So we had really high hopes for this place. I travel the US for work Austin, Memphis, Louisville and Nashville to name a few places of my favorite BBQ. I will start with the good. The girls behind the counter are great especially Giordan she really helped us out. The overall smoke flavor of the meat was quite good and the spicy and Memphis style BBQ sauce was great! 5/5 stars for that. We got the Sampler plater which included sausage, chicken, pork and ribs with sides of potato salad, and Cole Slaw. When we ordered the Platter a guy tossed on the counter a pre assembled sampler plater. We also ordered an additional 1 lbs of pulled pork and 1/2 rack of ribs. Here's the reason for the two star we got home and the meat on the sampler was nearly not edible, we tossed out the ribs and chicken, hardly ate the pork, the only thing edible was the brisket and it had decent flavor. On the other hand the pork and ribs we ordered separate was actually very good 4/5. Clearly the sampler platter we had was from lunch or was sitting around for way to long. If we are paying $150 for food it should be fresh. I've included a picture of the old ribs and the fresh ones. A very clear difference. Will not be back. read more

Ambiance is good. Food was ok. Didn't try any beer this time but looks like a great place to get one. Pretty large outdoor patio area out front. Order at the counter or order online and pickup at the counter. Service was nice. Bathrooms were open during covid and clean. A small parking lot for patrons or park on the street. I had the brisket sandwich with coleslaw and the spicy bbq sauce. Next time I'll ask for coleslaw on the side and try one of the other bbq sauces. Experience - takeout on Saturday night was great given that we ordered ahead. Food was brought out by a server who called out names for easy claiming of food without much need for close interaction. On a busy Saturday night my order was ready ~10min after the expected time - very acceptable. Waiting outside with the game on the TVs was easy and socially distant. Bonus points for free beverages handed out to those waiting! The walk-up line seemed to be moving much slower but that's to be expected given the demand these days. The great: beef ribs, brisket, baked beans, pork ribs, and potato salad were excellent. Really made me question my own BBQ skills - smoke flavor was sweet and mellow - not over powering. We could tell meat was smoked to temp gently as it was tender while still holding onto shape and structure -read: it was not just crumbly or mushy. OK: coleslaw and jackfruit were not crowd favorites but not bad - nothing to note or need to knock down a star. Very welcome addition to our Danville Downtown takeout favorites! read more

What a disorganized place. Everything comes out wrong, the wait time is ridiculous. No one ever looks like they are in charge.

Staff - 5/5 Ambiance - 4/5 Food - 2/5 ; for Danville BBQ that's prob a 4/5 Some honest feedback - Brisket was mostly where you want it to be from tenderness, but was lacking in flavor. The statement on the menu is its cooked over 'California Oak' (maybe you meant Coastal Oak?) Which I've never heard of as a wood to smoke meat over. (Post Oak is what Texas uses for smoked meat). Aka you cooked it likely low and slow, but the wood didn't have the flavor to penetrate the meat. Pulled Pork - same as above; also would recommend possibly tossing the meat in bbq sauce. Just as general feedback goes, why not have BBQ sauce on the table? Giving trinkets of sauce for people to take to the table does kind make you scratch your head - is it that expensive to have on the table? I appreciate the attempt and have wanted something to compete with Sauced. I'll give it another try soon, and see if there are any updates/changes. read more

Bad customer service and rude bartender. We would order online and pick up mostly but we decided to dine at the site. We ordered food and was surprised how rude everyone was there like they didn't care that your spending your money like they have so many customers and business is so good that you as a customer don't mean anything! Been here often but had a real disappointing and rude service this time while picking up my order on Friday night, 11/11. One of the staff members--tall, blonde hair guy--walked right by me and bumped into my body while I was waiting for my food. I don't understand why he couldn't just take one extra step to go around me as there was plenty of space around me. Seems like common courtesy as I was just standing there, he decided to shoulder check me instead of going around me. Then later while I waited in the front of the pick-up line, the staff woman all of sudden stopped packing my food and asked the person behind me if they are picking up an order. She went to go help him complete his pick-up even though my order was almost all packed and ready for me to pick-up. It just seems odd she stopped midway. We had the prime rib, bbq platter, mashed potatoes. They were good except the prime rib was about 1/5 gristle. Hope they improve their service soon. read more

