This time I had it delivered for 105 people and was very pleased with the food (obviously) but the service provided upon delivery was amazing. This is a great location. Have a little lunch and stroll around to see all the shops. However, the service here was a total fail. They gave us our food to go but we wanted it for here, no real biggie. Our food was cold and nothing over the top delicious, but also not terrible. I was going to order a beer while we waited for our food, I love a nice hazy on a warm day and they have an excellent selection. But when I saw the lady eating food behind the counter between ringing people up and serving drinks I quickly changed my mind. She even went so far as the wipe her face with her hand--no napkin and no washing of the hands--after her bites to and from the service area. Uughhh. read more

First time ordering from Hazy, and everything was perfect. We opted for take out on a busy Friday night -- order included wings, pulled pork, half roasted chicken, potato salad, tangy coleslaw, and cauliflower. I know other reviews have complained about takeout, but our experience was flawless. All of the sauces (so many sauces) were included as well as utensils. Items were packaged with care and everything was still warm when we got home. We are pretty tough to please when it comes to BBQ--everything we had was great. Well, where do I begin with this saga. Underwhelming, disappointing and sad are probably where I should start. We entered this bbq establishment with hopes of finding a (not so hidden) gem. We were abhorrently disappointed. We had to find a light to stand under to even begin to read the menu, then we had to decipher the menu (that is probably on me, but ok.) Once we got through the menu we decided on ordering a combo plate of brisket and a combo plate of burnt ends with sides of potato salad and coleslaw respectively. The restaurant was less than busy and it seemed like it took exceptionally long to get the food. This is perplexing to me, because smoking meat takes HOURS, so you would think everything should be prepared and ready to go once orders are put in. That does not seem to be the case here. The food came after about 20 minutes of waiting. Mind you, there were probably only 6-7 tables occupied (inside and out.) I'll start with the brisket. Wow, four slices (thinly sliced) and they were COLD! The meat was dry, although it did come right apart. The smoke ring was basically non existent and had very little flavor. The slices I got were lean pieces which appeared to have been from the flat portion of the brisket. The Burt ends are next, if that's what you can call them. Again... wow. Basically just fatty cap portions of whatever they decided to turn into burnt ends, slathered in sauce. Pretty much a sad excuse for burnt ends. Oh, did I mention they were also cold? They most definitely were. Unreal. Next up are the sides. I ordered the potato salad to accompany my brisket. Mustard. That's it. Mustard flavored potatoes. I'll leave it at that. The coleslaw had ok flavor, but it was DRYYYYYYY. I didn't know you could do that with coleslaw. On top of the cold meats, mustard potatoes and dry coleslaw was the gnats. There seemed to be an excessive amount of gnats flying around our table. We were inside and it's February. Not sure what they have breeding back there, but they got some fly issues. So if you are looking for a subpar bbq spot, this is it. If you want good bbq I would look elsewhere. In Total for two plates and two beers I spent about 55$. Not crazy expensive but also entirely too much money for the quality of food served here. Picture attached for reference. read more

I went on a Tuesday for lunch and it the salad that I order came with chicken and it was ONLY $10. My friend and I couldn't believe it $10. The only thing was that there was a bone on the top of my salad, so surprised that they would serve the salad with a piece of the chicken bone sitting there. What a disappointing experience! I have been to Hazy a million times since they first opened. Tonight was my first time to swing by and order takeout on my way home. I will never be doing that again! I ordered 2 kids chicken tenders with fries. For me, the Burnt Ends sandwich with slaw. Since this was my first time ordering to-go, I asked if pickles and onions are included and was assured "yes". I stood there for almost 30 minutes waiting for my order. Wow--would've sat down and ordered a drink had I known how long I'd be waiting. Got home. No pickles and onions. I opened up my $13.50 sandwich (see photo). Soggy sauced bun, 5 cubes, no slaw. Hmm...what an overpriced cube of brisket. Huge bummer. Ha! 1 of my 5 precious squares was almost entirely fat. Hazy is one way to describe the experience here. I had two big concerns with a recent visit. One of my concerns was the lack of regard for their covid-19 protocols. We decided to dine in because it was a bit chilly and I was comforted by the large sign they had up saying that vaccination proof is required for indoor dining. Well, after ordering and paying, the girl (who was very friendly) did not ask for proof of vaccination; after stating I was eating indoors I pulled out my phone to show her. She said, "Oh that's ok." I said, what about the other people I'm with--she stated, "You're fine." Well, that's not how it's supposed to work. I suggest they actually follow the protocols and really check for those dining inside. We were eating and I thought to myself, "Great, now I have to be paranoid about this" rather than enjoy my food. The second issue I had was with their steep price increases and a la carte style. I spent over 100 bucks and was a bit shocked that the price for .5lb brisket seemed to jump almost 40% since I had bookmarked them a while back. Other than that, my experience was a good one. I was a fan of the space and layout. Carrot cake was excellent. The BBQ was fair to good overall but I'd have to say the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes tasted off and we didn't finish them. My standard will always be the Texas BBQ I was lucky enough to experience when I lived in Texas for a bit. My recommendation for the managers at Hazy is to make your covid-19 protocols less hazy. read more

