We went here on recommendation from a few friends . We arrived at 6:45 and was advised our order would have to be takeout due to closing in 45 minutes. That was fine we could take our meal to Pioneer park. The staff was nice but you could tell they were needing to end their shift. My wife and son enjoyed their burger . I had ordered the chili cheese burger with chili and cheese only . Unfortunately the order was not made correctly. By the time I had found out it was to late to go back . The guy at the counter has zero customer service ability. He is rude, no greeting, "you want XYZ" instead of "would you like XYZ"...simply no class or whatsoever. When we asked him what was really good and recommended, he confidently said that everything was the best. Our burgers were far away from "best in town". They were good but nothing out of the ordinary. I appreciate confidence but you have to have your product quality behind that. First impression is the most important. I highly recommend Haven's Burgers!!! My brother told me about this place about 3 years ago, and it's my "go-to" place when I feel like eating a burger. The avocado burger is the BOMB! Along with some yellow peppers and some fries....OH YA! Their chili-cheese burgers and pastrami are delicious too. Fried zucchini, excellent. So far I've liked everything I've had from their menu. My wife and I went here for the first time this weekend and we loved it. I found it on Yelp and it didn't disappoint. Staff was friendly and the service was fast. The burgers were amazing. My wife ordered the Haven Burger (burger with pastrami on it) and I order a boulder cheeseburger with bacon(60 cents extra) and jalapeños (40 cents extra). Both were cooked well and were so tasty. It is my first time here. I ordered the Haven Burger Combo for supper. It is a meal come with burger, fries and drink within $10. Soft drink has one free refill and 50 cents afterwards. The burger is simple but delicious, a great combination of pastrami and beef patty. The fries are long and thick, having crunchy outside and soft inside. The size of the meal is more than enough for me. Since the burger is served in two halves, I think it is enough to share with another friend. Overall, the place is not fancy but nice and clean. I was looking high and low for chili dogs that didnt require me to drive deep into Tempe or Scottsdale. I found it! The hot dog was a good size and they topped it with what looked like homeade chili. The only con was they used the shredded store looking cheese instead of the nacho cheese. But that just may be my preference. But it was still incredibly tasty. Damn good burger spot! Located in the heart of downtown Mesa, Haven Burgers is a place you must check out in the valley. The location is hidden right across the street from a church, but once you find it, it will be well worth your time. The restaurant is very small, but they offer outdoor seating that is perfect for outside eating on a warm day. The owner will greet you himself at the door and follows up with you through out your dining experience to make sure you are fully satisfied and comfortable. I ordered a double burger with bacon and it far exceed my expectations. This is definitely a place you have to visit more than once if you are in the downtown Mesa/ East Valley area! Wow! The California burger hit the spot on so many levels. They are very similar to Louis Burgers in Compton, CA. I loved it so much. The chili cheese fries are excellent as well I forgot to ask if they make some thousand island sauce for my fries but I'll ask next time and if they do that's even better!