Return visit , how I want to like you... burnt ends still not 'real' burnt ends and you should probably take them off the menu. I tried the brisket for the first time, I could just make pot roast at home. My brother had the pulled pork sandwich and that was good, which goes aligns with my first review. Beans were cold. Wings, mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts were all good. If there is a next time i will give the tri tip a spin, since that is more west coast. I was very excited that a BBQ place was coming to Danville. We have been waiting for it to settle in but when a pop up on their website last week announced a beef rib special for Saturday we jumped on it. We only know of one other place in the area (Pleasant Hill) that offers it on Sundays. We also ordered the BBQ and salad pack for 2 and had ribs and tri-tip. We had 3 meals from the order! Everything was super delicious, ribs falling off the bone tender and tri-tip medium rare. Delicious food, generous portions and reasonably priced!! Looks like an awesome place peering in from outside, can't wait to dine on location. In the meantime we will continue to support this local family business. Final comment - hope the beef shortrib appears regularly on menu even for once a week!! SO GOOD! read more

We have had nothing less than great experiences when dining at Hazy BBQ. They have terrific lunch and daily specials. A great variety of choices at very reasonable prices. Anything from salads to hamburgers and sandwiches or BBQ. Their Tucson salad is one of the best salads in town. We have never been disappointed with anything that we've ordered. Service is always very efficient. We were there on Memorial Day for lunch and the place was packed. As busy as they were, our orders came out exactly as we had ordered. We talked to a really nice guy named Ryan and we mentioned to him how wonderfully he had everything under control for as busy as they were. He was keeping on top of both indoor and outdoor areas by clearing tables in a timely manner so that customers had seating available to them. We have heard about this restaurant and decided to try it. I'm not a 'wait in line' person so I ordered online. Our meal was ready earlier than expected, about 25 minutes. There were 3 of us and we ordered the smaller sampler with the Tuscan salad. It was more than enough for our dinner plus the next night. There were 2 half Chickens, allegedly a half rack of pork ribs, but seemingly more, and the salad, with dressing on the side. All were great the next night. And, the cost was about the same as if we ordered pizza and salad, except way more and better. We will definitely be back ordering on-line, until we can enjoy their inside dining. Hazy is on our short list of go-to restaurants- for very good reason! The BBQ is so delicious!! While my husband's favorite is the brisket, mine is the pulled pork, particularly when you add it to the Tuscon salad (so yum!). And, don't miss the garlic bread in every order you make, you'll be as addicted to it as we are. Great atmosphere to dine in (often live music), and take out is seamless. Everyone is always so friendly and in a good mood too. We love the holiday specials (so smart and they change it up to make it seasonal!) - every year for Christmas, it's a godsend to have Hazy's prime rib to remove a little stress from our holiday- and it always gets rave reviews. Deeeelicious! We ordered the small sampler and it was more than enough for 2 people. I'd say it would comfortably feed 3 people so I'm excited to have leftovers! All the meats were so flavorful....the spices were perfect. All the meats in the small sampler were very tasty except the brisket was a bit dry. We have used Hazy for catering for several family parties. They never disappoint. We especially love the burnt ends and ribs, but really everything we have ever ordered is great. I got takeout here today with my husband & in laws. It was all of our first time here and we had a great experience! I hadn't looked up the menu in advance but my mother in law did. She thinks the menu online might be a little different than in the restaurant. Maybe it has to do with the current stay at home order! Walked into the establishment at 8:30 sharp and learned they stop serving food at this same time. My wife double checked the hours, which on a Saturday showed they are open until 10pm. I walked back in to get a better understanding as to why we were actually being turned away this particular Saturday evening. While the food is over the top, the gal that appeared to be managing the team, was extremely disrespectful to my family and I. Its all about the delivery in customer service, and her delivery was tactless, and embarrassing.
