AMBIANCE Parking: Welcome to El Lay, it gets packed. Your best bets are street parking some metered parking but definitely do public transit if it's offered. Seating: They have some tables for you to chill but other than that, it's a good grab and go spot to just enjoy the Olvera Street atmosphere. Vibes: Los Angeles is very unique as no parts of the city are the same. This pays roots to the Hispanic roots. Eating here feels like eating a piece of Los Angeles history. You're surrounded by colorful market stalls, mariachi music, and the energy of Olvera Street, the experience is about more than just the food. This isn't a flashy restaurant--it's a historic food stand that has earned its reputation through consistency, tradition, and community. Great place for a quick food adventure - fulfilling an appetite or taking a bite out of history. FOOD Original Taquitos & Avocado Sauce (Recommend) You got to explore the hype while you're here right? The taquitos had a good crisp on the outside while the shredded beef inside remained tender and flavorful. The sauce was nothing too flashy but I guess it was ahead of it's time. A mix of guac and soothing creamy avocado flavors. It helps bring a tangy yet packed bite in your tortillas. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and awesome! Straight business and good service. TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Good selections, reasonable prices, and a pleasant experience. As a long term resident in the City of Angels, it's an honor to try a part of history. Nothing too flashy but a great place to experience. till next time, Cielito Lindo! TIPS * Visit while exploring Olvera Street so you can enjoy the surrounding shops and history.

Walking over from Union Station is super easy, it's maybe a 5 minute walk. A few of us had heard amazing things about Cielito Lindo and how they have the BEST taquitos, so we were all excited. Luckily we got there right before the lunch rush so there was no line. They have a tiny alcove of an outdoor dining room, and we were able to snag enough tables and chairs (took up half the room) for all of us. They cook the taquitos to order so it took quite awhile for all of us to get our food. We all got the famous taquitos and some of us also got the combo with tamales. I was a tamale girl. My spinach tamale was pure mush, was it even cooked? I didn't see or taste spinach, I honestly don't know what was in it. The others who got tamales all hated them and commented that they just just wet messes. Literally none of us were wowed by the taquitos. They were very crispy and covered in the green avocado sauce, which I thought was decent, but the shredded beef inside had no seasoning and was dry. The combos come with refried beans and we all agreed the beans were the best part of the meal. The food here is pretty cheap, and I appreciate the historical aspect of it - slinging those taquitos since 1934! But it just wasn't good enough for me to ever go back, and I have definitely had better taquitos.

Walking in feels like going to a butcher shop that has strong LA pride. The servers were efficient and kept the line moving at a good pace. We ordered The DH and a Slim Thicc Double along with some truffle fries to share. The burgers came quickly and I was in awe by the size of them. The DH is probably one of the best chonky burgers I've had in a long time. It reminded me of an elevated fancy Big Mac in the best way possible, probably because of the sesame bun. The dry aged patty was so juicy, flavourful and umami. The patty was seared to perfection with a caramelized crispy exterior and an incredibly succulent center. You needed a thick structural bun to hold this monstrosity up and they delivered. The melted cheese tied everything together nicely, each bite was like a dopamine hit. My boyfriend also really enjoyed the slim thicc double double as well. The truffle fries were also a banger. The fries were crispy, well seasoned and plentiful. It was covered in this delicious chunky truffle mayo and parmesan that had nice deep flavour to it. If you like truffles I'd recommend getting extra sauce to dip the bottom half of the fries in. Love the food here and I'm definitely coming back whenever I'm in the mood for a thick juicy burger!

I personally prefer pickles on the side, so I can determine when I want hits of acidity, but I see how they add to the burger. The patty itself had some inconstant pieces of cook and some chewy pieces but overall, so much delicious meat. The man running the front was very patient and kind. Great SERVICE. The FRIES were crispy and came out hot before the burger which I appreciated. Quaint hole in the wall spot hidden in a Chinese mini mall. There is paid PARKING on the same side of the street in the back of the mall. Feels like a mom'n pop shop with little seating inside and some seating outside. Busy even at 8pm and you order at the counter so pretty casual. SOLID SPOT and I appreciate the size of the meat!

