My experience with John Hine Mazda at Temecula was great to say the least. I went in for a recall on my CX-5 and was helped out by Andrew A. From the moment I walked in to the day I drove away with my car, Andrew was a very genuine and nice guy. He was great help along that way and was very responsive when I would call in to check on my car. Andrew checked the status of my car and notified me that it was going to stay in the shop overnight. At first, I was a bit worried since I had to drive back home to San Diego that evening. However, Andrew was on it and he set me up with a loaner car within minutes. The following day I was notified that my car would be ready by 1pm. When 1 pm came around, the transition from the loaner car to my car was very smooth and efficient. Once I arrived to pickup my car, Andrew gave me a rundown of all the details and inspections that were done. To top it off they even ran my car through the car was. Ultimately, I was very satisfied with my experience at John Hine Temecula Mazda. They also did some new renovations inside their office so it was a very comforting atmosphere. It pains me to write such a negative review about my local dealer, but something really needs to be said. I brought my 2020 Mazda 3 hatchback (which I bought from John Hine) in to have the infotainment screen plastic trim replaced as it was tarnishing prematurely (not to mention I've used a sunshade since day 1 of owning the car). Two and half weeks go by of my car just sitting outside only for the service department to blame me for the faulty trim piece, stating there was evidence of "outside influence". More time was spent in blaming the owner (me) for the problem rather than replacing the part under my valid bumper-to-bumper warranty. Eventually they shipped my screen out to be repainted by a third-party at no charge, only for me for them to return my vehicle after 3 weeks ABSOLUTELY FILTHY, with grease marks all over my interior, and plastic trash left in the back seat by the technicians. Given that this was my third negative experience at this dealership, it's safe to say that I'll be taking my services else where from now on. read more

My son and I recently just bought his first car from John Hine of Temecual. We bought a used Mazda and after all paperwork was signed they gave us one key. At no point during the the signing of the vehicle did they disclose it was a one key car. We left disappointed that the car only came with one key. After a day I called the dealership back and asked the receptionist about the one key and if they would just sell me one at cost. She told me no that I had to pay full price. I then threatened to return it within my legal timeline. She said she would relay the message. Within 5 minutes the dealership texted my son saying they magically found the second key. We were happy until my son got the key and found out it didn't work. At this point we were out of our legal protection to return the car. I texted again and asked for a second key at cost and so far they have been unwilling. There's one document that they forgot to have us sign and that was the return policy for the state of Califorina. We have been unwilling to sign it based on their lack of transparency about the key. I understand that used cars can come with just one key but it something that has been disclosed to me in the past and I have even had to sign paperwork on it. I had done some research online to buy a used car and found two that I wanted to look at at this dealership. Now this dealership is 2 hours away from home for me, so the cars I wanted to see were in consideration for a serious purchase. I showed up, parked up front proceeded to walk the lot for 20 minutes with no one approaching me. So I decided to go inside and see if anyone would help me locate the vehicles I was looking for. Still no one came to help. So I figured that they don't really want to sell cars. But before I left I decided to call and speak to the manager, the receptionist asked my name and what it was concerning, so I told her and when she came back on the line she stated that the manager was busy and couldn't take the call. So really the crappy customer service starts at the top. Please keep in mind that just 2 years ago I bought a car from this dealership. I'm not sure what has transpired but this dealership isn't worth your time. BTW I went down the street and bought a used car from the GMC dealership-really nice guys. read more

