While this often signals unwelcome adjustment for patrons accustomed to the manner in which an established restaurant's dishes are prepared, changes in recipes and/or ingredients being used, or just a plain old difference in overall taste or presentation, I'm happy to observe that, as a customer for decades, this wonderful little gem of a restaurant has maintained the key characteristics - both in food quality and service - that made our family fans so long ago. There have been some recent additions to the menu, in both dish selection and beverage variety, which actually align the restaurant better with contemporary tastes and dining trends. Traditionalists need not fear, however, as the old menu standards still remain and are as good as ever. (In fact, I didn't realize there had actually been a change in ownership until I directly asked our server after not seeing some of the usual staff over the last couple of visits; otherwise, I wouldn't have known.) In terms of ambiance, new booths were recently added (and are more comfortable), but the overall decor remains basically the same. Similarly, the service continues to be on point with dishes prepared upon order and delivered quickly, drinks refilled/refreshed regularly, and vacated tables cleared and cleaned in a timely manner. In summation, the Chopsticks House is as good as ever - and with a recently expanded menu, too. Portions are extremely generous, and they do not skimp on the proteins or quality of ingredients. The restaurant was spacious, clean, and well decorated, making it a comfortable place for our group to gather. I ordered the pork bánh mì, and overall I was really impressed. The food was flavorful, the portions were generous, and everything came out quickly. Even with our larger group, the staff remained friendly, attentive, and made sure everyone was taken care of throughout the meal. Overall, it was the perfect place to celebrate such an important milestone. Good food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere made for a memorable end to the semester. They comfortably accommodated about 60 of our friends and family for a three-hour private restaurant buyout. It was the perfect amount of time to mingle, eat, and play games. They were incredibly accommodating, even allowing our balloon artist to arrive two hours early to set up our decor, along with my best friend who set-up all the decor on the tables. A huge thank you to Calvin, the owner, who helped us curate the perfect menu and made the planning process super easy. Many of our guests were trying Ari's for the first time and loved it so much that they've since returned! Our favorites are the Calamari, Crispy Pork Belly, Tom Kha Kai, Shrimp Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Panang Beef, Thai Tea, and Mango with Sticky Rice. We order these again and again! I asked for the check when the server was asking me if I wanted anything else and mentioned that I saw they closed at 2pm and wanted to get out of their way. She was very appreciative but never once made me feel rushed or like I stayed too long. Anyway, I really appreciate the extra level of service and professionalism. Opened the dark door, very underwhelming! Small, stark white walls. No one to welcome you, our friend waved at us, so we proceeded to the table. Our waitress stood at the end of the table. We mentioned it was our first time and may we have sometime to look over the menu ? Ok and she left, she came back 30 seconds later, are you ready to order? NO the menu is huge and we need about 5 minutes please. One minute later she said OK what would you like to order ? My husband said, please can we have sometime to look over the menu I do not know yet. The waitress STOOD there staring at us waiting for us to decide what we want. My husband is on page 2 of the menu it is just so big you can't read it all in 30 seconds or one minute.! she wouldn't leave our friend. Finally looked at her and said just a few more minutes please and she just left.. she comes back and we asked for two separate checks before we ordered. I asked for my soup to go to the daughter and it came to me anyway I just gave it to the daughter instead.. the table area where I was sitting at was so sticky and dirty.