Saw a viral video of this street food on IG, in downtown LA, next to a bridge, street vibes, a bit…read moreof a Brooklyn feel, so I had to swing by and try it. The kebabs being grilled looked wonderful and well-marinated. It's a long street stand with an electronic ordering system monitor in the middle. The man himself, Farhod, stands around the middle and cuts fine looking pieces of already grilled meat, to create platters and wraps for the customers. My friend and I asked him for a recommendation and he said we must try a ribeye plate, so we ordered a plate each. It took about 30 minutes for the plates to be prepared, as this place is busy. Right before the plates are given out and if you're standing by your plate, their signature move is to slice off a strip of ribeye and let you taste it right before receiving your plate. Nice touch! Each plate came with delicious rice, very fresh tasty salad, a crispy, very yummy large pita bread and a good size portion of the ribeye itself. Although the ribeye was pretty juicy, both me and my friends thought that the meat was over salted, in fact we even left some ribeye behind. Maybe it's a one-off, since these ribeyes came highly recommended, but that was our experience last night. Would consider coming back here to try their whet looked like a beautifully marinated, succulent chicken kebab. Parking situation is a bit crazy, with many cars double parking, but I guess the local police allow it, so no issues there. The customer service was pretty good. Will visit again.

This place is always recommended to me on Yelp anytime I try to find places to eat in Little Tokyo…read moreand technically it's in the Arts District, but it's within walking distance. I've had my brother and several friends say that it's good and since we were closer to this area for a pop up event, we dropped by and I finally had a chance to try it. We visited during the final game of the World Cup, so there was no more indoor dining, but there's a couple bench tables outside at the side of the building. Part of the building shades over the seating, so even on a pretty hot day, this worked in a pinch and there was a slight breeze too, thank goodness. Staff was helpful and and answered our questions. They also brought our order out to the tables outside, which was nice. They also took our trash and tray back when we were done too. Each table has ketchup, brown and spicy mustard if need be. Inside, you order and pay at the cashier, grab a number, and they bring it to you. There's a bunch of sausage links on display, as well as the sodas and you can see some of the beer that they have too. For our Sunday lunch, we got the: 1) Sunset Zero soda: -It's an imported German soda. Love that there's a zero sugar version. It's a citrus cola with ending vanilla notes. Way better than some of the orange Pepsi/Pepsi Fire they ran in the past. Nice to try. 2) Rattlesnake & Rabbit with Jalapeno Peppers: -Unique combination of predator and prey meats all encased into one sausage. Also, not often you can get these meats as well. -Slight spicy kick to it from the jalapenos and rich, buttery texture of the meats together. -Each hot dog comes with 2 toppings and we got caramelized onions and sauerkraut with this which added a nice sour and sweet taste to it too. -I liked this the most of the 2 of them. 3) Pheasant with Herbs de Provence: -Nice savory flavor, but I was a fool and ordered this with the sweet and spicy peppers as a topping since they were different from the other toppings we got and I mostly just tasted the bitter aftertaste of the peppers that sort of overpowered the meats. My mistake if anything since the bites with just meat and mustard were delicious. 4) Groot of Belgian Fries: -Huge serving, way too much for 2 people especially with 2 hot dogs and we sadly could not finish it, but at the very least it came with 2 dipping sauces. -Before ordering this, I didn't groot referred to anything other than a Marvel character. -Fries had a rich, deeper flavor than standard fries, nice slight crispiness. We got it with curry ketchup and sundried tomato mayo. The tomato mayo was fine, definitely a lighter flavor and since the fries tasted so rich on their own, I feel like the curry ketchup was a more flavorful and better match. I love a good hot dog, so being able to try it with more exotic meats, flavors, and sauces makes it definitely worth stopping by.

There is a kids menu too, but i don't see a difference. It only gives the same(maybe it was smaller? Hard to tell) hotdog with limited choice (chicken and apple flavor?) with fries. Wish i remember the price if it worths. I have been trying mainly rattlesnake&rabbit but i will try buffalo next time to see how different it is. For adults, i would not recommend chicken&apple. I feel like other flavors are way better than this.