My experience with John Hine Mazda has exceeded all my expectations. I purchased a CX5 July 2019 with the help of Son. He was patient, informative, and never made me feel pressured to buy a vehicle. I actually thought it over for a few days before completing the purchase. When I finally went in for the purchase he had everything ready and I was in and out within an hour or so. He helped me set up the car and gave me tons of information on the vehicle at the time of delivery. And I got a great deal!! Now, if that wasn't enough wait until you hear my experience with service September 2020. I took in my car for regular maintenance and was issued a loaner vehicle. During the service there were some Hiccups due to some damage the vehicle had when I dropped it off (from road debris). Patricia from the service dept gave me a call to inform me of the issue and that they were going to take care of the issue at no cost to me. They allowed me to keep the loaner and promised to make my vehicle a priority because she remembered that i had briefly mentioned I was going out of town for the weekend. They kept me updated on the status of my vehicle and had it ready at the promised time. John Hine Mazda truly went above and beyond for me. Where to begin.. my experience here at Mazda of Temecula has been one of the worst dealership experiences I have ever had. The lack of professionalism and communication is below average. I brought my vehicle into the service department for an oil change. At the time of the oil change, they discovered a coolant leak. I agreed to a diagnostic fee, they found the upper and lower hoses/ return lines to the turbo are what's leaking coolant. I agreed to the repairs of the hoses and was informed by my service advisor that parts were on Back order. Three days later I went back into the dealership 7/26/22 to retrieve some of my belongings out of the vehicle. At this time I noticed my front bumper had damage ( this damage was not there at the time of dropping off the vehicle for the oil change ) when mentioned to Eric Kelley ( service manager ), he said he would look into it and get back to me next day. He did not get back to me as promised. After talking with my service advisor he told me they were gathering an estimate for repairs from their body shop so that it could get resolved. Almost 2 weeks later and they now tell me that there was existing damage to the bumper. I have asked numerous times for them to show me where this damage was at time of drop off as they do a walk around of the vehicle ( for this very reason ). No one has yet shown me anything. Back to the repairs, I was told the repairs would be done on Friday 8/5/22, come to find out at the end of the day, the car was never even touched nor did I receive a phone call that the car would not be completed. Friday 8/5/22 my service advisor tells me he will make sure it gets done Monday 8/8/22. Today I go in to the dealer after leaving a message and not hearing back, I drive by the dealer to see that the car has still not been touched. When I go inside, I am told my service advisor is off and there was no communication to the tech about the work needing to be completed Monday 8/8/22. I will be following up with another review once I hear back. If you are looking to have work on your car and are looking to have a headache and stress free experience.. I'd advise to look at other Mazda dealerships near you. As this has been a very poor experience. Update as of 8/9/22 , Eric Kelley called today to offer a bandaid repair if you will. Which his offer is far less than satisfactory. Please, if you're care the slightest bit about the kind of experience you will have I would highly recommend looking into other Mazda dealerships. I am simply asking to get my vehicle back in the condition it was given to them ( not perfect by any means, but definitely not with a damaged " hanging " bumper ). I truly do not wish this kind of experience on anyone that does take their car to Mazda... and if you did, I would sincerely hope that they would do the right thing and take care of it. Accidents happen, and I'm totally understanding of that. However, to cause damage to a customers vehicle ( not say anything ) and then try to come up with a repair that will still leave the vehicle/ bumper in worst condition then when it was originally brought in is very sad and frustrating. I'm not sure what I did exactly to Mazda to deserve this experience, but I will not be returning back to this dealer for future services as I have 2 other mazda's that I take here for maintenance and repairs. I would give no stars if possible. They facilitated a great sale but they can't fix my brand new car, that has brake issues. I was told by the service department they don't have any idea what's wrong with my vehicle on multiple visits, yet I have to drive the vehicle and I'm terrified I won't have brakes... that it's not a "lemon" and just a "malfunction." The dealership has even lost my car and my keys in the service department! Talk about insult to injury. Sadly I'm due for routine maintenance but will have to take my vehicle somewhere else. Mr. Mack In life there are few things that are certain. Some say that death and taxes are life's only sure bets. I say add one more to the list: The adversarial relationship between car dealerships and car buyer. It seems there are myriad stories of how XYZ dealership used less than honest business practices or how some car salesman pulled the ol' bait and switch. Are these experiences absolute, no, but they're the ones that get talked about and reviewed online...but I guess that's just the way it goes. Finding myself at the end of a lease, I made the decision to buy this time. And I decided on used as opposed