I try to go here at least once a week. I love their food and the service is nice. Every time I go, I'm remembered when I return. The waitresses are very nice and always cheerful. It's definitely not a classy joint, but when it comes to a good meal, I would recommend this place as a go to spot for a good bite. And the tuna sliders are amazing! I get them every time. Local or snowbird, you have to eat here if you haven't already. This small place has earned the five stars from me. I look forward to eating there next week if not sooner. :) read more

While on vacation, we stopped in for dinner with our 2 kids, ages 11 & 14. Kids ordered chowder, which was very good. We ordered pretzels and beer cheese, also good. This is where our experience turned. I totally get that good food takes time. I don't mind waiting...it's an opportunity to try more beers, right? Over an hour later, our food arrived. Mom: black and blue salad, steak ordered medium. Salad arrived with steak still mooin' (rare) with a small pile of lettuce, two quarters of a tomato and three slices of cucumber. Lol! Now, I can wait...but if I do indeed wait, you gotta deliver something better. Dad: shrimp po boy: 6 fried shrimp on a hoagie, below average. Son: crab cakes, ok. Daughter: fish sandwich, good. My son and I went to Herbie's for dinner last Thursday night. He had oysters and I had the burger. The burger ranked up there with one of the best I've ever had. They have 15-20 micro breweries on tap. Ordered two burgers for take out for wife and daughter, they were fantastic. Only one regret is I found this place on my last night in marathon. Would recommend and will return on my next trip. read more

First visit last night after a friend's recommendation. Small menu BUT very well prepared food--fresh, not overcooked, just lovely. The smoked fish dip was terrific as was the Optimus Prime. The lemon ice box pie brought back childhood memories although I think Herbie's crust was better. And the beer selection may be the best in the Middle Keys. Also beer samplers. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Go early as it can get a bit crowded--not a surprise given the quality of the food. There is seating in the main bar and an enclosed porch area. read more

Great service and a nice place to have good lunch at a reasonable price. Word of caution though; if you have to do breakfast, do yourself the favor and go to IHOP. The lunch is certainly better than the breakfast but otherwise good wings and fish sandwiches. read more

This place is classic Florida Keys dining. Great selection of beers, an excellent menu, cozy atmosphere and great bartenders and wait staff. We went as a family, so kids are very welcome. As tourists, we wanted the down low on good places to visit, and our waitress was wonderful at providing recommendations. The food was outstanding! One of us had the chicken wings, which they smoke on an open grill... Crazy good. Children's menu was limited (as it should be) but my child's sliders were thick and juicy. With something like 50 beers on tap you are sure to find something you like. Don't miss this great little, laid back Marathon Key dining spot. read more

Never have had such AMAZING smoked chicken wings in my life! Great flavor, crunchy skin, tender inside and they were huge! Fun sauces to pick from too. Conch chowder was good also. Solid beer selection with accompanying recommendations, extremely disappointing food, and half-hearted service. I know it's called a "po" boy, but seriously? Poor people deserve more than a dry hoagie mislabeled as a "brioche bun", a teaspoon of sauce, 4 lonely shrimp, and a solitary sliver of tomato. But I guess a poor person can't afford a $12 "po" boy that doesn't even come with a side to begin with. And if you do order a side separately, do not get their "coleslaw." I know I'm using a lot of quotations here, but I can't in good conscience call wet shredded cabbage actual coleslaw. Rest easy though, you'll still get charged for it even if you take one regretful bite. read more

What a quirky local place with 3 separate entrances to separate dining rooms...wonderful service...the waitress gave us samples of the beer on tap and even gave me a free one when we returned on the same day for dinner...why did we return you asked? Such an amazing place! Had the best experience! Tried some true Floridian beer and the owner Peter was very hospitable and welcoming! We made this stop on our way to key west and was totally worth it! The location and service is amazing! If you like cider, try the ace space blood orange. The highland stout is also a very good bourbon beer. read more
