Very disappointing. We are part time locals and feel strongly about supporting our local businesses. However we won't be going back to this one. As the very first customers of the day we expected fresh coffee and a hot breakfast. We got neither. I ordered it iced tea that never came. My husband but into something foreign in his potatoes and his sausage was cold and over cooked. Maybe this place gets better as the day goes on but breakfast is definitely not their forte. read more

I was there with some friends last weekend, The food was ok, I had tacos shrimps, everything looked freshly made and healthy, but fresher thing there was our server Brianna, she was super attentive to all our needs despite the restaurant was packed, always smiling, and we really felt like home. We walked around the boardwalk- lots of frozen custard, fried seafood, and pizza (oh, and a Five Guys). We walked and walked- whew it's a lot of people. We finally got tired of looking and stopped in. So, it was kinda quiet. Waiter was nice enough. Menu was the polar opposite of anything on the boardwalk. That's some good news. Also, the food is pretty good. One person loved their steak sandwich. Another had the Nicoie salad. Another the pesto pasta. A dash of salt wouldn't hurt, but all was pretty good. The southwest quinoa bowl was a cup of quinoa, diced onions, corn, 1/4 avocado, and some tortilla chips- it was $18 I get the local sourcing and all, but that bowl of pesto pasta (no protein) was also $18. The only thing good about this place is the general manager/bartender. Our waiter was rude the entire time and didn't bring us enough waters/didn't check on us at all through the meal. We also received 3 dirty cups that we had to return when we are in the middle of a pandemic. They also ran out of champagne when we paid for bottomless mimosas. Half of our food was burnt or not cooked to the way we asked. We felt very rushed before our time limit was up. I went here first summer of 2019 and the experience was a 3-4, something has definitely changed. We went last night and had an amazing time - ambiance, waitress (Kathleen) and the food was all wonderful. We felt welcomed, not rushed at all and the food was fresh and SO flavorful. The menu is super accommodating for all diet types. We enjoyed the cauliflower/potato app, Veggie Burger, fish tacos and tuna ceviche. The food overall in this town is not great, we come from Brooklyn and we're used to flavor, proper cooking techniques and culturally diverse foods. Based on our meal last night, you can tell the chef has a good understanding of flavor. I'm excited to go back and give it another try. My husband and I stumbled upon this hidden gem one thirsty evening and our times in Bethany have never been the same since. First off, the crushes are amazing! If you are a fan of Aperol, the Aperol Crush is a standout! Freshly squeezed juice, a perfectly balanced concoction that is so refreshing and quickly became a favorite. The bartenders are friendly and attentive and the manager was professional, respectful, and so personable. Now for the food, I don't even know where to begin?! I have had multiple mouthgasms with every order. If you want the best burger you have ever tasted, this is your place! The jerk chicken and sweet potatoes with yucca side was so good it made me shed tears of joy. The roasted beet salad with goat cheese was presented beautifully, the beets were so tender and the goat cheese was creamy and airy. The portions are generous and the ingredients are natural and locally sourced. We had the pleasure of meeting local celebrity Chef Norris who is the visionary genius behind this vibrant execution of farm-to-table concept. He oozes with enthusiasm when he talks about his menu and you truly can taste to love that goes into his mouthwatering masterpieces in each and every bite! The ambiance and aesthetics give off a chill surfer vibe that is nostalgically reminiscent of Oahu's North Shore, it's authentic not kooky. The music is on point! Bonafide head nodders will rejoice! My only fear in posting this is blowing the thinly veiled cover of how legit this spot is but with the momentum of Heideaway's popularity already rolling along like an inbound tsunami, I realize that pose dream has sailed. We have had numerous date nights and a family brunch with our hypercritical teen and tween offspring and their compadres, and all of our experiences have been nothing short of incredible. Beautiful atmosphere but insanely overpriced. A 6 ounce piece of salmon 16$ on top of a salad... I mean unreal, especially when it's raw in the middle and they "reheat it" the same piece that you cut into on the side plate you put it on and it comes back the exact same. Also added shrimp to my salad, 9 dollars for 6 little shrimp that were obviously frozen. I expected more and for 46$ for a salad, disappointment is an understatement. FYI, Couple next table over had same issue and were even more upset. On the check they call it "hello food", more like goodbye food. Service is also a disappointment, young kids who stand around and talk and openly eat standing around the kitchen. Take your money somewhere else and save yourself from food poisoning and a poor experience. read more