to new. So, for the last few months, I've been scouring the internets, searching every available vehicle website and every Mazda dealership's website looking for the right deal on the right Mazda 3 hatchback. After a couple of weeks of searching and searching, it seemed as though Temecula Mazda always had the cream of the crop. Biding my time and being patient in my vehicle purchasing adventure, a car I liked finally popped up on TM's website. I called them and made an offer over the phone. They countered. I countered back. Offer accepted. A usually difficult process, as most dealers want to negotiate in person, turned out to be a surprisingly easy affair. If this was a sign of things to come, I was wholly receptive. In true CYA (cover your ass) fashion, I asked them to email me a confirmation of the price. No problem. A few days later, I had a friend drive me up to Temecula to finalize the paperwork. Since I had not really talked to a salesperson on the phone, I was a little wary as to how smooth this process was going to be. Once again, I was pleasantly surprised. After meeting with the coordinator I had talked to on the phone, she handed me over to Mack Foster. To say that Mack was cool would be the understatement of the year. Incredibly affable and a straight shooter, Mack made the car buying process a super easy process. In short, no bullshit. The price was the price and the initial process was finished in no time. Next was onto the financial advisor. This is where you go to sign the contract and get bombarded with all sorts of offers ranging from upholstery protector to super magic floor mats. Not this time. Katie Doyle was also great to work with and although she offered an extended service contract, she never came off as pushy or rude. She offered and accepted your answer. If both Mack and Katie are the typical Temecula Mazda employee, then this dealership should have no problems keeping their customers. I was out and on the road in about an hour and a half with a just washed new car (well new to me), a full tank of gas and a smile ear to ear. If only most big purchases were this easy... read more

This is the second time I've been to this dealership, I bought my car from Mazda of El Cajon. Personally I live about 20 min from Temecula mazda but I'd rather drive 2 hours to go to El Cajon where I know I'll get top tier service. Temecula mazda doesn't only give your car back dirtier than you give it but they make the experience inconvenient and uncomfortable. I have an appointment at 0930 and my car wasn't moved till 1000. What's the point in a appointment if they are gonna make you wait forever anyways. I will not be coming back. I tried to give a second chance but honestly it's just terrible here. Didn't realize making an appointment would have me waiting as long as if I didn't have one. I will be doin the drive to go back to Mazda of El Cajon. Seems like a lovely place. My boyfriend bought a brand new car from here a little over a year ago and we are very please with it. The sales guy was super friendly and helpful to us and the finance lady didn't push any bull on us, probably since they know he is in the car business too and he would fall for it. The dealership itself is immaculate. Beautiful show room and offices. The lot is well organized, right now they are doing construction over by the service drive, not sure what for but it doesn't really effect the flow of their lot much. The cashier for service was extremely friendly and helpful this last time we went there, a couple days ago, she even helped us set up and account for their rewards system to earn my boyfriend special discounts on service there. Buying a car? Fun? Those two words don't go together - unless you buy your car from Hine Temecula Mazda! Today, I just had the best car buying experience a person could ask for. I was on the hunt for 3 weeks for an ''08 Honda Accord. Deals fell through left and right out in L.A. until I decided to expand my search up to 100 miles away. I'm glad I did, because Hine had my exact configuration of the Accord on their used lot for less money and less mileage. Plus, since I was trading in my Mazda RX-8, I wanted my baby to go to a good lot where they knew what it was (other dealers had no idea what the RX-8 was). It was worth the 115-mile (each way) drive! I was greeted by Giovanni who promptly had the Honda ready to test drive. He knew I wasnt from the area so he explained where we were going to go and gave me turn by turn directions. On the drive, he was fun to talk to and told me about his life in Italy. When we came back, I was greeted by sales manager Ryan Hart. He was curtious and kind, especially about evaluating my RX-8. Other dealers were pushy and gripey when it came to asking me questions about it. Giovanni was sweet and didn't give you the whole sleazy salesman runaround. He explained all the paperwork very carefully and answered all my questions (in a comforting Italian accent). Ryan came over to wheel & deal about the Mazda cost, and in the end, we got exactly the price we were hoping for. From there, we went into the