I wanted to give this place more stars but what I encounter with the Hostess I had to rate this place lower. We arrived around 6pm on a Friday, which the place was 60 percent packed. Went to the Hostess stand for a party of 8 and she looked at me and said do you have a reservation and I said no and she goes sorry we are fully booked tonight we are unable to take you. Since we drove all the way here I decided to look at their reservation site on line to which my surprise I was able to make a reservation at 7pm for 8 people. We decided to grab a drink across the street and wait. At 6:45pm we walked back over and my husband went to the hostess and she asked how many and sat him right away (didnt even need to pull up our reservation) just sat him for a party of 8. Server was great! I would give her 5 s. She was very attentive, and checked up on us often! The food was good! Great BBQ in an area that has very limited offers besides chain BBQ restaurants. Their beer/alcohol selection was on point as well! Overall I recommend making a reservation if you eat here... to guarantee you will get in! read more

I ordered a simple soup and salad lunch combo and ended up waiting for over 35 minutes...and it wasn't even busy. The Tuscon salad dressing had no flavor and the soup portion size was laughable. Been here twice. First time after mountain biking. Had a brisket sandwich. t was awesome. Beer selection is pretty good. Based on that I took my family on a Sunday. My reputation was ruined. First my brisket plate was cold. Then my wife ordered burned ends. They were cold and were mostly fat. This is our 3rd visit at Hazy Bbq. Very laid back ambiance and family friendly. They have patio dining as well with heaters and a fire pit in the middle. They offer table service or self serve but we prefer the table service. :). We have ordered the sample BBQ and ordered sides that included French bread, Mac n cheese, Brussel sprouts and beans. We found that the ribs, chicken, and sausage are very seasoned and tasty. The pulled pork and brisket not so much but well cooked. French bread and Mac n cheese everyone loved esp the kids. My family and I met another family for lunch. Great spot for kids, lots of space. The food was spectacular. I had the brisket. It was tender and had great flavor. For my side, I had the tempura green beans; they were delicious. Great for dipping in their awesome BBQ sauces. My wife had the Tucson Salad. She loved it. Kids had the chicken fingers, hot dog, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. They were in heaven. I could not recommend this place more. Let's start with the custom service Really bad .. you had 4 people and what look like maybe the Mange so 5 in total. They were all just standing there taking to each other while I entered the establishment and ready to order. The Manger walk right pass me and was getting on his phone and didn't even acknowledge me. He was passing back and forth right at the cash register and we made eye contact several times and nothing . We catered a recent gathering with friends and used Hazy BBQ based on recommendations from Yelp, etc. What a wonderful experience! The online ordering was easy, the prices were very reasonable, and most importantly, the food was fantastic. A few of our guests are big burnt ends fans and they didn't stop raving about how delicious they were all night. We also got the chicken and pulled pork, which were melt-in-your-mouth good. And the sides? Oh my... Mac and cheese, beans, creamy slaw --- all were so well prepared and a perfect complement to the meats. Love that this place is downtown in Danville, its always busy and buzzing. We recently went for our second visit. The staff were great and, as we have a nut allergy and asked us if we minded waiting a little longer for our food as they would make it to order - no problem! We had a great table outside and good drinks (they have a really good beer selection and quality of drinks is v good) so we were happy to wait. Buzzer goes off and we collect our food - its good, but its luke warm at best - same as the last time we ate here. All the meats are cooked really well and are v juicy but just not hot. Fries - warm. Roasted cauliflower - warm. Meats - warm. Nothing hot - such a shame. read more

This review is for the pop up in Livermore at Dust Bowl, I'm confused on how this is considered BBQ? I've given this 3 tries on separate occasions trying my hardest to give it the benefit of the doubt, but it's failed all three times. 1. Brisket plate - where's the smoke? Cause I don't taste it. I see the ring but it's nowhere to be found on the food. Seasoning was missing - couldn't taste it. And the fat wasn't rendered? Think cooked bacon fat, reheated brisket maybe? No clue. Corn bread was cold and hard. 2. Pulled pork Nachos, pork was dry pieces were dried out, no smoke again. queso tastes canned - think velveta or microwaved Philly cheese steak hot pocket. chips were good for chips. But overall highly disappointing. Brussels we're good but swimming in oily sauce. 3. Tritip plate, again, smoke ring zero smoke.... Luke warm at best. Seasoning? Nada. Corn bread, dried out again. Brisket beans? No smoke, no flavor, brown water. 4. Kids Chicken tenders, flat, burnt, dried out. What's up with this trailer? Is it all pre made food cooked last night sitting in a warmer waiting to be served? I'm at a loss for words about this place, I was excited based on the reviews but it's highly disappointing in all corners. The food is just bland, there's no flavor of proclaimed Oak, it's a strong wood and it shouldn't be missing on the palette when when you eat it. The brisket beans should have more flavor, I should be able to taste the wood smoke from the brisket. It should compliment the beans. It doesn't. Horrible experience with food 3 times. Is this BBQ? I can do better in my backyard for a fraction of the price. Hopefully they can figure out the food truck, I can't imagine it'll stay long with food like this. Should I bother driving to Danville to try the restaurant? At this point I'm not sure it's worth the drive. I'll stick to just drinking the beer at Dust Bowl. read more

In all honesty, I'd rate this place 1 Star, but I think Yelp hides high and low ratings. So I'm giving 2 stars. The pulled pork was over loaded w salt. Want some pork to go w your salt ? Brisket was over cooked & dry. The burnt ends were tough. The ribs are the only almost saving grace; well seasoned and meat fell off the bone. French fries were served cold. You can skip the brownie dessert - maybe it was gluten free hard pass. Really the only enjoyable food item was the carrot cake. Great location & layout.
