Tried this place out based on a co worker's recommendation. She had never been here either so I also based it off reviews. The only thing that caught my attention was the avocado toast. I know it's the easiest think to make at home but I had never tried it. First of all, I'm too lazy to pick out the avocados at the grocery store and second, I'm just lazy. Period. So why not just try a gourmet style one? And that's why I came here for lunch on a Thursday. We went into the wrong driveway and couldn't find it at first so I had to call. It's located right next to Starbucks which is in the corner of the street. It's a nice small clean spot with a few tables and chairs for seating. We came in after the lunch rush around 1pm. Perfect timing. We were the second customer there. The ladies greeted us kindly as we walked in and asked if we ever been there. They were nice enough to explain the menu for us. I decided on the avocado toast of course along with the almond butter and banana toast. Sweet and salty. Great combo. I felt the process to make the food took a little while but, hey they ended up making my lunch perfectly. I went with a hummus base along with the avocado, a bit of oil, onion, and a dash of salt and pepper. The almond butter and banana toast was also accompanied by chia seeds and honey. She packed in so much avocado and bananas that I ran outta bread before those two which is normally the other way around. I loved the taste and flavors of the avocado toast, the hummus was not over powering and was a great combo. Thanks to the ladies that made my lunch such an enjoyable and memorable experience. This place is SLOW. Came in at noon and there was only ONE person working. Stood in line to order at the counter then was told to order at the kiosk. Not a fan of the extra fees that were charged. Getting a smoothing took over 20 minutes! Also, $10 for a tiny 16oz cup?! Would rather go to Whole Foods for double the size. Ordered the tropical green smoothie and it tasted like ginger... there's not supposed to be ginger in this smoothie. Maybe they didn't wash the blender out prior? I've been visiting this spot since they opened. Their food is delicious, well-made, and of course. Healthy. I get different variations of the avocado toast along with the healthy veggies sandwich. I absolutely love their almond butter smoothie. Their natural juices are also tasty. My boyfriend loves ordering chicken and turkey sandwiches from here, as well. The service is attentive and very polite. No complaints. The owner is sometimes at the shop, and he's very knowledgeable on any of the food items. The tables are always clean. The place is called Healthy Bistro, and they certainly live up to the name! They have a nice selection of healthy option for a quick snack, or full meal as well. I'm not normally a sandwich fan, but after trying a sandwich here, I've been converted! My favorite here is the OC Pastrami Sandwich. The Pastrami is lightly sautéed with onions, witch comes together between two slices of whole grain bread and plenty of yummy veggies. I also noticed the ingredients they use here are organic. The location is right off the 55 fwy, perfect for grabbing food on your way to the beach, and they do have a website where you can order ahead of time. Finally, I saw they have a wide selection of juices, smoothies, and coffee, perfect for those sunny SoCal days! This is the second time I've eaten here. And both times have supported by experience. Every time I come here I continually get the impression that every corner has been cut to save costs. I get that they're cheaper than some places, but I don't care about saving a dollar if it means that my açai bowl is frozen the night before and given to me. I was told that if I just wait 10 minutes it might be unfrozen enough to actually eat. Frozen might not be the worst thing, except that they gave me the cheapest spoon I've ever seen that literally cannot penetrate frozen açai. The balls are super small and just the right size to pack everything in. It is literally impossible to eat this without having everything fall out on the table next to me. So yes, yes please will definitely save you a dollar or two, but for me it's not worth the frustration of getting a low quality meal. read more

I had chicken, a bunch of veggies, tomato basil spread (?) and jalapeños. Every part of it, except the heat of the jalapeños was essentially tasteless. I rarely get bowls, so not sure how this would measure up, maybe they're all bland. I have a non verbal child and she ate her bowl with gusto so I was glad she had something healthy. They used to only offer gluten free bread; now they also offer sourdough and we watched them help the person ahead of us and redip a utensil into a spread after using it on sourdough. Their bowls are amazing. I come here often. The staff is great and accommodating and are usually very carful here but for some reason have messed up my order twice. I can't have peanut butter for obvious allergy reasons and always substitute almond butter. I even double check my receipt to make sure they had almond butter on there, before I receive my order so its never the cashiers fault.