financing room. Katie Doyle was the girl we worked with and she made the process not only lightning fast, but was extremely informative and explained to us in plain english what everything meant. I can't believe we were in and out of her office in 10-15 minutes. She had everything printed out, highlighted in different colors, and ready to go. Everyone from the salesperson to the manager to the finance girl to the boy who washed and gassed up the car were incredibly professional and happy. It was worth the drive and I would recommend this dealership to those looking for a vehicle in the area. Update #1: Oh, and the following Monday, Giovanni emailed me to thank me and to wish us well with our Honda purchase. It was a tiny little detail that I appreciated very much! Update #2: The car didn't have floor mats. I didn't really notice till I got home. They weren't in the trunk, either. I kindly e-mailed the dealership and asked if they had inadvertently been left behind. Bill Brumbaugh is a very nice person i cannot say anything bad about him he is a great guy with great personality. He understands his buyer's perspective of customer service because he also cares a lot about how he is treated by others customer service. He salvaged my relationship with Mazda and im so thankful for that because i have never been so happy buying a car let alone driving one. I have found my car in Mazda thanks to Bill. My first time experience was not so good but let me tell you, Bill Brumbaugh called me and everything took off like a sky rocket. He made things happen and he stood behind his Mazda. I have personally experienced the rough roads and high waters with this dealership. He was there with me all the way. Everything that he promised me, he made to happen and he did everything in his power to make me happy. He did not just satisfy me he went above and beyond to make sure that i am happy with my new car. Big fan of these folks. Gio was a great sales guy who sold us our 2014 CX-5. He was friendly and kind. The sales manager was a little pushy, but nothing out of the ordinary, and frankly those guys have one job and that job is closing sales. Where the dealership shines for me is the service department. Kristina Duvall is pleasant, and knowledgeable about Mazdas. I think it's her enthusiasm and personality that make her such a good service advisor. She does want to do right by customers, and she truly likes cars. Nick Benedict takes care of my Mazdaspeed6 and CX-5 like they are his own, and usually he will spend a few extra minutes with me and discussing my cars, what to keep an eye out for, tips, etc. Their pricing is fair and consistent with any other dealership for service and maintenance that I have been to. Keep an eye out for their discount service coupons in the mail; they are pretty generous with them and also enroll in the cash rewards program; that saves me a few buck here and there. The dealership is clean and the waiting area is nice with a good coffee machine. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car here for service or buy a new car, which I intend to do when the 2016 CX-9 is available. I feel this dealership is a positive extension of the Mazda experience and adds to the experience of owning a Mazda which is a great car to begin with. read more

I parked my car in the service station and before I could enter a service tech asked me for my keys to move it. There was no good afternoon just a very abrupt interaction. I go into the service and start my interaction with Celeste. I let her know I bought my car from the John Hine in SD and they included a monthly car wash for 12 months. She had to go confirm this and let me know that it was a slow day that day and they could have a porter wash my car but it would take 40 minutes. I asked if I could possibly make an appointment since it is just a quick wash and as she mentioned it was slow. She said since it was a deal with SALES and NOT SERVICE that it would not be possible. Also, that since I got my car through JH SD it was them basically providing a service they did not have to. That is when I mentioned I called in last month to their location and the lady said I could make an appointment and now taking that away seemed unfair. I decided that with the poor service that I had received I would just go take it to a car wash myself and pay out of pocket. Feeling super frustrated I got into my car and started driving to a car wash and called John Hine SD and spoke with Ellen in Service over the car speaker. I asked Ellen if the 2 John Hines were affiliated and if this is a typical practice that happens, she said yes they are the same owner and this should NOT be happening. I also inquired about whether Sales and Service are two different sides and do not work together and she said no, they should be working TOGETHER as a UNIT. I then noticed I started getting error messages popping up like "front camera sensor system malfunction" "forward smart city brake support malfunction" "smart brake system malfunction" "mazda radar cruise control disabled under 20 MPH" and this WAS NOT happening