Being vegan, I appreciated all of the options and for Bethany finally having a more healthful restaurant. We went as a large family party and everyone's meal was so so - lots of oil in many dishes, ridiculously loud and no noise absorption. Some loud, cackling and drunk people at the bar were so annoying, we honestly could not hear each other at the table. Flies were an issue too. The decor is wonderful, staff was friendly but the food needs work. When we asked if there were vegan desserts, our server looked confused, went to a fridge/freezer and rummaged around before letting us know that they had some frozen cookies. I'm curious why a restaurant with so many vegan options wouldn't also have desserts. No problem, Maureen's now has dairy free ice cream! read more

Nope - not ready for prime time. We had a party of 10 and were able to make a reservation, so that's a plus. This is a very pretty restaurant - different decor than most places in Bethany. Pretty bar and a Nice variety of cocktails. I had a delicious Aperol crush - unique. But don't bother with any food. The ceviche was good but nothing else we ordered was good. The menu is heavily geared toward vegan (not even just vegetarian) and every dish ordered by the 10 of us was tasteless or bland. Prices are high for the area and especially considering the quality of the food. This is part of the Bethany Blues restaurant group and I was really surprised the food wasn't better. Great location so I hope they pull the menu and revise and install more experienced chefs. Also, totally not loving the co-ed bathrooms. A real turnoff. And I slipped twice on the concrete floor by the bar where there was some water on the floor from ice. Need to fix the flooring pronto! read more

This place just opened up below Mangos. It is a must try. First, all the food is farm to table. They work very closely with local farmers for their vegetables and meat. They also work with a local baker for some of their desserts. I order the NY strip and it was cooked perfectly. It came with sautéed mustard greens cooked in vinegar. They were fantastic. I don't know if I would ever try them if it wasn't for my wife and the fact they were in my plate. If you are vegan or gluten free no worries, they have plenty of options outside of the traditional salad. Outside of the delicious food, the cost was really fair for what we ordered. I will most certainly be back to try some of their other menu items. read more

This is a great restaurant featuring fresh farm-to-table ingredients in Bethany Beach. They also feature vegan and gluten-free options. The food is very fresh and prepared with great care. We were seated right away, which was nice considering other restaurants nearby had hour waits, but then it took 10 mins before our server greeted us and another 15-20 mins before we received our first round of drinks and were able to put in our food order. Disappointed. For appetizers we ordered rosemary fries which had no rosemary and mustard greens that were not good. When we mentioned it they brought out new ones and said previous 2 were made wrong. For main courses we had a burger and steak tacos. Burger was undercooked and bottom of bun was mushy mess. My husband actually ate it because I couldn't. The steak was over cooked and the corn tortillas were to wet you couldn't pick the tacos up. Flavor of tacos was good. My daughter enjoyed her noodles. Was closed on a Saturday afternoon (despite sign saying it should be open). Tried to order carry out and was told we couldn't because it was too busy. (Maybe 40% of the place was full.) Finally persuaded bartender and food was really great actually. Tried to come back a few nights later at 5:30pm for dinner for two. Only about 25% of the tables outside were occupied, but VERY rude hostess, Cameron, snapped at us that it would be 20-30 min wait. When I asked about the open tables, she got mad and barked, "Understaffed." Sadly, they need some closer management here. read more

