no flavor the chicken thighs are supposed to be spicy but wasn't at all. The orange juice was the best thing $5.00 also no refills are included so be careful ordering your beverages make sure it comes with a free refill. The pancakes that my boyfriend got looked like the best thing they brought out we spent 94.00 the food absolutely had no flavor last thing the chairs are hard very uncomfortable and the restaurant have flys and nats. I thought the place was pretty cool. And we got a chance to chat with Harry! He's a very nice guy. Seems standoffish at first. But very pleasant! Anyway I've been twice already. And I really do like the place. It's not one of those high end or trendy breakfast/brunch places. It's a basic breakfast spot with nice folks working there. They do have special off the menu items. And they're great. But to me this place is where you can count on an amazing eggs Benedict that's made the same every time. Certain times on the weekends there's a wait. But it's never extremely long. This spot is located on the corner of Tuam and Bagby There is street parking and a lot available. If you live in the midtown area. It's a great place to walk to. Ordered take out brunch from this place and wow! We all loved it! And thought it was delicious!! :) The chicken was flavored incredibly with some sweet and some heat, with still being crispy, even in takeout! The potatoes, whether home fries or hash browns were delicious. The food is really customizable so if you love cheese, you can opt for cheesy options of either one! The feta fries were also very delicious with an amazing honey mustard sauce they serve it with! I loved the Larissa plate I got, but because I love eggs Benedict, I got hollandaise on the side, and that was the BEST! I drizzled the hollandaise over the Larissa plate and it was amazing! 10/10 recommended! :) Just make sure if you go on a peak time, then know you may have to park a block or two somewhere else then walk. Went for brunch one early afternoon and it was very busy. Parking lot was full so I had to find street parking but no biggie. Only thing I wish I knew prior to going was there was a waitlist via Yelp. I didn't wait terribly long but next time I'll remember to be added to the list to make the process even smoother. Sat at the bar first but I'm guessing since the guy near me was recognized, his order was prioritized. Ordered the French Toast, a single scrambled egg and chicken sausage. Pretty simple and while it was busy, it took quite a while to arrive. This was interesting because all the French Toast slices weren't cooked thoroughly. I didn't want to wait any longer so I ate the pieces that were cooked and just kept it moving. I might try it again and try something else but I wasn't overly impressed. read more

I was in Houston during Harvey and needed to use a local laundry facility that was across the street from here. I am so lucky! Yup, my clothes were cleaned but while I was waiting, a group of about 8 of us ate breakfast here. Yup, I ordered a hamburger and onion rings for breakfast. I was hungry! The staff was very accommodating and provided prompt and friendly service. This is a casual diner type restaurant with amazing service and good eats. Harry's serves up great optiokns for breakfast and makes a reall y good hamburger with the availability to add on fresh ingredients like ripe avocado. The onion rings are crispy and juicy! Plenty of free and easy parking in their own lot. Prices are very reasonable especially based on the quality and quantity. I was surprised at the quantity of food I had. I was also surprised at the quality of the ingredients on the hamburger and the crispy and juicy flavor of the onion rings. The restaurant is clean and has an open concept that made me feel very comfortable. I would come here again for the burger and onion rings..yes, and even the breakfast if I was in the area again. The folks working here did a great job on the food and customer service for being a "diner-type" restaurant. Overall, the food was Good, customer service was great and I am glad we ate here! This place looked promising, but the reason for the poor review is because of the staff. There was a woman sitting at the bar that I suppose "works" there and didn't allow us to sit at the bar even though there were empty seats and made us take our drink outside. She then gave us 3/4 full Bloody Mary's which she said she "could not" make them spicy. I'm sorry, but really? Throw some hot sauce in that baby. Rudest woman I've met so far in Houston. read more

What time does the crowd usually start coming on a Sunday?
I would recommend being there by 9:00am. After that you will probably have to wait for a table.
Is it closed? I went today and there was construction going on but it says it's open.
It reopens tomorrow, October 2nd. Can't Wait. Will be there.