when I dropped the car off. I was getting upsest because what the heck happened to my new car?! I asked Ellen about the messages that are coming up and she said to take it back and have them fix it. I went back and walked into service with 2 service men off to the side, one being the guy who had moved my car, I had to interrupt their conversation as no one greeted me (Great customer service guys) and let the other man know hey I came here only for a few minutes and this other service guy moved my car and now all of these errors are coming up. I took photos of the errors coming up and showed him. They went to my car and had assistance from a blonde lady with shorter hair in service as well. She checked it, did some stuff through my mazda connect although I couldn't tell what as i was standing outside the car and she drove forward and backed up a bit. As this was going on Celeste came out to ask what was happening and said to me "he only moved your car from here to there!" and I said "yes, I am aware of that, but this problem was not happening before I brought it in" I asked why this was happening as the car is new and the blonde tech explained that it happens sometimes when the censor gets dirty or other factors can play into it. I then said "yes well I was trying to get it washed" and the other tech went off to get a rag to clean the front Mazda emblem which is also a sensor. Celeste then began telling me that she offered it but I did not want to wait 40 minutes. As though this is a short amount of time when literally no one was in service?! I then said it was a big time frame to wait around when I could make an appointment and again she said I was unable to make appointments there but could just go down to San Diego and have my car taken care of. The best part was when she said it was Ridiculous that I think I could just walk in there and get service. I then asked if the John Hines were affiliated and she said NO! and that she asked her service manager and he is the one who approved to have no appointments because I got my car from the san diego location and that she spoke to Rob or Ron Hart and he had no idea what I was talking about. I then let her know I was going to do a review on my interaction today and she said "ya, you go do that!". Weird how when I call down to the SD location they say completely different things and are SUPER CUSTOMER SERVICE FRIENDLY while this one in Temecula literally chases people away. HERE IS A SUPER BIG TIP, WITHOUT CUSTOMERS YOU WOULD NOT HAVE A SERVICE DEPARTMENT OR DEALERSHIP, MAYBE WORK TOGETHER? MAYBE TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS BETTER? BECAUSE TODAY IT WAS A CAR WASH, BUT DOWN THE LINE IT IS OIL CHANGES AND AUTO MAINTENANCE AND THEN YEARS DOWN THE LINE IT IS ANOTHER CAR! AND THE CYCLE CONTINUES. I called Ellen afterwards because I was so upset and she apologized for the terrible service I had received and said anytime I want to come down there even though it is far I was welcome and took my information. It is sad that I would rather travel 52 miles out of my way to get any mazda service done at the San Diego location than the Temecula one and it's down the street. read more

My Mazda3 engine malfunction light, DCS, and TMPS light was going off. Spoke with Amanda in service dept. to schedule an appointment. She offered me a loaner while my car was diagnosed. Lee Q greeted me in the service department and helped me get checked in. Although it took about two weeks to diagnose and fix the problem, I enjoyed driving the Mazda CX5. I had my battery, wipers, air filters replaced, my oil changed, and my car repaired. I brought my car in during the Christmas holiday and I understand that technicians may be limited, but they took care to check my Mazda 3 thoroughly. I recommend this dealership for new car purchase after narrowing your car selection though the www. TrueCar.com website. My wife and I recently bought a 2014 Mazda 3 from this dealer after the TrueCar.com site gave us "savings certificate" worth about 9% off the MSRP. I had done quite a bit of homework pricing the Mazda 3 options on the TrueCar site before contacting this dealer. Our salesperson wanted to get a price closer to the MSRP but when I showed him the pricing from the TrueCar website they came around to my price pretty quickly. The actual car I wanted was at their San Diego dealership and they brought it to Murrieta the same day so I could get it. The salesmen I dealt with were Garrett Garibay & James Wine. After doing a test drive we let them know we'd follow up via email. Both were very responsive to my wanting to close the deal via email and on the phone over the next two days. When we went to pickup the car we had to meet with Katie Doyle in the "finance department". She went over the loan paperwork and gave us the opportunity to roll an extended service warranty, Lo-jack and the existing car alarm into the loan. I kind of wish I'd have known in advance that I'd need to decide those three items on the spot so I could have done a little research. She said we could add Lo-jack for $800 or so but quickly