We had a great experience at the hideaway with a huge table of 21 people. The drinks are amazing especially the hibiscus margarita and the Paloma. Everyone in our group loved their meals and they did a good job getting the food out for a big group. The eggplant parmigiana special was a big hit as were the fish tacos, burgers, pesto chicken sandwich and the roasted chicken dish. We ordered chicken tacos, shrimp tacos, beet salad, and kids grilled cheese. We waiting over 30 minutes for the food while there were only 4 other tables in the restaurant; during that time, no one came back to the table. Our food was not delivered until after we asked for the check so that we could pay for the drinks and leave. At no time did our server or the manager come over to check in with us or apologize for the wait. The tacos came out cold. There was about an ounce or less of chicken/ shrimp in each taco. We left hungry and needed to go to a second restaurant after we left to actually get a fair serving size for lunch. The latter two dishes were very good and reasonably sized portions. read more

This is a hidden gem in Bethany! They hostesses were extremely accommodating of our large group, the decor was fabulous & it was the best food in town!! The portions were smaller but the quality was so much higher than anywhere else. Our server Grace was friendly, intelligent & attentive. This restaurant has potential, but needs a little seasoning if you don't mind the pun. We went as a party of six for dinner, and we each got a different dish. I enjoyed my meal of scallops over a quinoa & spinach base, which was cooked nicely and had a good balance of flavors. Other meals at the table didn't fare as well. We had a swordfish steak that was bland, and a chicken dish that was very dry. The bigger challenge however was the level of service. Our meals came out at different times so many of our party stood waiting as their food got cold waiting for the remaining dishes. Also, several items were forgotten and we had to ask multiple times. Our waiter was obviously working hard, so this was not a mark against him. However, we did notice several of the other wait staff just standing around and chatting. The biggest staffing shortage seems to be in the kitchen. They likely just need some more staff or a method of processing meals out in a more timely fashion. We will try again at some point in the future, but will give them some time to get their groove going. read more

This place is god awful. I had two different salads on two different occasions. Neither salad tasted like anything. The first one involved a bunch of old salad leaves and vegetables thrown into the bowl with hardly any dressing. The other salad consisted of only old wilted leaves. The beet dip was like cold mashed potatoes. It tasted like it had been stored in the fridge for days. All the odors of the fridge had been absorbed by the dip. The cocktails are not worth the money. The bartender does not know what they are doing. The place has a cute ambiance/decor but the food and drinks are not worth a third trip. I was not surprised when I found out that this place is owned by the same people who own Mangos, the restaurant right above it. I stopped going to Mangos several years ago after I had to throw up right after I ate one of the dishes I ordered there. I don't remember what I had ordered but it I do remember whatever it was, it caused me to run to the bathroom because I could not keep it down. All I can say is stay away and spend your money elsewhere. read more

The hostess was so rude. Also we had a reservation for 8 and showed up at 8:07. They have a rule if your 5 minutes late they will give away the reservation. No one called and parking was challenged. This place was so rude!!!! We opened that we were late but they we just horrible. Ruined our experience and will NEVER go back to that place or any other place related to them. In this day of age any restaurant that can't understand the circumstances should NOT be in business. read more

Very excited to try Bethany Beaches newest restaurant! We had 6:30 reservations & was seated promptly even though they were very busy! There are some growing pains to smooth out,however considering all the staff are new,we were well served. Disappointed that they ran out of Veggie burgers as early as 6:30 on friday nite! My hempeh stir fry was SO delicious ...would have again! My husband's portobello mushroom had a delicious marinade & not the run of the mill balsamic kind ,however the roll did not hold together well. Nice Specials!! Nice varied selections!! Music was very loud so could not hear waitress hardly at all,but once we asked music to be turned down, they did. It was a hopping place and looks Very Promising. The radishes w/ avocado dip was a real nice touch! Love the local farm & bakery menu and vegan & gluten free options! I wish them well and will definitely be back.