then said the dealership's best Lo-jack price was $695. I did a Lo-jack price web search on my smartphone while sitting there and quickly determined that I could buy Lo-jack for just over $300 so we passed on her $695 price. We also opted out of paying $300+ for the existing car alarm (which they then "disabled" by sticking a clip into it under the steering wheel column). As the extended 100K mile warranty only added about $20 per month to our payment we decided to buy that. If you're looking to buy a car here (or anywhere) be sure to price out an extended warranty in advance so you know what you want to do when sitting in the "finance hot seat". Katie and everyone we met at the dealership was very pleasant. No one tried to pressure us and everyone did what they said they would do. (We additionally met with Cherie Robertson at John Hine Subaru before picking the Mazda3. Cherie was also helpful. It was nice that the salespeople at the two dealerships under the same owner worked together as we tried to decide between two cars.) They seemed very interested in earning our future business. I highly recommend them for a new car purchase so long as you've done your homework about what you want to buy (and at what price - check out www.TrueCar.com) before you go to the lot for a test drive. Unless you're in a huge hurry go home after the test drive and close the deal via email. Our buying the car in the last week of the month seemed to make them more eager to meet our terms. read more

I purchased a new Mazda here this week. I was very happy with the prompt emails and quotes I received from Garret and also with Dallas who was able to show me the car when I visited the dealership. They were not pushy at all and were very casual with the sale of the car, I appreciated that and feel happy with the price. Love my new car! When I sat down with the finance department it got a little pushy and some mistakes were made on the dealerships part when quoting me but I'm very happy to say that the general manager Bill personally reached out to me to fix the error and Ryan even went so far as to find me a lower interest rate when I went back in to re-sign the paperwork for my car. The 5 stars are mostly for the wonderful leasing experience I have had with the leasing of 2 CX-5's through Son Hyunh. We have also sent him 4 customers that were very satisfied with their buying experience. He is easily the most competent and personable car sales person I have ever encountered. We look forward to seeing Son in February for our third lease. Our interactions with the service department have been decent enough. Buying the car was stress and hassle free! Love their sales approach. Not pushy at all! Financing was also great. My complaint: We had a due bill on a car we bought 10 days ago for two accessories they couldn't get to since the Parts Dept was closed on a Sunday. Worst service dept ever!!!! I showed up and I did not have a appointment and i was ok with a delay for not having the appointment, so three days go by and I get no calls at all maybe this was because i did not make the appointment ok so on the fifth day they tell me the car is ready and we go to pick it up and they gave me the wrong car, so i waited for my car and it was returned and no repairs were performed, my repairs were my airbag lamp was on. So now they let me drive off in a vehicle that is unsafe to operate and they didn't even care. I have always had great service from the parts dept at this location but I will have to go else where when i need service from now on!! read more

I have NEVER experienced such disrespect and unprofessional people at a car dealership! long story short wanted a 2012 Mazda 3, got approved, credit was legit and everything! however it was $200 over priced! another dealership was more willing to give us that price, and we told them that, and PROVED IT! they wanted us to prove to them it was the same thing they offered but with the price we wanted. WE PROVED IT! and they still would not honor it! yes of course, "if they don't want to do what you want, go somewhere else" but the reason why i'm talking about it here was because of the disrespect and attitudes the other MANAGERS (YES i DO mean MANAGERS) they were giving us!!! Recently I purchased a 2020 Mazda 3 from John Hine Temecula Mazda, the car is amazing, but the salesman wasn't so great. If you are a first time car buyer and in your 18-20's I would suggest that you bring a parent or know what you're getting yourself into before dealing with these people. Jacob told me that a 22% interest rate was the best that I could get from a lot of banks as a first time buyer with not a lot of credit experience, he continued to try and get me to sign the car that day with the interest rate being what is was and I had to refuse because that's the equivalent of me purchasing another car on top of what I would be paying. I later contacted my bank and got approved for a much lower apr of 6%, so I suggest that you don't use their bank. My parents were furious when I told them and suggested I talk to a different salesman. read more
